I have never activated the regional roaming on my mobile but i have been charged for the regional roaming service when i contacted the customer care service they have told that the regional roaming service is activated since may2004 and when i complained on 15-feb-2007 they told me that it has been deactivated on 05-jan-2007 but i have not even told them to deactivate. How can a service be activated and deactivated without the confirmation from the subscriber. I don't know how this problem has been arised and customer care is not giving me any information about this.

I had been with airtel since last 2 yr. But since last 3-4 month I found the service is neither good nor their billing is correct. I was having airtel postpaid connection with number (9989932921) 3 month back. While taking the connection the I had asked to the airtel representative for corporate connection as well as one-india plan. he promised me first I have to activate CUG 249 plan then once I will send an sms regarding one india plan it will be activate. after that many time I was spoke with airtel customer care persons. But each time they gave me wrong information for activating my one-india plan. After 3 days I received an sms that my STD plan is activated. but after 2 days while I inquired I found one-india plan is not activated. While I was asking about this again to the customer care they told me STD plan and one -india plan was different. After 25th day they disconnect my call and told me to pay the whole amount which i had not made for call. Now after 2 month I received one bill statement where its mention last day of payment is 24th of feb. For each conversation I think there must be some system to record the conversation between customer and representative. If I found wrong then I will pay the double of the amount, other wise I will not pay a single penny. My parents told me to go for consumer court.

The last month bill due date which is 20th Jan, original bill got delayed. On 5th Feb I requested the cust executive to sent the duplicate bill. It didn't reached, then i requested again. The bill reached near to 20th Feb. I couldn't made the payment that time, as i was officially on some project. Airtel barred my services. I called up Ashwini (Team Lead), that first of all i have received the duplicate bill very late, and i am busy right now, just do not bar my services. Again it got barred. And at the last yesterday one executive came at my residence C 23 West Model Town Gzb, saying that he is from Airtel and asked for the check of Rs3500/- from ladies at my home. How can a person from Airtel can come at my residence without any information to me. Has anyone tried to contact me in any of the way. If someone is coming he should notify me by any source and fix a meeting. If the no is in my name, so without any call to the notifier how can airtel ask for payment from anyone at my home. Is the way now airtel is asking for the payments from their clients. I am afraid that being a consistent and good customer of airtel i come to know that airtel can go for any such stupid and wrong way of asking the payment from the customer. Private companies do not work like this. the executive who has asked for check even has not given any receipt for check of 3500/-. If any ways airtel has to ask for the payment and it had got delayed, they need to find out first before sending a executive that what has gone wrong, why the payment had got delayed. If any case it had got delayed, cant they wait for some time so that first they can communicate with me and then they send someone. If now you changed your good services, then let us also know, i will myself cutoff my no from Airtel.

An explanation is expected, why this has happened, all has been updated to the shift manager of airtel (Aditya). Find out the name of the person who sent the executive without notifying me. Do not put the check which executive has taken from my residence yesterday. First let me know what has gone wrong, then i will make the payment in this due date only.

I have been trying to resolve my billing issue which is ongoing for couple of weeks. I have always paid my bills well in time whatever the amount, thereby trusting airtel blindly. The recent experience is , i have been using AirTel -Value added service -- GPRS from one month, this month i am billed heavily on WAP download charges, the bills states that the download had happened every 3/7 seconds. To download any stuff from Airtel Live wap site it takes more than 30-40 seconds, i have been charged repeatedly for every 3-6 seconds for the same content. I have been calling up the customer care to resolve the issue since 2 weeks and they have failed to resolve the issue and today is the last day to pay my bill.

Sub:-Harassment to the AIRTEL Subscriber by sending bogus Bills.

Long back, I obtained postpaid Airtel connection Number 9815580088 of Punjab Circle.About 3-4 months back, I surrendered this Number. To surrender this number,I send a written request to your office/associates, Sec-35, Chandigarh through my son. They refused to accept the application on the plea that subscriber should personally come. Then I send a SMS, inform the Customer Care Services and also send my request for surrender of connection by post. Two young persons claiming to be employees of Airtel visited my residence to inquire about the reason for surrendering the connection, but in spite of all these I am receiving a bogus bill from Airtel till date. It is nothing, but shear harassment to me.

I have come to know that this is common practice of the Airtel not to disconnect the Number with the intention to inflate the figure of subscribers. It is nothing but cheating on their part. Recently I have received bill for the month of Feb 2007, which clearly shows that Number is not being used. Be careful with Airtel bills!

I am one of Airtel's most harassed & dissatisfied customer regarding my landline number 0120.4317863. I also have a DSL connection.

Briefly the case is as under:

1. In spite of my writing to Airtel on 22 Dec 06 (on receipt of their first inflated bill), and continued complaining for the last three months, Airtel did not take any action and the cross connections/inflated bills continued. A few of Airtel's reference numbers :5357771, 5367802,6934214, 6933930, 6871006, & 7149802.

2. I had informed Airtel that calls to mobile (local) to 9871375104 &
9868056108 were not made by us. That the first number belonged to a driver named 'Md Akhil Khan, pet name Rohit' and the second number belonged to 'Pradip Kumar & Satish Kumar'. That we do not know them & they do not know us. Airtel had also called them up & verified this.

3. I informed Airtel that:
i) on 12 Dec 06, 21 calls were made to these two numbers, some calls lasted for 16, 50, 54, 24 & 27 minutes.
ii) on 20 Dec 06, 13 calls were made to these numbers each lasting many minutes & one call lasted 56 minutes.
iii) on 27 Dec 06, 45 calls were made to these numbers, some calls lasted 25, 24, 30, 47, 27, & 23 minutes.
iv) on other days also calls lasted a long time.
v) these two numbers may have called back, but we may have said 'wrong number'.
vi) calls to these numbers had not been made from our flat.
vii) There may be other cross connections, we have not checked all numbers.

3. Airtel sent three of their engineers, from time to time, who visited our flat, checked the lines and confirmed that there was some mixing/cross connections in Airtel's exchange. They also said that they had rung up these two numbers and confirmed our findings.

4. Airtel's officers, in their email, said they were sorry and conveyed sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to us.

5. Inspite of all this Airtel disconnected our lines three times, that too without any notice!

6. As late as 28 Dec 07, Airtel's Lokesh after consulting his boss, assured me that a revised bill is being sent, that I need not pay the old bills and that the line will not be disconnected. Yet the line was disconnected on 6 March 07!!
When I rang Lokesh on 7 March 07, he said the line will be connected within 10 minutes!

7. Sorry to say the line remains dead.
Pressurising me to pay inflated bills does not become a company of Airtel's standing & repute.

8. Sorry, Airtel can not make me pay for calls not made from our house.

9. As per my calculations, calls to these two numbers from 16 Nov 06 to 15 Jan 07 and from 17 Jan 07 to 15 Feb 07 , comes to Rs 4808.94 (including tax). To this add calls made to these numbers on 16 Jan 07.

10. I have again requested Airtel to send me a revised bill after deducting the above amount and I hope Airtel will also discount the rent for the period the line has been disconnected by them during the last three months.

11. I have also requested Airtel to connect my line, send a revised bill asap, change my pair, give me a new number to avoid cross-connections...

Do you think I hope for an early considered response from Airtel?

I am a subscriber of Airtel mobile since May'06. Everything was going on the way till i sent a request for the activation of Friends N Family for an ISD number on 15th of Feb'07 according to which all my ISD calls was to charged for Rs 4.5/min instead of Rs 7.20/min for that particular number by paying a monthly rental of Rs 30/month. I was confirmed on 18th that my FNF has been activated on 17th Feb only. I then started making calls and talked freely on that number. I was shocked to see my bill on 8th of March for the billing period 5th Feb-4th March in which the monthly rental was charged but no discounts were made. All the ISD calls was charged at Rs 7.20/min. I then called the customer care and fired a complain and was assured that i'll receive a call from their side. But till 2day, i did not get any call from Airtel inspite of reminding several times. Also, I had changed my BILL PLAN. They charged me an advance rent of one month but did not gave discount which they took as an advance rental of the previous BILL PLAN. Can anyone do the needful?

I am a professional engineer and i will not like to change my no. At all up to possible due to business relations. But airtel is increasing its charges day by day. I've recharged 2 years validity pack of 2006 rupees, i used to recharge one top up of 45 rupees that gives me the 2500 sms and my call rates were reduced to 50 paise, 1 rupee (else was 1,2 rupee). Then they increased it to 50 rupees, then to 51, after so many increments now it is of 79 rupees in which 0.05 paise per sms is being charged to me. If we calculate only sms are being charged of 125 rupees + 79 pack =204 that they used to give for free. Those schemes were just to trap.

Sub: Poor customer services and frequent billing errors

I was with airtel since the last two years hence recently i was facing billing errors on my bills, where the STD was active and a value added services known as STD pack was active without my knowledge, even though there was no charge with regards to the use of STD on my bill. I contacted customer service in mumbai and even spoke to manager name as deepak verma to deactivate the STD and the STD pack, but the issue was not resolved, therefore I had to cancel the contract, for which i spoke to cancellation dept and spoke to priyanka, she confirmed the acct will be cancelled but it remained active, after a month i got another bill, then i spoke to another manager name vaishali, to close the acct which she finally closed the acct, but to my surprise i was still being billed for sms charges, and i am still getting bills for the same . My problem still not resolved as i am still charged for the services I am not using since the last three months. I hope by submitting the my complain the management of airtel would realize the poor customer service is provided to its customer and act promptly to resolve my concern.

I took a Airtel corporate connection through my office. They told they'll give 600 mins free for all other mobiles, when I saw my bill, it was out of range. When I went to contact Airtel outlet they told 300 mins for Airtel to Airtel and other 300 mins for Airtel to other mobiles. This is ridiculous. One more thing is Bill date. I've activated ECS facility, so my due date would be 6th of every month. I told I'll pay by cash instead of ECS, so they told, you can pay by cash as well, but if you do not pay by cash with in the due date, we'll charge you through ECS, so I agreed for that. So when I went to pay by cash on 1st or 2nd of every month they told your bill has been paid through ECS by 28th of every month. This is one pathetic. After few days (After due date), they called me and they told ECS has been declined, so you can pay by cash with the fine 200. So I've cancelled my connection. So Beware of Airtel and stay away with Airtel, now I'm using Spice, I'm quite happy with the billing and call charges are quite reasonable. I'm paying my bill regularly without any delay.

Last month I had used GPRS Mobile Office plan 599 in AIRTEL. As per plan they are told, with this plan you can spend 599 rupees and use 1GB free usage, any thing more than that will be charged Rs. 10 paise per 30 KB and also you can activate & deactivate at any time with the help of sending message to 345. (This can be check with dial 12118)

But they are violating the rules in billing and additionally they are charged 409.40 rupees, So I called & Discussed around 45 Min with the customer care center for help on 28-05-2007 at 4.00PM . They told our billing is correct but I didn’t accept the concept. Immediately I send one mail to customer care center with details.

Next day I received one call from AIRTEL customer care center they told me, you are activated MO Free rental plan for few days. In that plan browsing is not free. But I never send any message regarding MO free rental plan for last month. With out my request they are activated MO Free rental plan and charged me.

Then I send one more mail to customer care center, after they are waived Rs 221.57 & disconnected my service as per my request.

Problems with AIRTEL

1. Total usage counted in my Mobile data count in Sony W700i is 215 MB but they are charged in bill 260.665 MB
2. If you can take 260.665 MB, amount reflected will be (260665 KB/30KB) X 0.1 = 868.88 Rupees but they are charged in bill this should be discount in my account because I used only 260.665MB (pl refer Para 1)
3. I asked the customer care center for resolving the issue then disconnect my service. But they are disconnected my service very urgently with out solving the issues.
4. I requested the customer care center for activating MO599 Plan but they are activated MO free rental plans in last month.

Although after making my bill payment before due date my cellphone was disconnected. I registered my complain at the Airtel gallery at Lokhandwala, Andheri [mumbai]. But even after showing the entry in my bank pass book he said that if I want immediate reconnection I would have to deposit cash, as it would take a few days to trace the entry. I had to deposit the cash against my wishes. I have received the next months bill and still the entry is not reflecting. To make matters worse they have charged a penalty for late payment. It is impossible to speak to a person on their helpline no.

As my validity was about to expire i took validity card but even if the card is correct also its not recharging... I tried from evening 7.30 to morning 4.30am but still its coming is voucher is invalid.

I called the customer care also, those people told me try after 1hour but nothing happened afterwards... When i tried to call back its coming is as please leave a sms to 121... actually it has to connect to executive... when i sent sms a sms came "we will solve this issue within 24 hours"...

What if i do when my validity expires... I wont receive incoming calls... I'm in big trouble... Otherwise i have to change my sim within 1 day.

I was having around 482 balance in my account. On 29th Jun, 2007, late night it reduced to zero balance. I have complaint so many times to Airtel customer care executive, even I spoke to senior people over there. They assured me that it will be refunded back to my account within 24 hours. But it never happened. Everytime I called them, they make some excuses and try to convince me that it will be refunded back. But no results till now.

I am Customer of airtel mobile No is 9810603396 I have STD rental scheme whereby Rs1.50 is daily cut. On 2 July I received SMS at 6:17 pm that a monthly rent of Rs 50/ has been charged for COMBO pack which I had disconnected in May for STD plan Scheme How can deduction of two schemes be made at one time. On inquire from 121 I was given STD details which I had never made between 26 June to 1 July. I was refused the telephone number details. Also your Executives Karan, Vipin, Puja all had a different detail to give. I do not expect such behavior from such a big organizations Executives to such an old customer of your company. Miss Shweta of Balaji communication Karol Bagh is witness to this. Is Airtel DEDUCTING double monthly Rentals Of two schemes at one time.

1.These numbers are totally unknown to me :6781RBTRENT ,779 ,555But none of it was reverted back and nobody followed up with me.
2. Also had written about the late fee of Rs 50 not be be levied because I got the bill late.
3. Also for this month have been billed for sms' again though 50 sms were free for me between 6June and 5th July.
4. Also this month again I have been billed falsely for the following numbers (And what kind of a number is 6781RBTRENT for which I have been billed for two months at 30 bucks each):

I am using a airtel mobile and my number is 9972299008. This is a pathetic service provider I have ever come across. They charge for the service which customer can never use. After launching several complaints against my GPRS services. There was no action taken. And when they have sent me the itemized bill they are showing a usage of 51K of usage.

Never the less they have also charged me 50Rs of Late payment fine where as I made the payment before time.

When I spoke to the customer care. They have no idea what I was talking about. They were seeing stars and moons perhaps all the planets also. I asked the rep to transfer the call to her supervisor. The reply of the supervisor was "YOU HAVE USED THE SERVICE. HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT YOU HAVE NOT" Is it the customer service you are providing.

Being a technical support manger I know whats 5K of bytes means. This is the worst service provider. With pathetic service and worst commutation.

Hi,

I am using a prepaid connection with number 9967962696 and I have put in a STD plan (Rs49 Rental and RS1.25/min STD) activation on 29th Jul 2007, and even after 4 days of chasing the customer care the plan is not yet activated and every time I call up they say it will take next 24 hours. Its really perplexing. Someone please tell me a way out.

I have lot of issues with Airtel billing and network coverage.
In my office area arond Magarpatta City in pune, the netwrok coverage is pathetic. The network is absent and hnce mobile becomes useless.

Another issue is with their online payment. I paid my bill online but even after 3 weeks that have not reflected and moreover I for payment reminder after loggin the complaint.

i am a student of management using AIRTEL PREPAID CONNECTION AND now using PREPAID GPRS (MOBILE OFFICE250 PACK) , but the drawback is that from last 2months its PREPAID INTERNET SERVICE IS VERY POOR . MY PC GOT HANGED MANY TIMES AND I HAD FACED MANY PROBLEMS AND INCONVENIENCE DUE TO THE FAULTS OF THE BHARTI AIRTEL PUNJAB CIRCLE . IN PATIALA REGION MOST OF THE AREAS ARE WITHOUT BROADBAND SERVICE AND DUE TO WHICH THEY ARE DEPENDING UPON AIRTEL GPRS . NOW I WANT TO APPEAL BEFORE THE HIGHER ATHORITIES OF AIRTEL TO TAKE MY COMPLAINT IN REGARD AND DO PROVIDE EDGE FACILITY IN PATIALA ZONE ALSO SO THAT THE PEOPLE FACING THE PROBLEM OF SLOW SPEED CAN AVAIL THE FACILITY IN FULL FLEDGE MANNER.

I have been observing that whenever i make calls, especially ISD/STD calls & try to terminate the call 1-3 seconds before the next pulse starts, it invariably carries forward to the next pulse & I end up paying for the full pulse even though I have not used any talk time for that pulse.

Initially, I did not notice this, but now it is quite evident that this is how the software has perhaps been written to "increase" the billing!!

Has this been bought to the notice of TRAI or OMBUDSMAN or MRTPC? The erring company(AIRTEL) should be asked to pay damages/penalties worth a few hundred crores, as they would have made much more than that with a minor "adjustment" in the software.
