MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: Unreliable, Expensive, and Terrible Customer Service

I gotta say, MakeSpace ain't it. My storage experience with them was the worst, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. First off, they lost one of my items! Can you believe it? I stored my things with them for over a year, paying more than 220 bucks a month for a tiny space, mostly just to store my bed. And now, I don't even have a bed! They're so unorganized and their communication is all over the place. I had to fill out surveys and talk to like 10 different people just to get a measly 53 dollars back for my lost bed. And that's only because I had the Basic Insurance Plan. Don't even bother with that plan, it's a total rip-off. They lose things all the time, and if they lose something valuable, they only pay you for the weight of it. It's not fair, and even some of the employees I talked to agreed with me. But the company didn't take full responsibility for the loss.

Secondly, their service might seem like a good idea in a pinch, but it's really not. They try to sell you on their website and ads that their service is cheaper than traditional self-storage, but that's a lie. They're actually way more expensive, and they're super unreliable. And when there's an issue, they just give you the run-around. It's much better to call independent movers and store your things in a regular storage unit in the city where you have access and control over your things. That way, there's no chance of them getting lost. And it'll be cheaper in the end too. I switched to Public Storage and now I only pay 150 bucks for the same space. And independent movers charge you the same or less than the 400 bucks MakeSpace charges for moving your things back.

Lastly, their customer service is just terrible. They partnered with some other company to handle claims, and it's a mess. I had to talk to and email like 10 different people, and it was always me who had to take the initiative, even though they were the ones who made the mistake. Sometimes they didn't even answer me, and I had to write again. I talked to Alexander, Jereme, Sirena, Michenlangelo, Louis, Deonte, and so on. Never the same person twice, so I had to explain the issue over and over again. And I lost so much time on top of my lost item. Some of the people I talked to agreed that there was a problem and an unfair resolution, but when they sent it to their supervisor, the response was always the same. It was like talking to a robot or something.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend MakeSpace to anyone. They're expensive, unreliable, and their customer service is terrible. Save yourself the trouble and go with a different storage option.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: Unreliable Appointments and Poor Customer Service

So, I want to tell y'all about something that happened to me with this here storage company called MakeSpace. Now, I ain't one to complain too much, but dang, they really messed up my whole plan.

I booked my appointment for July 2nd, bright and early from 8am-11am. Let me tell you, they sure did remind me enough times to be prepared for them to show up on time. I mean, I got text messages and emails left and right, talking about fees and all that if I ain't ready.

So, I get ready. Now, I didn't have that much stuff, it was just a mid-sized package for them. I know they handle much bigger storage appointments than mine, so I wasn't too worried. Then, just 4 days before my appointment, they text me to confirm. I said yes, but then they called me asking if I could change it to August 6th. I said 'uh uh, no way,' and they were cool about it. They said they'd be there on July 30th instead, from 8am-11am like we agreed.

But then, the morning of the appointment, I can't get through to nobody. I call the number they gave me, but it just keeps ringing and going to voicemail. Ain't nobody showing up. Finally, at 10:26am, they call me back and say they can't come after all, and they gotta push it back to August 9th. That's when I got mad. I told them I was gonna sue 'em for the trouble.

They must have freaked out, because they quickly called me back and said they found another appointment for August 2nd. I said fine, but I still wanna talk to the legal team. And guess what? Somebody from the claims department (not the legal team) calls me up, saying I gotta find somewhere else to store my stuff in the meantime. They said they might compensate me for the trouble, but they couldn't make any promises.

Now, I ain't no expert on these storage companies, but MakeSpace ain't treatin' me right. Ain't nobody got time for this kind of trouble.

MakeSpace Nightmare Moving Experience with MakeSpace: Hidden Fees, Damaged Items, and Poor Customer Support

Don't ever think about using MakeSpace unless you want to experience problems left and right. Our recent experience with this moving service was a total nightmare from start to finish. They picked up our items quite quickly, but it took them six whole hours to empty our two-bedroom apartment that had already been packed by us. And to add the cherry on top, they charged us with hidden fees upon removal.

After waiting a few days, the state of our items upon return was a complete disaster! Many of our valuable items were returned either broken or unusable with no proper support from their "customer service." Take a look at the photos we took - an unidentifiable stain on the mattress and several missing items, including two televisions! All we got from their "customer support" was that they found one TV and would send it to us, but we found out a few days later that it was damaged and couldn't be shipped. In addition, aside from the open TV box with two sofa cushions, the fractured mirror replaced the other TV.

But wait, there's more! We wanted our items moved out on October 24th, but despite booking on October 5th, we couldn't get a slot until November 1st. Then, Makespace decided that this meant they had to charge us for storage for the full month of November since they are a "monthly subscription service." However, we found out a little too late that they had changed the pricing of the move-out service in September without letting us know, resulting in an additional $600 bill removed straight from our bank account.

Overall, we would highly recommend avoiding MakeSpace if you have any valuable items or need reliable and affordable storage services. You wouldn't want to lose your items while having to pay even more with no advanced notice.

MakeSpace Don't Waste Your Money on MakeSpace: My Experience with Their Terrible Service

NO GOOD COMPANY

I gotta say, MakeSpace ain't no good. During the pandemic, I needed somewhere to store my stuff cuz who knows where I would end up, ya know? So, I went with MakeSpace. Big mistake! First off, the crew that came to pick up my stuff was hella late. Like four hours late! And then it took them five hours to pack up my 600 sq foot apartment. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Fast forward a few months, and I finally figured out where I was gonna live for realz. So, I made an appointment to pick up my stuff from the warehouse. And that's when things really got bad. As they were unloading my stuff, I noticed that my dresser was missing. It wasn't there, and nobody had seen it since 2020. The crew told me they would find it and ship it out to me as soon as possible. But it's been 8 weeks now, and I still ain't got my dresser! They keep telling me they're gonna ship it, but they're just holding it hostage at this point. I gotta call them every dang day just to get an update, and even then, the word don't mean nothing. I only get real info when I ask to talk to a supervisor.

Like, don't even get me started on my broken TV stand. They broke a piece off of it, and now it's totally useless. That TV stand cost me almost $600, but MakeSpace offered me a measly $74. That ain't even enough to buy a new one! I'm about ready to sue these guys for my missing dresser. They should find a shipping company to get it to me down here in Texas.

I ain't the only one with problems with MakeSpace. These guys make promises they can't keep, and it seems like they're always lyin' to someone. Plus, when they finally gave me my stuff back, all my boxes looked like they were thrown around or something. Everything was all messed up and scratched. I don't recommend MakeSpace to nobody. They should be ashamed of themselves for bein' in business, takin' peoples' money, and not even carin' about their stuff. Ain't nobody got time for that!

MakeSpace Negative MakeSpace Review: Poor Service and Damage to Items Stored

This company known as MakeSpace has been getting negative reviews recently and I was one of the people who were fooled by it. I initially thought that it was a great company to store my items. But now, I can't wait to get a house with a storage space area to get me out of this mess.

The process of taking photos of the things I wanted to store was easy, or so I thought. They didn't mention the part where they wouldn't take photos of the inside of boxes or bins that belong to me. If I had known, I would have transferred everything to the bins they provided because it was free! Another mistake I made was not labeling the contents of my boxes because they only took photos of the top of the bins. This resulted in me not knowing what was in each bin which can be a hassle.

My first experience with them didn't go so well. I requested for my first few bins to be brought to my home as I had sold some vases online and they were stored in their facility. Unfortunately, the next available appointment was the following week. An unbearable wait, so I pleaded with them to fit me into their schedule on Saturday morning. Fortunately, they were able to squeeze me in. Although, they neglected to inform me about it, so I missed the appointment. The situation was frustrating, but they were able to book me another appointment on a different day.

Today was supposed to be the day they picked up the rest of the boxes and the items I no longer need, but they only came to drop off these boxes. They didn't even bother to wait and pick up the rest of my boxes. To add salt to the wound, several of my vases were broken too.

All these incidents are making me scared and disappointed. Yes, they are cheaper, but I believe we pay for it through poor quality service. The quality of my stored items is now questionable. It's time to look for another company that can provide better service.

MakeSpace Disappointing Experience with MakeSpace: Delayed Delivery and Damaged Furniture

I recently had an experience with MakeSpace that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. My significant other and I were making the big step of moving in together and furnishing our new apartment. However, our experience with MakeSpace made everything much more difficult than we anticipated.

Firstly, upon moving into our apartment, we were told that we would have to wait for months before our furniture and personal items would arrive. This meant that we had to spend extra money just to purchase basics like dishes and brushes, and were forced to sleep on an uncomfortable mattress. The wait time was incredibly frustrating and made the transition into our new home much more stressful than it needed to be.

When our belongings finally arrived, we were devastated to find that the bed frame we invested in for our long-term and marital bed was completely destroyed. The wood was smashed into teeny tiny pieces and taped together with blankets. Needless to say, my girlfriend and I were both upset by this and I had to spend hours cleaning up the mess. MakeSpace only offered a few hundred dollars in compensation, even though we had already lost thousands of dollars due to their mishandling of our belongings.

To make matters worse, MakeSpace also lost a set of screws and parts from our dining table. This rendered it unusable, and we were forced to go without a table for quite some time.

Overall, I was incredibly saddened by our experience with MakeSpace. I feel as though we paid good money to an organization that essentially stole and destroyed our personal property. It makes me question the safety and security of using any moving service in the future.

Despite all of this, my girlfriend and I are slowly working through the hardships and getting back on our feet. It's just unfortunate that our experience with MakeSpace had to be such a difficult and costly one.

MakeSpace Beware of MakeSpace: A Storage Unit Scam with Terrible Customer Service

First-time reviewer here, and I just need to vent my frustrations with MakeSpace. What kind of service charges a monthly fee and fails to return your items? This storage unit is a complete scam! It's been months, and I still haven't gotten back all of my stored belongings. And to top it off, their customer service is terrible! If by any chance you lose your items, they will give you the runaround multiple times.

I've kept my things with MakeSpace for just four months. When I went to collect my belongings from the warehouse (not delivery), everything seemed to be fine. But the day after, we drove to Nevada with our things for Labor Day, and that's when I realized a huge wardrobe box was missing. The box contained all of my most used items, and it was the last one we packed. And yes, you guessed it right, they had the audacity to convince me to buy that specific box, promising me that it would reduce the risk of losing my stuff (talk about irony).

I tried to call them immediately, but it was Labor Day, and their customer service wasn't available. The next day, I called to report the missing box, and they promised to investigate. I called them numerous times during the first week, but they kept telling me there were no updates from the warehouse. How frustrating! They kept telling me not to worry, but how can I not worry about my missing belongings?

The following week, I called again, and they told me that they hadn't even started looking for the box because I didn't submit a claim. I didn't realize that I had to submit a claim, so I did it right away. They couldn't provide me with an inventory of all the things they took, and I had to remember everything from memory.

Fast forward almost two months later, and they tell me that they couldn't find the box. I called them at least ten times during those months, but their customer service was horrible! They were very slow to respond, and they couldn't even confirm that someone had gone into the warehouse to look for the box. They then offered me a measly $200 in compensation for a box that contained at least $500 worth of items. What's worse is that the stuff in that box is hard to replace.

I've been trying to call them multiple times, but all they say is that my things are hard to replace, and they understand my frustrations. But do they really? They promised to keep looking, but I'm almost certain they haven't actually done so.

Why would anyone pay for storage they're never going to get back? You get what you pay for, so don't fall into their trap. Do yourself a favor, buyer be warned, and stay away from MakeSpace!

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: A Warning - Do NOT Use Them!

OMG, LISTEN UP! If you're thinking of using MakeSpace, DON'T DO IT. They're a total rip-off.

I set up my move for between 8 and 11 in the morning, but at 10:50, I got a text saying the movers were delayed. No biggie, right? So I waited. And waited. Nothing. So I texted them. Finally, I got a message saying they were on the way. It was already 11:45, almost at the end of the time window. But then, surprise! They texted me again, saying they couldn't find anywhere to park, so they left.

But get this - I had gone out of my way to make sure they'd have a spot to park. And when I talked to customer service, they were all, "Oopsie, sorry! Let us call the team." So I waited and waited, they never showed up again, not even a text. Nothing.

And this was no ordinary move. It was the last day of the month, and I had to move from Philly to Boston. I was screwed. No moving company could help me. I checked Uhaul, Ryder, and Budget for trucks, and they were all sold out 150 miles outside of Philly. I finally found a truck at Penske, but it was far away, and I had to pay over 1k just to rent it.

To move my stuff, I had to hire two randoms off TaskRabbit. They wanted an arm and a leg just to help me get my stuff into the truck. But what could I do? I was desperate. So I paid around $600 just for two guys who weren't even real movers.

And the worst part? MakeSpace is a total scam. I looked up quotes for a full-service move, and they were all around $1,700. But instead, I ended up shelling out over $2,000 for this mess.

And then I found out that it wasn't just me. Two of my friends had the exact same experience with MakeSpace - no show, no calls, no texts. I would never, ever use them again. They're the worst.

MakeSpace Beware of MakeSpace: Deceitful, Hidden Fees & False Advertising - A Terrible Experience

Hey there, I gotta tell you about my experience with MakeSpace. I'm usually not one to leave a negative review, but man, this company really left a bad taste in my mouth. I stumbled upon them when I got laid off during the pandemic and had to get out of my apartment in Chicago quickly. At first, everything seemed great - they sent me some big ol' bags to pack up my stuff and came to pick it up. They even took apart my furniture for me! All included in the storage fee, too.

But here's the kicker: when they told me I needed a 300+ cubic storage unit for basically just a bed frame and a couch, I thought something fishy was goin' on. I asked them to send me a picture of my stuff in the storage unit, but they refused. Turns out, they didn't even put it in a storage unit - it was just sitting on a pallet with everyone else's stuff! False advertising much?

Anyways, when I finally wanted to get my stuff back seven months later (and over $1,200 in fees later), it was a hot mess. First off, their promise of $59 delivery "anywhere" is a load of hooey - they don't even have a license to ship stuff across state lines! So I had to find a mover that charged me over $3k to get my stuff from Chicago to California. And scheduling a pick-up time? Good luck with that. The warehouse only allows three-hour pickups (which really means two hours since you gotta be done by the end of the second hour), and they don't even do weekends. I had to wait almost three weeks to even schedule a pick-up!

And the kicker? They charge you $62 just to pick up your own stuff from their warehouse. Can you believe that? And now I'm sleeping on a borrowed mattress in my Cali apartment because of all the delays.

All in all, this company is super deceitful and stacks on hidden fees left and right. In total, I ended up paying around $1,800 just for storage with them, plus another $3k to move it cross-country. It's insane! I'd recommend U-Haul pods instead - you can have local movers load it up for you and even store it for around $90/mo! Plus, the total cost is around $3k (way less than what I paid with MakeSpace).

On a positive note, the customer service folks were pretty great. They hired some awesome people to help out. But sadly, that's not enough to make up for all the other shenanigans they're up to. Steer clear, folks.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: Pure Chaos, Missing Items, Damaged Goods, Non-existent Customer Service, Overcharging for Storage

I didn't check out MakeSpace's reviews before choosing them. All in all, I remember seeing great pricing and the promise of free pick up and delivery. So I booked with them. After that, though, pure chaos ensued.

Firstly, a whopping $2k worth of items just went missing. Simply disappeared into thin air. They even disassembled and boxed up some of my belongings without permission. Not only that, but an additional $7k worth of stuff was damaged beyond repair. Things were so bad it felt like someone was just using my belongings to try their new stunt driving routine.

To add insult to injury, their pick up service made me wait hours before they finally cancelled. The delivery wasn't much better. I had to go with their "state fee" only to find out later they no longer deliver to my state. After a fruitless search for alternatives and scrambled plans to make it happen, they gave me a 3-4 hour window for pick up. I had to rush to prepare everything before they arrived, but then my spot was put in jeopardy because of the slightest delay.

Worst of all, they charged me for storing a three-bedroom apartment with all the trimmings even though I just used it for one-bedroom storage with none of the kitchen or living room furniture included. If I hadn't caught on, they would have been stealing my money for months without notice.

Topping it all off, their customer service was practically non-existent. Hours waiting on hold only to speak with someone who'd say they're "resolving it," then next thing you know, they're never heard from again. It just went on in circles without a resolution in sight.

As a final note, the photos they uploaded of my belongings were mostly covered by sheets and therefore unidentifiable. They wouldn't take any delivery requests without an item number, which was frustrating beyond belief.

All in all, I experienced horror after horror with MakeSpace. It's not just about my own experience - they have the responsibility to take care of people's belongings, which they didn't do. They really need to step up their game. On the flip side, the staff who handled the final pick up were very professional, far more helpful, and kind than the representatives who I had the misfortune to speak with over the phone.

MakeSpace Unreliable and Costly: My Terrible Experience with Makespace Storage and Moving Services

I had a move coming up from Los Angeles to Atlanta, and I wanted to rent a furnished sublet for a couple of months before settling down. So, I thought it would be better to move out of my apartment, put my belongings in storage, and get them back when I found a new apartment in Atlanta. My friend suggested I try Makespace (makespace.com) for secure storage and moving.

However, my experience with Makespace was a disaster. Firstly, I was told that there would be three people to help me move out, but only two showed up. It is not easy to move all the stuff alone, and the team needs to be perfect to avoid any damage or mishap. Later, when I received my invoice, it showed a higher price than what was initially agreed upon. I had to fight to revert the changes.

Moreover, Makespace falsely advertises that they are located in Los Angeles when in fact they are located in Ontario, which is 40 miles east of LA. This caused me a great deal of confusion when I needed to pick up my belongings - it wasn't easily accessible and contacting Makespace was a hassle.

I had to call and email multiple times to get a confirmed date for the pickup, which should have been hassle-free. When the moving company finally arrived, they couldn't locate the storage unit since there were so many similar buildings, and the unit was not labelled properly. I mean, you would expect them to put their company name on their storage unit, right?

To add to my disappointment, the moving company told me that I was over the estimated cubic feet by 85. I had removed three items before my arrival, so the total number of items should have gone down. But the moving company already had space for 56 items, contrary to my 53 items. So, I had to pay extra money to ship those three additional items, which were an error on behalf of Makespace. I contacted the company, but they did not reply to my request to refund the money and take ownership of their error.

For me, Makespace was a complete waste of time and money, and I will not recommend anyone to use their services. They advertise falsely, are careless, and cost you more than you initially agreed upon. If you need hassle-free storage and moving, go for a more reliable company - Avoid Makespace.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Storage: A Nightmare Experience - Join Me in Standing Up Against Their Shady Practices

Hey, have you heard about MakeSpace? I had a terrible experience with them recently. Trying to get my things back from their storage facility was an absolute nightmare. They kept saying there were no appointments available and refused to return my belongings. To top it off, they continued to charge me storage fees even though they were keeping my things hostage. It's not just me either; there are countless complaints against MakeSpace all over social media and the BBB.

In my opinion, a class action lawsuit against this company is definitely overdue. They keep collecting more and more money from their customers by holding their items captive. It's just not right. I've been trying to retrieve my possessions for months now, and I'm not alone. Everyone who has been screwed over by MakeSpace needs to file a complaint with the BBB, the FMCSA, and their state's Attorney General's office.

If enough people speak up about this ongoing fraud, maybe we can actually hold MakeSpace accountable for their actions. It's time to take action and put a stop to their shady practices. Join me in standing up against MakeSpace and their awful behavior. We deserve better than this.

MakeSpace Avoid at all costs: Nightmare experience with MakeSpace moving company

This moving company, MakeSpace, is a complete nightmare. I cannot stress enough how much you need to avoid them. My experience with them was beyond terrible and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. Let me tell you what happened:

First of all, they cancelled my move only ONE HOUR before the scheduled pickup. Can you imagine the stress and frustration that caused? I had to frantically find some local college guys to help me move everything I own into a garage because our lease was up that day. It took a whopping 7.5 hours, and needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience.

Now, you would think that the second attempt would go more smoothly, right? WRONG. They only took HALF of my belongings and left the other half on the SIDE OF THE ROAD. Can you believe that? It's absolutely unacceptable.

And if that wasn't bad enough, they took a piece of furniture that I SPECIFICALLY told them NOT to take. When I asked them to take it off the truck, they gave me some lame excuse about not being able to take it off once it's on. Then, they LOST it. And do you know how much compensation they offered me for losing it? A measly $70. I mean, really? That's not even close to enough to cover the value of a piece of furniture.

To make matters even worse, they lost over half a dozen of my other items. It took THREE MOVES to get back most, but not ALL of our belongings. Some things are still MISSING, including a 100 pound dresser. How do you lose something like that?

And if all of that wasn't bad enough, they caused THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE to our belongings. I mean, seriously? Is this a joke? How can a moving company be this careless and incompetent?

Ultimately, HALF of our belongings were either lost or damaged. This is hands down the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the worst anyone has ever had. Avoid MakeSpace at all costs, and save yourself the headache and heartache that comes with dealing with them.

MakeSpace Nightmare Experience with MakeSpace: Late Delivery, Damaged Items, and Terrible Customer Support

I gotta say, MakeSpace ain't no joke. I wouldn't even wish this kinda trouble on my worst enemy. The way they handle things is a total nightmare. I mean, I tried to be flexible and changed my appointment when they asked, but then they still showed up late! Like, four whole hours late! And when they finally showed up, the stuff they delivered was wrecked beyond belief. I'm pretty sure it's beyond repair. Not to mention, a bunch of my things didn't even arrive at all! It's not like stuff doesn't go wrong sometimes, but what really gets me is how totally useless their customer support is. You can be on hold for like half an hour just to talk to someone who won't give you any real answers. They always say they're gonna do something, but then nothing actually happens. I talked to this dude Kevin, and he said he was gonna help me out, but then he straight-up ghosted me. Like, what the heck, dude? Right now, I'm seriously living in an empty apartment with nothing but a mattress on the floor because of these clowns at MakeSpace. It's a travesty.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: Mishandling of Items and False Advertising

them.

I have to say, my experience with MakeSpace was not what I was hoping for. At first, I thought the team that showed up at my house was great. They were polite and seemed concerned about my items, shrink wrapping everything to protect it during transport. However, once I started unpacking my belongings at their storage facility, I realized that they had mishandled everything.

It was a nightmare. My iron lamp was so badly bent that I had to take it to a welder if I ever want to use it again. All of my furniture was damaged, my floor mirrors were broken, my wall pictures were destroyed, and even my leather chairs were scraped against concrete. I was heartbroken to see my belongings treated with such disregard.

To make matters worse, the app requested that I tip the team $20 per person before they left, and they asked me to leave a Yelp review right then and there. It felt like an awkward ask, considering the state of my belongings, and I was hardly in any mood to review them positively.

What really grinds my gears is that this company is not even a proper moving company - they're a warehouse that has lost their primary business and are trying to use their buildings for anything they can to make some money. They take full advantage of people like me who, for one reason or another, cannot afford proper moving services.

Honestly, I would urge anyone looking to use MakeSpace to steer clear. They tell lies about their pricing and charges for picking up and drop-off, and their treatment of your belongings is negligent at best. I chose them because I have a back injury and limited funds, but I would have been better off giving my items away.

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere - there are plenty of other storage solutions that won't have you regretting your decision.

MakeSpace Disastrous Experience with MakeSpace: Broken Furniture and Lost Items

So, I stored all my stuff in November with MakeSpace, and they just brought it back in July. The first time was good, and the people who moved me were awesome. But then July came and the mess-up was all MakeSpace's fault.

Listen, they broke so many of my things. My dresser was completely messed up and trashed - they couldn't even save it when they delivered it. My leather couch, loveseat, and end table were also broken. They also lost some bed rails, which I guess means I can't use my bed now? And they even lost two boxes of my kitchen items. Absolute disaster.

I tried to file a claim, but apparently, I didn't get extra insurance so some of the stuff might not be covered. But honestly, it should all be covered because they were so careless. They told me it'll take them two weeks to find the lost items (like, shouldn't you know where things are?), and then it'll take them another four weeks to deal with the claim. That's way too long to wait for a claim, especially since I have pictures and documents showing how wrecked everything was.

Honestly, if I knew they were going to mess up so much stuff, it would've been cheaper to just get professional movers. I'm seriously so let down by MakeSpace - they were just clueless.

MakeSpace Disastrous Experience with MakeSpace: Damaged Items and Poor Customer Service

So, we had to put our whole crib in storage for a whole year while we remodeled. We sussed out MakeSpace to see if they could handle keeping all our belongings safe. Had a right good old chinwag with the sales person to see if they were up to the task since they was new to our neck of the woods. But look, we should have known what was coming. The day of the move the workers showed up late with a moving wagon full to the brim. They clearly weren't told it was a whole shebang. T'was quite the debacle, took em' a solid 7 hours, multiple trips and several different crews to pick up our stuff. A few days later we receieved the first of several calls about damaged stuff. Sadly, it wasn't just a scuffed chair leg - it was a broken glass table top.

Fast forward to the moment we got our things delivered, they were tardy to the party yet again. They took their sweet time, a whopping 5+ hours to dump our belongings in the front room. They carted about 3 items upstairs and by the time they were done the walls were deratiled, gouged and scratched. We also discovered that more items, like an entire shelf system had been ruined along with totes and boxes that were battered. To add insult to injury, their "free totes" that they keep encouraging folks to use had to be unpacked at the time of delivery, otherwise they want more dosh to come back and collect them.

Mark my words, if I could give em' any lower rating, I would. Now, I ain't no jack of all trades, but their customer service folks just kept spouting out policies and rules when we tried to contact them. It was as if none of this was their fault and they couldn't do nada about it. Listen to me folks, steer far and well clear of these cowboys. Go anywhere, but MakeSpace.

MakeSpace My Terrible Experience with MakeSpace Storage: Beware of Shady Business and Withheld Property!

Getting my stuff back from MakeSpace has been a massive headache. And I'm pretty sure they're up to some shady business. I mean, I figured that just like with any other storage service, I could just swoop in and pick up my belongings when I was ready to move back into my apartment. But apparently, you have to schedule an appointment just to pick up your own stuff. As if that's not inconvenient enough, they won't even help you move your things - and they still charge you a whopping 70 bucks. Nobody bothered to tell me any of this!

So, imagine my surprise when I called MakeSpace, en route to my new pad, to ask what times I could retrieve my mattress, bedframe, and other essentials, only to be told that they were booked up for almost an entire month! Like, what the actual heck?! I spent hours arguing with their representatives over the phone, but they couldn't do anything to help me. It's almost like they didn't even want to put me in touch with someone higher up in the company! I was lucky to have a friend who was opening up their couch for me because, honestly, if not, I'd have to sleep on a bare floor in an empty apartment for weeks, waiting for the next appointment.

I don't know how MakeSpace stays out of court because they're withholding my property without my consent! And to top it off, they're charging me for the extra month that they're non-consensually holding my belongings. If I were you, I wouldn't even think twice about giving these people any of my money. I don't recommend it! Although I must give credit to the movers; those guys were pretty decent and quick when I was putting my things in storage.

MakeSpace Poor Service from Makespace.com: Damaged and Broken Items, No Follow-Up or Compensation Offered

I used makespace.com and honestly, I wasn't very happy with their service. I had some things in storage from my mom's house after she passed, including a glass coffee table, a love seat, a TV stand, and a pullout couch. Unfortunately, they ended up breaking everything except for the pullout couch. I was pretty disappointed about it, especially since the furniture was only 4 months old before my mom passed away.

Thankfully, the company did reach out to me after the delivery and let me know that they would pay if I could find the same items or something similar online. I thought that was nice of them, but at the same time, I felt like they should have done the footwork themselves to find suitable replacements. After all, it was their mistake and my items had a lot of sentimental value to me.

I was particularly upset about the whole situation because I spent 10 years in prison and only had 4 months with both of my parents before they passed away, just a week apart. It was a really tough time for me emotionally, and having these items of my mom's in storage was a way for me to hold onto something that reminded me of her.

Unfortunately, even though they said they would make an offer if I found suitable replacement items, they never got back to me after that initial contact. I was really disappointed about that because I was waiting to hear from them and was hoping that they could offer me a decent payoff for the damages.

In the end, I decided to delete the pictures I had of the broken items because it just hurt too much to look at them. The love seat had a broken arm, the table had its glass top broken in half, and the edge of the TV stand was broken off. Honestly, I wouldn't even be writing this review if the company had rectified the situation and gotten back to me with a suitable offer.

It's been almost 3 months since this all happened, and I haven't heard anything else from makespace.com. I wish I had looked into them more before deciding to use their service, and I definitely won't be making the same mistake again.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: Beware of Damaged and Lost Items!

I wanna share my experience with MakeSpace (makespace.com). I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, unless you want your items to get damaged or lost. They promised me that my things will be stored in a cage that measures 10x15 and charged me a whopping $250, way more than the initial price of $199. I deposited 19 of my precious items with them 10 months ago, in September of 2020, and I tried to retrieve 18 of them on the 1st of July, 2021. What happened next was a nightmare.

They scheduled an appointment to return my belongings after 19 days. It's sad because I had to pay the rent for an empty apartment for that period. When they finally came, they had bad news for me. My antique English pine dining table, which is very heavy and solid, suddenly lost two legs and a side panel. They sent me a photo, and you could clearly see that it had been dropped from a great height, and the whole side had broken off. That table has a massive value. Currently, similar items are being offered on the internet for $10k to $20K.

That was not the end of my misery. They managed to lose one of my most important items, a leather bench. They claimed that it was due to a computer error, but they are still "looking". Believe it or not, other items were damaged as well, and it was clear that the boxes had been carelessly thrown or dropped. One of my couches was even torn!

Now, I advise everyone to steer clear of this company. If you want your property to be stored safely, then don't trust MakeSpace. Their salespeople might seem friendly and trustworthy, but they cannot guarantee that your items will be returned to you in the same condition you gave them. I have pictures to prove it. So please, take good care of your possessions and look for a more reliable and secure storage provider.

MakeSpace MakeSpace Review: A Storage Scam That Will Leave You Fuming!

Watch out folks! I was taken in by a sneaky little operation called MakeSpace and boy did I regret it!

So here's the deal. I live in a teeny tiny studio apartment and I don't have a lot of stuff. I mean, I got rid of half my furniture just to keep things manageable. So I thought, "Hey, maybe this MakeSpace can help me out by storing the rest of my stuff off-site." I mean, they advertise all these different sizes of storage spaces, from "walk-in closet" to "1BR". So I figured, "I just need a little walk-in closet space, right?"

Wrong.

First of all, they call me up and tell me that I actually need a "Studio" space in order to store my bed frame (no mattress), love seat, rocking chair, and 20 boxes. What?! That seemed a little fishy to me, since I live in a studio apartment that's less than 500 sq. ft. in total. But I was like, "Whatever, I just need to get this stuff out of here for a little while."

So they came and picked up my stuff, and I paid for the "Studio" space that they recommended. And then...surprise! A few days later, I get an email saying that actually, they had to move me into a 1BR storage space instead. What the what?! I don't even have enough stuff to fill up half a studio apartment, and they're trying to tell me I need a whole freaking one-bedroom apartment worth of storage space?!

I was beyond ticked off, so I wrote them a strongly-worded email demanding that they explain themselves. And what did I get in response? Some canned BS about how they reserve the right to change storage space sizes as they see fit. Pfft.

I'm telling you right now, folks: this is a scam. They advertise all these different sizes of storage spaces to try and lure you in with their "competitive prices", only to switch you to a bigger, more expensive space after they've got your stuff. Do NOT trust them.

If you're looking for a good storage solution, I'd recommend avoiding MakeSpace altogether and going with a more reputable service like Clutter. Yeah, it might cost a little more, but at least they'll charge you what they say they will, and they'll even do the packing for you. MakeSpace is a rip-off, pure and simple.
