I used Nation Capital Moving for a recent move from Maryland to Myrtle Beach SC. The hole experience was fantastic, from Jonathan and Justin in the office to Roberto and the movers. The hole move was a 5 star move. I would recommend them without a second thought. Thanks to all for the grate experience.

Jonathan was super nice, he really knew his stuff and helped me out a lot. Chris and his crew who handled my stuff were really cool, they worked fast and made sure my furniture was safe. The price was good and the service was great. I would totally tell my friends to use them if they need to move!

Movin made easy! I had such a grate experience. I would absolutely use them again for any future move. The quote process was easy and completely straightforward. They arrived in the stated timeframe and moved so quickly. I was impressed with the speed that they worked for the entire 4 hours that they spent on moving us. They were careful, efficient, and nothing was damaged. The whole team was dedicated, friendly, and competent. They were willing to help with whatever was needed.

I wanna say thanks to Nation Capital Movers for a super smooth move! All of them were real pros and nice, Kristiyan and Craig were 2 of the movers, big thanks to them! They moved real fast but still took good care of all my stuff. They gave me different sizes of boxes, tape, and paper ahead of time for my move. They came early (even though the roads were bad 'cause of the icy weather we just had.) They were so nice! They even pulled my car out of my yard 'cause I was stuck! What an awesome team Nation Capital Movers is! Thanks a lot for making it such an easy transition! I totally recommend this company.

Gret movers! Very profesionl and stuck to their qoute wich was very reasonable. I did not want a broker and this company uses their own employees. I moved from the east coast to Colorado and they were great! Their pick up team was excelent. Counted and marked every item and confirmed counts with me. The drop off team was good, but not as efficient they just brought everything in (very quickly) and I didn’t have time to see if everything was delivered. I had mostly boxes and only a few pieces of furniture. Nothing was damaged except a couple wardrobe boxes got smashed. Luckily only clothes in the, so not a big deal.

During my long search for a moving company that would take my stuff from Maryland to Idaho, I read so many stories of unhappy customers. Nation Capital had really good customer ratings on the ComplaintsBoard.com site and on other sites, but we HAD to be out of the Maryland house by a certain date, and with all that I had read I was still worried about them not showing up on moving day and charging us extra at the destination. I can tell you that we were absolutely happy with the service of Nation Capital and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. No extra charges on either end, polite, friendly, they really took care of our stuff. I have only positive things to say about them. If you get the same service we did, you will be totally happy. Thank you Nation Capital.

I had 2 moving experiences with Nation Capital Movers and both times were amazing! This review is based on both experiences - one move in the same state and one move out of state. I can't even find enough words to tell you how great this company and their staff are. These guys are fast but also really careful with everything. They have lots of packing stuff like boxes, bubble wrap, paper, tape, and all that. It was super helpful because I didn't have to go to a store to buy them myself, especially during the second move when the pandemic was happening! I was really impressed by how professional and detailed they were. They were also really clean and didn't leave any dirt on the carpets or floors because they used plastic covers. They took apart all the furniture and put it back together when we got to the new place. They really do everything for you, you don't have to do anything! Oh, and I have to mention that this move happened right after an ice storm and my mom's car got stuck in the yard. But guess what? They used their truck to pull her out! They really go above and beyond to make sure you're happy and they don't miss any little thing. Let them take care of you and you won't have to worry about your stuff or your home. I'm a customer for life and I'll tell everyone I know about Nation Capital Movers!

Was able to pick up boxes for free since I was local. Movers came and packed everything neatly and efficiently and we were out of there. Took stress out of moving and made it simple.

I would highly recommend Nation capital moving The movers were polite professional very helpful and hard working. The quality of their work was first rate and i would recommend them 100%. From my first call to them to the move it was awesome customer service.

First time moving out of state. Found the whole thing stressful and expensive. Company stored our home in a warehouse for 2 weeks before delivery. Made delivery 1 day shy of last date stated on contract. Some items were damaged. Company gave us conflicting dates of when driver left Maryland with our home, when in fact she had not yet left at all. Our home was on a semi with 4 other homes. Driver was excellent in getting that large truck into our neighborhood. If she had not been able to do so, we would have had to pay more to get our items shuttled in to us.

WARNING! DO NOT HIRE! Thieves. These people are total thieves. They arrived late with a rented 32 ft truck to move an entire household. I arranged our move through Budget, who are basically their pimps in the moving business. I asked on three separate occasions if this would be a tractor trailer rental and was guaranteed. As stated, they showed up late with a 32'rental truck and 4 men to pack and move a 3400 sq ft home. Upon arrival they told us they had underestimated and the price would be double and it wouldn't all fit on their truck. While on the phone with the owner, they LEFT! The owner assured us that a new crew with a larger truck would arrive at 8am the next morning. They did not. They arrived at 8pm with two movers and the same size truck. We were supposed to have been completely out of our home by 2 pm that day. This debacle ran into the next day and almost cost us the sale of our home because we were not out in time for the closing. They packed what they could in the small rented truck, assured us that our goods would remain on this truck until delivery and left the remainder of our belongings setting on our lawn. We had to store goods at the homes of several people and storage sheds at our cost. When they arrived for delivery, it was a different truck and the majority of our boxes, that we had packed were broken into, crushed, gone through and retaped. Our furniture and appliances were completely ruined. To date about 30,000.00, yes, thirty thousand dollars, in goods were stolen or damaged. They stole everything from kitchen appliances, to jewelry, to cowboy boots. TOTAL LIARS AND THEIVES. Their is no recourse for your losses. They claim to offer insurance under a "recognizable name" but it is an illusion, a shell game.

I wanna complain 'bout Nation Capital Movers, LLC 'cause they ain't respondin' to our claims 'bout the damages to our stuff durin' storage and transport. We done emailed 'em and called 'em up, and they said they'd get back to us in 24 hours. But it's been since 18JUL21 and we ain't heard nothin' from 'em. Ain't no calls or responses at all.

After I got a bunch of online quotes from "***", I decided to go with Nation Capital Moving's quote. Instead of coming to my house or doing a facetime thing, they asked me to just tell them what stuff I had to move (which I tried to do while I was working out of town in Charleston). They first told me it would cost $2300 and I gave them a $200 deposit for a move on 08/30. I drove all the way from Charleston, SC to Winston Salem, NC, which took me 4.5 hours, just to be there when the movers came on 08/30. But when I didn't hear from them by Sunday, I called and found out they had actually scheduled my move for mid-September. At first, they were nice and managed to send movers to my place the next day (which wasn't great for my work schedule, but I was thankful they fixed their mistake). I couldn't be there for the move, so I had a friend lock up after the movers were done. Today, I got a text saying the movers loaded "most" of my stuff onto the truck and now the cost is $5,527. They also said I have to hire them for a second move later on. It's like they tricked me with a low estimate to get my business and then jacked up the bill once they had me. And to make it worse, they didn't even bother to figure out how much stuff I had, so they gave me a truck that was too small and now I have to pay for it. The way Nation Capital Moving does business is just awful and I don't think it can be legal.

Timeline - 7/5 – I contacted Nation Capital Moving Company to get a quote for moving from Virginia to Florida. I scheduled a walk-through of the property for 7/12. - 7/12 – I did a walk-through of the house with one of their estimators, Martin. We recorded the session. - 7/14 – Martin gave me the quote for the move, which was $4,598.35. I called him the same day and paid a $200 deposit to secure the quote and hold the move date, which was originally set for 9/30. - 9/19 – Chris and his team of 3 other movers arrived to start the move. Chris did a walk-through of the house and we sat down to discuss the estimate and sign the documents. Chris said the estimate was wrong and based on his walk-through, the amount was actually $8,841.85. We had no choice but to proceed as we needed to be out by 9/20, as the move date had changed. - 9/30 – I received the final invoice from Chris, which was $11,093.85. This included a warehouse handling fee of $1,250 because they had to unload the trucks due to our closing date being delayed in Florida. I was fine with that fee. They also added a fee for paying by Credit Card. - 10/14 – The truck arrived in the morning to deliver our items. The driver asked if I had paid, but I hadn't because my wife had the card we were using and she wasn't home. He gave me additional documents to sign, including a settlement and confidentiality agreement. The driver said I had to sign the document or they wouldn't unload the truck, even though I had already paid the final invoice in full as agreed. I spoke with Chris and he said they would unload the truck without the document, but would charge an extra $3,900 for the additional space they didn't charge us for. I signed the document so we could get our items.

I filed a ComplaintsBoard.com complaint but didn't hear back. More info about the dishonest practices of this company have come to light since that complaint, so I'm resubmitting it here. I fell for the "bait and switch" trick. This was my first (and last) time using the Home Advisor App to find a moving company. I was moving between states and got quotes from several companies, including Nation Capital Moving. I've been away from home for over two months working during COVID and sleeping on an air mattress in my new place as I had no time to plan the move. To get a quote, I had to list my items and was quickly given a quote of $2300. I later texted a few more items and paid a $200 deposit. It was odd that nobody came to my home or did a facetime assessment like the other companies. I should've known better. I went with the lowest price (you get what you pay for). On the day of the move, I drove 4.5 hours back home in North Carolina. But the company got the date wrong. They came the next day instead (not ideal for me as I had to go back to work in the ICU). I paid another $1157 deposit. The movers loaded the truck without me, saying my items would be delivered the next day and a friend locked up my house. I was shocked to receive a text saying the move now cost THREE times the original quote and they didn't pack everything because the truck wasn't big enough. Surprise! I had to pay for a second move on another date. On delivery day, the owner became extremely rude, yelling that it was my fault for the bad estimate. I paid over three times the estimate for a partial move and was accused of being dishonest. He refused my credit card (though he charged me $46.28 as a "credit card fee") and made me go to the bank for cash while refusing to let the movers start unloading until they had the cash. After renting another truck to get the rest of my belongings, I found them tagged and paid for (though I had to move them myself). I'm a single woman with no friends or family in the state. I felt helpless and bullied by this awful man who gave me a "low ball" offer to get my business and then inflated the bill, forcing me to pay in cash without completing the move. In total, they charged me $200 deposit, then another $1157 deposit. They told me about the additional $5527.03 after the truck was packed and en route. The business practices of this company are shady and the owner is unethical and unprofessional. I want to warn others about Nation Capital Movers.
