Samsung refuses to stand behind their product. I purchased a samsung side by side refrigerator 4 years ago. Starting in the second year we started experiancing problems with the refrigerator forming ice both inside the unit behind a draw and behind the panel itself.
This causes all kind of other problems. The draw will not shut completely and thus the whole refrigerator door will not seal and of course once the seal is broken, then the temprature goes up. This reoccuring problem has happended 5 times. I've spent over $500.In repair costs plus $300+ in spoiled food. The problem just keeps on recurring over and over again. Each time you have to unplug the unit and defrost the frig for a minimum of 48-54 hours so that all that ice behind the panel will melt. Remember thier is 5 inches of insulation back there and at least 3-4 inches of ice too.

Samsung refuses to achnowledge that this is a design problem. And they will not stand behind the product. Buy a ge, frigidaire or lg.
Samsung might make a good tv but not a refrigerator yet.

We are having the same issues with our Samsung French Door refrigerator with the bottom freezer. We purchased it in October 2012. We have had it less than 3 years. The problem started when things in the frig started freezing. There have been numerous calls to Samsung repair techs and four visits from repair people in the last six weeks. Yesterday, the repair person adjusted something in the computer. This morning, it register 66 degrees on my digital thermometer. When we talk to Samsung Repair, they tell us the are baffled and have never had a problem like this before. Meanwhile, I have been throwing out food daily.
We purchased our frig from Lowes. Maybe they can help us. Samsung certainly isn't.

I purchased my Samsung refrigerator for almost $1200 from Costco is August 2004. The first problem I noticed was in 2008, when I would find large puddles of water on my tile around the refrigerator and the temperature not being stabile. My child began complaining about the milk not being cold enough. Today it is 03/2010 and the refrigerator is obviously needing to be replaced. The ice that has constantly formed behind the back panel has done irrepairable damage. The plastic is bent outward and the strofoam has expanded to the point that even after defrosting it is sticking out 6", making it impossible to use any of the drawers. Costco has told me it isn't right for me to expect them to help me with a product purchased 7 years ago. Samsung has told me their warranty is only for one year and there is no record of anyone else having the same issue. REALLY? I guess everyone is complaining online but not contacting Samsung :) Samsung Refrigerators are a waste of money. You will get at best 4-7 years life compared to the average 13-14. No one will care or tar responsibility. Why should they, they have your money and you will have their piece of junk.

We are having the same problem with our Samsung side by side refrigerator. Approximately two years old. Ice bending the plastic panels out to the extent that it broke some shelving parts. We're now trying to defrost it.
