NorthStar VETS First class service?? NOT!!!

First class veterinary service!? that's a real joke! the only thing this place is interested in is money, money, money! My cat had an emergency. he had a urinary blockage. they said he was fine and made us wait hours only to find out he needed surgery. their main concern is not your pet, it's your money. how will they be paid, when will they be paid and it's not only that, they grossly overcharge! I mean it is disgusting what they charge. I don't understand how they can get away with it. I'm talking overcharing by thousands of dollars. the staff is stupid, rude and nasty. I wouldn't even bring an ant to this place. I don't think most of the people who work there even like animals. please be warned. don't make the same mistake I did and rush there in an emergency. take a minute and do your home work. I wish I did. go to Garden State or Red Bank instead. you'll be so glad you did.

Recommendation: Go elsewhere if you love your pet!

Northstar Vets has provided me with excellent emergency service within the past few weeks - although the waits are now extended it is now possible to be face to face with the treating vets to discuss treatment options. It is clear that like all of veterinary medicine there are an overwhelming volume of patients. The staff are under alot of pressure with the number of cases but do an excellent job to triage patients in a timely manner and offer alternatives if the patient could wait for a scheduled appointment.

I am sharing this horrible experience to hopefully sparing other families from going through. Our hearts are broken for the passing of beautiful rescued snowshoe mix kitty named Dexter. We are ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with the down right vile behavior of North Star Vets. We brought Dexter in months ago for a Urine Blockage for emergency care which resulted in a a costly bill. We are still in works of paying it off. Sadly on February 5th Dexter gained another blockage. I was concerned about the possibility of our cat being held and not cremated because of our remaining balance that we are still paying off. It was one of the hardest decisions to make but it was what was best for him.. we lost a part of our family that day.. I have been heartbroken. On that day I spoke to a women who kindly swayed our concerns saying "oh my gosh we would never! Just pay the $400 cremation free, continue to make payments and everything is fine." Loosing our baby was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. Stephen brought him in, they even offered for Stephen to take Dexter's body home. We wanted him cremated so we did that. They gave us paperwork and told us his remains would be delivered to our house and Pet Meadow (the cremation service) would picked up on that Sunday or Monday. It has been ALMOST 2 WEEKS. We called Pet Meadow to see where Dexter was, they have nothing on file for him. We have paperwork and receipts that we payed. They called North Star Vet. OUR DEXTER has been SITTING IN A FREEZER FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. They have been holding Dexter and not releasing Dexter to Pet Meadow to have a proper cremation. North Star Vets NOW say they have a policy that they "hold deceased pets, and will not release them to Pet Meadow" No written documentation that we were holding our pet, nothing letting us know. I am COMPLETELY disgusted in North Star Vet. Please do NOT use North Star Vet. The manager there is a vile, disgusting, human being. I can't wait to get out baby back home. I can't believe they did this to us. I am heartbroken. They are full of lies. Please save yourself.

The *** facility has lost is way. The vets are overwhelmed and have conflicting opinions on how to treat patients. My dog was treated with a drug that caused a fatal disease. The treating vet said the drug was not not cause the emergency vet said the medication did cause the complication and eventual death. I wrote to the founder and he accused me of being irate and part of the reason veterinarians were committing suicide. The team provided incomplete discharge instructions along with delayed follow up with the primary internal medicine veterinarian. It was a whirlwind. I was initially told my dogs condition was treatable and the subsequent complication could be controlled . In one week he died and we spent 10k and the head doctor told me to go somewhere else in the future. What a disgrace. In the name of my deceased dog I am writing this review to warn future pet owners.

NorthStar VETS We just took our sweet cat Coco here

We just took our sweet cat Coco here. Dr. Tasker attended to her. She was thorough, kind and understanding. She took the time to thoroughly check Coco's symptoms and give us a diagnosis. And even thought it wasn't what we wanted to hear, it was what we needed to hear. And when we decided it was time to say goodbye to Coco, Dr. Tasker was compassionate and supportive. She even stayed well past her work shift to meet with us and assist with Coco's passing. I was grateful for a knowledgeable vet and for the compassion and support she showed to us and to our dear Coco. We even got a hand written card from her 2 days later. Thank you Dr. Tasker!

NorthStar VETS Truly excellent veterinary care, but truly abysmal administrative service - at least in our specific, current case

Truly excellent veterinary care, but truly abysmal administrative service - at least in our specific, current case. When we took our little chihuahua in to have her eyes checked after she tangled with the cat, they took her to another room, out of our view shot, to do the eye exam. When they brought her back to us, they admitted that they'd "lost control" of her on the exam table, and, essentially, she fell four feet to the ground. She's 10 1/2 years old and less than 7 lbs. That fall resulted in soft tissue damage and the readily apparent worsening of her luxating patellas. At first, we were charged for the subsequent visit and medication, until we reached out to the office to say, "This fall happened at your establishment while she was in your care, and we should not be paying for anything resulting from this particular injury." Which they kind of begrudgingly agreed to. Every email interaction, and some of the phone conversations, since reaching that agreement, with them have been clipped and on the verge of hostile, with constant reminders that they will ONLY cover costs associated with this injury. That was insulting, as we had never asked for them to cover costs associated with anything else, yet we were being treated as though we had asked for a multitude of unrelated graces. At our visit yesterday, to get x-rays, we were told there is no visible injury and they will no longer cover visit or medication. Our dog is still in pain, by the way. So, that was extremely frustrating. Add to that that on none of our paperwork has there been any claim of responsibility for this incident, nor have we received an apology of any sort. Again, the vets have been kind, thorough and happy to assist. Our problems lie with the treatment we've received from the administrative side of things, and for that reason alone, I wouldn't recommend the Robbinsville office. In the event that we ever have another emergency we need to have our dogs seen for, this will not be where we take them. Also, when we left this same review on their site, they called us liars and told us to take our business elsewhere. After admitting that they dropped her and they did comp us some services - both of which equates to clear fault on the part of the vet. We are not the liars, Northstar. If you dig through the reviews of your company, there are many similar incidents that were handled in the same way as ours. And the same nasty comments were made to those clients who were simply giving honest feedback. We'll be going to the NJ Veterinary Board over this experience.

Yeah I’m starting to see just how many complaints there are against this facility and they are basically the same. People are taking the time to post their complaints because their experience was true, not like your lies and excuses to cover up. Everything you people do will eventually catch up with you. It’s just a matter of time. You cant go on screwing people and providing terrible service. You’ll see. I’m sitting back waiting for the day.
