Worst App Ever
I am extremely disappointed with children’s place app and website functionality. The app is way to slow, there’s a huge disconnect with apples Face ID to login (don’t even bother enabling it) and NO it’s not an apple issue as I login in to multiple apps with apple’s face recognition. I dislike the fact the captcha appears after you try to login instead of it showing up when you’re logging in (this requires you to reenter your login information all over again). Needless to say Children’s Place app was poorly designed and needs a major overhaul. I would suggest the design team create a separate login (not a test account) and use the app like a consumer, I guarantee you will find numerous bugs (I’ve found 10 so far)...call me if you like me to identify them. Needless to say I won’t be shopping at children’s place any time soon.
Consumers use apps for the connivence of not having to shop in a store. At this point I would rather go into a children’s place store than to use their app and I hate going into a store to shop. I guess this will be my last purchase with Children’s Place.
Mixed Signals?
I placed an order for ONE ITEM (the item showed “in stock-online only” at the time of my purchase AND at the time of my call). I used a $15 my place reward, so my total was $2 and some change. The order was cancelled after sitting in limbo for at least one week. Interestingly, my rewards were gone as well. I checked the item page just to verify that it was not out of stock, and then I finally called in (this call was placed 2 weeks later). The Rep I spoke with was struggling to understand my need, but I finally got through to him. He advised that the app was messed up, and that quite often, items will be out of stock and still show IN STOCK for hours.. maybe even days! Ok, that’s great, but this is 2 weeks later. Then he told me it was in stock in the size I needed, then he told me he only had a 12m. When I asked WHICH 12m (9-12 or 12-18), he said it was out of stock altogether. I just placed another order for the SAME ITEM in the SAME SIZE, because it STILL SHOWS that it is an in stock item. Let’s see if it shows up this time... If not, I just won’t shop at any of the children’s place branded locations again.
App is frustrating!
The app continually freezes up so I have to keep closing it and it is so slow when shopping. Favorites will never load which is so frustrating because I like to order items from my favorites list. I have to go out of the app to the website to pull them up & put them in my bag then switch back to the app. If I have an item in my bag that I want to double check before purchasing, you can’t tap on the item to view the product and full details, you have to go back to “shop” then go back to the bag. I don’t have time to keep going back and forth or to deal with the app scrolling so slowly. Also, with the favorites list being unable to load, I forgot to order a few items...too frustrated to go back and order now...oh well money lost for them. This app is so disappointing because I really love The Children’s Place and they have really great specials.
They state that you can earn reward points for downloading the app but I didn’t see those points appear.
Also, would be nice to have a Save for Later option; especially since favorites list won’t work with the app.
Hoping they will get these issues fixed soon or I’ll probably delete the app.
The worst shopping experience ever
I've been a Children's Place shopper for over 10 years. Within the past few years , the online shopping experience has been a nightmare. It has become so bad at this point ,that I don't even want to shop at the Children's Place anymore. Tonight I go to make a purchase and I start with the app. The app won't let me see any details on the items I want to see. So I decide to try the app on my IPad. That was even worse. The app was slow and froze the whole time. I start up my laptop. Finally , I get everything in my cart and I go to sign in. Well, I can't log in. The message pops up telling me to wait a few seconds before logging in again. First of all, I've never logged in prior to that login. I repeat the whole shopping process again ,only to be shown the same message at login. I have restarted my laptop, cleaned all my files out ,and still I get this message. So the app and the website are both terrible. I have lost promos and rewards I've earned because I will try again in a few days until eventually my codes expire. This situation needs to be fixed. The Children's Place merchandise is great, but the shopping experience makes it not worth it.
Very upset
I have used and love this app for about a good 3 years. In that time I have changed my phone twice, always Android to Android. I’ve never had a problem recovering the app with my account.
This year, I let my daughter talk me into getting an iPhone. Didn’t think I was going to have soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many problems recovering my account. Since I used my fingerprint to log in naturally I forgot my password. No problem I just get it sent to my email. Cool, right? WRONG! I received the link and by the time I used the link to reset my password the link had EXPIRED! I did this at least 20 times, I’m not exaggerating! Finally after an hour of frustration, I created a new account using my husbands email. Because it should not had been that frustrating to recover my account. I have points on my old account that now are gone because your stupid app is being retarded. Even this morning I tried again, still the same thing. By the time I go from the app to my email and back to the app it tells me “the password link has expired, please try again or call customer service”. Even though the email says the link expires in 24 hours
Best Children’s Store!
I use to ALWAYS shop at The Children’s Place when my 3 older Children were younger. They grew out of the sizes of course as they grew older, so unfortunately we had to retire from our FAVORITE STORE! But hey now I AM BACK! To make a long story short, I started all over again & have my new little guy who will grow to love The Children’s Place just like his big Sister’s & Brother did. I just made my first purchase online & so excited that I can once again enjoy shopping for my little guy here. I followed the sizing guide on the site & I’m really hoping everything fits him well. My baby will be a year old next month & he is in a size 12-18 months based off the store sizing guide. I buy him 18 months at other stores & they fit him well. He weighs 20 pounds, 11 ounces & he is 32 inches long. So I decided to go with size 12-18 months, I did get 1 of his jackets in 18-24 months only because the reviews said it ran small. I hesitated a little & wanted to get him 18-24 months, but he is tall & thin & any bigger I think the pants will fall off of his waist. Fingers are crossed over here!
I will update this post once we receive our 1 order of many more to come in the future!
A Couple Major Gripes about the App
Love the store but app needs improvement. The user interface needs to show payment and product availability messages as a permanent pop up in the center of the Checkout screen, instead of a message that flashes temporarily at the top of the screen. This way the customer can immediately see why the payment may not be going though.
While trying to checkout, I encountered multiple failed attempts at placing the order. Multiple attempts with ApplePay seemed to go well, initially, but ended with no order confirmation. I had to call customer service and my bank to see if the transaction had gone through without duplicates. It had not. I, then, tried completing the order through the app’s Checkout page, but got the same result. It wasn’t until I scrolled to the top of the checkout page to see a message flash about product availability that I realized this was the problem. Not sure what the issue was with the ApplePay because it seemed to go through fine.
I was prompted to “update” the items in the cart to complete the order. However, the app did not specify which item(s) were no longer available, so I had to check each item one by one. Very tedious and inefficient. PLEASE FIX
Fav store, sometimes glitchy app
This is my favorite place to shop for my son’s clothes, especially since it’s two stores in one now. Super cute stuff and usually the prices are very reasonable, and the quality is always good. The app is sometimes glitchy but it doesn’t usually last long. So 4 stars for the app, but 5 stars for the store and definitely 5 stars for free shipping! I buy SO MUCH through this app because of the free shipping. I’ll go on the app to buy something my son needs, like jeans, and then see a million adorable things he all of a sudden “needs” too. I usually buy the item I came for and a couple other things, but then I’ve seen what else is on there and end up back for more, often several times in the same week, because it’s so easy to talk myself into it when the prices are so good AND there is free shipping! It’s almost always fast shipping too. PLUS they have slim sizes for my string bean kid, and sizes go through the big kid range. I’m dreading the day my son outgrows their biggest size. Would love to see a pre-teen range, even if it’s just basics. The price for the quality can’t be beat these days. I’ve only once had a problem with quality (a small hole in some new PJs), and they took care of it right over the phone with no hassle.
Ridiculous
I’ve ordered from the children’s place before, last year to be exact, just not from the app. I used safari to place the order. It was great and was pleased with everything. This year though. Nope. Will never be using the app after this again. I did I big order for my son, around $650. This was on a Wednesday afternoon at 1. It said the items would be delivered by Saturday. They didn’t ship at all until Friday! Aside from that, some of the items I ordered got cancelled, why? Probably because they were out of stock but didn’t update when I placed the order. Fine whatever. It was two shirts. They said I wouldn’t be charged for them, and they were clearance so I expected to see the $3.98 back in my bank account, but when I went to check they took $593 out of my bank account on top of the $650 they had already taken out for the original order. I am furious, to say the least. My son has picture day on the 24th, and now his new clothes won’t be here until the 29th. And they double charged me, as well as cancelled even more items. I expect my refunded money by tomorrow morning, if not I will be calling to cancel the full order and will never bother with this app again. Next time I’ll just be shopping from the physical store itself. Faster and better experience, I’m sure.
Customer Service
I have been ordering from your company for 8 years now and my last purchase was a nightmare! 3 different ways they told me my order was delivered. Customer pick up, UPS Sure post, and USPS. Never received my package at all! The customer service phone number for 4 days was closed. So I emailed Customer Service and they told me to go call the post office and check with them and look around my house. I was insulted that I had to be inconvenienced and try to locate my package by calling who? The post office, UPS? Finally I called the Customer Service number again and someone answered to only be told my package delivered... and that’s it!
I said that’s it? Where’s my package then? Where’s my credit or replacement order? Once again I was told we are sorry but there’s nothing we can do . Ok I need a manager now please... manager basically tells me the same thing and offers me a $75 rewards card. I said why can’t you just reship my order out? CS does not do that she said they don’t take credit cards. I said great because I don’t need to give you one because I already paid for my order! They couldn’t even renter my order I had to go back on the website and reorder everything that I didn’t get! Ughhhh the worst experience ever! I can’t believe how they didn’t feel the need to file a claim or follow up with the carrier. They pushed this off to the customer! I’m done with this company for good! I’m a Customer Service Manager for a living and I would never tell my customer “sorry I can’t help you because it shows your package delivered”
The most frustrating company I’ve ever ordered from
Let me begin by stating how much I love this company’s clothing. I have been a cardholder for over a year now and I am constantly buying clothes in large quantities, for my two kiddos.
Out of the last several large orders I’ve placed I have been paying for the second level of shipping for $15 - I think it’s like an expedited option but not overnight.
I do this because every single time they go to ship out my items, they are sending me an email stating that half of my order has been cancelled due to lack of stock and refunds me that part of the order. I’ve had half of an outfit cancelled on me for a Christmas order once before, that was being ordered as a gift. So the kid had sweatpants but no matching shirt or sweatshirt.
This last time, I placed another large order just to have half of it cancelled. One of the items was a boys American flag T-shirt that is still showing in stock in my son’s particular size, so I just reordered it ! My question is - why was this item cancelled if I can go on right now and still purchase it?
Y’all need to get your systems in check because I’m this close to cancelling my card and saying enough is enough. There are plenty of other clothiers out there for kids that have just as cute of items, that I can go get their CC too! It’s 2020, there is zero reason why you can’t obtain an inventory system that is close to real time! I should be having half of my orders canceled every single time ! This never used to be a problem! And you can’t blame COVID either because this started last year!

Really irritated
The app itself is alright. The shipping on their orders is RIDICULOUS & not in a good way.
FIRST: I ordered 26 items on July 2nd, ONE item from that order shipped immediately and was here within a week. Then, “25” items took 10 days to ship & arrived 2 days later (7/14). I didn’t receive two shirts from my order & it says they have been delivered. I’m assuming they should have been with the rest of my package.
SECOND: despite my gut feeling, I went ahead and ordered my older girls clothes through them because I’m trying not to take them out in public during a pandemic.
I ordered 48 more items on July 10. They were shipped sporadically, I received 2 packages within a couple of days and then most of my remaining order on 7/14 with my first order. I thought “wow that’s better!” Only to find out that I’m missing two items from that order as well.
I sent them an email on 7/12 & they sent a canned apology response for delayed shipping with a $10 coupon code.
I also left multiple NEGATIVE reviews about their shipping when they prompted it on my order page.
& they have not yet reached out to me about my order personally.
I assume they just don’t care because I’m sure they get plenty of business.
If someone from the company leaves a response in this review don’t tell me that the reason my deliveries were having problems due to COVID or safety. We all know that it’s BS. Just give me my money back for the 4 items that are missing & then I will proceed to shop elsewhere in the future to avoid the stress of paying for things that I never receive. Thank you.
Don’t use this app
At first I thought this app would be helpful I would be able to look at good sales good clearance deals and order it all from my phone for in-store pick up. I’ve had this app for probably around a year now, it was always good for that purpose. Except when I placed an order on the app for in-store pick up for a single pair of pants for school on. I place the order at 4:25 PM I pulled up to the mall in which children’s place is inside at 6 PM. To uncover that my order wasn’t even processed and received at the store. But yet the money for the purchase had been taken from my account. Upon trying to use the app to then cancel the order since it was not received you will be told that it is impossible to cancel an order that is not received yet at the store. Putting me in a bind considering I could not afford 2 pairs of pants at the moment. Reaching out through the app for customer support is a negative, you must either call or email. Calling did nothing considering the kind customer service rep behind the phone could barely distinguish what I was saying in English. I was then told by the on the phone customer service rep to go in store to receive a refund. When I went in the store I was told in store that I would have to get my refund published through the online customer service. I strongly recommend not using the app and just sticking to in-store purchasing. That would also be some thing I would recommend that we look into fixing for this app is getting chat available services to be able to discuss customers experiences and/or problems in a quicker and easier to handle manner.
Needs major overhaul !
This will probably be my very last order from the children’s place. I tried unsuccessfully for over two hours to make this purchase using my ,children’s place ,credit card. I used my iPad to make this purchase, looking forward to getting a special price because I was using your credit card. Unfortunately even after making eight attempts , waiting on the phone while being connected to three different techs who failed to fix the problem , and working with them , installing ,”the place “,app and being totally frustrated because nothing they told me to do worked I was forced to use another credit card thereby not getting the discount . My “ the children place “,credit card does not have a expiration date or a security code number on it , but the screen would not allow me to complete my purchase without them. The techs I spoke to told me to do numerous things , which I did but nothing worked. Shopping online is a huge convenience because I am handicapped. I dare to say it is the only way I shop now. However if I have to spend so much time and effort , and be so frustrated to get an ordered placed and not be allowed to use your credit card so I can get the extra points and discounts I will now shop elsewhere. I am quite sure I am not the only one who faced this problem, I am the only one who cared to make you aware of it. No one ever suggested that I could get a newer updated credit card or if that were even possible. Instead they told me I should use my computer, which I don’t have , to make my purchases , and I would not have this problem. In essence their advise and help made it impossible for me to ever utilize your online service again. Competition , I am sure is fierce , so this policy clearly puts your company at a huge disadvantage. I am afraid you will go the way of so many other companies. I will be sad to see you go !
Change in Clothing and Message
As a mother of 6 children, I used to shop at Children’s Place a lot. Like sometimes $200 a month. I bought your jeans, fleece, Christmas dresses and shoes, pj’s, leggings and graphic tees. Lately, I cannot even stand to be on your website or app. Clearly, you have new designers in house. The attitude of your clothing is appaling. As a mother trying to raise 3 boys and 3 girls to be honest, productive, hardworking, ethical, kind adults I wouldn’t go near your graphic tee clothing line right now. Tees like,

I am absolutely disgusted. The attitude, disrespect and laziness of this clothing is disgusting. Why would I want my kids headed to school with attitudes like this on their shirts. Does this help them make friends, be kind, be helpful and motivated to do good in school. Absolutely not.
I am also appalled at all the off the shoulder clothing and short shorts for my little girls. Who up and changed your signature style? My girls were constantly being complimented on their cute long shorts. Now, I am not a prude by any means, but kids need to have age appropriate clothing and a 6 year old with off the shoulder shirts is immodest.
So in response, I am discontinuing my purchases with Children’s Place. You can look up my account and see just how much over the years I have spent with you. $1,000’s of dollars. Your jeans are quality as are your shoes and leggings. I will check back from time to time to see if something has changed. But I cannot in good conscious continue to spend our money on clothes at your store when your message is negative, disrespectful and unkind.

Quality of fabric and sizing have changed
We have been loyal Children’s Place customers since our daughter was born. It has been great to buy the same or similar style in a bigger size to grow along with our little fashionista. The toddler selection was top notch, with the best fitting jeans and cutest tops, dresses, matching shoes and accessories available. With jackets, coats, snow pants, shoes/boots, gloves, swimwear, hair accessories/jewelry, purses, bags, sunglasses, pajamas and underwear, this really was our one stop shop for outfitting our daughter.
The selection of clothes decreased a bit once she reached school age due to the focus on school uniforms, which we do not require. However, it was still easy for miss fashionista to choose a large part of her wardrobe each season as the years went by. Our family appreciates the matching holiday pajamas, t-shirts and dresses. Everything we purchased in the past, lasted several seasons for us and I was able to order in multiple sizes for our daughter. So, your clothes became part of several holiday traditions and gave us many memorable pictures :)
I would give 5 stars but over the past 2-3 years, the quality of items purchased has changed dramatically. Fabrics are thinner, prone to shrinking and the sizing changed! I donated an entire season of items with the tags still on because they were too small, despite being the next size up. It’s as if everything went up a size! So, a medium became a large. For reference, our daughter fit a large in Cat & Jack clothing, but had to go up to an XL in Children’s Place.
We tried some Sugar & Jade items, thinking that perhaps the new line was meant to fit tween sized girls, but not only was the selection small, way too “mature” for our daughter’s liking, the few items she did try were way too big. Overall, the line of clothes is oddly shaped and very ill fitting. Returns are difficult so I cannot recommend Sugar & Jade AT ALL.
I understand the world is recovering and with supply chain issues, etc. Children’s Place has adapted as best as possible. I miss the quality of the old fabrics. The new ones are prone to shrinking, despite washing on gentle in cold water and drying on the lowest setting or laying flat to dry. The Sugar & Jade line is not the answer we were looking for, so after 11+ years, we’re putting in our last order from a VERY limited selection of items. Luckily, there are some dresses for women this spring that will fit our daughter and are styled to her expectations, lol.
Overall, I want to Thank You, Children’s Place! Your customer service has always been excellent (not including Sugar & Jade), your store employees have been kind and always helpful. I hope you can go back to the higher quality fabrics you used to use in the future so others can enjoy your brand the way our family has.
I’m Glad to Know I’m Not the Only One
Firstly I will say that I do love The Children’s Place clothing and in-store shopping (at some locations). In fact I even opened a My Place card with them after vowing 10+ years ago I would never open store cards again, I may be a little bit of a shopaholic and since having my tot 2 years ago... um, yeah
I was initially happy with my decision though and given their great sales and fair prices I never had a second thought about it; until- I began relying more so on online shopping as I’d relocated and was over 2 hrs away from the nearest store.
At first it wasn’t so bad, but over time every time I would try to shop and spend my money with them, I was unable to do so because the App was CONSTANTLY freezing and crashing.
I can only recall being able to have my favorites load and available for viewing ONE time. However I thought maybe it was something specifically with my phone or internet connection because all these issues just kept slowing appearing and then continuing to get worse. Now I’m reading the same complaints in the reviews, plus I’ve even relocated to a different state with a new internet provider and was having the exact same issues.
Trying to add my Place Cash to my account has literally been a NIGHTMARE, but the incident that has completely changed my way of thinking when it comes to shopping for my Little was when I literally lost a $50 reward and a $10 reward at the same time because I had BEEN TRYING to redeem them online for a couple days before they had expired. I’d intentionally kept the $50 reward and not used it in-store on a couple different occasions because I’d been saving it for a special purchase even, well what good that done me I wasn’t too concerned the few days before the expiration date bc surely “I would be able to get an order to go through and a reward to work that was in my Wallet app even”. Wrong. The day & night of the expiration date I literally wasted hours of my life on this App, the dot com site & even otp with customer service. So when midnight rolled around and still no success and just a couple of minutes later Wallet had my Reward as inapplicable because it had expired, I was very irritated to say the least. So the very next day I drove over 2 hrs one way to the nearest store thinking surely a company is been loyal to and spent a lot of money with could/would come up with some sort of solution or at least give me a 10% off code for my next purchase, right? Nope wrong. Not even an apology. I realize losing $60 isn’t the biggest tragedy that’s ever been, but when there is a problem that’s continually been going on for at least a year now and no progress has been made to their online shopping services and then their employees don’t even attempt to make it up to customers... it just leaves me not even wanting to open the app to attempt to see if it’s been fixed when it comes time to buy children’s clothing. This is not the only problem or incident I’ve had with TCP online shopping experience either.
I’ve been genuinely thinking of closing my account with them if at least the app performance doesn’t improve bc in-store just isn’t a visible option for me anymore.

Bad Update

This app is horrible. It constantly stops working, opens up categories I never even clicked on, and takes things out of your cart for no reason so you have to go on a goose chase trying to find the items again! You’re better off using the website.

There is a maximum amount of favorites you can have?! Takes 30 seconds to delete/save items to favorites, I’m not being paid by the minute to sit and wait while the app is working. I have not used it in a few months have seen zero improvement.

So I’ve had this app since it started, since I finally did the update today I can’t see my cart it won’t even allow me to log in just keep giving me the same message ERROR! The only error I see happening right now is this STUPID update they did! So frustrated that I can’t purchase my sons clothing before the sale ends!

After the new update, the app logged me out. When I tried to log back in, it kept saying error occurred. So I assumed I was inputting my password wrong. After several tries, I finally decided to reset my password. Again, ‘error occurred!’ I can log in through the web fine but not through the app. This is truly frustrating!

I ordered some clothes then next 2-3 days I had to update this app then when it was done I tried to log in I wouldn’t let me I was scared for my life since I ordered something I couldn’t log in at all and had to go on Safari and I could log in I couldn’t log in on the app then a couple days later it said I didn’t order anything. Don’t get this app it will take more then 10 days if u don’t pay money
