Excellence in service
My experience with Janet Metz was nothing short of amazing, as she patiently guided me though some edits and I had quite a bit of anxiety due to the time spent creating the document and was greatly concerned about loosing information in the process of saving and downloading the document. I ended up needing to recontact her about helping me save some last minute edits to the document and she helped patiently with that as well. There is no way to state how much I appreciated her level of professionalism. Thank you, please share my regards with Janet.
Sincerely, Sylvia Marie Buck
Easy to use - Excellent customer service!
I used LawDepot.com to write up a medical power of attorney for my child who was going on vacation with her grandparents. It was so quick easy to use. I only used it the one time and forgot to cancel my membership before being charged. After seeing it on my bank statement, I called customer service and simply asked for my account to be cancelled. The woman I spoke with was so friendly and even offered to refund my payment back to me, along with an email confirmation of both the cancellation and refund. I would absolutely recommend them as well as use them again, if need be, in the future!
Easy to use, easy to manage, easy to file and search again
At first I was skeptical, and like any other FREE TRIAL I knew there is a catch. I needed to submit a Operating Agreement document for my LLC so I need a template. I tried Law Depot and it was very simple and easy, you answer the basic questions and they guide you the rest... I was able to download my completed AO in Word doc and also saved a copy on the LawDepot page. I didn't mind the one time charge of $33 it was worth it.
Now 2 months later, I needed another set of corp documents for my small business, and they have a template for it! Satisfied, I decided to pay for the 1 year subscription, it seems they have a template for just about anything I need. Thanks LawDepot.

CUSTOMER sERVICE
You have a "keeper" in Janet Metz... right off the bat I could "hear" the smile on her face... Customer Service has the potential to be a grueling experience for customer AND the company rep alike... however, this young lady has the skill set to bring the issues of concern into immediate perspective, in an incredibly polite and "hopeful" manner. I know it sounds like a small thing, but from my perspective it is huge when professionalism is felt personally... I mattered... and I will be back... and I think even more importantly, I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending your service to others. Additionally, the option Janet explained for such a low volume user as I will be explored on the next visit.
FREE IS FREE. LOVE THIS SERVICE
It is such a shame to see the negative reviews from people who failed to be responsible enough to cancel the free trial within the 7 day time frame.
I have used this service MANY times and have always been satisfied with the document, happy with customer service and when I had my own attorney check a lease that I compiled, he said it was legit.
If you use this service and think you can rush along, don't do it. Take your time, be careful, read the agreement for the free trial, don't be a jerk and just call them later to cancel after you FORGET.
This is a great service in a world where so many scams are running rampant.
They work hard and are there to help their clients.
I will be back again and again. MUCH better than Legal Zoom for leases and tenant documents.
Thank you.

Superb resource
We needed to create a purchase agreement to acquire a portfolio of managed properties and our usual solicitor quoted "at least ?4000" so thought we'd try LawDepot to see if there was a viable alternative. The template completion process couldn't have been easier and the quality of the final document was excellent. The vendors were complimentary and signed the agreement without modification. The payment options for this service were very fair but as this was a one-off with very little chance of further need to access, we chose the free trail/cancel after 1 week option. This worked perfectly and we now feel churlish that we got such great value and service for nothing. When we offered to pay them something, they just said "give us a review and bear us in mind if you need us again". What great people to deal with and what a superb service
Saved My A** - LawDepot is Great!
First time landlord here, and the purchase and move in came the during the pandemic and social distancing. With all of this coming down, and my newness staring back at me, I decided to give LawDepot a try. Man, they saved me, big time.
Of course, I had to look up local ordinances specific to my state and county, but I knew I had to do this. Then I needed to a good rental lease agreement that could also contain specific clauses unique to the property. They had an excellent template of it and I came out of this not only keeping myself and my tenants safe, I came off looking like a total pro. Not the case, but fake it til you make it, right?
- I was able to use their Rental Lease Agreement.
- A Walk Through Check List for before and after tenants move in.
- And a standard Lease Agreement with all the most important basics to keep me on track.
My nephew has started to buy rental homes, too. And I've recommended LawDepot to him as well.
I can't say enough good things about them.

I was a little nervous (just before putting my card
I was a little nervous (just before putting my card detail in and checking reviews on this site) - however i read them and proceeded. Let me tell you...
The free trial IS a free trial - just remember to canx subscription if you don't wish to proceed before the week is up - (it does tell you this)
I had a need for a commercial rental template
The site was easy to use - logical and i had no trouble drafting the extra things it needed (as all very simple)
The process is easy
Despite the fact that i have now canx my free trial -and probably to the dissapointment of the company owners - i must say that will be using this site again and will probably subsribe.
We are an SME business and a site like this is great for our needs rather than consult a costly contract solicitor (as this was a basic need)
One thing i would say to the site owners is... should the cost for a monthly/yearly subscription been much less, i would have not hesitated to subscribe however, a business like ours would only need to use your services two or three times a year and your subscription prices made this non-viable to achieve
I have given five stars here as it's quite fitting and i also know (as our company gets reviews) - that sometimes, people will wrongly moan about things that aren't really true or relevant. I hope this brings the ratings up for lawdepot.co.uk - thank you.
I was a little apprehensive about using these types
I was a little apprehensive about using these types of services that want a credit card and then say you can cancel when you are done. You will not get billed I was promised as long as I cancel within the seven days. I just needed one document, I had called to make sure that that was okay with this company, greeted by a lady named Carolina who was so sweet and kind not to mention knowledgeable, she assured me just to get my one document and if I ever needed your services again to go back to depot which I will next summer. Right now I just needed it for one document. After going in and getting my document I had troubles again, only this time with my computer, call back in Carolina directed me and showed me exactly what to do. The third time, I needed to call in and cancel the account, and find my documents since my computer was having issues, This time I spoke with another friendly rep named Kathleen, or Kathy not sure of her name now, however she was just as amazing as Carolina, she found my documents, email them to me told me exactly what my problem was, maybe I should update my browser LOL. My point was these ladies were very professional, went out of their way to help me! You just don't get service like this anymore! When I have my fortune 500 company I will be sure to look at these ladies up and have them work for me! Thank you again, you both went above and beyond and I really appreciate it! Predatory Practices
Similar to a snake I would advise not to get too close to lawdepot or you will get bit. I'm absolutely positive that if you use their service to the fullest extent you can it is well worth the money. However if you intend to look into their service for a one-time use I strongly advise you avoid lawdepot.
I signed up for their 7 day free trial, and either my cancelation attempt was unsuccessful, similar to other reviews here, or I simply forgot, as it has been so long I cannot clearly recall. I did not end up using their service and did not end up going with the loan document I was looking into. However, this is where it gets predatory, I have since seen not a single email from this service provider regarding my account, its inactivity, billing, nor a single promotional email. Almost all online services send you emails telling you about new products or offers. This one will not because a large portion of their income comes from people forgetting about them so they can continue to collect, as they did with me. If they sent you something telling you about a great new service they offer, you might realize your still subscribed to a service you don't use and cancel, which they do not want. I have now lost $330 due to my own stupidity with not keeping a closer eye on my accounts, and due to their shady business model. I am now in a struggling financial position and was combing through my bank statements and discovered these reoccurring charges. I called their phone number and the very first extension option mentioned is to cancel their subscription, which is awfully telling of their business model. After canceling through their representative I reviewed my situation with her and explained my understanding of it being my fault, I asked if I could at least receive a partial refund due to not once using their service. She quickly told me that was not going to happen. I understand that they have no legal obligation to do so, but to me not even offering to refund 4,2 or even a single payment for a completely unused service is shameful. I'm sure their upper management staff and directors are very pleased with their borderline thievery when they check their account balances, but judging by the tone and mannerisms of their billing reps, it is very tough on their front line employees who have to deal with the results of their business practices. I am not one to beat a dead horse and once I was told I had no chance at any refund I said goodbye and hung up, but im sure their reps have to listen to dozens pleading and begging to them every day to help them out with a horrible situation that they didn't even know they were in. I could not work in that position to be sure.
Then to see their copied and pasted responses here on this site filled with an explanation of how you are paying for access and not the service, so they have full right to keep your money is very disheartening. I'm sure their employees occasionally feel very blue at the end of their work day working for a company such as this. I know that MY very limited interaction with this business has left me feeling sad and blue. But I can thank Lawdepot for one thing at least. Although when it comes to me, and many others, they have only taken from me, without giving anything in return, I can say I have learned a $330 lesson that I won't be forgetting. So thank you Lawdepot, thank you for being so wretched in your practices that you will have forever helped me to keep a more watchful eye out for companies such as yours, and hopefully this $330 of mine that you have will save me more than that in the future.
Tenancy Agreements
I have been paying a monthly fee of $33.00 for the past year or so, and now that i am in need to print a Tenancy Agreement, i am not able to. There is no where to make a phone call and it has been very time consuming to say the least in trying to do my job.
I can be contacted on [protected] - Betty
Desired outcome: To be able to print my documents
"free" turns into paid under your nose
This is one of those websites that scams you with their "free trial" and then gets you on their monthly subscription plan WITH NO SIGN OF IT. Only a sign-up confirmation email. They will send you some template over and over telling you it was stated in the agreement and that it's your fault because you should have checked your statement, but there's something funny about this company. I've never experienced that before. They have a 118 day return policy to save them from returning all your money when you realize that $33 is being taken from your account every month. I lost $429 to this company and they did absolutely nothing for me. I printed a free document with my trial on the first day, never logged in since and they still hit me with that sorry response. They were only willing to give me 4 out of 13 months worth of my money back. I hate companies that thrive on this sort of business model. Shady written all over it. They offer no solutions other than their templated response. Awful "customer service."
Thanks for the further "justification" on your end rather than appeasing the situation with your customer. This is why I made the complaint EXACTLY. This response is the same exact template that you copy and pasted into all the other e-mails I sent you. Very impersonal, just information that saves you from having to give the money back to the "customer" -- if you could even call me that since I USED YOUR SERVICE ONCE while I was on the trial period. I want the issue resolved -- my money back, not your sorry templated response that justifies why you're stealing my money. Why don't you try taking some time to actually read what your customers are saying and SYMPATHIZE with them rather than throwing dirt in their face. Personalize your responses, don't just copy and paste it 1000 times. Obviously if people are CONTINUALLY having this issue -- there's something wrong with the way LAWDEPOT is presenting this information and going about it. It's completely backwards and I'm seriously dumbfounded by how a company like this is still standing above water. And calling you solves nothing -- you just throw the same terminology around, and use the 118 day refund period as a safety net for having to go any further to actually resolve the issue. I'm sure you're enjoying my hard-earned money that you guys did NOTHING for -- while I guess now, I just have to struggle. THANKS for wasting my time, money, and efforts.
I completely agree! This is EXACTLY what they have done to me! I tried UNSUCCESSFULLY TO CONTACT THEM!
They SEEM to have it SET UP SO NO ONE CAN CONTACT THEM!

This company is completely trash it is a waste of your time and money if you need any legal documents go to a different company the customer service reps do not want to speak with you when you are canceling the services that they advertise for is false they do not have time to speak with you and they have poor very poor customer service skills they wouldn't even let me get a word in once they heard cancel don't waste your time nor your money

appalling service
I am absolutely sure that this company is a scam. Please, beware and stay away from them. Just like other irresponsible companies, they are very quick in taking the money and too slow to provide a good service.
Plus, I didn't get my business number and I had to make numerous calls to receive it. Appalling. Don't understand what's the point of using LawDepot if I did everything for them.
One "free" form and then kept charging monthly, refusing to fully refund
Just as someone else wrote: Financially a nightmare.
I got the one time form but did not go back to the website (being extremely busy with medical issues) and thy kept charging me monthly.
They claimed that they sent me an email to warren me that my credit card will be charged monthly but no email was ever sent...
They continued to charge me for a subscription I did not intend to do. Called them they arranged a refund, but only partial. They are aggressive though try to be "nice"and make it very hard to talk to a supervisor level.
I will NEVER use them again and hope no one else does and that they will be charged big time one day! total scam.

Hate this website!
I joined this website and even paid for a membership because I needed to download blank forms. But only later I discovered that membership is useless and this whole site is ridiculous. Even if you become a member you are not able to download any blank forms! After I went through the process of filling out the forms online I tried to print them out. But you cannot print out anything without paying more money! I already paid for a membership! I don't see the reason membership even exist on this site, because it does not give you anything! This site is pathetic and I wanted to cancel my membership, but I have no idea how to do that! Asked their customer service, but there was no answer. Hate this website!

Legal document and printed
I registered with my credit card for the free trial of one week. I filled in my power of attorney and was ready to save it and print it. When I printed it, it looked all scribbled up on top of the writing. And when I copied and paste in words, the words were not visible and the formatting could not be changed. SO in other words, free for what? I got nothing except a waste of time. It was fishy how they were so nice about reassuring me that I could cancel anytime and my card would not be charged. ok, it sounds too good to be true and it was. it's not free and its a waste of time.

on-line fraud, credit card scam
This FREE Trial hook is a system set up to deceive you unknowingly into a monthly "subscription" and it is very difficult to cancel. I assure you I did not willingly agree to $33.00 a month and I assure you they did not send an e-mail to the address listed on the sign up as any legitimate business would. The number of consumer complaints leads one to believe LawDepot is set up to deliberately deceive customers. BBB has 89 complaints yet rate them A+. How does that work? Apparently a satisfied customer is not their goal or the goal of BBB. When you call Lawdepot.com they lie about most everything. DON"T TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU. Ask for a confirmation e-mail, which you will not get. Their FREE trial becomes a contract for monthly billing of $33.00 by adhesion. BE VERY CAREFUL. NOTHING they said in any phone call has come to pass. They are set up to deceive and they do that well. That doesn't make them good guys. They are low life thieves taking money from customers who believed and trusted their advertising and who were duped - not clearly understanding they'd be married for life to LawDepot. They DO NOT issue an invoice or provide any notice to alert the customer to their nefarious tactics. They put nothing in plain sight. They refused to send me the terms and conditions which I allegedly agreed to. If they operated in an open and fair method to which they elude, their little scam would fold in no time. They are penny wise and pound foolish. Cheap scoundrels of the lowest kind. My complaint shall next be sent to the state Attoneys General.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They claim they offer free services. Please do not fall for this. They are only out to collect the 33.00 from you. I called and spoke to several people with in the business and they were all very uncompromising and hostile. Please do not waste you money on this website unless you want to have the worst customer service available.
false advertising, fraud, scam Alert.
LawDepot is running a credit card scam: BEWARE !
They are nice on the phone while they lull you into believing they will cancel the “subscription” that you didn’t know you agreed to in “Terms and Conditions”. Try LawDeot for FREE and your married for life. They hid the fact that you use them once you get billed repeatedly. Once they have your account number they will continue to bill even after you call them to STOP the unauthorized billing for services not received. It’s like talking to a drug addict who promises to stop, they can't seem to stop charging for a monthly subscription you did not intend. You must Cancel your Credit Card immediately because LawDepot will tell you one thing and not do it. They may wait a month and begin charging you again. They are con artists, running a credit card scam. File a complaint with your Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission. Ill be adding the Canadian equivalent to file a complaint as soon as I find it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They are operating a 'con'
They are operating a 'con' once you buy something from them they start taking your money each month, they never let you know when it start and when they take monthly subscriptions and when you try to get your money back they won't refund your money - buyer beware, they use their purchasing process to trap you into a subscription - there must be thousands of people and companies who atre paying their subscriptions without knowing that they signed up for a subscription.
Financially a nightmare
Financially a nightmare, although the Roommate Agreement was fine. They are nice on the phone (Canadians) but can't seem to stop charging me for a subscription I did not intend to opt into. Called them within 20 minutes of accidental click, they sympathized and arranged a refund. Fine. But 4 months later I am being charged again and after calling them I contacted my bank to cancel the debit card (and get another one with a new number so they can't access it). Just BE REALLY CAREFUL and move slowly during the one-time purchase/free week-long trial opt-in and read carefully before clicking. They act like it isn't one, but their aggressive, wordy "free" thingy has scam all over it ... and even at the supervisor level they don't seem to be able to fully cancel taking your money.
HORRIBLE experience. I have been charged $33/mo for almost a year without ever logging in or using their services. I contacted customer support to have them issue a refund and they were only willing to refund the most recent charge ($33 of the $396 they have charged me).
I am here to sing my paper for my loan
This is one of those websites that scams you with their "free trial" and then gets you on their monthly subscription plan WITH NO SIGN OF IT. Only a sign-up confirmation email. I would be willing to say that most of the parties above had no intention of using the subscription service and only wanted something for nothing, and while I do sympathize with those that did request the cancellation as required and continued to be billed. I think the intention of the trial is so you can see the products and services they offer to provide in order to convince you the value is well worth it for legal document needs. Wake up America and stop whining that when you sat there in your parents nest with your mouth open waiting to be fed, someone took a huge dump in it.
Not properly disclosing a recurring billing that will occur as a result of a free trial, or not doing so in a highly visible and clear way, is a violation of USA Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules and regulations and can be reported to them if you as a customer reside in the USA.
I have to say, that all of you accusing this company of being a scam because their "free" document wasn't free at the end, and that is the basis for your bad review, you should just have a lawyer on call because you can't even do your own due diligence on a website. I went on this site, the FIRST thing I did was look to see what "free" meant, because guess what folks, nothing is free. I went to the help section with FAQ's and right there says "how much does law documents cost?" and then you can see that there is a charge of $33 monthly after free trial, or stand alone docs cost $X, or a flat fee for the whole year. An attorney will charge $250- $500 per HOUR to draft one of these documents. So boo hoo you have to pay what $30 for a document. So what. My basis on any review would be, is the legal document legit? And I might even put it in front of an attorney and pay for an hour to have him validate it. Its a legal document. unless you're using it to buy and sell lemonade stands, it could potentially save you or protect you from a huge liability. And then what's a couple bucks for a "free" document? Nothing
They charged me a YEAR after i cancelled the free subscription.
After spending several minutes filling out a "free" document I was then directed to give them my credit card information.
Don't believe them...nothing's free!
Law Depot is a TOTAL SCAM. I used them for a onetime form which I paid for no free service. They crammed my account for a year and a half. I didn't notice (stupid me) when I did I went to my credit card company they got them to reverse 3 months and were supposed to cancel my service. Of course, they continued charging me. I just now got off the phone with them and the credit card company and they finally cancelled my account. I'm sure that this isn't the end of this. I will check all my credit card statements in detail each month. I will also put complaints about this company everywhere I can a $20.00 form cost me $500. They say they don't even know or track when and if you use their service. What internet company wouldn't. It's important info.
I'm not going to say there is anything unethical about the options which LawDepot provides for obtaining a document. After years of internet commerce experience I find it quite common to have to take care in noting the requirement to cancel a subscription prior to a designated cancellation cut-off date. Unfortunately, what I do consider obnoxious is the ubiquitous use by companies such as this of having visitors be greeted with a predominant banner reading FREE Document then spending time to fill out the entire form only to find at the end that I still must register and either agree to a paid or free registration, the latter of which will require my remembering to cancel or be indebted.
If only the companies were up front about this requirement would it be acceptable to me. Without exception my instinct is to simply close that tab and search for another and more transparent company offering the same services. One that I would be willing to register with if only they disclose it without coercion. Unfortunately years of experience for e-commerce companies has proven that all too many people are willing to ultimately become a willing or unwitting paying customer. As for myself, these companies simply get added to my blocked URLs list.
documents not provided in time
I paid for an affidavit on LawDepot.com. I filled out the information, paid for the fee, with the 'peace of mind' provision. Then tried to access the document. I wasn't able to do so. I tried their immediate on line support, but it was not available. I tried their phone line, but they were closed, then I sent an email and got an auto reply stating that they would get back to me in 2 business days. I needed the document IMMEDIATELY. I had to have it signed and noterized by a person who was there that day only. I could not get the document printed as it wouldn't show up for me to print and I couldn't reach the support people.
I had to go back to my search page and pay for another service to provide the affidavit...which strangly enough, I was able to get in a matter of minutes at 1/3 the price of LawDepot.com
I tried to contact them to get a refund, however it seems that their refund policy just doesn't exist...even if thier system wasn't able to provide the document or service requested. So essentially they can charge you, but are not promising to provide the document, by their own refund policy.
I suggest that no one use this service.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I wanted to try the seven FREE trial, when I went to cancel my account Law depot wanted to charge me a month subscription. Besides, gave me a hard to sign in. I would like the fee returned to credit card account. I promise never to use you company or refer anyone again. I was very disappointed.
I may be outside of my 7 day trial period, but you are not easy to find.
Please refund my £29.00
