McDonald's - rude employees

My wife and I eat breakfast every weekend at this store with our nieghbors. This morning, I was sitting with my feet on an adjacent stool, visiting with our group of friends. An employee named Leona approached, and her first and exact words to me were "That is a chair, not a foot stool" in a very rude, confrontational manner. I asked if she was kidding with me, as she was so confrontational. She stated that she was not playing, and then explained how the foot rest ring operated at the base of the table. I was angered immediately at this person's lack of respect and manners. I was wrong to have my feet up, no buts about it. If an employee would have used common courtesy, and asked me to please not put my feet on the chair, i would have done so immediately, and felt bad for being impolite to both the establishment, and other customers. I simply was not thinking. When I explained that my wife and I are regulars every week, and that they have been out of Diet Coke for two weekends in a row (my favorite soft drink), she told me that it was Coke's fault, and not the resteraunt's. I then offered to leave, and take my business with me, she replied "That's fine". I cooled off and returned to talk to the manager, and she met me as I entered the store, and began giving me verbal grief. It was not fun, I don't deserve to be talked to like that by anyone, especially a young person who's parents are evidentally the managers, and I wonder what ever happened to manners and customer service. My friends and I will find somewhere else to spend our 1200 dollars per year.

I began placing an order through the drive-thru & had to repeat &/or correct it 3 times because server kept interrupting me. Drove to the window to pay. The bill was $16.23;I gave her a $50.00 & told her, twice, that I had the .23 in change; she did not pay attention, continued to make change & handed me change. I was still holding the .23 and told her I had the correct change as I wanted all bills. She said in a hateful tone "Well, I've already shut my drawer." I replied "you should pay attention to your customers." She got angry & yelled "F*** you, b****!" When I reached the second window to get my food, I asked for the shift manager & told him I was angry & she shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers like that - HIS reply was "I will have to check that out with her." HE NEVER OFFERED AN APOLOGY! He just kept saying he would have to check it out with her. I asked for his store manager's phone number & his district manager's phone number. He gave them to me & walked off. I asked another employee for the girl's name that yelled at me; she then came up to the second window & stated her name was Viola and then said "So, now can you move and leave so we can serve other people!" in a very hateful tone and with a smirk on her face.

This sort of behavior by an employee is unconsciounable. I am offended, & since we live in a small town, my daughter, who was with me, feels very threatened that this employee may retaliate! All we did was order hamburgers and we were abused and assaulted and treated in a degrading and insulting manner! This was the store in Roswell, New Mexico that is shaped like an alien ship - the only kind in the world - unfortunately, it is also the only McDonald's in the world where I've been cussed at and the manager treats me like I am the problem. Never again will I darken the door of McDonalds and the very sad truth of this matter is that I am certain NOTHING will ever be done about it and these sort of people will get away with it.

This is obviously no drug testing done at this McDonald's cause the smell of weed from an a employee named Camilla was stronger then the smell of the food. Well at least they put her in the back away from customers.

I agree with Zipntuit disagreement. :-)
She has no right to yell at you but you also have no right to keep your feet on the chair. Ultimately your behavior was also very rude and she just paid you back... even though she should've told you that in professional way. Well, I am sure many McD employees are polite and professional and wouldn't have said anything to you even though you deserved to be bashed.

I agree with you that you should not have had your feet in the chair. If you were doing this in my home, yes I would be very confrontational just as the employees of this establishment were. Chairs were made to be sat in, not as a foot stool. Did it ever occur to you that someone has to sit in that chair where you so conviently prop your feet. Dude come on were you raised in a barn? This is a public establishment. Where are your manners? Sorry, but I'm going to agree with the employees on this one.

your complaint does not surprise me as I work at a Mc Donalds in N.C. so I know first hand what goes on behind the counter ! Most of the people I have to work with are lower class people who have major drug and alcohol issues. Management honestly cannot say they are unaware because i've made them aware of that and have complained about the usage of such substances on the job . It sucks but they pay me enough to put up with it till i'm done with college. I just try to stay away from the bull ! The employees are rude and your right most of them can care less about you ! It really stinks that they can get away with that ! I wish Mc Donald's would promote DRUG FREE work places they may get a little better help or atleast someone who really deserves a shot at a job because today a job is a priviledge
