I ordered the $99 per month 'Bundle my Services' offered by AT& T/Direct TV. The way the deal supposedly worked is each bills you separately, but AT&T offers rebates on each bill to offset the amount of the billing to equal a total of $99 per month. Each month for three months I received separate billing: AT&T $120 and DXirect TV $60, for a total of $180. After complaining each month, not receiving credits for the overbilling, and the billing not being corrected, I cancelled the contract. At that time Direct TV withdrew $300 from my account for 'early cancellation fee' and since that time AT&T has turned me over to first collection agencies, then to collection attorneys. I have turned both of them over to my lawyer.

DIRECTV advertises a price on TV ($29.99), and I was told the same by local AT&T business office. However, was billed almost double. After many futile calls to DIRECTV to receive advertised price, was told I had to REQUEST the lower price (!), and would not receive it for "about two months due to processing time!" Finally, Benjamin (in retentions) gave me the advertised price, which I paid. However, rcvd bill from DIRECTV demanding the unadvertised price, plus arrearages!

Though it is stated NOWHERE, have been told my contract is for 18 months (!), so will be billed higher price from months 13 thru 18.

In short, DIRECTV MISREPRESENT pricing and contracts.

I am very dissatisfied with at&t/direct tv.I received in the mail back in march09 for a total package which I was told would be 97.98 plus the sales tax for the area in which I live.I ask the person that setup my account specific questions like there will only be one bill he advised yes this is a bundle package he never, never, never advised that i would receive seperate bills from both at&t and direct tv so I first called direct tv to speak to someone about this they advised no mame we dont have bundles we bill seperatly we will possibly have this type of billing not until later this year .I feel that I was mislead to believe that this was going to be one bill just the way the local companys do.I WAS LIED TO AND IM NOT VERY HAPPY...And yes as other comments I have read THIS IS A BIG SCAM!!! I am so tired of all these companys ripping off the hard working people while they get there big bounses and all there bail outs...Springhill Fl

Direct TV continues to overcharge us every month. They never sent "free" DVD clamshell player that was part of promotion. They sold me on a package at a certain movers offer, the screwed up my billing for 6 months then told me that offer wasn't available anymore! ...even though it's what I originally ordered. Long story short...I have problems EVERY month with Direct TV. They always change my bill and are always very rude on the phone. No picture quality is worth the headache you will get with direct tv.

We signed up for highspeed and DTV through ATT by a long phone conversation. It was only after the failed DTV install, due to the misentered order, that I discoverd that there was a $480 DTV cancellation fee attached to this bundled contract. I immediately asked ATT to rescind and when I didn't hear back, I cancelled the order(s). I never received or activated either of these services as there is no way I would commit to such a cancellation fee if it had been disclosed. Predictibly, I received a bill from ATT a few weeks later for $163 for items that make no sense. I have filed a complaint with the BBB to resolve it as no one @ ATT can explain or void the bill and I am sure others are coming. The real issue is the nondisclosure of the cancellation fee, I personally know of someone who was billed for this.

I am thankful to not get involved with either of these two companies, they can't even resolve their own internal billing issues. Can you imagine ATT trying to bundle and manage services, bills, rebates, etc. with another company and manage that as well?

PS. I went back to my ctv provider and they lowered my fees to below what the ATT/DTV bundled, rebated, nightmare plan "offered"

*Thank you for posting your problems on here. I was going to sign up, but have reconsidered after stumbling on this message board. $99 sounds like a steal, until you find out they're stealing from you. I hate that big companies do this to regular people because they can, and many of us live in cities run by cable/satellite monopolies, so if we want to watch TV, we have to pay obscene fees, and costs to do so. We should boycott ATT, cable, and satellite, and see what they do about it then.

I love my directv, kicks cable's ass in quality and yes, there is a rebate but it took me less than 5 minutes to complete... and I have been with the service for 4 months and my rebate was applied to my first bill... but you should fill out the rebate before the installer arrives... you other people obviously don't listen to what is told to you on the telephone... and read your mail because they sent me a letter BEFORE my installer even arrived... open your eyes next time and your ears... it's all in print??! can't you people read or are you really that lazy??

I am having the exact same problem...I ordered the bundle package on 6-30-09 ..tv, home phone-all distance, and internet for 99.00 per month...I upgraded Directv as required by ATT, andwas told the changes would be effective that date. Well 2 weeks later, I received a notice from ATT stating since an independent verification wasn't done, nothing waschanged. I had LD calls out there, I upgraded my satellite, I did everything I was suppose to do, but ATT failed to do its job. So again, I went through the process again, this time info was verified, and what happens when I received my bills...it showed the upgraded rate with Directv, but no bundles. When i called Directv, they had no record of ever receiving the info from ATT...I called ATT, they said, OH, did anyone tell you to go online and download the rebates for the discounts? I went round and round with these people, and nothing has been done, my bill is still not correct. I am looking to drop all of it, I am currently shopping around, because as far as I am concerned, I am not under contract, since I did not get what I ordered. ATT's customer service useless!!!

I agree that AT&T and Direct TV are very misleading and dishonest.

Sometimes when I'm trying to solve a problem with them It can take two
full days tryingto work it out because I keep being dropped while put on hold,
or they keep transforing me and then i have to repeat my problem again. This
is very humiliating!!! Plus I keep getting operators that don't know anything.

I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BUNDLING I JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A RIPOFF. I HAVE BOTH AT&T AND DIRECT TV BUT I DID NOT BUNDLE THEM. WHEN I FIRST SIGNED UP WITH DIRECT TV I WAS AWARE OF THE 18 MONTH CONTRACT BUT I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET A DISCOUNT FOR 12 MONTHS. I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT THE PAPERS COULD BE FILLED OUT BEFORE INSTILLATION I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THAT WOULD WORK. IT TOOK ME FOUR MONTHS TO GET THE DISCOUNT STARTED AND I FILLED THE FORMS ONLINE THE DAY I GOT CONNECTED. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH DIRECT TV. I HAD DISH BEFORE THAT AND I NEVER DID GET MY REBATE OR DISCOUNT. I CALLED THEM EVERY MONTH FOR 18 MONTHS. AS SOON AS THE CONTRACT EXPIRED I CANCELLED. THEN THEY OFFERED TO GIVE ME THE REBATE IF I SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT. THATS WHY IM WITH DIRECT. AT&T IS THE ONLY PHONE WE HAVE IN THIS AREA AND THEY HAVE RIPPED ME OFF SO MANY TIMES I KNOW NOT TO DEAL WITH THEM UNLESS I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. I SIGNED UP FOR CALLER ID AND THE SAID SINCE I ALREADY HAD CALL WAITING I COULD PICK 1 OTHER EXTRA FUNCTION SUCH AS CALL FORWARDING AND IT WOULD COST $5.00 FOR THE PACKAGE SO I SIGNED UP FOR THAT. WHEN I GOT THE BILL THEY CHARGES $16.SOMETHING FOR JUST THE CALLER ID THE EXTRA FOR THE OTHER 2 FUNCTIONS. WE WERE INFORMED THAT IT DIDNT MATTER WHAT WE WERE TOLD ON THE PHONE THIS CHARGE WAS FOR TARIFFS? AND THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER THAT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I CANCELLED THAT. ANOTHER TIME I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST $2.00 A MONTH JUST TO BE ABLE TO MAKE LONG DISTANCE CALLS. I CHOSE NOT TO USE MY HOME PHONE TO MAKE LONG DISTANCE CALLS SO I CHOSE NOT TO PAY THE $2.00 A MONTH. I NEEDED TO MAKE A CALL FROM MY HOME SO I DIALED 10-10-811 AND COMPLETED THE CALL. I WAS CHARGED $8.97 TO BE CONNECTED TO 10-10-811 AND THE CALL DIDN'T GO THROUGH. THEN MY SON BOUGHT ME A $10.00 CALLING CARD. I WAS WORTH 33 MINUTES. I HAD BEEN BUYING CALLING CARDS AT THE 99CENT STORE. YOU GET 99MINUTES FOR 99CENTS. I JUST DON'T SEE DOING BUSINESS THAT I JUST DON'T ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT EVERYONE IS HAVING WITH BUNDLING. I THINK IF YOU CAN KEEP AT&T OUT OF IT YOU MIGHT BE OK WITH JUST DIRECT TV. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WITH GETTING THINGS STRAIGHTENED OUT.

Direct TV is a ripoff. We experienced much the same thing here. We had a storm that knocked our satellite around and after 4 phone calls and 2 hours on the phone they won't come to realign it for 4 days. And they want 50.00 do that.

I went to AT&T's web site to order a bundle for $99. The bundle include unlimited long distance, internet and 265 channels, which "coincidently" is the number listed under the premium package. The site kept giving me error messages for THREE DAYS! I seemed to recall the same problem when I first tried to order AT&T online. Anyway, I called Direct TV and explained the situation and of course the sales rep on the line is very cordial and reassures me that they will be happy to help me. They take my information and start thanking me for choosing Direct TV when I interrupt and ask about how the "bundling" will take place. They tell me I have to call AT&T back, which I do. AT&T tells me the only way I can do that is on their non-working website. I have flashbacks of the horrible Charter customer service and immediately call Direct TV back to cancel. I get another rep on the line who during our conversation informs me that even though the $99 plan included 265 channels and the premium package included 265 channels, I hadn't ordered the premium package. They apparently added a bunch of useless music channels to bring the total to 265 to sucker folks in. So, she now upsells me to the package I thought I was ordering, with the NFL ticket free for a limited time (cancel after 5 months) so instead of $99, it's $150. I rolled my eyes and thought to myself, it's Charter all over again, but $150 including phone, internet and the premium package really isn't too bad, just not what they alluded to in their ad. So, I confirm one more time that this will be all bundled under one bill for the $150 and am told it will take 2 or 3 billing cycles but it will happen. Well, all that's happened is my Direct TV bill has gone up to $144 and I'm still getting my normal bill for phone/internet. I've called, written and emailed both AT&T and Direct TV and am ready to cancel both providers. Direct TV can dump their early cancellation fee on me if they want, but I'm not paying it.

i agree with you TJH.. both companies AT&T and DirectTV should be taken to a class action suit.. when you say "DirectTV can dump early cancellation fee on me., but i am not paying it."..! i bet they have your credit card and other information from AT&T and they will charge your CC without your authorization.. be weary of those companies.. i've got my refund and cancelled the whole thing alltogether.. but truly, the public / consumers are getting ripped on these deals..

I too am being ripped off by AT&T-Direct TV bundle. After the first year and the removal of lower pricing, AT&T has so far increased its price marginally, however Direct TV went up 75%.

Our experience with these people is unreal... my husband called them as he saw an ad for the "bundle". He was told it would be $92. and change
per month for a bundle that included TV, internet, and phone. Within two weeks Direct TV took the first monthly payment out of our bank account.
It was for $102. and change. Less than a week later we get a bill from ATT
in the amount of $224.32. Naturally I called Direct TV as a bill total of $326. and change is a far cry from the $92. plus tax we were quoted. The person we talked to there said our service was NOT a bundle. I hung up the phone and called my bank to prevent them from taking another dime out of our account. We then called them back and canceled. I also called ATT and canceled with them too since they claim it is not a bundle service. I asked for a confirmation number for the cancel, and was given one. I would suspect that the number I was given is as fake as the name of the person I spoke to...Miss Jones.

This isn't over I'm sure, lucky for me that I still have the flyer their ad for the bundle service was in.

Wow, I wish my husband had read these before he talked to the guy on the phone over the weekend. They have been calling us night & day for months and he finally answered and talked to them and ordered the 'bundle' for $99. Now I'm worried how this is going to go...

We bundled, and after months of exhausting phone calls. the overcharges continued. At&T along with Direct TV should be audited and held accountable. They are thieves...It was a bate and switch scheme...I see I am not alone. This must have been in the millions of Dollar profit for them... Sounds like a class action suit is in order.. Are they to big to care about their customers or their reputation... Corrupt businesses should be held to account...
