Sedgwick Claims Management Services fmla leave coordination

My wife nearly died, I had to stay home with her while she healed. Within 2 business days of leaving the emergency room, I called and filed my FMLA. I promptly got a letter saying that my FMLA leave had been denied because I waited too long to file the leave. So I figured 'oh well, ' i will just use sick time and forget about FMLA. Until I got a call from Sedgwick today saying that the deadline for me to hand in my paperwork (doctor's notes confirming my wife's condition.) was yesterday so they are denying my FMLA, which they told me was already denied. I asked them why did they not call me when I had a chance to hand in the paperwork, they said because it is policy to wait until after the deadline before they follow up - obviously so they do not give customer's a chance to fulfill their requirements (6 pages that my wife's doctor had to fill out.) before their deadlines, giving them additional avenues to deny the leave.

However they still went in and adjusted my time card for me- completely wrong and incorrectly. I did spend ample time with the rep describing in detail exactly when i left work, the days i was out, the normal days I work and the normal hours i work and when I returned, but they did not note my time card accordingly.

I think Sedgwick is a horrible company and they do not understand the details that they need to understand in order to properly do their job.

Every person I talk to from Sedgwick cannot answer my questions, they have no idea about anything outside of the filing process, and they sound like they are tired or they hate their job (which judging my the posts about working for Sedgwick is probably true.)

Sedgwick is a horrible company - this is not the worst experience I have had with them either.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services - disability claim colorado

As I read the numerous complaints surrounding this company I'm not at all surprised. This company harassed me so often to submit new documentation from my doctor, it was so upsetting. My doctor as well as myself submitted them numerous times. Once it was investigated they found the documents had all been attached to the wrong claim... once this had been...

Sedgwick Claims Management Services poor customer service / rude employee

My husband was hit by an Alamo rental car customer, Sedgewick CMS is "working" on claim. Linda Whitfield the rep from Sedwick is extremely rude and lazy. She hasn't answered calls left daily by my husband and our INS company for over a week. He finally gets her on the phone, he is understandably upset at the lack of response and lackadaisical attitude of Linda Whitfield she repeatedly tells him to fill out some form and send it in, then when he asks how many hops did he have to jump thru for them to remedy this situation she hung up on him. He was the victim of the accident not the one who caused it. The driver of the Alamo rental car was cited at the scene for the accident. He shouldn't have to prove he was hit, it is in the police report . Sedgewick CMS is a terrible company hiring rude and lazy people like Linda Whitfield.

Claim is still not settled. They said they mailed partial check..3 weeks ago! No check yet. I am appalled that rental car companies use this inept insurance company.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services workmans comp related

I've been dealing with workmans comp through this joke of a company, I got treated and diagnosed and the doctor sent me to physical therapy for it and Sedgwick rejected half of my injury as being on the job AFTER I had already gone through physical therapy for it and now I am going to have to pay out of pocket even though I'm now out of work. The manager of their claims department called me and was a complete ***hole and was extremely unprofessional, he kept saying "I've been doing this for 20 years..." Like he was accusing me of fraud, they f***cked me and he was acting like I was the one in the wrong. It got heated and I used profanity at him (which I shouldn't have done) and he took his extremely high horse and wouldn't let me get a single word in while saying "if you have new information blah blah blah". I would try to voice that information and he would just say "LET ME TALK, or I will terminate this call. It's our decision and it's been made" such a crock of s***. You're crooks and ***holes and have messed with my livelyhood and my money. To all who have to deal with this "company", tread lightly and don't expect help. They aren't your friends, they're money hungry crooks.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services mistreatment

there no pros Elisabeth Gurry and Jennifer Brinson are rejecting claims do to personal conflict with claimants

Elisabeth Gurry and Jennifer Brinson are rude do not call claimants back and if a claimant complaint they make it their personal business to make sure the claim gets rejected causing the claimant to seek attorneys help and sue Sedgwick making Sedgwick pay bigger settlements to claimants that were only looking for medical assistants and get well this adjusters and supervisor don't care because they still keep their job regardless

The more your adjuster and supervisor miss treat patience the more money your company will pay in settlement cases they are the ones driving the claimants to seek legal help when they were only looking for medical help

Sedgwick Claims Management Services wc lost wages

Sedgwick claim adjuster did not make me aware how how little my weekly lost wages payout would be... $932/wk vs my usual $2, 000+/wk net take home.
Sedgwick had my income info weeks prior to my surgery.
I had no idea how onerous WC was for a higher earner in PA.
My Sedgwick claim adjuster sucks. She puts nothing in writing and will for the most part only communicate over the phone.
My advice, hire a lawyer as soon as you have an on the job injury and come out guns-a-blazin.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services workers disability

I was on short term disability back in November. Because they incorrectly marked my claim as FMLA and not disability I never got paid. They provide me with no information or direction, they don't communicate anything and don't understand what is going on. When I kept calling them, got no response, took weeks to get to my assigned adjuster. They are never available and it takes them days to call back. Finally I talked to someone and next thing I know they send my supervisor email that I am going on disability. Escalating it and now manager doesn't call back. Nobody there cares or does their job.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services shorty term disability denial

I had surgery on my abdomen and shoulder was in hospital for a day. Sent in all paperwork needed for my short term disability and was still denied. What do they want me to do go to work to care for patients with my shoulder in a sling and drains coming from my stomach. They are a waste of resources and time I hope my company transfer to another company. If it were them then they would understand. I THINK SEDGWICK NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

Sedgwick Claims Management Services short term disability denial

*Out of work since Oct 20 2016 - ongoing back pain, pinched nerve
*Am in the process of getting scheduled for another back fusion due to degeneration and a pinched femoral nerve going to the left leg. Original STD was denied due to Sedgwick saying they didn't get some Dr notes. I appealed and went to an extension, I sent in ALL chiropractic and Neurosurgeon notes excusing me from work until March 7th. I just got notified the appeal was denied as well.

I am in horrible pain almost every single day, some days I can barely get out of bed, walk up a few stairs, walk very far or sit for very long. Daily care is hard from putting on my sock or shoe needless to say showering and daily care. My days consist of in a recliner and constantly standing or sitting and moving around trying to get the pain to go away. Sleep is disrupted and limited to about 1 hour at a time. I have been going to PT for a few weeks now as well.

I got approved for November 2015 and paid, but did not get paid for Dec, Jan or Feb. So, needless to say, I cannot afford to stay home until my surgery, I am forced to go back to work and suffer and live in more pain due to the nature of my work, standing in one place, slightly bending over and sitting upright.

I would like this to be approved, I have doctors notes saying not to work and MRI results supporting my problem.

They dont care about anyone but there bottom line, once you get hurt and its bad, your damaged goods, they use your pain to incite fear and terror in other workers, so they are forcing you back to work, it is hard when you are so alone, but mighty is The God who watches over all

I am going through the same thing. I was hospitalized in July of 2014 was paid for 3 days. I returned to work in September. I was denied every time 4 doctors telling them I did not need to work I had no choice but to go back in pain. Same problem spinal fusion, Degenerative Disc Disease, Thorasic spine herniated and more. I am out again with this and sure I will be denied. You do have the right to request In writing all information they have on you. You will be surprised at what you will find in your file. They want to make sure you have been seen by a real doctor yet they have a nurse practitioner make the decision along with there hand picked non medical professionals. They had me working at Target and not my actual job. I had never worked at Target then they tried to tell me I did. I think I would know if I had ever worked there. They were extremely rude. I was in tears everyday your already in a struggle to survive and they make it worse. FMLA only covers you for 12 weeks. Sedgwick will tell you they are concurrent with the disability claim. That is a LIE. Ask to speak to the FMLA specialist. It will at least protect your job for 12 weeks after that it is up to employer to let you come back to work. I talked to HR at work that is a joke as well they are for the company. Basically we as the work force in America have very few rights.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services fresh express/chaquita

On Sunday 1/17/16, i made dinner for my family, per the usual. We had Quinoa and grilled chicken. I had The Fresh Express Baby Kale Mix with dinner, no one else did. Nothing was added to it. About 1-2 hours later i started to have bad abdominal cramps, i got up, felt dizzy, laid down. About an hour after that i had to run to the bathroom to just make the vomit into the toilet. This along with diahrerrea continued for another hour or so until i figured i'd better go to the emergency room because i have never felt this badly before along with the cramping and dizziness, i figured it was a good idea to be checked out. I have 2 kids at home and it was 1030PM so i had my mom come and take me to the ER as i couldnt even stand let alone drive. My husband stayed home with the kids. I got to the ER and was vomiting into barf bags and placed in a wheelchair -this caused the attendants to put me in a private room while we waited for a room in the ER to become open (all rooms were full and i was a hot mess so they did not want me out in the open (very emabrrassing)). After an hour in this private room and more vomit and diarreahea we finally got to an open room and were able to see a doctor. They did every test imaginable and everything came back normal. They called it a stomach virus, likely food poisoning-the doctor said as well as the nurse. Gave me meds for the dizziness and naseau and after 8 hours in the emergnecy room i was discharged., i got home at 645am. My husband had to miss 1/2 day of work the next day as i obivoulsy could not tend to the kids (they were off of school/daycare as it was MLK day). I was in bed the entire day 1/18/16 and very sensitive on 1/19/16 (i did not go to work that day). On 1/20/16 i finally began to feel like myself again and was able to work. I am an extremely active person/mother and for me to be out of service for 2.5 whole days is very weird and also not good for my family. I normally wouldnt submit something like this for any sort of compensation and just move on but it being so early on in the year, i havent met my health insurance deductible yet so will owe these charges in full. I have attached the itemized bill from the ER, the records from the ER, the receipt from when i purchased the item (i told April it was purchased from a Target but after looking for the receipt i realized it was actually purchased at Publix on 01/13/16) and the photos i took of the opened salad bag which i had to throw in the trash because just the sight of it obviously made me sick again. I also attached some research that i did regarding the difference between food poisoning and stomach virus-seems difficult to tell the difference of them/if any at all; appears to me they are one in the same. I have around $3, 000 in out of pocket medical expenses and submitted everything I have to Sedgwick who in turn denied my claim stating their client, Fresh Express/Chaquita, didn't cause my illness yet when i asked for their report from Chaquita, they don't have it. This is basically a word vs. word situation and they are basing a denial off the fact that no one else had complaints of this product. It is a shame I now have to pay these charges because of this disgusting product.
Fresh Express...more like Fresh Express visit to the ER.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services I haven't received my claim payment

I put in a claim to Sedgwick because they represent Rent-A-Center in Mount Holly, NJ to which they put a hole in my wall when delivering my furniture. I was lied to on two different occasions that the checks had been mailed out. My wife and I just bought this house and spent a pretty penny on remodeling, and not for someone to come in and destroy it and put a hole or crack in it. Now this all happened in DECEMBER 2015! Sedgwick Insurance is a FRAUD and liars...I NEED MY MONEY!

Sedgwick Claims Management Services impossible to reach claims adjuster or her supervisor or any person who can help me and no one will call me back.

All of my prescriptions for some reason now require previous authorisation from Sedgwick. I never needed this before I have been paying cash for less expensive medications of mine but cannot afford the nerve blocker recently prescribed to me. No one can get a hold of my claims adjuster or anyone to approve these medications. I have left several messeges and not once spoken to anyone other than the customer service reps. This is ridiculous I work for Starbucks coffee coorperation and if they knew how Sedgwick treats there injured partners I highly doubt they would continue to do buissness with them.

Date of Injury 7/14/2015

Ive been out of work since Oct 21, 2015, after getting the paperwork all in, I finally got to speak to Suzzete at the Honolulu Office in early Nov, she actually called me! I was so excited as she apologized for my long wait. She explained to me that she was having a check sent to me Via FedX, because it was my first check, afterwards a weekly check would come in. This was on a Wednesday so, no later than Saturday. That she would be emailing any details or info. I was elated! She told me she would call me back with the exact amount in 5 minutes. She had taken my email, my phone number, details of the injury, everything... Since that phone call ive must've called and left numerous messages to no end. In a Dec i called and the person answering the phone said that Suzette was on Vacation, so I asked to speak to a Supervisor, Andrew, but he was also on vacation, she said that my file shows that since Suzette was on Vacation the adjuster was working on my case. She gave me their phone numbers and I could only leave messages...NOBODY EVER EMAILED ME, CALLED ME...Then out of the blue I believe it was the Jan 4th FedX came to my door with a check?! I appreciated it, really I did...but imagine the holidays for me and my kids? Im a single dad...now I thought it would start coming in weekly as promised. But sad to say, im again leaving countless messages, oh yeah the gurl at front desk connects me to Suzzettes phone or Mr Adrews phone...I never got/get a call, an email, nothing, and so leaving me in the dark. I am sending you this complaint in hopes that I don't have to take more serious further steps. Please, email, call or text me back. Mahalo from Hawaii alex mateo

Sedgwick Claims Management Services unethical behavior after approving treatment for a workers compensation for approximately 18 years

I was injured at UCSD initially in 1992 and went off work Jan. 1997. My settlement ordered by the court in San Diego, Ca. County guaranteed care for my complex regional pain syndrome for the remainder of my life. My claim only provides 4 medications, Lidoderm patches and splints. Now they are denying without explanation all treatment which is forcing me off their benefits. Somehow they have involved my original attorney of whom I had no contact for approx. 20 years. This is illegal and just flatly wrong and I don't know how these persons involved can sleep at night. My attorney says my doc is not documenting properly however the documentation is the same as in the past. As karma says what goes around comes around!

Sedgwick Claims Management Services workers comp

Another un pleased claimant I was physically hurt at work rushed to hospital from work as I was unconcious. So it's def a workers comp case. I've had nothing but problems with sedwick and my advisor. I've done every step every paper that needed to be filled out and sent in that was done. I've been out over a month and been fighting since. I call sedwick everyday since I've been out and I have talked to my advisor 3 times total only when she needs something from me. But when I call it's always voicemail. So I contacted my advisor boss 2 times for her to say well we have not gotten any papers from any doctors showing proof why I'm out. Well that right there is a lie all three doctors that I have seen personally sent the papers out the same day so that right there I no they sent them. That's what's stopping me from getting my check according to them. Also every time I finally get a hold of someone they tell me we will leave an email with your advisor and she will call back. That's bull I have not heard a word. Sedwick is the worst company out there. Something has to be done. Its not like I purposely got hurt. I'm 22 years old been working since I was 16 No excuse for me to purposely get hurt I got 2 kids that I gotta feed but with this bull it's not happening. I need some type of assurance like what I should do maybe get an attorney or?

Sedgwick Claims Management Services workers comp denial

I re-injured my back on 11/14/2015 at home simply by sneezing and causing the affected area to become completely inflamed. I went to the hospital and got an MRI, the orthopedist who the hospital referred me to said the injury stems from the same injury as the work caused injury which happened on 5/13/2014. I received poor treatment from sedgwick from the very start (made me wait 6 weeks for an MRI and denied my first MRI appointment) and now they are denying any claims related to the same injury. I need a lawyer to back me up on this, but none want to take the case since there is little actual money to be made on their end.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services no response for claim inquiries.

2 young patients (brothers) were admitted to my facility after a tragic accident that took their grandmother's life. Both have Sedgewick CMS as their primary insurance coverage. Both brothers were admitted on 09/02/15 and are still being hospitalized. Claims were generated to Sedgewick CMS for services rendered and for the past 2 months, we were unable to get any status on the claims and if we are fortunate to speak to a claim representative, we got bounced around and later disconnected. Telephone messages were not returned nor emails. Would like very much to speak with someone responsible to obtain a satisfactory answer.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services case management issues

Sedgwick has been the most inconsiderate, unprofessional, and unorganized. I am the spouse of the injured worker that is currently under the case management of Sedgwick. Not only am I in the US Army but we are currently stationed in Hawaii. So anytime we have issues with this company we cannot get in contact with mostly anyone because of the 5-6 hour time difference. I do not know where to begin to complain about this company. My husband got hurt in Nov 2014, Sedgwick did not contact my husband until Dec 22, 2014. So not only was he not receiving services from them but he was also not getting Workman's comp from the time he got hurt until Jan 2015. He has been had 2-3 case managers and did not receive any information that they were leaving or were fired. He also was not assigned a nurse from the company until Oct 2015. He has had issues with not receiving checks or either his check amount not being correct. We have different numbers for different people that we have been calling for this entire year we also have several email addresses for different representatives because they just vanish without notification. We have been putting up with this feeble mindedness. This situation makes my husband feel like less of a man because he cannot work because of his injury to his bank and he is not receiving compensation from Sedgwick. He is constantly in a bad mood because he is not the bread winner in our family and because he cannot go to work and is in the house all day by himself. My next action will be legal through the Army because this is affecting my family worst than my husband being hurt. My husband is talking about hurting himself further just to make consistent money to pay bills. He is not even getting proper medical care. He was getting proper medical care through the Army. If this company doesn't get their business together I will definitely be pursuing other avenues such as legal.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services short term disability

I am a United Healthcare employee that has applied for short term due to a severe medical condition. My claim was denied due to my provider not sending enough supporting documents (which I understand). However a peer to peer was requested. I reached out to both doctors that I see, only to find out that one provider did not receive a call at all, and the other received only 1 call. My case worker said that it was documented there were several calls attempted and voice mails were left. After speaking to my doctors again, I found out ALL calls and messages are recorded and logged and there was nothing. Its apparent that there is a quota Sedgewick employees must meet so they FALSIFY notes and close out the claim. Now I have to appeal, and my doctor is aware of the situation as well. Has anyone had this issue yet? Any suggestions? I'm thinking at this point maybe a complaint with BBB and/or attorney or contacting a government regulator? Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.
