I too was taken by these scammers. I cancelled within a half hour and requested a refund, well thats not going to happen. I subsequently found their abuse has been going on for YEARS and have documented HUNDREDS of complaints and started the website https://www.ultimate-guitar-sucks.com/ in hopes of getting enough victims together to file a class action suit against them for their misdeeds.

I thought I’d give Ultimate Guitar a shot, since they advertised a special Christmas deal on their site. The deal was supposed to be $3 a month, which sounded pretty good to me. I’m always on the lookout for websites or apps with affordable subscriptions to help with my guitar playing. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and I ended up getting charged $39.99 instead.

It seemed like the perfect time to take advantage of the special offer, so I clicked on the ad and followed the instructions. But as soon as I finished signing up, I noticed that my bank account showed a much higher charge than I expected. $39.99 is a lot more than $3 a month, so I naturally thought something must have gone wrong.

I looked through the website to try to find some kind of explanation, but couldn’t. I didn’t see any mention of the $39.99 annual rate anywhere on the site. So I emailed their customer support to ask what was going on. After a couple of days, they finally responded and said that the Christmas deal was actually $39.99 for a year, not $3 a month.

I was pretty bummed to say the least. I felt like they were being deceptive in their advertising, since I definitely would not have signed up for an annual subscription at that price. I gave them a one-star rating, since there was no option for zero stars.

All in all, I wouldn’t recommend Ultimate Guitar. Their advertising is misleading and not transparent at all, and their customer support is slow to respond. There are plenty of other guitar websites and apps out there that are more upfront about their pricing and have better customer service.

So here's the deal, I've been using Ultimate Guitar for a while now, but recently they hit me with a new fee for the scrolling function...really? I mean, I get it, they want to make more money to improve the site and add new features. But come on, why charge for something that was always there? It doesn't feel very fair to me.

They make it impossible to unsubscribe once they got your digits. I don't even remember my login info no more, and that just made it worse. They don't even let you cancel by phone, according to them. After years of tryin' to cancel, I finally found my login and even had to guess my password.

Then, I had to go to Google to figure out how to finally say sayonara to this company. It ain't even easily found on their site. But, even when I told 'em I wanted out, all they said was sorry to see me go. Like that was gonna make it all better!

I'm tellin' ya, these guys know they're being sketchy with their customers and they don't even care. Seems like they're makin' bank off of people who don't know how to cancel their subscription.

No lie, I found myself feeling some type of way after my experience with Ultimate Guitar. First off, I tried setting a password during registration but apparently that wasn't an option. I had to wait for them to send me a password...like, are you kidding me?! And to make matters worse, the password they sent me was not the easiest to remember. I tried changing it but there were so many requirements - 18 characters, upper and lower case letters, numbers, symbols and whatever else they wanted. Like, bruh, can't a person get a break?

Then came the scamming part. Ultimate Guitar had the nerve to hit me with the "free trial" message but next thing I know, I'm subscribed to their payment plan. I tried to unsubscribe but it was a long and tedious process. And to top it off, they didn't even send me a confirmation email that my unsubscription was successful. Instead, they hit me with an email questioning why I unsubscribed, even though I clearly listed the reasons in the unsubscription form. I'm still a little hesitant about whether or not they will try to take money from my paypal account in a few days, even though I deleted my whole account (which was not easy, by the way).

Honestly, after my experience, I would not recommend Ultimate Guitar. They're some straight up scammers and if they were in any other country, they would have been taken down by now. Stay far away from them, folks.

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Ultimate Guitar. I mean, I signed up for their free trial thinking it would be a good way to get some easy guitar tabs for a song I was trying to learn. But boy, was I wrong!

And then, when I finally decided to cancel my subscription (I mean, who wants to deal with this kind of nonsense?), it was like a game of hide and seek just to find out how to cancel! I had signed up through Google play apparently, so I had to go to some specific Google play site just to cancel. And honestly, I don't even know if it's really cancelled or not. Strike three.

So, if you ask me, I'd say don't waste your time with Ultimate Guitar's subscription. If you're gonna pay for something, there are way better sites out there that aren't gonna try to trick you or make it impossible to cancel. And if you're looking for free tabs (like I was), there are still plenty of good resources out there that won't put you through this kind of hassle.

So I decided to try out Ultimate Guitar (ultimate-guitar.com) to find some tabs for my guitar. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for and ended up canceling my account on the same day I signed up. But, surprise surprise, I found out that I had accidentally hit a button that signed me up for a year-long membership for $70. I thought there was a trial period and was shocked to find out that I had already been charged.

I contacted customer support, but they denied my refund request. They said that according to their Terms of Service, refunds aren't possible if requests aren't made within 14 days after the purchase. How was I supposed to know that I needed to request a refund if I didn't even know I had been charged at all? And who in their right mind would continue to pay for a subscription after canceling their account on the same day they signed up?

The Ultimate Guitar team wouldn't budge on their "no refund" policy, so I escalated the issue to PayPal. I am hopeful that I will get my money back and that those scammers won't get a penny out of me.

In the meantime, the customer support team offered to transfer my subscription to a new account if I created one. However, that offer falls short of what I expect from a reputable company. I canceled my account for a reason, and I don't want to be a customer of Ultimate Guitar any longer.

It's a shame that companies like this don't care about their customers and only care about ripping people off for their own gain. I wouldn't recommend Ultimate Guitar to anyone that values their money and wants to be treated fairly.

In August 2022 I subscribed to a annual subscription at $99,99. In July 2023 I received a notification that the next subscription payment would be due on the 17th of August 2023. I immediately cancelled my itunes subscription which is confirmed on my app. On the 17th of August 2023 Ultimate Guitar tried to debit my account with the subscription luckily the account did not have funds. On the 7th of September 2023 UG debited my account with $7 (looks like one month subscription), I applied for refund via itunes. Today on 14 September 2023 UG AGAIN debited my account with $99,99. This is so bad.

So, I signed up for Ultimate Guitar a while ago and just recently realized that they had been charging me every year without even sending me an email to confirm it! Not cool, right? But then when I tried to cancel my subscription, it was like they were trying to hide the button or something. The whole process was so confusing and tangled up that I literally almost gave up on it - and I'm pretty tech-savvy!
