So we booked this place through Holidaycottages and man, let me tell you, it was a total letdown. The property we stayed at was like a whole different world compared to what they had described. I mean, seriously, it was nothing like what they promised.

But here's the kicker, folks. I decided to leave a negative review on their site, just to let others know about our experience. And guess what? That review never saw the light of day. It's like they didn't even care about our feedback or want others to know the truth. Talk about shady business practices, right?

So I did what any reasonable person would do. I reached out to the company, hoping for some sort of explanation or resolution. But you know what? Crickets. Not a single response from them. It's like they vanished into thin air, leaving us high and dry.

Let me tell you, folks, this is not a company you can trust. They promise you one thing and deliver something completely different. And when you try to voice your concerns, they just ignore you like you don't even matter. It's downright disrespectful.

So take my advice and steer clear of Holidaycottages. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration. So, I made a blunder and booked a cottage with Holidaycottages.co.uk more than a month ago, but silly me, I ended up selecting the wrong dates. They went ahead and sold the booking I made for myself and 8 of my pals back in October 2019, for the 11th of September, 2020. I've spent countless hours, days, and even weeks trying to pay the remaining balance, but their telephone number is impossible to get through to. And don't even get me started on their email service, it's just as useless. On the 9th of June, I explained my problem, and all I got was an automated reply saying they would get back to me - but surprise, surprise, they never did. In a moment of desperation, I decided to call the owners directly, and they reassured me that my booking was safe and sound. They even offered a full refund if the issue wasn't resolved. But guess what? You guessed it right! No refund has shown up! These guys can't be trusted, mate. Just take a gander at all the similar comments on Facebook, and you'll see what I mean.

What a load of rubbish! I can't believe this so-called "award-winning" company, Holidaycottages. Let me tell you, their claims are nothing but a joke! I mean, seriously, who do they think they are?

So, I saw their ad for Holiday Cottages, and guess what it said? Can you believe it? They had the audacity to claim that they're an "award-winning" company. Ha! I bet those awards are for swindling hardworking customers out of their money. And let me tell you, when it comes to cancellations, especially during this whole COVID mess, they don't give a damn about your valid reasons. Nope, you'll be lucky if you get a penny back, let alone the full refund you deserve.

If you don't want to get ripped off, my advice is to steer clear of these scammers. Find yourself a reputable company that actually cares about its customers. Trust me, you don't want to end up dealing with these modern-day pirates who are shamelessly taking advantage of the pandemic. They'll come up with all sorts of excuses to avoid giving you a refund.

You know what? I'm tempted to take these crooks to court. I'll show up in my wheelchair and make them sweat as I plead my case. They owe us a hundred quid, and I won't rest until I get it back from these robbers.

I've had an absolutely awful time dealing with these folks at Holidaycottages. So, when that whole COVID 19 thing started, I decided to be proactive and reach out to them to reschedule my booking for next year. My original dates were set for May 16-23, you know? Well, let me tell you, the responses I got from them were just a bunch of generic emails that seemed like they didn't even bother to read what I had written. It's like they couldn't be bothered, you know?

Finally, after what felt like forever, they actually got back to me and said they would rebook for next year. But guess what? They had the audacity to increase the price by a whopping ?220! Can you believe that? That's a 27% increase! It's like they're trying to squeeze every penny out of me. It's downright extortion, I tell ya. I felt like I had no choice but to cough up the extra cash, or else I would lose the money I had already paid them. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place, right? Me and my fam and I got to Scarah Cottage at 4pm on 2nd Aug 2019, but we bounced at 4:25pm. When we pulled up to the crib, we were all like, damn, this place looks dope from the outside. But let me tell you, the inside was a whole different story, man. I can't even find the right words to describe how messed up it was.

I got some pics to prove it, yo. We found mold in the shower and the fridge, dirt all up in them bathrooms, a table in the bathroom (like, who does that?), and dirt in the corner of the bath. And don't even get me started on the cover hanging off the boiler and the nasty ironing board. But if you don't wanna check out all the pics, just take a look at the bedside lamp. That thing was straight-up jacked, man. And that's why we dipped outta Scarah Cottage after only 25 minutes.

Now, here's the messed up part. This place is supposed to be 5-star luxury, according to the holidaycottages.co.uk website. But the owner had the nerve to say that these issues could've been fixed if we had said something at the time. Like, seriously? A 5-star place shouldn't need fixing when the guests arrive. And no matter what grade it is, no property should need this much fixing just to be clean and safe for families.

We dropped over ?1900 to stay there for a week, thinking it would be all nice and fancy like they showed on the website. But man, were we wrong. And you know what's even worse? Holidaycottages.co.uk and the owner straight-up refused to give us any refund for our messed up holiday. Can you believe that?

So yeah, if you're thinking about booking Scarah Cottage, I'd say think twice, my friend. It's definitely not worth the money or the hassle.
