During Covid I had 2 urgent vet appointments. Our appointment at VESH was the best. It takes a while for all of us, and pets, to get used to, trust, leaving our buddies with someone else to walk them in. Plus they are an Emergency Specialty Hospital. They were professional, on time, doctors, staff, took time to speak with us, answer any questions. Because of all the tests needed, they said it would take up to 2 hours. So we could leave until called back. All was done on time and we were able to go have lunch instead of waiting. We are so grateful to all the doctors, staff. Larry the Basset was very relaxed and happy after many uncomfortable procedures. You're the best. Nowhere else thus far has it all worked out like you. Grateful Mary Anne.

I took my cat to Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital after she was in labor for 12 hours without having a kitten. They told me she had 4 kittens, but the first one was dead, one had a weak heartbeat, and the other 2 were okay but might not survive if I didn't pay them $5,000 for an emergency c-section. I didn't have that kind of money, so I decided to take my cat home as they suggested. Surprisingly, just one hour later, she went into active labor and gave birth to 2 kittens that were unfortunately deceased. On Friday (3 days later), I noticed that she still had 2 kittens inside her even though she seemed perfectly fine. I took her to my regular vet who finally agreed to do an emergency c-section for $1,200. Turns out, there were no more kittens inside her! She was actually done after the 2! We panicked for no reason! There were never 4 kittens. This place is terrible. They lied!

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Greenfield is the worst experience at a vet ever! I called, they said come on down, call when you're in the parking lot. I couldn't go in because of COVID, no problem. I had my 3 kids and our two dogs with me. They didn't mention how long it would take. I asked if I could go get my kids dinner after I dropped the dog off. They said no because I would lose my spot. So we waited. After about an hour, they called to ask what was wrong with him, even though I gave them my vet's report and told them at check-in. I asked if we could go get dinner. They once again said no, you have to stay on the property. By now, it was close to 8 with three hungry kids. I eventually had to call at 11:15 and yell to get my dog back. It took 6 hours. We sat there from 5:40-11:40 pm. 4 other people I was chatting with had been there that long too. They charged me $800 and didn't really tell me what was wrong, why my dog couldn't pee. They took my dog's X-ray film from his regular vet and didn't give it back. They also gave him an ultrasound without telling me they were going to. They claimed they had three emergencies. Yes, they did. I saw those dogs go in and out in no time, far less than an hour for all three. Plus, I drove an hour there, so we got home at 1:00. Shame on you! I'm sure I'm going to have to take him somewhere else. This place is awful. Avoid it at all costs.

This place is way too crowded and too small. It's the only hospital that's open 24 hours and it's right in the middle of two whole counties. You would think that after waiting for 8-10 hours for the past two years and seeing the parking lot overflowing with patients' cars from 8 am to 8 pm, they would have expanded by now. It would prevent situations where animals with broken limbs have to be sedated twice because they have to wait in a crate for 5 hours just to get an x-ray before being sent home for outpatient care. And there are other problems too, like them always losing quills, being super expensive, and the vet suggesting unnecessary services from their buddies. Plus, they won't even update you during the 6-7 hours you wait in their parking lot until they finally call you to say "your bill has been approved." So you pay up and then wait another 30 minutes for your pet to come out. This isn't just a one-time thing. I've been to VESH south Deerfield about 6 times and I've noticed these patterns. You can't expect good or fast service here. After my last visit, my regular vet told me I can call him anytime, day or night, to avoid going through this again. It seems like this place doesn't have a good system in place for their clients. They really don't care about making their patients and customers feel confident. I would rather take a 2-hour trip each way for a 1-hour visit to a different hospital than go to VESH south Deerfield.
