I've been having lots of trouble with my Ford Everest 4x2 AT, 2008 model. I bought it April 2008 then in January 2010, the engine stalled. The engine suddenly died while the vehicle was running at 40kms/hr. I had it towed to Ford Libis on Jan 27, 2010. They released it February 3, 2010 claiming that it was only due to loose communication with crankshaft sensor. The mileage of the vehicle was just 28k then.

I encountered the same problem again June 5, 2010. This time, the check engine lights went on. I had the vehicle towed again to Ford Libis. Only this time, they recommended to change the fuel filter. They released it June 8, 2010.

A few days after, On June 10, 2010, the same problem happened again. This time they replaced the feed pump. The mileage at this time was only 32k. I was not made to pay for the pump since it was still under warranty.

Again, the engine stalled on October 30, 2012. Again I had it towed to Ford Libis on November 3, 2012. They changed again the fuel filter and released it November 6, 2012.

Then on November 8, 2012, I experienced the same problem. I managed to crank and start the engine after 10 tries and brought it immediately to Ford Libis. They informed me that the problem again is the relay and I had them replace it.

A few days after, when I was already about to have the vehicle released, the service advisor called me and said that the problem is now the computer box and I am being made to pay P88k for the replacement.

I told the advisor that it is still early to replace the computer box. the vehicle is only 4 years and only 51k kms old. We had Hondas, Hyundai and Isuzu which are way older than this everest but have never required replacement of computer box.

They couldn't provide a plausible explanation as to why my computer box needs replacement. All they are telling me that it is already defective. Is it because of poor quality of the part? Is it because of the frequent times they had to connect to it and used the part for diagnosis of the relays and activators everytime the engine stalled or when needed during preventive maintenance?

All I'm sure about is that it was not owing to my fault or negligence. The vehicle was never flooded, regularly and timely maintained by Ford Libis. I don't even have the engine and under wash done by others, except by Ford Libis. I've been complaining about this and all Ford Philippines and Ford Libis can offer me is a discount daw if I had the PCM replaced. I told them I refuse to change the PCM because I believe that this is the real cause of the problem eversince and it is only now, now that my warranty has already lapsed that they are bringing out this problem.

P88k is only a small amount compared to all the inconveniences and undue stress they have given me. I am planning already to involve the DTI and pursue campaigns versus Ford thru internet media or engage into legal action, if my concerns are not addressed.

I have an ford everest 2008 AT 4x4 and I encountered the same engine stalling during cruising several times already. I alreaady replaced the common rail and AGR as a result of the computer scanning done but after two days after replacing it it started to stall again and only yesterday while i am on my way to tagaytay it stalled three times first while i was traversing slex (nakakatakot i was in the inner lane) second when i was about to overtake a slow moving uphill somewhere in silang, cavite ( again nakakatakot kasi i am overtaking) and the third one again while i was on an uphill climb in silang. Moreover, while i was slowly traversing aguinaldo highway the engine check light illuminated and stayed illuminated until i went back to manila. Ford Phil what is really the problem with these unintended stalling of you Ford Everest engines? I really feel unsafe when i am driving my everest.

I am having that problem too at my 2008 ford everest they say it is the computer box and need to be replaced...the problem is internal fault...they can not say specifically the fault in computer box and no way they should open it to fix...

i have a 2010 everest AT which had the same engine stalling issues last year. Ford service changed the filter, drain the fuel tank and clean lines. Engine started stalling again last week. I dont think this is just filter and fuel issues anymore. Appreciated any advise, technical or legal. my contact - dmtri252@yahoo.com
