I arrived at the store location at South Common Mall 2126 Burnhamthorpe Rd W Mississauga, ON L5L 3A2 on November 27, 2023 20 minutes before the closing and wanted to purchase post stamps. I was informed by the person at the register that she has already counted the stamps and they are in the safe, therefore she cannot sell them to me. I asked to speak with the store manager and this person confirmed that because there is only one person working at the department they already "counted the stamps" and cannot sell them. He stated that whether customers can purchase post stamps at this time or not depends on the day and on "how it goes". I find this explanation so bizarre and disrespectful to customers that I will definitely share this experience online and will not be purchasing from this store anymore. I went to the store late because it was important to me to mail something that night and the store staff just casually advise that I come back next day. In my opinion, everything the stores sells should be sold until the store closes and do not understand these exceptions, especially since there is no message anywhere that states different times for different products; it appears that this is decided based on the convenience of the staff who wants to do their closing duties before they close the store.

Desired outcome: I would like a response with an explanation: is this practice approved by the Head office. I would like a commitment to ensuring that such situation will never take place again in any of your locations.
