Disappointing Experience with Melissa & Doug Grocery Mart Toy
OK so like, you know when you buy a toy for your kid and they play with it so much that something breaks? Yea well, that happened to us with the Melissa & Doug grocery mart. It's a pretty cool toy, my kid loves it, but the scanner stopped working. And get this, we can't even get a replacement part for it! Like, what is that?! We paid like $200 for this thing and now it's not even complete.
I know, I know, first world problems right? But still, it's frustrating when you spend so much money on something and then can't even get it fixed. I mean, the scanner is the main fun part of the store! And now my kid can't even pretend to scan items anymore.
I did try to contact customer service about it, but they were no help. They basically just said sorry, we don't have any replacement parts. That's it. So now we're stuck with a half-broken toy that we paid way too much for.
Overall, I still like Melissa & Doug toys, but this experience has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Next time I'll have to think twice before spending that much money on a toy that could easily break and not be replaceable.

So, I decided to give Melissa & Doug another try and ordered a wooden puzzle for my niece. I have to say, I was impressed with the quality of the puzzle - the colors were vibrant and the pieces fit together smoothly. It kept my niece entertained for hours, which was definitely worth the price.

I've bought maybe like, twelve of Melissa & Doug's stuffed animals and lemme tell ya, they're all awesome af. Never had a single problem with any of them so far, which is like, rare nowadays, ya know? I haven't really tried out their board games or puzzles yet, but if they're anything like these plush toys, they'd be totally worth every penny. The price might be a lil steep for some people, but trust me, the quality is worth it. No regrets here.
Melissa & Doug Stamp Kit Review: Disappointing Quality & Poor Customer Service
I done gone and purchased a stamp kit from Melissa & Doug (that's melissaanddoug.com for them digital folks) for my youngins and the darn stamp pad was bone dry. Ain't that just the pits? I straight up emailed them to get a replacement pad and they had the nerve to want me to send 'em a video of the kids trying to stamp with that desert of a pad. Like seriously, do they think I'm gonna make up a story about a dried-out stamp pad? It's not like it's worth a whole lot, maybe about as much as a gumball. I just got this toy from Chapters Indigo eh and I gotta say, I spent over 55 bones on it and it turned out to be way smaller than I thought it would be. So, I hit up the Melissa and Doug customer service, hoping to set things right. But the back-and-forth with them through emails was a real drag, you know? They kept insisting that this was the only size they had and that what I saw at my friend's place wasn't even Melissa and Doug. I mean, come on! How can they say that, right?
Long story short, I'm super bummed out about this experience and I'll think twice before buying anything from Melissa and Doug again. It's too bad, too, because I thought they were a legit brand. But eh, we'll see what happens.
Melissa & Doug Website Review: One Star Rating for Terrible Refund Policy
Got two dolls from Melissa & Doug website for Christmas for my grandbabies real early in November. Them dolls got here on November 15 and I wasn't happy with them so I got them right back the same day. But now it's December 21, 2022 and guess what - still ain't got a REFUND! I done called a bunch of times but they keep telling me to wait for 30 days before they can do anything about it. So I waited, but now it's been more than 30 days, but still no REFUND till this morning on December 21st when I called up my bank and they ain't seen nothing either. Melissa & Doug don't seem to got no problem taking money out of my account for the dolls, but they sure as hell don't wanna give it back! So we give em a ONE STAR RATING!
Disappointed with Melissa & Doug's Customer Service: A Review
So, I recently made a purchase from Melissa & Doug and I was a bit disappointed with the service. After receiving my receipt, I realized that one of the toys I had ordered was missing. Without hesitation, I decided to immediately reach out to the customer service team. However, I was met with a disappointing response. They refused my request to add the toy to my order or cancel the order altogether. I couldn't believe it, it had only been a minute and they seemed unwilling to help me out!
To make matters worse, the so-called supervisor that I was promised to speak to was unavailable. Even after an hour of waiting, I still hadn't received a call back.
I'm not sure what to do now, it seems like the only option available to me is to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. This whole situation has left me feeling quite frustrated and confused. It's hard to believe that a company as large as Melissa & Doug would treat their customers in such a way.
Furthermore, I had presumed that there were laws in place that allowed online shoppers the luxury of a time frame to change their minds or cancel an order but now I'm not so sure. I guess I'll have to do some further research on this to find out what options are really available to me.
Overall, this experience has been quite disappointing. I had really high hopes for Melissa & Doug based on their reputation, but unfortunately, they have let me down. It seems like there is some work that needs to be done in their customer service department, and I hope they'll take the necessary steps to improve their services in the future.
Impressively Detailed and Affordable: My Review of Melissa & Doug Toys
I've been a big fan of Melissa & Doug for years now. I have a whole playroom that's literally packed with their toys and I couldn't be happier. From the play rugs to the large stuffed animals, everything is so incredibly detailed and well-made. I just can't say enough good things about this brand!
One thing that really impresses me is how much thought they put into their toy designs. You can tell they truly care about their customers and want to make sure each and every toy is as perfect as possible. And honestly, I've never found anything they missed. They seem to think of every little detail, which is so impressive.
Of course, sometimes things do break. I have a crazy toddler who's constantly throwing things around and getting into mischief. So it's not surprising that we had one toy that broke - a thin wood piece from their portable train set. But really, that's on my kid, not on the brand. Overall, everything is so durable and well-made.
I also really appreciate how affordable Melissa & Doug toys are. Their sales are always great and the prices are very fair. You get so much value for your money with their toys, which is just another reason I keep coming back to this brand.
All in all, I think Melissa & Doug is an amazing company that truly cares about their customers and puts a ton of effort into making high-quality toys that kids will love and parents will appreciate. I can't recommend them enough!
Poor customer service experience with Melissa and Doug - would not recommend
Melissa and Doug really let me down, to be honest. I made a purchase through their website for $36 and spent an additional $9.99 on shipping – which feels like a lot. Especially when I saw the same item at Target for only $16! It was over twice the amount I had paid on M and D's website. So, I decided to reach out to customer service to see if they might be able to match the price. Unfortunately, they couldn't. Instead, they just said to send the item back. Okay, fine.
But then, things started to get really frustrating. The CSR I spoke with on the phone wanted me to take down the return address myself. That's just not great customer service, is it? I asked for the address to be emailed to me instead. Finally, I got a three-sentence email with just the address – no shipping label or anything. Ugh.
When I returned the package, I was charged $12 to ship it. And then, I emailed the CSR to ask about getting reimbursed for that shipping cost. No response. I had to send a few more emails just to get a response about the refund itself. And then, would you believe it, TWO months later, I was finally reimbursed the $36 I had originally paid for the item. But I didn't receive anything back for the $22 in shipping costs I incurred. At this point, I was just beyond frustrated.
I mean, Melissa and Doug is a really profitable company. They're the number one toy company in the country! So why wouldn't they be able to pay for shipping costs? And why is their system so outdated that they can't even keep track of orders and reimburse customers in a timely manner? It's one thing to have a good product, but it's entirely another to treat your customers like this.
Overall, I didn't have a great experience with Melissa and Doug. I'm hesitant to shop there again, and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family.

Buyer beware! I recently had to replace some assembly hardware for my child's Melissa & Doug toy and let me tell you, it was a nightmare. I couldn't find any information on their website about replacement parts and when I tried to contact customer service, they told me there were no replacement parts available and didn't even bother to give me a part number to try and find it myself.
It's disappointing because Melissa & Doug are known for their high-end toys, but if you can't even get replacement parts, then what's the point? The call center didn't seem to care about helping me at all, which is frustrating when you've spent a lot of money on their products.
I love the quality of their toys, but this experience has definitely made me think twice about buying from them in the future. It's a shame that a lack of customer service is tarnishing the reputation of such an iconic brand.
