This app is the only way that you can use shell commands on files that are on your iPad. But it's not good for being a development environment; I would recommend PythonAnywhere (it's a website, not an app) for that.

It doesn’t seem possible to enter a “tab” character without an external keyboard, making it quite useless for an iPhone. Also, after pressing close, it would be nicer to have a cancel button, not just save or not save.

When I try to ssh into a local server a white square covers the screen. I assume it should be asking for parameters, or setting up a preset, or something.

It’s not completely useless. I can ping the server with it. But that’s not what I wanted to do.

I get “bus error” messages after doing about 10 DNS DIG queries. After 5 of those errors, I end up getting segmentation faults after subsequent queries. Closing and re-opening the app fixes this until 10 more queries are made.

Pretty excellent app otherwise!

I see it very good feature if it can add few options:
1- Add ash keys to auto connect to servers.
2- list of commands to pre-add and run in a click

This really helps in emergencies to fix something from phone while on the go.

You can charge for this feature, people will pay for it.

There’s not much included with this, other than ping and basic Whois information available. Even something as basic as an ssh client/shell results in nothing more than a prompt to pay for something else that actually accomplishes something.

Not terrible, but there’s just not much here.

Please add back black theme and please this app so weird i don’t know how to add tools into this app and use and theres no any video and info in youtobe and google i need to know this app better by share your info in youtobe and google or give info in app you are all have to do this and please make the app easy for use thanks

Uses only version 7.0 of clang, currently I have termux at clang-14 and 16.0 ... Compiled some C files, but noticed target llvm. Used tar xzf, installed (Ipad $ package install systeminfo, sleep), and cmdguide, gitdl would not install.

Hello libterm developers, I would like to congratulate you in this amazing app. But some new features are needed. First, I use Edidown to write python programs. But some of my programs need external libraries. I would suggest porting the pip python package manager to take care of this. Second why not add a clear screen command, for example, “cls” Lastly why not add an Internet Relay Chat to make it easier to communicate online.

Was looking for something like this for a while and it checks most boxes, but is missing commands like ‘traceroute’.
One huge flaw (at least for me) is that there is no ‘history’ and I can not simply hit the arrow up key to repeat a command. Very often I need to test a network with an ethernet adapter attached and a simple ‘ping host.com’ needs to be entered over and over instead of just being able to hit arrow-up like on any other command line tool.

no vim. vi. nano. no way to edit a text file. a terminal program without bare bottom essentials?

ive often downloaded this because its a good idea.

but after 5 min i often ask why this exists. it doesnt actually work. theres no commands. no usability. i wanted it to work but the fact is what the fact is. this isnt a terminal on iphone. it just isnt. its a black box with a few specific commands and well. thats it. its not linux. osx. or even usable.

really? no basic text editors? they are drag and drop open source...

I use this app to edit and test python scripts from iCloud Drive. For that, it works amazingly. I use this to run them and external editors like Textastic to edit the code.

The only very significant downside that this app has is that it doesn’t support keyboards on the iPad that well. For example if you could use up arrow to cycle through command history or use tab to auto complete this app would easily be 5/5 stars. It adds a much needed application to iOS that makes my iPad even closer to being able to replace my MacBook Pro.

It’s good to see something interesting, fun, and useful available on iOS but coming as a Termux user on Android, I just cannot give this app a high score from my personal perspective.
The shell experience is not perfect and there are too little packages.
If the developer has time, I’d suggest improvement on Shell, virtual keyboard, package management, etc. I saw the repo on GitHub. I’m still a student, who may not be the perfect candidate to do any pull requests, but I still want to support the project, so I’ll rate this app as 4 star instead of lower.

I’m just getting my feet wet, so I know a lot more is possible. I’d consider this indispensable for anybody who wants to play with Python locally on the run. In the metro I might have insecure servers, or no internet connection at all. Besides, who works on a phone and wants it to be useless without an internet connection? This little app has tremendous potential: The more users it could get, the better it could be. Excuse me, but I envision an army of user-developers, contributing to an environment that is like a hand-held (fully-functional) computer. I’d love that.

You will notice the last update was over a year ago. In my case its been two years ago. I went to GITHUB where you’re supposed to be able to contact the developer. Sent 3 emails with no response.

Don’t try and use the app, after I installed it, I noticed “iPhoneOS sdk” was some how installed. I couldn’t use it because my phone is not jail broken (I think). I have no tools to determine this, but just having this application on my phone could provide hackers who do know how to access your phone and use it is a big concern.

I’m not sure if the developer even exists anymore. GitHub should ensure developers haven’t left their site, leaving everyone who downloads something from the AppStore hanging without away to report problems.

There is no operators! Just a couple commands.

Only useful thing is ping. Google cloud console app has an actual terminal on a server for free

What the Frick!? The app is crashing on 12.4.1? Please tell me why this is happening?! I tried to reinstall the app and still crashing! Why is this happening?

Isn’t fixed after reinstalling the app.
