My son got his mouth fixed at *** Oral surgery and implant center in May . The bill was over $3000,00 and I paid $1500.00 on the day of the surgery. The remaining balance was $1520.00, which I filed with my dental insurance. The dental office didn't file it for some reason. After a few months, I asked the dental office if they received the check from my insurance company, but they said no. I called my insurance company, and they said they sent the check. This went on for a while until my son got a notice from Total Recovery services on September 24, saying he was sent to collections for the remaining balance +interest, which was $1569.64. I called my insurance company again, and they said they sent the check to the wrong address. I paid $1000,00 to TRS on [protected] and set up a payment arrangement to pay the rest. I am two payments away from paying it off, but TRS sent this to my son's credit report, which brought his score down 100 points. I am still under a contract with TRS to pay the balance, and now I know that reporting is up to the discretion of the collection agency. I think they did it because my son is young and to be jerks. What kind of business does this when I am making payments on time and trying to pay off the balance? ACCT # ***.
