I had my phone service disconnected when I ported my number to another service provider and then talked to customer service at Cricket to make sure that I would not be debited anymore on my automatic payment plan. They assured me I would not. I find out they are still debiting me. I call customer service and I report the problem they tell me that it is a pro-rated charge for the previous month. B.S.! We pay up front for our service or we don't get service the next month. I get the run around from everyone at Cricket. Quite simply, they suck! I will fight this to the end!

I reactivated my cricket service after purchasing a new lap top. Once my old went up I could not see paying for service i could not use at the time. December 2011 I reactivate service and every single time I tried to get on the Internet it kept kicking me out. I called there IT people several times and got several different responses to the problem. Finally, they stated it was a problem with my new lap top, so i take that back and they find nothing but agreed to replace my lap top and gave me another one. I try again with the new lap top same thing occurs I get kicked out every time i tried to go to the Internet. Finally January 17, 2012 and IT person resolves the issue and I am able to get on to the Internet but not until I paid $20 for the next months bill. Now February 7, 2012 they tell me I am over my usage and I can't on to the Internet once again. Now they tell me to contact Microsoft because the problem is on that side. Bye-Bye Cricket this service has gone completely down hill since you changed over to this usage B.S.

I have had no problem with Cricket's actual PHONE service, been with them for 4 yrs.
The problem I DO HAVE with them is their customer service, or lack thereof.
1. I am not racist in the least bit ... but often I'm wondering what country am I talking
to when I get customer service? And why are there so many 3rd party companies
handling this service?
2. You cannot, and I mean ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get a live human being to help
you if you have an ISSUE, and your service is OFF. Even if it is not your fault, and
you paid your bill!
3. You CANNOT call corporate office, you have to "visit" them! And you have to
stand in line, get in queue...it could take an hour and a half before you are called.
4. The website's so-called "support" link has no way of contacting the corporate
office and filing a complaint! There is no such "suppport" for you.
5. On the automated phone system, the call prompts have removed "talk to an agent".
This is so highly unprofessional, and it makes you wonder why/what are they hiding from us?
6. I've been a faithful customer for 4 years. And they don't cut me any slack or grant
me any favors for being a valuable customer. Nope, just saying.
7. I had one phone (got 4 lines) where the phone became non-useable. This is the second
time I had to replace it. 1st time, under warranty, cost $15 to replace. No biggie there.
But this time, even tho it was INSURED, they charge me $50 to replace? The friggin
phone cost $50! So ... I got it, yay it works ... however the phone was inoperable
for 2 months, and still no discount given for the service time, when it was not useable.
All they got to do is check the phone logs and see that it WAS NOT WORKING.
Give us the credit man! Adjust the bill ... how hard is that?

I purchased a Cricket phone about two months ago and live in the Houston area. Although it sounded great, have had nothing but problems with my air card and phone. I get spotty reception and cannot even watch a you tube video on my phone let alone on my computer's Cricket air card. It stops every few seconds, etc. Further, I purchased a phone with MUVE Music, and what a rip off. I still can't use it as it says waiting for Application to start. It has been sitting in my window sill for about two hours now, with the same message even though I have restarted it on several occasions.
If you want cheap talk, text etc, this is the way. If you are a serious person who uses download capability and email, pics, then you need to cough up the bucks for one of the big three. I left T Mobile, but rue the day I did. Further, you have to wonder about a company that has no "contact us" link on their website, unless you are wanting to connect with them to buy a phone and plan. Me, and my 6 friends that I reluctantly brought to Cricket, will be back with T Mobile next month. What a joke.

I have been a cricket communications client for over two years.
months ago all three cell phone lines started having issues with the text messaging as well as the data. After 8 months of calls, tickets, emails, taking the phones to stores the texting was resolved.
For the last month I have attempted to no avail to resolve the data portion and was told by the technician who finally fixed the texting it was probably an equipment issue. I spoke with Mr. Ojeda National Sales Operations Manager at Cricket Regional Customer Operations Manager at Cricket Communications on Friday 12/9/11 and with the usual condescending attitude of the San Diego office and similar accusatory voice I had received previously he stated our phones were in actuality NOT having any issues. I ended the conversation with him offering to meet him to show him the error messages two of the phones continue to receive and in hopes we could resolve this problem once and for all. He called me back and set up an appointment the next morning.

I met with the Pete Ojeda that Saturday at one of the stores and provided him a detail list of site we attempted to go on both phones the day before, times and error messages. As we stood there, I also showed him on the spot the problems we were encountering just hear him say “it seems you expect a 3g service when you have a 1g”, I explained that no, we simply wanted a service that did not have multiple daily messages when attempting to log on yahoo, hotmail ect. and he proceeded to amongst other things to inform my husband and I that and I quote:”you are receiving the service that you pay for and for the kind of phone that you have, this kind of issues are expected, you will not be able to get on many sites'

According to him even his wife had the same model phone [msgm8] with similar issues and all though there are pre-set settings one should not expect to actually access it. In his normal accusatory tone he scolded me for "my behavior by contacting his higher ups" after he stipulated your company would not do any further attempts to resolve this situation and he had received the Okay from all his superiors to cancel our service and send us a letter of termination.

Today 12 days before Christmas my daughter, husband and I awake to find that this kind of bulling strong arm tactics and intimidation are not rare with cricket communications a subsidiary of Leap, as easily planted on every sight you go on when you goggle the company information. My phones all have been disconnected, this morning i made a $135 payment just to find out that the month they credited has been reversed and now I am being charged more than that and a full cancelation notice appears on the screen when you speak with customer service .

I have been sending emails to the corporate offices as well as executive team to no avail. 2 of the phones that still have issues were provided by the company when we continued to have issues with the texting and data in July 2011 and I purchased my android for $99.99 that same month which removed the data problem only. Up until November 2011 the texting had not been working properly on ANY of the three lines.

Sadly as with many clients who have worked hard for their phone service we are being bullied because yet again this corporation seems to believe that they can do as they please without any accountability virtually saying that you and your family do not deserve a reliable service with customer care. Help me and others say “NO MORE” to such practices and telling BIG corporations to remember that we are the reason they are so big, customer service is a right not a privilege!
Free to contact: Pete Ojeda Regional Customer Operations Manager at Cricket at [protected] his cell [you will hear a sublime song but it is his cell] or Stephanie at [protected] office number both work for the corporate office

I have had Cricket wireless now for about 6 months. I live in Milw., WI. and my signal is great. I havent really travelled too far out of my local area cept maybe 20 or so miles. The only real gripe I have is my phone will shoot out duplicate txt msgs now and again. Other than that everything seems to be working as it should. Best advice here is to pay your bill in person if possible. I think if you pay at a corporate owned store they waive the $3 service fee.
I just never made it a practice to enter credit card numbers on the inet and allow auto pay for anything. So far, Cricket has been pretty decent.

i recently had a similar incident...first, i paid my bill online, which went fine-until i tried to link my cricket account to my bank card. then, they took an extra month's payment out of my account. before i got all that settled, i went into the cricket store (independent retailer), trying to get a better phone than the ascend...that thing sucks. anyhow, somehow, my service got terminated before i even paid for the new phone! i knew nothing about it until i got home and tried to make a call. once i realized there was something wrong with my phone, i called cricket customer service (now, there's an oxymoron). they told me that i had to go back to the store where the disconnection took place-a 1 hour trip- and get them to reverse whatever it was that they did to my service. i made the trip, only to be told that they could do nothing about it, as they were not a corporate store. instead of going back home, i stayed in the store until i found a solution: reinstate the service for another monthly payment. i was assured by both cricket and the store guy that i would be able to get a refund for all this extra money coming out of my account.. in a perfect world, that would be the case...but, this ain't it, obviously; when i took the receipt to crickret, they said that my account information was WIPED! no problem; fortunately, i had the account number on my phone. i gave it to them, and they looked it up...and then carefully explained to me that since the account had been terminated, there was nothing that could be done about my lost money.

this never happened when i was with boost. i'm going back to boost. my advice is that you follow.

I am valued customer of Cricket Wireless Phone and have some serious and urgent problems for immediate review and solution.
1. Batteries have to be charged everyday, even if do not browse internet or play music.
2. Poor network. Reception is lost at places where other friendly phone users receive signal. e.g. basement of a house.
3. Why all cricket phones ring about 4 or 5 times, some cases 6 times before signal is received at the other end. Iam saying this form experience. Because we use 4 cricket phones and I receive complaints from friends too. Please, address these important issues. Thanks.

As I was doing some research concerning how slow Cricket internet was I had come across a site that really helped. It explained that if people are having problems with cricket modem being so slow try downloading the OPERA BROWSER. has a powerful new feature called, "Opera Turbo". Opera Turbo is designed specifically for Internet users that are on slow or "limited-bandwith" connections. Hope this helps.

First of all NEVER NEVER NEVER allow anyone or any company access to your account for paying a bill whether it be for rent, utilities, phone etc. You are giving them access to take money from your account and make mistakes. Write a check, money or pay by cash and get a RECEIPT FOR PROOF OF PAYMENT! Don't bother calling them by phone because they usually give you the run around, a false name when you ask, or you can't understand their language, and problem not resolved. I have found that when I write a letter to them(and save a copy)while making them sign showing they received the letter(you will receive a copy sent back to you thru snail mail with a signature of proof they received your letter of complaint) gives you proof to fight back legally with the FCC, BBB or whomever you may choose. Whether they sign it with a false name the address on the front of the card proves it was sent to the correct address.

Damion your post shows that you are an idiot. Apparently you or someone you know works for Cricket. Whether you like it or not Cricket is useless and worthless. I hope that they get more fines more than they can handle and go out of business. I have never read so many complaints about this company online as I have found with Cricket. Whether you like it or not they are a lousy business. I have came across sites showing they were fined by the FCC for not answering customers complaints. So people keep complaining about Cricket and get rid of the poor excuse for a Company.
As for all of the Cricket users get rid of them completely! You are better off signing up with a company that has a contract that will resolve any problems that you may have with their service. If more people would drop them they would have no other choice but to go out of business.

Damion just be reading your post you apparently work for cricket, or related to someone that does. And by your foul language you are a complete idiot and ###. Cricket is a lousy service all the way around whether you like it or not. They have lousy customer service and need to be fined continuously till the customer gets what they pay for. OOPS...my bad...I imagine the ole saying is true that ya get what ya pay for! To all that are complaining of the lousy service that you are getting from Cricket? Your best bet is to rid of their service and find a company that will give you better service(which is anyone other than Cricket). Your better off signing a contract with a company that will answer your questions and solve the problems that you may be having with their service. If more people would drop Cricket then they would go out of business...problem solved,

I had mine for 18 months with the same results. I brought this phone into the local dealer 6 times to have a "master reset" done, and it still does the same thing. This past weekend I received a message alert at 9 pm. Too bad the message was left at 10 am that morning. Calls get dropped constantly, the signal from towers is spotty to say the least, and if you cross your fingers maybe the phone will ring when someone calls you. The 800 customer service sucks! I agree with Dwayne8328, as I might as well learn to be a translator when talking to these people. Another company that has off shored American jobs. Save yourself the grief... DON'T BY CRICKET !

I called customer service yesterday and they told me exactly what I said up above: When I called to inquire about this, I was told that my service is "due" every month on the 11th. My issue is that I shouldn't be charged for service when it was turned off. Isn't that the "no contract" part? So basically...for this month...it will cost me my 42 I just paid plus another 45.

You buy the equipment, they lie to you about their service. You are free to move on to another company, but you just got suckered into pay $300 for a phone and modem. For example you will not ever get to download all the stuff they say you can from the internet. If you download even one video they treat you like you’ve done something wrong. You pay now $65 for the equivalent to dial up speed 15 years ago. However their system calculates your usage is way off and the modem does not turn itself off, unless you are actually want to use it chooses to go dormant. otherwise it keeps adding up using time. It is horrible. The phone and the service does not work, dials wrong numbers, sends people multiple texts over and over and over, your voice mails sound garbled if they are there at all. I wrote to BBB and Cricket just repeats what you complain about and then says it’s too bad, no refunds and BBB closes the case because Cricket “understands” your complaints. The customer service is horrendous. The people are very nice and polite, but they don’t know what to do for you and have canned responses. Everything boils down to you having to find a corporate store, which are few and far between, and driving there. I’ve made about 6 trips now, spend at least 15 hours on the phone with these people. I’ve only had service for 3 months. They know they’ve screwed you once you buy the equipment because unless you want to just eat what you spent, you keep the service hoping it gets better, but it doesn’t. All the problems that were there 3 months ago are still there.I have so many complaints about this company I cannot begin to get it all down here. Also, unless you speak Arabic, you will not understand a word they are saying and if you call from the phone you got from them, using their service, you can’t hear them anyway.

If anyone gets a class action suit going, please start a web page or facebook page so I can find you. I will take part.

My boyfriend has been dealing deplorable cricket CS for the past two-three weeks. His phone had been stolen, which was not covered under their warranty. He went online to purchase a new phone from their website. He never received the new phone, but his account was charged anyway. He has been calling CS for the past 2-3 weeks trying to figure out how to get this solved. He had been told by multiple people that he would have to speak with their supervisors, and that they would call him him back in 1-2 days. That never happened. He called to get a phone sent to him, in which the person he spoke with stated that they would offer him a free upgrade due to the inconvenience. Nothing ever came. He called again, and then was told that he needed to speak to the payment department and get a refund and start all over. The person he spoke with said that they could not give him a refund, and he has pretty much been bounced around from one department to another and back. Not only is this company's CS terrible, it appears that none of the departments know what they are doing. Unfortunately, Cricket is the only network that can be received where he works.

Cricket is one cheap company, where can I start?

Well, great websites like blueapple.mobi(vuclip) and other highly efficient mobileweb and html sites are BLOCKED because cricket CAN'T HANDLE THEM. They used to redirect you to their cricket webpage when you entered a url they couldn't handle, but now they LIE and say "your device is not supported". FUK A BULL ###! Listen here bic boi, I have the Huawei Ascend, one of their best phones, with the unlimited data, and they are going to tell me that my ### is not compatible?! Fuk you bic, you very cheap. Your grandmader is old like raisin! The minute I TURN ON THE WIFI, wholly ###, the website works! Why would my ### be incompatible when I use THEIR network, but the minute I use MY HOME INTERNET with the SAME PHONE-the site magically works? Hmm quite a lot to think about huh? You pay for the unlimited data, and they stop you from using websites that are heavily trafficked. Using the speedtest app in the adroid market, it told me I had a few MEGABITS a second. After being with them for a month, the speed test now says a few KILOBITS a second. I try to download a video with the naked ladies-10 megabytes, about an HOUR later, only 6 megabytes downloaded. Then they kick me off the internet and tell me that the download failed. I could visit every site except that one now.(and the already blocked urls)
Damn you cricket, you take away my happy time. :( fuk you ###

Cricket is horrible. Service provided, customer service from their call center in India or where-ever it is at. I bought a brand new phone offline. I've had this phone 3 days now & everyone I text is complaining of getting multiple duplicate texts. My friend got texts from my # that were in spanish as well as English texts I did not send. (I dont even know any spanish) Internet/Data has been down on the phone for the last 3 days. I pay for this, & I don't get it. Can't send or receive pictures do to this being down. I call cricket, sit on hold for 35 minutes & get a automated message that all representatives were busy please try again later & got hung up. I call back & it says please call back between business hours. So instead of taking the callers that been on hold forever they disconnect us & close. i'm sure cricket don't want to pay the Hindus overtime. Next day I call customer service the lady says the only thing I can do is take my battery out, put it in, turn phone on & dial *228...activation? My ### is activated already! Oh well, did it, it fixes nothing.
I've had cricket in the past. It has always been BAD, but normally I can just take it & shrug my shoulders at it. This is getting beyond ridiculous. I even remember getting service & being given someones number or vice versa that was already active. How the hell do you give someone a number that is already on? Do your computers not keep track of this type of ###? I work in a call center, I know the environment, costs, etc. Cricket is lowest class of trash. I got it with the intentions of using it for about a month or so until I switch to a better provider. I don't think I will last that long with Cricket. Luckily I only wasted $30 on them.

I agree with what someone said about the chargers. Regardless of what name brand cell you get thru cricket I swear you will be buying a new charger for it. (Make sure you buy it off ebay, don't give cricket more money to sell you another charger that will need replaced within months) I have like 4 5 year old sprint phones that the charger still works fine in. None of my old crickets even have a working charger.

Think I'm going to give boost a shot. Didn't wanna go blow $130+ on a phone provider I knew not too much about but in comparison with Cricket, I'm sure boost will be amazing!

BUYER'S BEWARE! I ordered 4 cell phones from cricket, but can not get them even though they have my money. I have called headquarters, customer service and anybody else I could think of and the only response I can get is " I'm so sorry, there's nothing we can do". My phones are sitting in a fedex warehouse hundreds of miles away and thier (cricket) suggestion to rectify this problem is for me to go to the warehouse and get them, also they will not refund my money for thirty days, this company (I use that term lightyly) is without a doubt the WORST company I have ever tried to do buisness with, they do not seem to know how to do anything, and are incapable of correcting thier mistakes, as a matter of fact they treated me as though thier screwup was somehow my fault. DO NOT use CRICKET, they are NOT going to do anything except take your money! Signed REALLY PISSED OFF.

It is now 4/4/11...my account is still connected to a complete stranger. Visited the corporate Cricket store last week, per their instructions & spoke with manager Kennon Ellison. I drove 25 miles to this store for NOTHING. This joker gave me some story about it's being worked on & they would contact me probably the next day. No call. Nothing is fixed. Kennon never called me back. I've ordered a phone from another company & will have to change my number since I cannot port my current number - BECAUSE I DON'T OWN IT ACCORDING TO CRICKET!

I WENT TO THEIR CORPORATE OFFICES 20 TIMES, CALLED 50 TIMES THEIR CRAPPY CRICKET NUMBER, THEIR MAIN NUMBER DOES NOT WORK IF YOU TRY TO PUT IN YOUR ACCOUNT. I HAD TO TAKE THESE CLOWNS TO COURT AND GET THEIR CORPORATE REGIONAL OFFICER TO GET THINGS RESOLVED. I have had an android Huewai Ascend with cricket since oct 27th, 2010 and my complaint is with their text messaging. Every and I mean EVERY TIME! I get a text sent to my phone I get it 2 - 8 more times. Ill have a conversation and the previous messages sent to me from that person will keep popping up again. Its good I have unlimited cuz otherwise I would be screwd. I took my phone in and even the reps who use this phone also have this problem. Their answer... Its a problem with the network and it will be fixed soon. Its feb 7th 2011 now and its still not fixed! :/ im getting annoyed and ive been with cricket 4 yrs and personally about to take my business elsewhere

Its crazy to see people get so upset over something they can't control. I was a cricket customer and I was very satisfied with everything... Inexpensive and they give options that contract companies don't. Maybe you all should stop expecting customer service reps to kiss/suck your [censor]. And stop putting so much faith in man made objects. Accept that in life [censor] happens. Oh the reason I am no longer with cricket is because I wanted an android powered phone and at the time they didn't have any.

I had Cricket wireless internet service. It was a disaster from the beginning. First, I told the lady on the phone when I ordered the service that I had two computers they only sent one modem. I went to my local retail store to purchase the additional modem. I had a very weak signal the first time I tried to use the service. After taking my laptop around my entire house and yard it turned out I only had a usable signal in the farthest corner of my backyard. I went back to the retail store and explained the situation to them all they said was I should try a different computer. I called CS multiple times and every time the said I should try moving my computer to different rooms, I explained I had already that and it still didn't work. Eventually an employee admitted that they just do not have a strong enough signal in my area and no matter what I would never have a usable signal. He also said he would document all that in my acct. and that even though the 3 day return period had been exceeded by 2 days I would be entitled to a full refund since I had been working with CS from day 1. However, when I went to the store they refused. So at the store I called CS who now changed their story and said I could not have a refund. After multiple calls to CS and Cs going back and forth about the refund they once again assured me I would get a full refund. I go back to my local store where the manager points out on her computer the notes that say I am indeed entitled to a full refund. But she cannot give me a refund at her store because it is not a full service store. (yeah right). I must go 40 miles away to a full service store where she guaranteed me I would have no problems. I get to the ( Full service) store only to be told that there is no store that can refund my money, that refunds must be done by phone. And the notes that said I was to receive a full refund had mysteriously disappeared from my account. ( I knew I should have had them print the screen at my local store). And then her only other suggestion was to contact the BBB then she just left. I contacted the BBB and gave them my statement, then the Cricket store manager at my local store gave her statement in which she not only lied about her statements to me and subsequent visits to the store, but then proceeded to make things up that never happened. Cricket Inc., also proceeded to take well beyond 60 days to give their response to the BBB. They denied my request for a refund and their reason was more than 60 days had passed since the purchase. Well, I guess they don't check their records very well as I had already filed a complaint with my credit card company and they had credited my acct. for the entire amount.

I bought a phone thru cricket and wanted my number ported they told me no problem. I went home with the phone and it didn't happen, called them later on and still did not happen. Called them in the morning and customer service said that they will fix it. I could make calls so I figure everything was fine. My phone did not ring all day. Mind you, I use my phone for everything from my children's school to my highly demanding job. I then learned that I did not have my old phone number ported instead they had assigned me a different number. I was livid. I called them and they said they would give me a credit for next month service which was unacceptable. I told them I wanted to return the phone, the store manager told me I couldn't do that because I had used the phone more than 30 minutes, which by the way were used to call customer service. I called the customer service people and they blamed the store, I called the store and they blamed customer service; claiming both are separate. This was never explained to me when they sold me the phone. I returned the phone and demanded a receipt but they refused to take the phone and give me a receipt. I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE RECOMMEND THIS TERRIBLE PHONE COMPANY TO ANYONE!

Complaint against
Angel Martinez
Store #8024
Assault, verbal threats, and theft.

I went to the local mall kiosk to see about getting a Cricket Phone, 60 for a used phone $45 a month service and $15 activation...
$45 a month sounded like a decent price.
Suddenly, it is $135.
I ask the kid, hey where s the other $20 coming from?
He was too busy trying to get the account set up on the phone with someone one at that point to answer any questions.
So i asked they shyster looking dude there why my total and his total didn;t add jive.
"oh it is extra taxes on the used phone, federal taxes, not the normal 8.25%"
"plus you pay $3 for paying here"

Umm, no such thing as a federal sales tax on cell phones.
So I made them stop in the middle of porting and told them I didn't want it, and walked away.

I had written my personal info down on a piece of paper, and when I thought about them having my info, i got a funny feeling... so I went back and asked for the paper back.
"Umm, we gave it to your wife"
No you didn't
"yes we did"
No you didn't
"maybe it is in the trash"
Ok, hand me the trash and I'll get it
"no, I gave it to your wife"
No. Give me the piece of paper back.

After 5 minutes of arguing with me about whether or not they had given me back the paper with my info on it, guess what... they had kept my info there on the counter behind the display... It was right in front of me, out of my line of sight, and they just didn't want to give it back.
Why?
I dunno, I have my suspicions. Name Address Date of birth and Phone Number... there is a LOT you could do with that info.
The slimy guy became insulting and verbally abusive, saying he wanted to kick my [censor], and I walked away at first, but then I thought, "surely I ought to report this guy."

I walked back and asked him for his first name and store number.
Again he became abusive, stating he was going to kick my [censor], and refused.
So i pulled out my iPhone and was going to take his picture, so I could forward that identification of the person with my complaint.

Would you believe the son of a b-tch snatched the phone out of my hand, put it in his back pocket and refused to give it back unless I went outside and fought with him?
I ended up having to get mall Security and an off duty cop involved in order to get my iPhone back from him.

It would have been a lot easier to simple reach across the counter and teach him some manners the old fashioned way, but my kids were there. Turns out this guy was the MANAGER of the kiosk!
This is the kind of slimeballs Cricket employs to represent them...
So I would rather not HAVE a cell phone, or do a prepaid phone than deal with this company.

I can't help but wonder if your difficulties may have come from your lack of a good command of the English language. Many businesses and products are out there to help with this situation. Not only are there interpreters available in most larger cities, also, many multi-cultural areas in the US have businesses designed with the non-English speaker in mind.

First of all they make things in the world to help with suicidal issues. It's a brain chemical imbalance. I have dealt with it all my life. You cannot blame Cricket for your son's death. We are all people and have feeling of sorrow. But Cricket does not have an insurance plan. You cannot blame them for being responsible to fix your phone. You should have chose Verizon, Sprint, or Cellular One whom has insurance and could have gave you a replacement phone. You should have been more focused on being with your son every second of the day if it was that bad and not working about a phone! Why do people have to be ignorant?

I tried to get a broadband service. It never worked so I asked a refund. I was told that I would be receiving a check twice. 2 months later, I am still waiting. Now they say I may not get a refund. Company policy! I never used the service because it never worked! RIP OFF!

I was just screwed by Cricket today. I started servicewith them less then a month ago... I bought a Zio android phone from their corp store. It was junk. After 2 weeks of trying to get things working like they should and 5 calls to SUPPORT (what a joke) I decided to go with Virgin Mobile since they have a nice android phone. I took the phone back to the store and they told me that since it had been used for more then 30 MINUTES they could not take it back. 30 MINUTES!

I spent 260 bucks on this and used 2 hours on their support and that disqualified it from a refund. They were not willing to do anything... I am cancelling my other accounts and switching them to virgin... Cheaper anyway.

They were as rude as they could be and would not offer any options...just nope sorry.

I announced to all of the Customers in the store that they were crooks and had just screwed me out of 300 dollars (setup fee) and smiled about it and told them not to trus them... One of the employees smiled and said " thats not nice" I replied, what do you expect when I just got raped by your company"

Avoid them like the Plague!

BTW anyone need a Zio :)

I cancelled my service . Witnessed Verizon call Cricket to cancel. Kept the same phone # . For 6 months Cricket continued to bill my credit card even though every month I called and had the charge taken off my credit card. Could not get through to Cricket to talk to anyone. Could not access the website because I no longer had an account. Finally had to have a new credit card issued. There was no stopping them from charging me! By the way their reception and their phones suck too.
Stay Away! Worst experience, worst rip-off of my life.

We have had Cricket for some time now. It has never been that great, but for the price we tried to deal with what we were given as my husband was going to school and its really what we could afford for what we wanted. Where we lived previous we were told it would work not a strong signal but it would work so we purchased two phones and there "internet" The internet(the little wireless chip) NEVER WORKED and our cell phones went in and out but rarely ever worked. So i called to tell them this oh we are sorry for your inconvienece..I told them I wanted my internet cancelled as why would i keep paying for something that didnt work at all. I cancelled within a few days of starting the service. So the next month comes and we are still charged for the net. I call and talk to someone that assures me it is now cancelled and I would have the remaining amount from the previous month subtracted from my cell phone bill. The next month comes and YET AGAIN im charged for my internet and the amount WAS NOT subtracted from my bill. SO YET AGAIN VERY ANGRY THIS TIME i called and had for with the manager. They ended up refunding me ONE month and said there was nothing else they could do. If we hadnt been in dire straights with money due to hubby schooling we would have up and left, but again we stayed with the cell phone even though they insisted there was NOTHING they could do to give us the other month back. So then we move from Utah to Indiana. We right away before our bill was due went to a cricket place at the mall to get our service switched over so we could have service. Apparently they were through cricket but considered something else. I asked what the difference was they said NO DIFFERENCE you even call cricket with problems and what not. So we continued to ask about how well the phones worked and making sure everything was still unlimited. He proceeded to tell us that in certain areas we would be alot that we would be roaming. So we asked will this affect our bill? will we be charged more? will there be a limit to roaming. The man answered NO all it does is takes off the towers, you will never have a limit and will not be charged extra. Wow wonderful! So we get home and right away the phones are not working. When we tried to call out it said the wireless costumer you are trying to call is not in service. So we call no biggie they said they had to refresh the phones. Well within the next month we had to do this SEVERAL TIMES. Keep in mind we now have 3 phones as the family plan wasnt much more for a extra phone so we went with it as it sounded as if cricket was better in our new area. So anyway i call in this months time and i was told that I would get my next month free as we were barely able to use our phones AT ALL that month. Next bill comes and its still full charge. So of course i call again i know this song and dance Im not stupid and they insist they would NEVER offer that because they were not able to. Umm dont they offer a free month at start up of service? why would a free month on a non working month so far fetched? I still insisted on the month they ended up giving me like 10 days free wow at least i got SOMETHING this time even though it was far more then 10 days we were without useage. So this continued at least four more times in our time of having this phone for almost 4 months now, but i just called and got it fixed and was like screw it. So now yesterday i get a text saying my service will be changed because by the contract im using way too much roaming? As you guessed it I called. Explained what i was told when I signed up and all she said was Im sorry for the inconvience. Oh gosh stop reading the darn screen you are not sorry its what you have been told to say. So I guess because we use too much roaming i asked what too much was and how much time we were aloud on roaming since the other guy said there was no limit but im guessing there really is she told me lol "im sorry since we are a unlimited telephone company i really am not sure what the limit is" WOW really? this is crazy? They are telling me i am over my limit but she said they dont know what the limit is because its an unlimited service? This girl also had no idea what it meant that we had to switch back to the old service and said i would just have to wait until the beginning of next month when it switches over and see what happens. So i said so what happens when i pay my bill and the service is total crap and doesnt even work do i lose my month I paid for even if it doesnt work with you switching my plan without a real reason or for that matter Im not sure it even says in the contract that I didnt even sign that they could switch my service like this at any time. She procceeded to say unfortuantly yes you would lose out on that money.

needless to say my husband has graduated college and we will be switching services
DO NOT GO TO CRICKET it sounds nice, but its not worth the hastle and money lost!

DO NOT GIVE CRICKET YOUR CREDIT CARD. THEY WILL CHARGE IT, YOU WILL FIGHT TO THE POINT OF FRUSTRATION AND THEY WILL NEVER GIVE IT BACK.

Here is my horror story. I purchased 3 phones from the Internet with 1 month of service up front for each phone for a total of $142.44. My monthly payment was supposed to be $118.11.

** Keep in mind - Cricket does not let you activate a phone without paying for the first month.

About 15 days later, I receive a text that my next bill would be $256.88. My wife called the 1-800 number and they said "not to worry, you will not be charged that" and that my online transaction has not been applied to my account. About 15 days later, we get our credit card statement and they charged our credit card $256.88.

When I called the 1-800 number, they said they do not see my payment of $142.44 and that they can not tell me why or provide me with detail of why I was charged $256.88 and that I had to go to my local Cricket store.

My local cricket store could not help me with this problem and gave me 2-3 numbers to call which all led back to the original 1-800 number.

Turned out that they charged my credit card AGAIN for my first month of service for each phone and continued to tell me they do not show my first month payment that was paid up front.

** Keep in mind - Cricket does not let you activate a phone without paying for the first month.

So if cricket does not activate your phone without the first month up front, how is it that I have service without paying my first month of service.

I had the hardest time explaining this to them to the point they said that my bank charged the $256.88 in error and not them. The 1-800 Customer service people hung up on me several times and gave me the run around. I am still fighting it.

WARNING:
DO NOT GIVE CRICKET YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR AUTO PAY. THEY WILL CHARGE IT AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR MONEY. OTHERS HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT FRAUDULENT CHARGES EVEN AFTER THE SERVICE IS DISCONNECTED AND THEY CANCELED THE AUTO PAY.

If this is happened to you. I would advise you to change your credit card account and get a new credit card number.
