Aspen Dental The worst place you can go to get dental services

They made me a lower denture, that I woke up with after having my teeth removed on the 20th of September. The denture is so big it wouldn't fit Mr. Ed. They cleaned out my insurance money. They charged them $850.00 for a plate that I was told was $199.00. It's supposed to be used for 6 months and then they make you another denture which is to cost $600.00. There is no way for them to fit the denture they made for me. I asked for my money back that I had to put out before they even do the work, which was $874.50. They have done nothing but give me the run around. They said they have to call corporate headquarters and then they would get back to me. When we call they put us on hold and never answer the phone. In the meantime, I have had to go to another dentist and have made an appointment to have a decent denture made that I will actually be able to eat with and won't make me look like a football player, as it looks like I have a very large mouth-guard in my face. Be advised this is probably the worst place you can go to get dental services.

The new dentist I saw felt that this was one of the worst she ever saw.

I had put off going to the dentist for a while and when I saw the television commercial, I thought this is the place for me. I could not have been more wrong! I requested a top partial which meant pulling 5 of my existing teeth. In the process of the extractions, the dentist broke out a filling that had been in place over 15 yrs, and chipped my front tooth. The temporary partial did not fit. When I went back for adjustments, they told me to leave and come back in 30 minutes. Upon returning, the receptionist handed me the partial in a baggie of water! I went into the bathroom and it was worse than when I came. They attempted to adjust again without success. After 3 visits for fitting, one of the dental hygienists told me she hoped she didn't have to see me again! The comment was very adverse, not meaning she hoped they had fitted me correctly. So, my temporary partial has been sitting in water 4 months. I made an appt. for two fillings...one being the one knocked out by the dentist. Upon my arrival, they took me into the back and asked me what could they do for me today...really! I told them I had made an appointment for fillings on two teeth...one that the dentist needed to replace and to fix the chipped tooth that he caused by using the tooth as leverage for his extraction instrument. They told me it said I was there for a consultation...they do not have a clue what is going on! I am paying for a temp. partial that I cannot use, paying for fillings that they caused. I am due back this month for my permanent partial and I am telling them up front make NO back to back appointments after me as I am not leaving until the partial fits perfect. Aspen Dental is a SCAM! They bleed your insurance company for every dime they can get. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN CLEANINGS OR MINOR FILLINGS. THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF ORAL CARE IS VERY LIMITED WHEN IT COMES TO DENTURES AND PARTIALS.

I have sent a note to them, asking for a refund, they ignored that. I sent them another today listing the list of agencies I will engage in my effort to retaliate. I suggest you compain to the State Insurance Board for Fraud, The State Medical/Dental Ethics board for unprofessional conduct, the BBB (which is useless).
I have had great results with "Tom Martino - Troubleshooter" and the local TV action reporters. Now that I find this blog with more and more examples - we should start a class action suit in NY. Also contact the State Attorney General for misrepresentation. These folks are ripping off the working person.

All I can say is no1 I am upset with my husband for talking me into going there but I come from a family of lawyers and a judge... Trust me I will take no more abuse from them...because of them NEVER getting my bottom denture fitted right it has pushed the skin inside of my tooth, wich I kept because of their advise, completely down and now I have I sore the size of a pencil eraser... After they sent me to a peradontist he said it needed to be cut off and sent to OSU for a biopsy, he felt my lymph nodes and said he didn't like the looks of it... They refuse to do that...said they don't have that authority ... Then y send me there ... Then I received an automated call telling me that my appt is at the wrong time so when I called to verify they told me that they were busy and then when my appt is so I thanked her and told her to have a nice weekend and she hung up on me...like I was trash... Shame on them...out for justise Mollie Osborn.

April 21st 2012 I had my upper teeth removed and they inserted a healing plate (which after surgery the Dr said it was to big as I had more bone loss under my bridge than they anticipated. He said in a couple weeks he would take new impressions and make me a new healing plate ( However when they did impressions I asked if the lab would take in consideration the bridge I had and of course they would as their lab is wonderful).
Well after (6) weeks and no new healing plate that fits. I still cannot chew anything other than spaghettios and mush as the plate is too big my bite is incorrect. If I bite anything it flips out. I was in last week May 30th and the Dr said I had had (2) adjustments and anymore that he would charge me. Excuse me I have paid thousands of dollars up front and he wants to charge me to rig a plate that is too large. Now he says in (2) weeks he will put a hard liner in the plate that is too big what the heck good is this I still cannot eat or talk correctly and the adhesive works for diddly how mant times do I have to tell him it is too big this is Aspen Dentals fault and they will not remedy the situation and to threaten me I will have to pay more $$$$ this is what forced me to an attorney.. To add insult to injury he says what has it been(2) weeks no Doc it would be (6) weeks on June 2nd what the heck he can't even look at my chart.
They are really nice until they get your money yank out your teeth and leave you hanging. I have contacted an attorney and will turn him into the Dentist's Peer Review as this is no way to do business and now he says I will not get my permanent one until October how much more weight must I lose and embarassment to deal with (6) months worth?

These people are the worst. They charges me twice for a root canal that they started and could not finish. Left the tooth open and recommend that i go else where. I have been communicating with the managers from headquarter and still can not receive my refund. Aspen dental charged me a total of 1150.00 for a root canal that cost $631.00 as quoted on their invoice, added on extra treatment before bringing it it my attention. There is no words to describe this company, there just disgusting and running a business of scrams. If your reading this don't be a victim of Aspen dental, I am now dealing with the better business Bureau, this company needs to be strict guidelines.

I went in last year because I had a "flipper" and couldn't stand the goo taste anymore and wanted a fixed tooth.I wanted the stud with the tooth, and ended up with a bridge. Now, that means instead of replacing the one tooth, they ground down two more teeth and put in the bridge. Then they told me that I would need the forth tooth ground down and capped to look like the bridge. So, needed one tooth, and ended up with four teeth being bridged and capped.A price difference of 3, 000!The one tooth would have cost me appox.3, 000 however the work they ended up doing cost me almost 6, 000!And now, one of the teeth the bridged is infected and I need a root canal done! I really feel that they should right this for free.My family says I should go there and yell in front of the clients waiting to get work done. They did offer me a free evaluation today, but that doesn't mean they will fix it, or do the work for free, like they should...If they don't, I'll put something on FB to warn all my friends and family about this place!

I agree with billing for service that has not been done yet ! I've never heard of such crap! Would you pay for a surgery that
you didn't have done yet? Please! I'm very concerned with
the billing process -having little or nothing done and getting
billed for all the work! Its time to go higher and if I don't get some
answers in a couple of days I will

Aspen Dental Poor work!

My daughter just has two fillings (which we had to pay extra for- we did not want the black filling - they did white which did not match her tooth color. It looks like they poured white out into her tooth! They billed us for services that were supposed to be free... took long to get reimbursed. when you call customer services - you are on hold for ever THEN they tell you sorry for the delay and leave a message and a rep will call you back... so you press the number to leave a message and they disconnect you... I have never, never dealt with such a poor organization. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE!

I've been a patient for about 5 years now. 3 weeks ago I made an appointment for a loose front crown. The office is about 45 minutes from my home. The dentist on duty told me to wait 2 weeks to make sure there wouldn't be any problems with infection and then come back to it permantly put back in. I went yesterday and got a whole different story from another dentist. He said the tooth needs to be removed and a bridge made. Now mind you, it's my front tooth and my insurance won't cover the bridge until April. After having the crown put back in, it fell out again. You never see the same dentist, it's always a problem, they want big money when you have insurance etc. I had a partial made for the bottom of my mouth that I've never been able to wear. The dentist told me to brush some rough toothpaste on it to wear it down in the spot where it was rubbing. I've delt with enough bs from this company and I'm tired of it. I can only go to certain dentists due to insurance so is this the treatment I should receive when it's paid for every month? I need to find a new dentist or sue these so-called denists. Aspen is a company where you are taught to be a dentist, then you move on. It's a RACKET!

I would like to describe my experience with both Aspen Dental Fort Wayne, IN offices.

It began in September 2010, when I went in for a cleaning, and to have a sensitive tooth fixed. After the examination, I was told I had a major cavity in the top right area of my teeth, and that the sensitivity I was complaining about wasn't exactly a cavity, but was merely a deep abrasion. Additionally, I needed to have a dental 'abridement' because of alleged gum deterioration, in addition to a typical cleaning.

The problems began after my fillings. The 'sensitivity issue' actually turned out to be a rather problematic issue, as it became a deeper fix, and they kept drilling to get to the root of the problem. Basically, the small abrasion in the front became a cavity that needed extensive fixing - not at all the 'surface issue' they claimed it would be. But they drilled their holes, and patched them up and I went home.

The next morning, I began have excruciating pain in the areas of the fillings. I called the doctor and complained of serious pain, and was given vicodin to use before I was asked to come back in, about 5 days later. In the meantime, the ilocalized pain subsided, and only medium sensitivity remained in the filled teeth, but I still had a general throbbing in my mouth. When I did get back to the follow up, I was told that they needed to scrape a bit of the filling off, which they did, but this did nothing to help.

About three weeks later, I was still experiencing severe sensitivity, but did nothing about it, other than to try purchasing Sensodyne toothpaste which helped for about 5 minutes.

Again, my teeth sensitivity had started becoming more and more of a problem, so I began taking ibuprofen to ease the pain in my teeth. My ibuprofen use gradually became problematic to the point where I was taking 3200 mg worth per day, and just before Thanksgiving, I'd started waking up in the middle of the night to extreme pain, eat more ibuprofen, and go back to sleep.

After Thanksgiving (at which I wasn't able to eat hot or cold foods) I went back to the original dentist at Aspen, and told her of my story. After only about 2 minutes of inspection, she said that she didn't know what was wrong, and that I might have TMD, and that the only thing I could do was to get the fillings done again. (Amazingly, there isn't much left of the original tooth that they 'worked' on)

I decided my best bet was to try another Aspen Dental location - maybe one with a more experienced dentist; so I went to another office across town. They took an x-ray of the area, and could find nothing wrong, so I was told I would need root canals as the only recourse of action to eliminate the pain. I pointed out that before my fillings, I had nothing even remotely close to this kind of pain in my mouth, and I was told something to the extent of "Well, the drilling might have caused a trauma to the tooth, necessitating a root canal." In other words, the doctor that gave the fillings screwed up the nerves in your mouth, and we aren't responsible for it.

Even more odd, was that while looking at the x-rays, they told me the original dentist noted that she did a filling on the tooth that was causing pain, but in actuality, she really just filled in the front of the tooth - the area that was sensitive. The filling they claimed they put in was one I'd gotten in high school! When asked about my options, it was either pull the teeth out, or spend 1000 dollars each for the root canal, plus the cost of the Orthodontic Surgeon (another $1000). Also, I'd asked about taking so much ibuprofen (I have been up to about 4000 mg of ibuprofen per day for over a month) and he told me that 4 pills, 4 times a day is ok. Since when is taking 3200 mg of Ibuprofen a day for two months OK?

I know that directive was irresponsible - the human liver cannot repeatedly take such abuse without long term damage. Fortunately, I had my liver tested in early September, and have those results available. I know that a follow-up liver test will show damage corresponding such medication intake.

At this point, I really have no options. The pain in my teeth wakes me up in the middle of the night, every night, and I'm constantly popping pills to attempt to help alleviate the throbbing in my teeth.

And maybe the icing on the cake is that the treatment costs they quoted me, that included insurance payments, was just a front - I've since gotten bills saying I have to pay an additional $200+.

I will be talking to a lawyer this week about Fraud and Malpractice against both dentists, and will be filing with the Better Business Bureau, as well as the District Attorney's office. If anyone knows of a class action lawsuit, COUNT ME IN.

I am so upset with Aspen Dental and am not happy that the Better Business Bureau gives them an A+ rating. Why hasn't anyone complained to them or have we? I am in the process of starting a complaint and may be taking them to court, even if it's only civil court. There should be a lawsuit for poor work and shady business practices regarding billing! Oh and if you use Care Credit, well it does say you don't have to pay the bill while in dispute. We'll see how that goes, as that's my next letter!

Hi There...I found your web site very informative and helpful...As I too, am a victim of failed dental work which has/still causing me extensive treatments and surgeries because of this Dentist many mistakes. Other Dentist are shocked at the work he did and have commented it's nothing less than abuse.
I'm in the process of getting reimbursed for all the work needed to correct his mistakes and still need. I was told by this Dentist that they will reimburse me for all the work needed to correct everything. However, this was almost a year ago and I'm not so sure that it's as easy as that. I'm trying to find a sample letter to include with all my information supporting my claims (files and files). I've kept everything and have it ready to go. Now, I'm having trouble figuring out what to write as far as asking for the reimbursement. I'm at a stand still and not sure how to proceed. I am including a copy of the letter I sent to my ins co. which goes into great detail of the problems I've had and all the treatments, surgeries I've went through and still must go through.
I just now need to write a letter requesting the reimbursement and what ever is needed. I'm hoping you can steer me in the right direction, as to what I should write. Or even a sample letter would be great.
I've worked very hard at getting all the info and everything together to send but can't go any further until I get this other letter done. I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks so much and have a fantastic day!
Sincerely,
Tammy* Hazen

I actually just googled 'Aspen Dental Lawsuit' out of curiousity because I have had the worst dental experience there. And you can definitely count me in on a lawsuit. I had a tooth break at the root and went there just because my dentist was closed on the weekend. Worst idea ever! I have spent the last 2-3 years having them put bridges on and have them fall out within months. When it was all said and done I am now missing my 4 front teeth! I am young and have perfect teeth, minus the butcher job they did. I have a bridge in now that looks nice, but they cemented it about 2 months ago...and like every time before I can move it.

The first bridge was loose for a while and I didn't know what it should feel like. I finally went to have it looked at, at another Aspen Dental location and the dentist said the bridge was horrible work and that the gap had damaged the exposed tooth. But he advised he did not want to touch it and I need to go back to the other location because I guess they bill seperately and did not want to fix the other dentists work. So basicly, " he did a horrible job, but go back to him, because we don't want to take the loss fixing it". Thanks!

I went back to the original dentist over and over again. Lost a crown he put in about a week before my wedding and lost an entire temporary bridge the actual day I was leaving for our honeymoon. I called and could barely talk without my teeth, had my bags all packed and was ready to go and they said, " can you come in tomorrow?"

The dentist did a bunch of work for free after the initial amount which was maybe like 5, 000.00. But still after paying 5, 000 I do not have secure front teeth! So that's not much of a bargain if you ask me. Since my front teeth were ruined I have basicly ghetto Aspen Dental Implants. They're two metal studs with a bridge. They dont screw on and feel secure like real implants. The only reason he did them was because he broke the last tooth 'stub' standing after he pulled off one of his crappy ill fitting bridges. If you can imaging cementing something on your front teeth. Leaving them there for 2 months, until one side starts to wiggle loose and then it gets pryed off and done all over again for a few years. There's no way teeth are going to survive that.

At any rate, I am STILL paying of my credit card bills from the butcher job and am trying to locate a REAL dentist because this 2 month old bridge is ready to fall out again!

I had them actually offer me a job as I was there all the time anyway and I actually considered it because the pay was much more than what I make, but when I had the regional manager interview me and tell me in a nutshell that they basicly look at people and try to judge whether the person can afford a "the works", I couldn't do it. I knew what she was implying, and that's why she also said that they don't like to hire customers. I guess I got 'the works'.

I have to admit. I have visited 4 Aspen Dental offices. The one in West Warwick, Rhode Island was competent and I was satisfied. However, I switched to the Waterford, Ct dentist office because it was closer to my home and... it was a nightmare.

First, the office staff does NOT know what they are talking about when it comes to the billing, nor to how insurances work. I tried to complain to the main office... they said she was competent at her job. However, they fixed her errors because they knew I was right.

I then had suffered from one dentist who was putting in a temp. crown until the permanent one were to come in, and first he tried to numb the opposite side of my mouth.. actually did, then could not understand my state of panic that the crown placement was on the opposite side of my face.

This same dentist also left a gap between the temp. crown and my gum...which caused me severe pain for two weeks. I went back prior to my permanent crown coming in because I could not stand the pain any longer. They fixed it. When the permanent crown was placed... I have had sensitivity since them and that was 2 years ago.

The Waterford, Ct office also hurt my 13yo daughter. I think that they exaggerated her problems. They said a back tooth needed a crown because the filling was too deep and needed both a root canal and then a crown. I had deep fillings in the past WITHOUT the necessity of root canal nor a crown and these fillings lasted many years. Up to 15 to 20 years some of them.

Yet, they chose to drill it out to the point she had to have a root canal and temp. filling.

I then took her to the Framingham Massachusetts Aspen Dental to see the endodontist for the root canal. (Waterford CT has no on-call endodontist) I have to admit, he was great. However, things for my daughter went downhill from there. They filled the tooth after the root canal. IN two weeks time... her tooth broke and the METAL filling came out. They refilled it with the white composite filling and there has been NO further problem... but, the dentist should have known to use the white composite on a filling that large. The other dentist there said that the dentist that did it used the wrong material.

Convinced the second dentist was competent, I let them do other work that needed to be done... HOWEVER, I am now convinced MUCH of the work done was NOT necessary. I am also convinced that some of the fillings were manufactured for more money.

I used Unicorn financial and they too charged the fees to be done prior to the work being done. They charged a set amount and DID NOT show a regular tabulation of the account.

I mentioned this many times to the front desk girl, who did not comprehend English in the light she needed to, to print out the info I needed.

To make matters worse a crucial filling fell out today... more of their work and it was also a cosmetic issue, so it was an emergency. So, we had to call the Framingham, Ma office and they said they could not get us in today. But, they could get us an appointment at the Worchester, Ma office. We took the appt because it is closer to our home and it worked out.

This dentist was efficient and she did good work and quick work. I had NO problems with the billing people or the office staff. Maybe this Aspen office will be the one I can trust.

I liked the Framingham staff and had NO problems with the staff. However, I am now wondering what they did to my daughter.

I would like to be in on the class action lawsuit. I feel that the billing process is screwed up. I used to work for medical billing and it is similar. A lot of shady practice went on when I used Unicorn and they were able to charge all those fees and did not/would not provide consistent and complete documents showing what fees were taken out when and so on.

I also wonder if my daughter had things done to her dental health that should not have been done!

Add me to the first class action suit against Aspen Dental. I got a quote for 3948.00 discounted to 2477.00 then covered by care credit 1471.00. When I looked at my statements from Delta dental to see what they were actually billing for I found out they were billing for a partial plate that was supposed to be covered in the 1471.00. I called and the salesperson says right, we are going to need MORE MONEY! I told her to take off the deep cleanings that she charged for and never even explained to me. She said there would be enough to cover the partial with that cancelled. I also received horrific care there too. The x-ray lady kept demanding , not asking, for me to move. The female doctor was all bizness. She did two fillings. One left me with a chipped tooth. She said nothing about it. I got home and felt it with my tongue. Then she did two extractions. I have had several extractions and these were the most painful I have ever felt. In pain for more than a week. I could not even wear the temporary denture they made. I next got a root canal and cap. That was done well by another Dr who filled in for the female dentist. The crown comes in and they put it in. The partial plate that I wear does not fit over the crown so the dentist wants to cut off the wires that hold my upper plate in place. I say whoa. Then I let her grind down some of the metal clips on these partial teeth. Now they do not fit over the crown so I have to use poli-grip on my upper and lower partial dentures. They said I would get a lower plate In January 2008. I am disgusted to the max. Aspen Dental Fraud / customer cheating!

For those thinking about this office... read this first. This company is only interested in the bottom line. They are not interested in long term patient care or anything resembling competent or quality customer service.

I went to Aspen Dental to have several issues addressed. I had one crown that was loose and needing replacing. At my first appointment the dentist recommended several thousands of dollars of work (apparently all my crowns were "old"). I had insurance which would cover some of the cost. I decided to do the recommended work. The office repeatedly misfiled the claims leading to much confusion over my portion of the bills. It seemed every time I had a problem I was advised to "call the central office" who in turn told me "call the local office". I did this runaround several times.

After a summer of costly procedures on my crowns (several of the crowns they ordered did not fit, and I had to see them several times to get the correct fit), I was informed that I had developed periodontal disease and I would need treatments costing $1000 (not covered by insurance). In the whole time I was sitting in the dentist chair during all the previous procedures this was never addressed or mentioned to me. I decided this was pressing enough to address, but costly, so I put off putting in a denture. The denture work had been scheduled, but I canceled the appointment explaining that I did not have funds for both the periodontal procedure and the denture. I had been given a temporary denture that did not fit well and cut up my gums. When I canceled the permanent denture procedure the office did not inform me that there was any charge for the temporary denture.

I then got a bill for the entire permanent denture procedure that never happened! I called the office, got the usual "call the central office" runaround, and was in the process of trying to resolve it when I got a collections notice!

Throughout all of this, the front desk staff was rude, dismissive and self-important, the billing office confused and incompetent and the dentistry annoyingly average. The office even bumps calls from "existing patients" to a voicemail, while "new patients" always get immediate attention. Their computers seem to frequently be "down" so they cannot answer questions.

This is still not resolved, but as of now I am being told the bill I got was for the temporary denture. If it is accurate my insurance company and I paid more than $700 for a piece of plastic smaller than a retainer. I just went on online and found 5 similar complaints about the other office in Orange owned by the same dentist. What a disgrace!

went there and Knew it was a big mistake. I got up out of the chair just before my root canal began and left. They never refunded my money. They told me I needed $7500.00 worth of Dental work. I thank God, I walked out before they raped me.

I have had the same experience with this office in Hamden CT where the hygienist named Giovany told my entire family that we needed some fancy deep cleaning, even my 12 yr old daugher. When I asked if we could have just a regular cleaning, the office manager said, " NO..he would not do it because it would be unethical."
My regular dentist who was on vacation at that time, later told me that it was a just big scam that they tried, because none of us needed this fancy cleaning. Just for the info. each of this cleaning that they suggested was about $1400 vs $65 for the regular cleaning. Big time scam people, I am surprised that thay are still allowed to work. Stilling money from the sick and from the family with low income. Shame, DON'T GO THERE!

Dear Allie at Aspen Dental,

Thank you for your concern. I have to be frank, your comment was posted 179 days ago, and I have not heard from your patient satisfation team. I know that Aspen Dental Corporate has my current contact information. I would be thrilled to hear from them or you.

Just an update, the one bridge that was redone twice by the Hamden office has now been compromised. I have consulted another dentist who informs me that it must have been cemented improperly. He also informed me that his office has a five-year guarantee on bridges and crowns. I have contacted the Hamden office, who again referred me to Aspen Dental corporate. I have also called the corporate office and am awaiting a phone call from the regional manager.

I would also add that the "major periodontal disease" requiring a $1000 treatment was non-existent one year later when I visited a dentist in Manhattan.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I had a similar experience in the Farmington location. I was charged $190 without my knowledge, then when I called my insurance I was told that I was charged for work which should have been free. When I called the following day, I was told that I had signed a paperwork for the treatment I received, which I did not. They are a very unethical group and I wrote a complaint to their head office, which was said that it would be answered in two working days and was not. Weirdly enough when I started complaining at my job, the first two co-workers had horror stories of their own about Aspen Dental. because of my lack of research and not researching this dental office, I too fell victim of ASpen Dental.

I also had work done there...a couple fillings which have both fell out now (one of which I almost choked to death on!) and the tooth that they "fixed" also changed and became shrap cutting the inside of my mouth. Looking at all these comments I'm not even going to go back and see if they'll fix it!

What people need to realize, is that when you have dental insurance, the office that takes your plan has a 'deal' with the insurance company. It is called a, 'negotiated discount'.

That is the contract between the provider and the insurance company. Say, Aspen charges $200.00 for a cleaning...the negotiated discount with the insurance company is they will only cover $125.00, THEY CAN NOT BILL YOU FOR THE REST! IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO DO SO!

I've caught Aspen trying to bill me for the difference a few times, and always caught them on it.

I now have a 700.00 credit with them, because I over paid, and the rest of my denture work is already paid for...

Do NOT let them tell you otherwise, you can even check with your insurance company, they will tell you the same thing

Aspen Dental Unsatisfactory work

My mother went to aspen dental in orange Connecticut, she went in they gave her a price of 1200.00 and they agreed ok she ask for dentures ok all was well until she received her dentures and they were extremely to big for her mouth and what ever chemical they used on her dentures made her face swell up. So she called aspen dental and told them her problem and they brushed her. They told her there was nothing to be done, now she received her credit card statement and saw they charged her card 1700.00 and now she have dentures that look like horse teeth and they have a bad smell to them the dentures smell rotten. And think that is wrong for them to treat their new customers. I feel they should help and solve this problem by giving all that money back or fix the dentures and give some of the money back. Now i know this is a win win situation and i am not gonna sit back and let them scam my mother like this so someone needs to get back to me as soon as possible i will be forced to get the professionals involved. The patient name is mary johnson and if you need to get in touch with any one contact me her daughter amanda johnson at this e- mail address [protected]@comcast.net and i hope to hear from someone very soon. Thank you very much because aspen dental you made my day by scamming my mother.

I am dealing with Aspen dental now on 08/24/2023 went in to get a tooth extracted it had broken from a terrible root canal. It really did not need to be saved it was a lower molar right bottom side. I told the dentist all I needed was an extraction he fear mongered me about my jaw appearance and told me I needed bone grafting and I never said that’s what I wanted they just did it? But then he was unable to even extract the tooth correctly and left pieces of it under the graft and flippilanty said if you have any problems come back? What? He didn’t even have the skill to extract the tooth. He said to me while trying I’m gonna cause more harm than good at this point so I’m gonna stop. WTF I’m so mad! I’m 52 and have had little work

I sure wish my husband and I had read the reviews also. My husband previously had a set of dentures and they were accidentally broken. Therefore, I made him an appointment at Aspen dental because we had heard they do the care credit program and we did not have the money to pay upfront. The first visit went well, they did the wax molds etc.. signed him up for the 18 months interest free. The total amount was close to $2700.00. Needless to say they are very nice until they have your money then forget it, They are the biggest [censored] you ever want to meet. The receptionist with her 6 ft long eyelashes acts like she doesn't want to be there, My husband had an appointment for 8am on a Saturday morning, had the appointment card in hand. They say you are not in the computer so we will have to work you in(very rudely) after and hour and a half he gets seen, for them to tell him there is nothing wrong with his teeth, it is him . His teeth actually drop out of his mouth, they are too big, they are crooked. He has blisters on his gums, the bite is off. He is very dissatisfied with the teeth and the service from Aspen Dental in Griffin, Ga. Today he goes back to get an adjustment again because his bite is still off and he still has blisters in his mouth. Very rude staff again and Dr. Dawson proceeds to argue with my husband saying his mouth is crooked not his teeth. He attempts to explain to her that when he bites down his left side drops, she proceeds to say the exact opposite of what he is telling her. I assume she was tired of hearing him because she tells another staff member that he's done he can go.
So, Basically she dismisses my husband and his concerns about HIS mouth. As a professional that is very unorthodox. As a wife it PISSES me off, we pay good money for dental services and we should not be treated half [censored]. Now, As a Business you should rectify the situation, Have the dentist fix his teeth to where he is satisfied with them and we should receive a significant discount for this situation. If this is not handled within 24 hours I WILL contact an attorney as well as the Better Business Bureau. I look forward to your prompt reply.

I went to aspen dental for fillings. They took xrays. Aftrwards I was immediately put in a dental chair. The hygenst was right in the room . Before she looked at the xrays or my mouth she said I need a deep cleaning. She saivd that the dentest would not do any thing untill I have a deep cleaning for the price of 2500 dollars. I was then scheduled for spacing. The measures the spaces in my teeth .90 percent ware 3 or under. And as ayou get deep cleaning for pockets over3. Dr melanik came in and started probing my teeth with a sharp object he says cavity there and started probing the cavity. Afterwards when I was home I got Trigemanal neuragia. I begged for pain pills but he said take tylenol. The next appt. I again begged for pain pills. He appeared angry and threw my xray into my lap and said go to the hospital and get your tooth pulled.

I have been trying to get set of dentures that would fit for almost two years and I still have not been successful. Aspen Dental have tried to get the upper and lower dentures to fit but when the upper would fit the lower would be off and vice versa. I spoke to my attorney about it and she suggested that I give them another chance, I went back and Aspen Dental tried to make a tray for another impression and I am still experiencing the same problem. I have tried to get my money back but have not been successful. I left the first set with them and now I have a second set that's just sitting in my bathroom on the sink. When I last spoke with the manager, she told me that they had tried everything as well as I had done everything and the only thing she could suggest was plastic surgery; And I said no. I tried to call her back to see if we could began the steps to getting my money but the clerk stated that the manager was with another patient. I asked her to have the manager call me but that never happen, please help!

I had a pre-approved credit card from Aspen Dental in July 2007 when I first entered their office. The maximum was for $5500. After examination the total cost of all dental work would be about $8800. I also provided them with my dental insurance card. I signed an authorization which allowed Aspen to take the maximium of $5500 from my credit account as work was being done. After 3 visits, I really did not like the personnel there and canceled my future appointments / work. I received a bill from Apsen Dental via GE Bank and made a payment of $259.00. I then received a statement from my dental insurance that indicated the insurance had paid most for my initial appointments but a small amount was due from me. However, I kept receiving invoices from GE Bank for $259 payments. Apen Dental withdrew the entire $5500 credit max I had and placed it in their bank, having me pay the installments on work that was not going to be completed and Aspen billed my insurance for the same work! I have been threatened daily by phone calls from GE Bank as Aspen Dental refuses to return the money.

Aspen Dental Insurance fraud

I went to AspenDental, Woburn, MA for my routine cleaning for the first time on March 16, 2006. $47.80 was charged to my credit card for exam and x-rays and a treatment plan was laid out without any further discussion. I either walked away with what had paid and without teeth being cleaned or go along with their plan.

I didn't want to waste the $47.80 payment so I went the second time for teeth cleaning. On the first visit I told them I had two dental insurances, Cigna and Delta so patient's portion should be much less. They pretended they acknowledged that however they demanded the full payment and told me I'd get reimbursed once they received payments form both insurance companies.

Over half year treatments, I kept on paying the fees and never received a penny for reimbursement so I stopped going and started calling. It's been more than a year, with numerous phone calls and hours of waiting and conversion I got a bill for $132.40 instead. This morning I called again they said they made a mistake and would take a look later when they had a chance.

The total treatment charged by AspenDental was $471, insurance allowed amount was $341.60. I don't know what Cign , my primary dental insurance company had paid. However what I had paid, $167, and Delta, my secondary dental insurance had paid $311.60 had exceeded the insurance total allowed amount $341.60. In other words, AspenDental committed insurance fraud. Other than post the info here I am to write a complain letter to my DA office, and will cc AspenDental, Cigna and Dental.

Called Aspen Dental for my daughter-in-law today. She provided them with my insurance card. She called 3 times to see where the claim was because she kept receiving a bill from them, and they said they submitted the claim to her Insurance, 3 times. She finally paid out of pocket to get them off her back. I called my insurance company today and was told that a payment was made to Aspen Dental on Nov 30, 2012. I called and spoke with Will the (Extremely RUDE and UNKNOWLEDGEABLE office manager). He stated that they had never submitted the claim to her insurance, but would submit today. (later in the conversation he stated maybe they did sumbit something but he wasn't there at the time, and they go through a lot of staff so its hard to follow up) I can see why people don't stay there with rude, arrogant people like WIll. I asked him to call her insurance company, because they stated that they had sent Aspen Dental a check back in November 30th. His comment is "We don't call insurance companies. It's not our job!" WHAT? This looks like Insurance Fraud to me. Just confirmed that they were paid and check was cashed by Aspen. Getting paid by and Insurance company and then harassing the client to pay and now they have full payment from both (double dipping, which is not legal). Next step complaint to Insurance Commissioner to report FRAUD.

My previous dentures were a good fit; however they were about 20 years old and 2 teeth had broken off and I was tired of super gluing them back in. So, I went to aspen Dental. The new teeth cause me to bite my inner mouth flesh, don't lineup top and bottom and suction is not as good as my previous dentures. I also had to wait an hour for them to bring in my new dentures the day I was to pick them up. It would have been longer if I had not gone back out to the receptionist and complained. The doctor had to leave a patient to come address my issues. I would think twice about going back to Aspen.

Went to have old dentures replaced with new set. Upper set was fitted well but the lower set forget about it. I went back and forth for over three months and at the last visit the Dentist said that they don't have control over the technicians that make up the dentures. Poor excuse for not being able to get a good fitting dentures. I have been wearing dentures for 45 years and this place was like going to a fast food place. The dentist tried to talk me not getting inserts into my lower jaw but I declined. I am still waiting for a refund on my lower set because they would not take another impression. I think they should be investigated.

I feel that Iwas scammed by aspen dental. They signed me up with a health card and charged over $2, 000.00 on this card on my first visit. Has been over 6 months and I still do not have dentures. I was their at aspen dental over 4 weeks ago and the dentures I tryed on did not fit my mouth. Aspen dental had taken three impression of my mouth and these dentures I tryed on were way off did not fit my mouth. I need my money back. I am still paying for these dentures through this credit card they had set up to get their money at one lump sum on my first visit.

Aspen Dental Consumer beware!

I went to Aspen Dental looking for an extra set of upper dentures. The main reason why I went there. The dentist told me that on my lower teeth I would need 2 teeth pulled. All of a sudden they were just doing work on my lower teeth. I did not mind the Dental Hygienist doing her job, however she could not do the complete procedure & recommended I go to a Periodontist. I went to the Periodontist who then told me I do not need those teeth extracted that he can perform gum surgery on it. What upsets me the most I applied for the CareCredit and was approved, BUT Aspen Dental submitted charges to the CareCredit for services that were not rendered. For instance the extractions. They also knew of my appointment & at the request of the Periodontist asked for the xrays to be sent to him so I would not have to be xrayed again. Aspen Dental had never sent those xrays to the Periodontist, so needless to say I had to get more xrays done on the teeth they were going to extract.

1. They charge CareCredit in advance for work before it is done. In other words they charge for services not rendered.
a) pay for an electric toothbrush by just giving it to you as part of the visit & not asking if you would like to purchase the item. $125.00 for that. I have an electric toothbrush I am very happy with. So this company sells a bunch of goods without consent of the patient (me).
b) An extraction $229.00.
c) Incomplete work from the Dental Hygenist because she told she couldn't do the deep cleaning because of my gum infection & recommended the Periodontist. Hygenist charges were $376.00 which should be less because she could not complete & suggested I see a periodontist.
2. They didn't send the xrays to the periodontists, therefore made me have to go for more unnecessary treatment.
3. Kept me in a dental chair for over an hour without acknowledgment.

I was not happy with the way I was treated as a human being. Aspen Dental seemed more corporate instead of a dental health facility. It seems to me it is a money making scam to charge for services before the services were even done.

I am working on to get credit from Aspen to the CareCredit for only services rendered & not to pay for the toothbrush that I did not ask for, especially I have an electric toothbrush that I am happy with.

They are very misleading. BUYER BEWARE! CONSUMER BEWARE!

Thank you,
Rita.

I made appointment and was told they take my insurance. They went through the entire x-ray process before coming in to tell me that actually they don't take it.
I'm sure the point was thinking I would just go ahead with it. Now I'll have to get a whole another set of X-rays somewhere else. Not acceptable.

Apparently it's true, EVERYONE has periodontal disease and needs a deep cleaning. I had hoped that after all these years of terrible reviews they would have changed their procedures. They have not, I was REFUSED for a cleaning unless I paid $1000 for deep cleaning, and the price started at $1,500 in miraculously dropped to around 500 out of pocket. My insurance pays for one cleaning a year but not here it doesn't.
BEWARE. I will not contribute to a business with these practices.
