He informed me that the recovery process was in progress and that I could expect to receive my data retrieval within a few weeks. However, a week later, Salvage Data informed me that they were not able to recover my data and charged me an additional 40 dollars to ship my hardware back to me.

To add insult to injury, when I finally received my hard drive back, it was returned without the outside case and the nice aftermarket zipper case that I had initially sent it in, and appeared to be opened up - as though they had given up on the recovery and just sent it back in pieces. This was a disappointing experience from start to finish.

All in all, I would not recommend Salvage Data for data recovery services. Not only was the process a total nightmare, but it was also impossible to communicate with their representatives, and they are a ripoff.
