Remedy worse than a disease

I had switched from other mobile service to Airtel (Mobile # 9876045453) with view that Airtel is doing well in other states and it will be doing good in Punjab as well but it will not be incongruous to mention that it is the worst among all.

Please find enclosed the below mentioned facts proving the above mentioned fact.

1. I have got a connection, which is not accessible from landline phone from my native place (Ahmedgarh STD code 01675) so my parents, friends etc. are unable to reach me. (Utter failure in providing basic service).
2. SMS service (both local as well as National) is not working. I am unable to receive SMS from any service provider including Airtel (only received messages from Airtel customer care like activation of service etc.) but able to send SMS to Airtel number only.
3. All the outgoing SMS have been charged though it is not delivered. I was told by customer care that all undelivered SMS would not be chargeable.
4. Requested for GPRS connection under corporate plan on 18th Feb'05 and was not activated till 24th Feb'05 and on 23rd Feb'05 I was informed by Airtel customer care that I can't get GPRS connection under corporate plan committed by Airtel and on 24th Feb'05 I received SMS that GPRS connection under corporate plan has been activated. I have lost so much due to all this, which I cannot explain in this letter.
5. In my bill for this connection, I have been charged for GPRS connection as per normal plan i.e. Rs 600/- per month although I have received SMS that my plan charges are Rs. 99/- per month for first six months, Rs. 300/- for next three months and Rs. 600/- onwards. I had also confirmed my bill plan for GPRS connection after receiving SMS from AIRTEL and I was confirmed that it is same as mentioned in SMS.
6. My request for activation for roaming has been taken while stating that there is no roaming rental under this category (Corporate Self Paid plan) and during confirmation call for activation of roaming I was informed other way round.
7. Registered on www.airtelworld.com for e-billing and prompted a message that password had been sent by SMS on the mobile number but couldn't receive the password due to issue mentioned in point 2.
8. I had been informed that GPRS connection can be activated by sending SMS request 'GPRSCORP' at 700 (toll free number) which is free of charge. On the contrary I have been charged for this SMS as well.

I got different answer for same query from different representatives in Airtel customer service (121 service) and it indicates that Airtel doesn't have any process in place to look after their customers and only untrained people are handling customers and tell whatever comes in their mind. I was applaud to listen the suggestion from one of the executives attending my call that 'Get the roaming activated and I will come to know whether there is any rental or not' in my next bill. So experimentation on its customer is part of Airtel customer service process.

It hurts when one has to pay for services for which he is deprived of. Under such circumstances, I would prefer to discontinue with the service if Airtel is unable to provide tolerable level of service being a service industry.

Moreover Airtel customer care is hesitant to write customer complaint and providing the complaint number. On insisting to provide complaint number I was told that it is a general complaint fro other customers as well so we can write a complaint in this regard and it will be resolved within 24 hours.

I will appreciate the consistency maintained by Airtel customer care executives attending the call while answering any problems with the pet answer.

NEW SERIES PROBLEM, WILL BE RESOLVED IN 24 HOURS.

This 24 hour commitment is never fulfilled practically and I don't understand why do Airtel representative feel shame in telling the truth while attending customer call. Did customer do any crime that he should be victimized for this new series problem?

My brother is holding AIRTEL connection in Delhi region and he appreciates about the service level there so it is strange why same company is unable to maintain the standards in Punjab.

There is more to mention but I think it is sufficient to convey message to management about the service level of AIRTEL in Punjab region.

In Nutshell, I feel like that I have done blunder by switching to Airtel and don't hesitate to commit for services while issuing selling new connection which they are unable to provide at all in committed time frame and force customer to chase them. At the same time Airtel makes sure that customer is charged for above mentioned services.

I have purchased three Bharti Airtel International Calling cards ( Australia) for 500/- each.

After coming to Australia I found that they are far more expensive than the International calling cards locally available in Australia.

Now I would like to know if the unused cards can be refunded to Bhart Airtel,

I subscribed for mo ( mobile office ) through sms. So i can access to internet. Replied the settings will be sent in few minutes. I waited there is no response. I called 121 customer service for about 4 times asking for setting i didn't find the answer. I have qtek 9100 pda phone is there setting for this phone or not. I have lost rs 100 by activating but there is no advantage or response.

Yes, the remedy is more than the disease!!!

If you are a customer of air tel, you are going to lose your life span atleast by 5-10 years in fighting to their deaf ears.

They are a simple cheaters by profession, and nothing else to say.

I too struggling a lot in various ways only because the number i can not loose!!!

Airtel is CRAP service now... They have many customers and which are switching to some other services... I had a land line and Broadband connection from Airtel and it has been dead for past 3 weeks... no one responds... and uter crap service they provide... even the Vice president said he cannot do anything...

Uter crap... don't take any connections from Airtel, even the the mobiles are degrading in services...

On 6 july 2007 i took mo gprs card of airtel and recharged with my new no.9936803659 but till now it had not worked at all. I have created a dial up connection; its showing the connection but its not opening site at all. I have spent about 6 to 8 hours talking to customer care executives but till now they have not been able to resolve the problem.

Today i have to go through a disgusting answer that we can t do anything except forwarding the complaint to higher authorities. When i asked where should i go now to resolve my problem, they said that we cant help u any more. They also said that if u like u can throw your gprs card and deny our service. I am not in a condition to understand to what to do now???

I have been using airtel service now since 6 months now, but I have never seen SUCH A POOR & bad service till now. Its as simple as that I have been trying to calling AIRTEL office with all their nos. 40038816,18,25,26,40 etc. No one seems to be interested in receiving the calls once they know call is coming from my office nos. This is terrible INDEED.

There are many instances where the customer care executive would speak (If he picks up by mistake) and commit, but overall, it has been frustrating experience with AIRTEL till now. I made a grave blunder migrating from BSNL to AIRTEL hearing the impressive presentation of their marketing staffs.

It appears lot of problems persists with monthly billing. Every month I get the bill of around Rs.5000 and I end up calling their office and then they give discount. This is going on and on for months now. I sometime even think of throwing the set out of Window. So much frustration.
Is there any one listening and ready to improve the service? With this kind of service, I do not think I will continue AIRTEL Service. PATHETIC INDEED.

i m using the airtel connection from last 3 years, i had lost my mobile in september 2007. so, i contacted the customer care to know the details for getting the same number , they said to book complaint on that sim and take acknowledge ment from the police station . but i gave the acknowledge ment to customer care on the same day but that blody fuckers said this series sim cards have no stock . from september to till now they are telling the same reason. i asked to give the head office number i dint got . i m not getting the words to scold that airtel owner.

we had taken a broadband connection on the no. 40060723. Unfortunately, we opted for another 2nd connection through Airtel . Their sales person Mr.Avik Banerjee comes, fills up some shit of form and vanishes. After the daily follow up of continuous 10days to their customer service, till date the matter is not resolved. Airtel does not needs business. Customers are not at all being catered to. Please do not opt for Airtel.

Have you ever been asked whether your office is made of brick or granite???? oh yeah... a new new high in customer service from Airtel.

My self Anil Narkhede. It has been a long time almost 10 days, I had applied for post paid connection by a scheme valid for crompton greaves employees. Executive of Nashik's Mumbai Naka office (Shop No3,Suyojit city centre,opp. Mahamarg,Mumbai Naka, Nasik)provided a SIM card, but it is not working(9970431968). I visited the office for 3 times and also made calls on various mobiles, but they are less bothered. The nos. are 9890649103(archana), 9890748737(Yogesh), 9975086060 .Such type of irregularities are not expected in a reputed organisation like yours.

SIR I HAVE SUBSCRIBED MOBILE OFFICE CARD AND AFTER 12 DAYS OF ACTIVATED MY SERVICES ARE BARED DUE TO IMPROPER SUBMISSION OF MY DOCUMENTS.

sir, i m dealer of air tel in punjab hoshiarpur. ur distributuor probides me the comision on recahrge paer card is 2% i contact ur distributor and a.s.m . he says we giv eonl2%on paper card. but another comoany like spice vodaphone give us 2.75%. and i m woried to see some sales man comes from ludhiana and provide comision 4%. sir i m regular give good sale per month to airtel. sir i wana to know can u give us comision 4% if i buy recharge from u in good quantity. so reply i m wating ur response

Airtel service is certainly the worst. I shifted to a new office in Andheri(E) in the month of december 2007 & to my surprise there was absolutely no network. I have complained at their customer care no.121 at least a hundred times but the problem persists even today(25/04/2008)
The guys at airtel never bother. I am waiting for the govt. to implement no. portability as soon as possible so that I can switch the service provider while retaining my telephone no. There are atleast 12 people who are my co-workers willing to do the same.
