Aside from the lottery being A losing proposition itself the app is even worse. When it works it works great but it requires many updates. It frequently becomes non-functioning and the only thing to do is delete the app reload and then type in all your information again. Photo is of six consecutive tickets purchased with zero winner. Not the same odds as described on the back of the tickets. My resolution is to delete the app and put the money I normally spend on lottery in a jar and save it. Night

Every store I go to to buy tickets have difficulty scanning the codes generated. It takes several efforts and at times the cashiers are reluctant to scan the code.
Update: scanning my lotto ticket is really great now. I haven’t tried generating a code to buy tickets lately, so I’m not sure if there is an improvement there.
I would like to see the app generate a scan code for multiple picks on the same ticket. I am not a fan of one entry per ticket, if I have 5 sets of numbers, I would like them all on one ticket.

Okay I love the app! My ladies where I buy my lottery tickets do too! I created my list of lottery numbers and when I went into the store so they could scan the bar code they were like, “what do I do?” Now they wish all the customers would use the app instead of the paper slips.
I love that I can scan the bar code to see if I am a winner! Makes it soooo convenient!
The only thing I would change is that when the app opens, it Scrolls through the different app applications. It would be nice if it didn’t scroll. Other than that it’s great!

The bar code scan function is not working for scratch-off and LuckZone. Luckily I have an Android phone I can use as a backup to scan the scratch-offs.

Perhaps Texas Lotto and IGT can get in gear to fix this issue fast, quick and in a hurry.

I gave one star because this should not be happening considering the amount of money Texas Lotto and IGT pull in and the obvious convenience the scan feature of the application is. I primarily use an iPhone 11, but will use an Android to access the scanning of bar codes.

Please fix ASAP for iPhone!

I recently updated the Texas Lottery app. I don’t normally install an update for about six months because they often have problems, but it seems like I was forced to on this one. Now it will no longer scan the bar codes on my tickets. It keeps giving an error code of “invalid bar code.” I went to the lottery retailer and told him I needed him to scan the ticket and told him why. He said the exact same thing happened to his phone also. Don’t update right now until they get this fixed. This is really the only reason I got the app in the first place.

App is great for it’s purpose but after a recent update I had the same issue scanning tickets that someone else recently posted about on Dec 20, 2021. I also had an issue with “Win at Gifting”, which is an add line at the bottom of the app, taking up half the screen. Decided to delete the app and all it’s data then reinstall. It’s back to normal. Scanner works great again. Unsure why an update would do this and a reinstall fixed it but tends to work on other apps too. Having these problems? Try what I did… I hope this post helps some people as I usually don’t post reviews.

The app doesn’t support IPhone 8... The phone has been on the market for over a month now and your app has yet to evolve. Maybe the app developer needs to pay attention to technology changes if they want to play in the technology business. While you work to allow your app to work on the IPhone 8 why don’t you also take away the annoying automatic wheel spinning menu when we first open the app. I open the app to check my tickets, but your spinning menu makes me wait for the wheel to stop spinning before I can make my selection. The options menu needs to be static and not dynamic.

Enjoy the app but lately it’s been horrible ! The ticket scanner was working fine then a new update and now the app is bugged out. DOESNT load then when it does the ticket scanner doesn’t work ? Don’t fox things that are not broken ! Ps. Your new ticket 50x ? I get a 5x symbol on the ticket so I’m thinking cool at least a $25 winner because it’s a $5 scratcher. I scratch and it’s $2 under the 5x ? There are no $2 prizes so why is there one under the 5x ! Hope the sales on these are way down. I’ve been letting every one I know and customers in stores that these new tickets are scams !

I can’t seem to reset my password. I’ve checked my trash and spam inbox as I was supposed to receive a link to update password. I’m unable to access any features due to not being able to login.
It sometimes doesn’t show the amount you have won when you scan tickets. It’s just a white box with ok inside. It would be nice if you can link to your bank account to make receiving payment much easier.
Could they adjust the app where you can mix the main numbers or QP for the jackpots? Example you could mix QP’ing the main numbers or pick your own Powerball, Mega Millions, Texas 2 Step Bonus ball numbers.

You used to be able to create multi-play lotto tickets for Texas Lotto, Powerball, and Megamillions and get a single barcode that the store attendant could scan on the lotto machine and it would print out tickets for all three lottos. With this update of the app, you now have to scan a QR code for each of those lottos individually. This involves walking the store attendant through paging through the QR codes, hope they don’t scan the same one twice, and deal with the poor scanning capabilities of the lotto machines. Please please please go back to a single QR code for all of your lucky number plays.

Why do you keep changing the website. I think it’s because you don’t want people to know how many people are losing. It’s getting harder and harder to win even on the scratch offs. You have to buy 10 tickets before you even win $10 on a$10 ticket.Two times I have bought six $20 tickets in a row and one absolutely nothing it’s a freaking joke tickets. Also, now that you’ve updated it, I can’t use the app at all. It keeps saying I need to buy some thing. Why don’t you leave it. If people like the old version better, why don’t you just leave it where they can use it Maybe people don’t like the new version

It’s scans the tickets all right but it’s missing a key feature that the website has. I enjoy math I like statistics if the number two showed up 59 times more than any other number and the Powerball that’s kind information I want to know. I would like to be able to have the option on the app to check and see the amount of times my lucky numbers have hit in last year or month and other statistical inquiries like that. Such as have all of the major price is already been claimed on a scratch off. If so I’d like to play a different scratch off that’s the kind information you can’t get standing at the gas station asking the clerk.

Was at the convenience store and saw a notice that there was an app. Went to the App Store and downloaded the app - saw the reviews ran heavy towards the negative, especially about the scan feature.

When I went to scan my first ticket, the app and the phone camera locked up. I went back to the beginning and started again - camera worked fine, scanning worked fine (except for the fact that I was scanning known losing tickets and the app agreed that they were losing tickets ).

I need to get a winning ticket and test the scanner. I need to get a winning ticket...maybe the State of Texas would like to send me some, for research purposes only of course.

It won’t scan tickets. When it does, it is wrong. You may possibly be throwing away more money but they don’t care they have your money and get to keep your if you win by the looks of the same amount of complains for a long time now! The new format is nice but it cannot keep up w interactivity for the scanner! Mine went from scanning, to not scanning, to saying my brand new phone I received as a gift that is the latest model doesn’t have the capability to scan, to now saying unable to scan see retailer. When I went to several different retailers when they Two Step was high. So, it is all the application. Not that many cashiers and retail places could make the same mistake!

Bar code scanner has not worked for more than a year, most important part of the app! Have to be totally incompetent not to fix it. Maybe try different languages might understand.

I sent this email to the Texas Lottery Commission IT Dept:
“Attn App Developers, Please update the phone application: My Lucky Numbers for all games - Add Quick Pick selection (Yes/No) - Add Number of Tickets selection”
They replied with:

“The Texas Lottery Commission receives suggestions that are the same as, or similar to, projects being worked on by members of our own staff or by others with whom we have written agreements. Because of intellectual property issues, we do not accept unsolicited submissions. The Texas Lottery Commission has a contract with IGT Corporation to provide our lottery operations and services. You may want to contact them regarding your product. IGT’s corporate headquarters address is GTECH Center, 10 Memorial Blvd., Providence, RI 02903.”

Love this app! It’s been great for checking my lottery scratch off tickets, scanning and uploading the ones into the second chance drawings , keeping up with the newly released tickets and which scratchers are coming to an end of game close…. But 3 days ago the app was “closed for a scheduled maintenance and would be back shortly” … im disappointed because I have more “second chance drawing” tickets to add to the drawing for what I hope (and pray) to eventually be my time to shine (in other words for my chance to actually win big for once) and change mine and my sons life… can’t have the opportunity/chance if I’m not able to upload tickets that I have purchased within that specific time frame the lotto has put out there for the games….
I’m hopeful that the Texas lottery commission gets this maintenance finished soon so that I may one day have my chance at changing mine and my sons life!

App layout is fine with the exception of the opening spinning screen each time I open it.

Issues or improvements:

Needs to have a cloud base login if to save favorites to so you can see them via an online website or another IOS device

Would like to be notified if my favorites are winning numbers without having to scan the tickets. Like to go one further and know when I do a favorite if it has ever had any kind of a pay out.

I also created a batch of favorite numbers and took the QC code to be scanned by the lotto retailer. Two things that agitated me about the process and I am sure the retailer too. He had to slide my screen NINE times to scan all the QC codes. Every QC code generated a single ticket on a single page instead of batching all tickets for one print where you get ten tickets per sheet.

Get these two items the login cloud and the retailer experience improved I can see this being a 4 or 5 star rated app.

Can’t check anything! Can’t access old app! Only get a pic of a hand saying be back later-only later never comes. Only ways to remove it is to turn off phone or delete app which says this new app IS a bug! I guess that’s one way to avoid paying folks!No stars isn’t an option but should be! Meanwhile, all my entries are gone with the old app that I can’t access! Utterly ridiculous!

I’ ve downloadEd this crap 5 times since last night and deleted it four! Can’t even check a scratch ticket! This is the sixth time I’m reporting it and nobody even cares that it’s worthless! Honestly I think it’s intentional! They just keep sending out the same message while doing nothing about the problem! The same hand is locked on my iPhone saying be back soon while it has Never worked & I can no longer access the previous app that did work! If we check our tickets, we don’t
Know we’ve won, and they don’t have to pay us! Nice scam!

Application is okay but poorly designed and can’t scale. Trying to check my tickets and literally the app is just spinning and spinning under load. I’m sure there are lots of people checking numbers after big lotto drawing but applications these days should scale on load and be able to handle spontaneous volume.

This app used to be good at scanning barcodes for results. Now, not so much. Like the title said, six tickets scanned, only 3 were identified as readable barcodes. The other 3 nothing happened. No damage to any of the tickets read under the same conditions. This app has seriously degraded from where it was.

This app was simple and way to navigate I used it for years no problem. It tell you everything you need to know by spinning a wheel now I gotta register just to use the app and half the time I just get a blank page. I don’t who messed this app up but I hope someone realizes that this version ain’t it it’s terrible

This app would be great except for the one thing that need to function: the scanner!
I am always having trouble getting the scanner to work. Sometimes it opens but then immediately tries to scan too fast and gets an error message. Other times it doesn’t work at all.
Bad app that has a simple solution to fix if the Lottery Commission actually wanted to fix it

First, why does it require a separate QR code for each ticket? It used to be that you could generate one code. Also, the scan of ticket bar codes does not work. Maybe once out of 100 scans it is accurate. Maybe I should just play the lottery in my neighboring state since their app works perfectly every time! That way Texas gets absolutely none of my money to play!

Regardless of the reason, every time there’s a big jackpot, the next day you can’t use this app. It completely fails to open and if it does, it can’t load anything to be useful. I’m sure it’s a capacity issue, it can’t handle too many people at once. So it’s great when the jackpot is low but if it gets up in price, the app will not be able to help you with your tickets.

The most frustrating part of this app is the terrible barcode scanner. It scans properly about 1% of the time. The app needs an scanner upgrade! The app cannot scan draw tickets…it scans scratch tickets ok but never draw tickets like lotto Texas and powerball. I noticed all the app upgrades but it’s laughable. I’ve tried with my IPad and Android device with no success scanning.

After filling out the registration It wouldn’t let me register by saying, ‘the system is currently not working.’ I tried later and It said my email and password were not valid. The screens pop up and down as you try to touch the tabs. I gave up and deleted It. I think they are making it way more difficult than it should be so people won’t use it, thereby saving the state money.

The recent update is awful! It takes forever to load & when it finally does, it’s just a white screen w/ the menu option on the left The scanner doesn’t work, it just keeps saying my device doesn’t support it…if that’s the case then all apple users are out of luck! I tried deleting & re-installing the app AND restarting my phone…nothing! I liked the old app better - it actually worked!

Why can't we check our damaged tickets manually. When the app first came out I believe you could or it was before the app was created. It was just like how you enter the second chance tickets manually. Enter the number on the back and then the number beside the bar code. This really needs try to be an option. If the stores can check them that way then why can't we check them on the app?

I am not sure what has happened, it seems as though this app has started to freeze up for some reason not really sure what’s going on. I know prior to the update everything was working fine I’m not really sure when this is going to be resolved however I do enjoy the app but right now not so much just wanting to know when are you gonna make the updates to stop all of the freezing going on?

The newest update changed the icon to solid blue; and the other icon was so easy to find, with a glance. The worst thing, though, is that the scanner is malfunctioning. It still scans scratch off tickets most of the time; but it is not recognizing printed tickets. The unreliability of the scanner is rather annoying. I like the website a lot better; and I only used the app for scanning tickets as a double verification.

In the terms and conditions, it clearly states-and I quote- “ the information made available through the mobile application shall not constitute evidence of an official lottery ticket or claim for prize payment. Only an official ticket purchased at a Texas Lottery licensed retailer location may be the basis for a valid Texas Lottery claim.” This means you can purchase a ticket via the app, but if you win- they do NOT have to honor your ticket.

I have used the previous version of this app many times in the past without issue - yes it might’ve looked a little outdated, but it scanned all lottery tickets successfully and quickly which is what I am guessing 95% of users download this to do. The new updated version of this app might visually look more modern, but that doesn’t even matter since the app takes 10 minutes to load even one screen and the scanner doesn’t work. Completely useless.

The app was a great tool to check numbers, scan tickets, and keep track of winning scratch tickets along with unclaimed jackpots. The update runs the app too slow. It crashes, fails to scan tickets, and did I mention too slow? The speed of the app is equivalent to downloading a movie using a 1994 dial up connection. Texas Lottery, please allocate some funds to immediately roll out an app that measures up to the amount of capital gained by your business.

This app is good overall. It’s so convenient that you can scan your tickets using the app and instantly find out if it’s a winner or not. Also. I like the fact that it shows the dates of the drawings and the numbers from the most recent game. I do wish there was a way once you scan a winning ticket it saved the ticket information and the amount you won. Maybe once you scan a ticket it can track how much you spent vs how you’ve won overall based on the tickets you scan with the app.
