Smart Energy Inc installed solar panels but there were problems: some panels and the inverter didn't work. We complained in July , right after installation. They replaced a faulty panel, but that affected other panels and the inverter. We waited over a month for new parts and had high bills because we weren't producing enough solar energy. Finally, on September 31 they replaced the inverter and panel, but damaged another panel. We complained several times and got a $100 credit for high bills from FPL. On 10/5, a manager was rude and promised to call back but hasn't.

Florida Smart Energy sold me solar panels with the promise that I wouldn't have to pay anything upfront. They said I'd get a tax rebate of $16,000 and lower electric bills. But it wasn't fully explained to me, and now I have a $48,000 loan that I don't qualify for. I can't even get the tax rebate because my income is too low. My real estate taxes have doubled to pay for this loan, and I might lose my home. I think they took advantage of me because I'm older and a woman. The interest rates are high, even though they're low everywhere else. The salesman didn't do a good job of figuring out if I could afford the panels. I hired Smart Energy Inc to put in solar panels at my house. Since then, I've had a lot of problems. I contacted the company and it took them 8 months to fix it. After many calls and complaints, they finally gave me a refund for overpaying FLP. They agreed in the contract that I would only pay less than 35% every month, but I was overpaying by $120 to $180 for 8 months because the solar panels weren't working. They refunded me around $500. Unfortunately, the system only worked for 2 more years. At the beginning of 2021, the system went down again, but now there's a new guy in charge named Mr.. It took 11 months to fix the issue again. During my complaints to Mr., he agreed to reimburse all my FPL overpayments after the system was fixed. It took about four different technicians to come to my home and solve the issue. Finally, the problem was resolved last month. I contacted Mr., who promised to return my overpayments of $500. Unfortunately, he lied and told me that he invested too much money fixing my problems. I responded that it's under warranty and his responsibility. Mr. bargained with me to only give me $250. In addition, he wanted me to sign a contract agreement to give away future customers' rights. I didn't agree with him, and that's why I'm asking for your help. This is the worst business deal I've ever made. This company is taking advantage of its customers.
