I too was one of the many who fell for the "offer" from airtel. I did not think twice to create an account as Airtel is a BIG brand in India...
I tried creating an account and the first few times I tried, it gave me an error saying "failed to verify details"... and then at last it allowed me to create the account...
Yesterday, I was just checking my account - and I was charged $125 instead of $25... I had previously tried 4 times - which were rejected - and I was charged $25 for all those tries!!!!
I tried calling the customer service no - and the number I guess does not exist.. I tried sending a mail to customercare@airtel.in - and it bounced back!!!
This is most certainly the worst of websites - and it is too damn slow... The Reliance website is a hell lot better in terms of usage atleast....
Not too sure on what my action would be... I have started telling EVERY ONE I know on my experience - so that they do not fall into the same trap...
I am not too sure now if this is actually owned by AIRTEL - but I was charged by Bharati TEle - which is the holding company of Airtel..
