Walmart - Holds on bank account

Had an accident and need to order groceries for delivery for a while. Glad to find Walmart has delivery for reasonable price.

Walmart puts holds on my account when I am ordering groceries. The number of holds is usually 3 because of weight differential on grocery items, or for substitutions that may have a different price. The amount of the holds is often a mystery. No other online ordering that I use, uses this system of several holds on one order.

I am familiar with holds, get them all the time. Usually they are small and are gone as soon as payment is posted. Not so with Walmart.

I ask, and am told the holds will be lifted or the money refunded in 10 days or less. No explanation of the amounts or why there are 3 holds (at least) for one order. Currently there are six holds totally over twice what I spent.

It’s unacceptable to expect me to wait up to ten days for Walmart to put back MY money into my account.

While waiting on Walmart to put my money back, or release their holds on my account, I don’t have access to money in my account. And they will absolutely do nothing but parrot that it may be up to 10 days for release of MY MONEY> I’ve been waiting 5 days now.

MY LAST ORDER TO WALMART WENT AS SUCH:

I checked out items from shopping cart. It looked like the order went thru with billing information. But I didn’t see it finalized as usual. There was no order confirmation in email.

Next went to bank account to see if money for order had been withdrawn or held. There were 3 holds on my account by Walmart: $32.61; $25.77 and $15.70. These 3 holds total $74.08.

My order was not complete so with these holds on my account, I could not place my order because I would be overdrawn on my account ONLY because of these 3 holds by Walmart.

After going thru 3 customer service persons, I was told the holds would be released within 10 days. The last customer service representative gave me an instant $10 credit which gave me just enough in my account AFTER Walmart’s holds, to place my order.

I ordered and now there are 3 more charges on my account for $76.18; $32.61 and $4.02 totaling $112.81. Today, there was a 4th hold - $1.00 by Walmart! My order came to $62.72.

The amounts Walmart holds on my account add up to $51.02 OVER what I owed. That is $50.02 I have no access to until Walmart releases the holds. Walmart tells me it can take up to 10 days. (And still have no clue why there are 3 holds.)

The holds will be released, they always are. But I have no access to the money held, WHICH IS MINE, until these holds are released.

I understand a hold to assure payment for order. But NOT waiting up to 10 days for MY money to be put back into MY account. (Walmart is instant on taking money from my account.) NO other company I order from does this.

Walmart can wait until the total on order is determined and then charge my account. Walmart instantly charges and often times many of the items will turn out to be OOS. And can't go elsewhere to buy because Walmart has MY money tied up with holds.

Currently, I am homebound and can't order what I need because Walmart has the money in my account held. This is serious.

Desired outcome: I want Walmart to wait until the total on order is determined; then charge my account instead of charges on my account when it's not even known yet if the items to be ordered are available.
