I've been a member of TruGym.co.uk for a few weeks now and I have to say, I'm not impressed. Don't get me wrong, the equipment is decent for a budget gym, but the classes and management are a different story.

I joined specifically for the Les Mills Combat class on Fridays at 5:30. However, after attending a few classes, I was extremely disappointed. The instructor was not up to par with other Les Mills instructors I've had in the past. I decided to complain about the class and another issue (which I can't discuss due to a legal case), but the gym didn't even bother responding to my complaint.

After doing some digging, I found out that the instructor wasn't even a qualified Les Mills instructor! He admitted that he hadn't done any training in at least 2 years, which explains why the classes were so subpar compared to other Les Mills classes I've taken. Les Mills instructors are required to complete updated training twice a year to remain accredited, so this was a major red flag.

I've requested information from the gym and its director Parm Singh about whether any of the instructors are actually up to date, as required by Les Mills UK. However, after over 20 written requests, they still refuse to give me a straight answer. This leads me to believe that they know their instructors aren't up to date. After presenting evidence about the unqualified instructor, the gym finally cancelled my contract. However, I'm still waiting for a refund and information about the instructors.

If you're looking for a gym with real Les Mills classes and good customer service, I suggest going elsewhere. TruGym.co.uk just isn't worth the hassle.
