waited so many times for them to put in the window. Every time it gets cancelled, and then you gotta call them again and again to get it rescheduled. We just want our money back and be done with it.

I never been so scammed in my life. I just filed my complaint. I bought Universal Windows Direct Premium Unishield(R) only made by UWD in ***. They said I would save 34% energy IF I bought the whole house. I paid almost $20K and only got 12 of 14 windows installed. The *** required by the *** never knew the job was booked or told about it. The installer stole two of our credit cards and went on a shopping spree. The owners yelled and said he wouldn't hurt anyone. When I said they guaranteed he was safe, they said "because we were TOLD he was safe." They don't know about background checks because felons -- 7 time felons -- lie. $50K in jewelry and other property missing. His supervisor was a felon and friend of the owner. No one came to inspect the windows when I asked. I had to hire an inspector who said every single window installed incorrectly and were sized wrong. They were NOT UWD but a lesser brand so a bait and switch occurred. Owners claim I won't let anyone on property - wrong-o -- I asked if I could please have someone other than a career felon and owner quit responding. My house is worth $100K less because of the mess the windows are in. I've had to cancel all my cards and financial accounts and start over. The warranties for the knock-off windows if I were to say to heck with it I'll keep them is less than half of UWD promised. This company is unconscionable emphasis on con and have been given 58 times to make this right. Their "attorney" got *** saying he didn't even talk to the police about MY theft report on the installer which he is not legally entitled to do unless the investigation is done, charges filed, and he represents the accused. He lied and when I called him out to point to where I had said things, he couldn't. This is a deceptive horrific company who doesn't deserve customer loyalty. I will end up filing suit and that's what they count on is us giving up. No inspector or bidder has stepped on this property who didn't say the installation was bad, the windows are wrong and it's shameful. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY.

I made a deal with Universal Windows Direct of Phoenix for two outside sliding glass doors. I signed the agreement on 3/24 and they said they would install them in 14 weeks. I got approved for 24 months with no interest from Greensky. Universal took $2615 from Greensky for the deposit. I waited patiently. The installers were supposed to come on 7/15 but the doors were messed up so they took them back to the warehouse. The Greensky financing ended on 7/23. I started calling. I talked to *** in the *** office and they had the owners call me. I don't know their names but they're a husband and wife team and they got really mad and cursed at me because I thought the contract was over and I wanted my money back from Universal. It's September now and I haven't heard anything from them. I don't have my doors and Universal still charged me.

We hired Universal Windows Direct (or Universal Solar Direct, whatever they call themselves) on June 4th to swap out an 8 foot sliding glass door and a garden window. But it wasn't until December that they finally got around to doing the job. And when they did, it was a real mess. The inside of the garden window was all messed up - scratches, warping, and they used cheap materials. Plus, the workers messed up a tree outside the window and damaged some other trees on the property. They got fired, and a new crew came in to fix the window. But they did a terrible job too - the wood was low quality, the color was off, and the finish was rough. They came back a second time, but it was still terrible - scratches everywhere, and the wood stain was uneven. They even spilled some of the stain on the patio. They came back a third time on April 26th, supposedly with better materials. But they left on May 1st without finishing the job. There were fingerprints in the stain, the color was uneven, and the edges weren't stained. And worst of all, the wood didn't even cover the openings in the wall - there were gaps on one side and scratches on the other. They didn't even remove the ruined tree like they said they would. And when they tried to remove the stain from the patio, they messed up the pavers and now it looks terrible.

I ordered a new front door from Universal Windows Direct of Phoenix on 06/18. They were supposed to remove the old door and install the new one. On 06/30, I added a screen/storm door to the order. However, when the incompetent installer came on 11/12, he only removed the old door and installed the new one. He didn't even attempt to install the screen door. The new door had gaps between the door and the prehung frame, and it wouldn't close properly. The inside trim was 2" short of the floor, and the 45 corners didn't line up. The installer used white chalk to fill the gaps, which looked terrible. The threshold was also stuck outside 1 1/2", creating a tripping hazard.

I informed the manager and sent pictures on 11/16. They sent their best installer, ***, who re-hung the door but said it was so bad that they would need to reorder. On 12/22, they installed a new frame, trim, and threshold, as well as the screen door. However, there was no closure device on the screen door, and the outside screen door trim and touch-up paint needed to be added. *** noted this on the invoice and collected the balance.

On 01/31/2022, *** installed the top outside screen door trim and left before we knew what happened. However, no side screen door trim was installed. When we called ***, he said he didn't order the side snap trim, even though it was written on the "Completion Certificate" with touch-up paint.

On 03/02/2022, we called *** again because the parts still hadn't been received, and there was no date for when they would be available. The problem is that *** doesn't call with updates unless we first call. He doesn't inspect to see or understand the shoddy work or what is needed. He gives excuses of shipping, Covid illnesses of employees and himself, and being too busy to call. No masks were worn during any of the visits.

It will be 9 months on 03/16/2022, and this is the worst investment and company we have ever seen! The locks on the screen engage in the opposite direction of the inside door. The screen door closes on your heels while you trip over the threshold. The inside door doesn't close without a hard push, and the handle on the outside door and inside screen are 2" apart. It seems that the threshold was the wrong size ordered as measured by ***.
