Professional, quick response to our water leak in the wall of my kitchen. Robert came out that day to look at the issue, gave me a quote, that was very reasonable. I booked with him and he came the next day to do the work. Robert explained everything he was doing as he was doing the job. The overall experience with Thos R Birnie & Sons was excellent and I highly recommend their services.

Very happy with work done by Charlie! Answered all our questions about our bathroom sinks. Identified exactly where issues were and options to resolve them. When job was completed, we were very happy with how our sinks looked and functioned. Work site was left as it was before the job. I know nothing of plumbing but the young man that came from Thos R Birnie & Sons was very polite and knowledgeable. He did the job and explained what was needed to be done. I also asked about a company that I wanted to come in and do my bathroom, and he advised me to get several estimates, not just three, and go from there. He suggested that I could call them in to do the plumbing and they could check everything out to make sure the plumbing is done correctly. This was my first time using Birnies and Son, and I hope to see this plumber again.

Had a plumbing technician from Thos R Birnie & Sons in to quote me a price for a basement vertical drain pipe replacement job. The pipe had cracked and slightly separated. The tech also noted that one of the connecting pipes to the damaged pipe was the drain from my kitchen sink. It was running vertical but with a slight uphill run. Chalk it up to poor builder craftsmanship. I agreed that it had to be fixed as well.
I got a quote from Thos R Birnie & Sons for almost $1200. However, I called another plumbing company and they came out same day and had the repair done in under an hour for under $300.
I was extremely satisfied with the prompt and affordable service provided by the other plumbing company.

Had issues with a toilet and needed a new push drain in an existing sink. Determined that the toilet needed to be replaced. Thos R Birnie & Sons quoted me almost $1,000.00 for LABOUR ONLY - I was going to have to buy the toilet, push drain myself and dispose of the old one. Had the job done by someone else - it took less than 90 minutes and he did extra work that wasn't included in the quote from Thos R Birnie & Sons. All totaled $630.00, including a new toilet and drain which was brought to my house, I didn't pick up anything! Or dispose of anything! So Thos R Birnie & Sons thought I'd pay almost $700/hour for labour. Was it because I'm a woman, nearing retirement age? Or do they take advantage of everyone? Thos R Birnie & Sons should improve their pricing and customer service.

Quick and efficient service. We were looking for minimum needed repairs and Paul was only too helpful in getting plumbing back in order.

The representative provided an extremely cooperative and successful service. Communications with the office personnel were courteous and timely.

Thos R Bernie was very efficient. The invasive roots in the plumbing were a surprise while doing work in the main building trap. They handled this wonderfully and seamlessly to bring the right team so the entire job was completed at one time. Thank you.

Once the workman arrived, the job (main water shutoff valve) was successfully completed to my satisfaction. The only problem was getting the workman on site. A total failure of scheduling at Birnie forced me to call them 1 1/2 hours after expected arrival time, then wait 2 hours for appearance. Very poor performance.

Exorbitant price. Work done: unclogged kitchen drain; replaced 1 leaking elbow. For that I was charged over $1200. I would have sent them away if I hadn't already waited a week for them after they cancelled once. I believe in a fair price for work done but is that price at all reasonable? Would definitely never use them again.

Very quick service to repair a backed up floor drain in the basement. They had a service tech dispatched within 30 minutes. The technician was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Job was completed quickly and they provided detailed quotes about remedial options to prevent further damage. Very satisfied and will continue to use them!

Partially plugged main drain. Called and we scheduled for next morning. Arrived on time, inspected issue and gave us a quote. Completed job and even though it ran longer than they thought, the bill did not increase. Brought rugs in to protect our floor and cleaned area up when completed. Excellent job, reasonable and would definitely use this company again.

Not having a working toilet is a very stressful occurrence. Luckily, Paul at Thos R Birnie was available to install the toilet within a couple of hours of my call. Did it cost a lot? Of course, but it was worth every penny to ensure the job was done right and will last a long time. He used an upgraded (thicker) wax ring seal and upgraded closet (brass) bolts and secured the toilet so that we will have a trouble free experience for many years to come. If Paul is indicative of TRB employees then they are a very fine company. ðŸ'¯
