I bought AirTel Pre-Paid phone, and it didn't get activated for three days, in spite of me calling everyday, and those folks offering an excuse that activation may take up to 24 hours (first day), 48 hours (second day) and 72 hours (third day). Then I finally went to the shop from where I had got the phone, got a contact to call from them, and my phone was active within thirty minutes.

Then I entered a Rs. 350- value card, and without using the phone, I found that merely Rs. 12- were remaining in my account. Called them up, and they said that I listened to songs for that much money. When I said that it was not so, they said they would investigate and get back to me within 48 hours. After not hearing, called them again, and got yet another excuse. Right now, they have been telling me that I made some obscene number of calls to KBC. Their other excuse is, you had called us about 5 minutes back, so your account is locked, and call after an hour, although the truth would be that that is the only time of the day I had called them.

Anyway, the bottom line is, these AirTel folks are cheats. They eat away about Rs. 200 - out of the Rs. 350 as some fixed charges, and eat away the remaining through other unfair means. Shame on AirTel.

Sorry to say that I am Airtel Chandigarh Customer (Mobile : 09915281527).
On this postpaid connection, Normal STD call rates is @Rs2.65/min.
But I have activated additional STD pack at the cost of Rs75/month after that the STD rates falls @Rs1.25/min.

Now the issue is that, billing is done at actual rates. (Rs2.65/min) due to which my unbilled amount sores very rapidly.

So airtel keeps of disconnecting my outgoing on every 3-4 days. means in last billing cycle my outgoing calls are barred for more than 10days. THIS IS DESPITE OF MAKING THE EXCESS PAYMENT (around double the amount) THAN USAGE.

I have made around double the payment than my usage but still the problem is same. I am getting repeated calls from Airtel side to make more payment else they will disconnect the outgoing calls.
By repeatedly calling on Airtel customer support (so called) number, I didn't get any satisfactory answer.
They say that you make more payments and the excess amount will be adjusted in the next billing cycle.

Actually i am a handicapped.I am also airtel customer.In last Friday(1-12-06) i missed my mobile.then i got a new duplicate sim at the same no in airtel headoffice in chennai.They told to me your sim is activate with in 3 hours but only it does not activate.I complained to the airtel customer service many times.There is no response that side.I have the bill provide by airtel.

I have subscribed the MMS & Airtel Live, Airtel send me the automatic settings after installing settings still I am unable to send the Pictures Clips or MMS, I called up to clarify the same, bur they are unable to provide me the details how to activate or configure settings in my handset.

Never, ever take an Airtel, India service as long as you live. Their customer care is so bad you'd think they are a government service! They don't care about customers and it doesn't bother them that you will change service providers. Below is a copy of my letter to them.

I would like to lodge an Official complaint with your Customer Care Department and with the utmost unprofessional behavior of your service representatives.

For the past 3 months Airtel cancels my outgoing call facility as well as SMS towards the end of the month. This problem started on 26th November and was resolved after countless trips to the Airtel Office
in Kamla Nagar.

Upon resolution, the phone worked fine for 3 weeks when on 27th December again we were not allowed to make calls. The message prompt says ' Aap ko anumati nahin hain, kyonki aapki Active Service khatam hai'. Again we had to make hundreds of calls to your customer care department and each time we had to explain the whole situation from the beginning. Again we were told the same things by your customer managers, ' Have you checked your balance', " Have you checked the SIM card" , " Your phone must be defective" and of course each time the representative assures me that either everything is fine from their side and I'm wasting their time or that they have forwarded my complaint to the Technical department and the matter will be resolved in due time. Again, we had to make five trips to the Bunglow Road Office, Kamla Nagar. Miss Payal at the customer Desk knows us, Dr Jaiswal and Family very well and she can easily corroborate out story. Finally the matter was resolved on the 2nd of January.

On January 26th, again the same message was prompted and we couldn't make outgoing calls or send SMS. Again, the same rigmarole. Again we had to speak to umpteen representatives narrating the same story from November and each time the same protocol asking us whether we have checked the balance, checked the validity, check the SIM card, check the handset, reinsert the SIM etc . All these calls take up time and cause a great deal of frustration as it seems we are just being jerked around. Finally on 27th January, I narrated the entire story to the Floor Supervisor, Ms Pinky, who assured me that my phone would be working by Monday 29th January and if not, I ask for her from the Customer Care and they will directly put me in touch with her. On Monday after noon, after the phone still didn't start working, I called 121 to speak to Ms Pinky. Every customer care representative I spoke to refused to transfer me to her. Firstly, they insisted that I tell the whole story to them and then again followed the same rotten questionnaire about my phone, validity etc. Then they would tell me that everything is fine and that the phone is working so there is no point speaking to Ms Pinky. One representative went to the extent of blaming me for all this! After telling them that the matter hasn't been resolved they finally told me they have no way of transferring my call to her and that's she was very busy to begin with.When I asked if she could call me back when she gets free , they flatly refused. Hence I had no way of getting in touch with her and it seems like she is deliberately avoiding us. I am very disappointed by this lack of professionalism and callous attitude.

Today is February 2nd. I still cannot make calls and now when I call 121, I'm directly told that my phone is working according to their system so there is nothing else that can be done. I manager, Mr Anuj told me that according to the Technical team, they have already spoken to me and the matter was resolved on the 27th of January! I never received any call and obviously, the matter was not resolved!

It seems that there is a culture of malaise and apathy that has consumed he people at Airtel. Everyone tells us to wait endlessly and tells us that there is no problem to begin with.

We are a family of doctors and we've been elite members for more than 10 years. We have patients to take care of rather than pursue Airtel for the most part of our day. But I am sick and tired of your pathetic service and cold indifference exhibited by your representatives. At no pint did I get any sympathy from any of your people but rather I made to feel that I'm the one who is the problem and somehow all this is my fault because everything is perfect on the Airtel system!

I will never ever buy another Airtel service in my life nor recommend it to anyone.

I am a corporate client (ITC Limited). I am really fed up calling my account executive Mr.Chandru (+919840815413). At the time of new connection false commitment where thrown by him,later at the time of billing i can find all errors.

When i try to launch the complaint he never picks up my call. His response his very very poor. He feels that he is the only busy working person & we are all jobless.

The request was raised on 10th February 2007 and the expected date for providing details/ resolution was 12th February at 13.30 hrs.

I wish to bring to your kind notice that an amount of Rs. 50/- was deducted from my balance. When I contact Hyderabad customer care office to know the details for which service it was deducted .The concerned officials said that some service was utilized (probably prono/ or live chat) on 10th February between 07.51.00 to 07.51. 00 (only for less than 45 seconds). Than I requested him that we want to know the details. The concerned officials said that we would not provide you further details because this amount is very petty (small). And for Rs. 50/ we are not going to provide you details. Ms Sirasa made this reply. Than I asked her to register the complaint or provide me the phone number on which I should lodge my complaints. After great persuasion she lodged the complaint and cut the phone. At about 16.03.33 I got a message from Airtel that your voice portal best of 2006 is successfully activated. Than again I contacted the customer care services and wanted to know the details of this, because I have neither asked such kind of service and nor provided any such service to my phone. Than Mr Harish taken the call and unable to respond any thing about this, but in general he responded positively and assured me that you will get reply on 12th February at 13.30 or before it.

Thus I want to bring your kind notice that the officials at Hyderbad customer center haven't any proper explanation, and yet my problem is not solved.

The status of my request is still "OPEN" and I have not heard from anyone from Airtel side. I take this opportunity to raise this issue through your esteemed organization; so that Airtel does something to improve it's services and does not let few people to spoil the company's name.

I am using Airtel Connection since 1996 at Delhi. For Last 1 year, the signal breaks down during telecommunication. Number of complaints have been filed but invain. Airtel does not care for its customers now. Let Vodafone come here and teach lesson to Airtel Bharti Mittal.

I requested on 56561 for GPRS activation and many times complained to technical department but now after 8 days, still my gprs is not active and you blocked my cc number (121).

Every time I dialed 121 + language selection + 414 I connected to costumer care executive instead of technical dept. & they says you are entering 9(ninth) option. So if you are Airtel user call and register complaint for these problems, pressure can improve the situation.

The problem started when my number 9872888080 was in roaming and i was in gurgaon from september to november end.As i only took this connection there because i have to use my gprs connection but there was a lot of technical problems when i was in roaming and whenever i dialed 121 there for technical issues i was not all all helped by the executives of 121 as they mentioned me that my number is of punjab so they cant help me out regarding that so i have to call at 9815012345 from std outlet or from my mobile which was already on roaming, but whenever i tried to call from land based ph.line it was asking me for a password (numeric) which i never was provided. So i was not getting internet services for approximately 3 months, and when i came back to my home network in month of nov - end then my problem was solved..

This was regarding my internet services in roaming, now let us come to another issue, This time i was called up by one of the executive about the change in bill plan and i specially mentioned him not to change my bill plan but it wasnt done and he deliberately changed my bill plan and what i see in my bills now is a total of approx 1,136 Rs, any how after a lot of headache with the customer service i have got rental waiver for the error made by your executive.

Anyhow that is not all in my bill , now i see a rentals for gprs for Rs 251 approx. and i dont see any reasons for that because i have been given free gprs for 3 months and thats ending on 17th feb 2007. And when i tried calling today i was not able to talk continuously for 30 secs and every time call get disconnected and they say it is technical fault , see i get so irritated feel like throwing my ph . because i have to explain again and again to everyone same problem.

And if you think that is all you are mistaken, now when i try calling 121 to disconnect my gprs it say to write text message because they have disconnected the helpline number because i have called more than 3 times because of technical problems with airtel.

I like to inform you that please go through this entire issue because i also have some of the voice files stored with me in my mobile phone of the customer executives in which they are assuring me to solve the problems and if no steps are being taken by your end i am going to write written complaint to TRAI regarding this as i am totally sucked with airtel now & going to disconnect my number.

The customer service people are extremely rude and refuse to let me talk to their supervisor. The call center people told me that they would transfer my call to their supervisor but then disconnected me. On calling again, first I was refused to be transfered to the person I had spoken to earlier, and then when i asked to transfer my call to their supervisor, the guy refused to before I gave all my details again. Pathetic service and a complete deadened. Ive been a customer of theirs for over 5 years, but now im sure i want to give up this number. Hutch seems to be much much better.

I have an airtel prepaid connection. For the past three months my outgoing calls facility gets blocked at the whims of Airtel. I have lost count of how many times I have registered complaint with Airtel customer care but with zero results. Every time there is a new customer care agent who has no idea of the history of the complaint. Even the request to speak to senior concerned person falls on deaf ears. All the documents required for verification have been submitted to Airtel still they keep asking for it. They say that the matter would be resolved in a day or two but months have elapsed still problem persists. Airtel SUCKS. I will shift to Hutch if this doesn't get resolved and would recommend others planning to buy a new connection to be aware of the terrible customer care of Airtel before buying it. Also, would file a consumer forum complaint as this is nothing short of harassment.

I have been with airtel since more that 2 years now. I thought i am using the best cellular service provider in the country. But now i realize how wrong i was! Airtel sucks! I have never seen such agents talking to their clients so rudely, even the supervisors. Not just that they cant speak good English, they dont even know what sympathy & empathy. I will cancel the service very soon. With me, i have 57 friends on mine who will cancel the service. Thank you, airtel!

I am one of their client which was harassed by them for a month. My brother was using number 98... series when they started the series 99 they asked us are we interested to have99series& having all number same. I took it but was using Reliance. After paying rental for four month I thought to activate my number 99 ... then the hell broke after fifteen remainders to activate my number they didn’t have any clue. They said their was problem with the sim & they will supply me the duplicate sim. Most of their customer care executive were making lame excuses that server is down they were not able to see the records or they had passed their request to technical guys, but they are not working on the complain. After several reminders they send me the sim with the assurance that it will be activated after calling the customer care. but my number never started after several call to customer care. They didn’t have the clue what was wrong. I am really troubled to call them the bunch of unprofessional Not having the basic manners & not aware of their job. I remember most of their names, when I asked to transfer my call to senior officers they didn’t comply. After many request they did transfer my call to them but they were also inefficient I asked what was problem they didn’t know. I asked what is my complain number so that I can use them as reference if I have to call again. they were hesitant to give. at last they said your mobile number is your complain number. Third officer gave my the address of their franchise address of vashali saying that they are the person who could help me .My brother wrote email to their nodal officer, appellate officer & one to CEO desk asking them to help us & please give us written replay why nothing is done at their front. They never bother to replay our I mails .When we tried their phones it was directed to other person who never picked it. After failing at that front i approached to their franchise Haris enterprise vashali, they said that it will be done from the customer care In front of me they called air tel officers and took some token number and said my phone will be activated with in 4 hours. two days passed still no development at airtel front. When i approached harish enterprise they gave other assurance that it will today start. At home I came to know that airtel will send other sim as the duplicate sim which was given to me was mistakenly supplied to me. Third sim arrived with the new assurance it will activated with in four hour. but again the same thing no activation of sim& cold replay the customer care & their officers. Again I was forced to approach their franchise. the lady was sorry for my troubles She again called his officers stating all my problem but she didn’t give any solution. Her call came thrice asking is my sim activated but her work felt in the deaf ears. No activation of my number.

Again i went to the franchise she asked me not to visit as she felt troubled for my in convenience. she again called her officers& said that she will update me on the phone on every development. lastly my phone started the first thing which came on my phone was 800 bill. Although their was no out standing bill on that number and when I approached the customer care they were not aware. One representative did call me I asked him why no action was taken to solve my problem He said he will go to all record and will get back to me to tell what went wrong. I am still waiting for his reply.

Three sim, several calls, many emails& several visit to franchise is not assurance to get your work done by Airtel people & last they will send bill without outstanding.

I have been using airtel connection for the past 10 months. I didnt pay the bill for the month of Jan and person named priya called me with number 9940039767. She spoke very bad and used many abusing word for non payment, I tried to reach customer care to complain about the call but there was no proper reply from them. She started calling all the number to which i have called. Airtel customer service is very bad.

I am working in an MNC. I have been using airtel for the past 10 months and last months due to some financial reason i was not able to pay the bill. For that reason an executive called and spoke very bad started using abusing words. So i said i need to speak to the supervisor but she didnt transfer the call. I tried customer care and informed about the call but there was no proper reply. Customer service is very bad in Airtel. Airtel customer service is very rude and improper.

This company charged me 50.00 for a pre-paid calling card service to India @ 7.9 cents a minute and never gave me a pin number or any other relevant information to the email address i gave them.

To this day i am yet to receive any communication from them.

I am an airtel subscriber since two years. Now these people have barred my incoming without prior notice. I didn' t even knew about this unless my family and friends have started calling on my other friends' number stating the problem. Above it they are not entertaining my call on the customer care number nor even my SMSs are getting reply. I am really pissed off by the attitude towards their customers. Thats causing a lot of trouble.

My suggestion to Airtel would be to rather close down their customer care center, that have a setup with customer care executives who behave as if if you aren't in agreement to what they say, are all ready to bash you up.

The customer care representatives are a bunch of idiots and complete hooligans.

My outgoing calls were barred due to non submission of photo and address proof. On asking why I was not informed before barring, the executive told me that if I had submitted documents on time I wouldn't have faced this problem.

Airtel had sent messages saying that photo id, passport size photo and address proof should be submitted. I sent someone with all these docs to the airtel office, and the person was told that PAN card is also required and that authorized signatures are also required. When I called up airtel customer care to ask them why they had given me incomplete information in their message, the representative told me she didnt care what message had been sent to me, and that I should have called up airtel to find out if the documents specified in the message were sufficient or anymore were required. I requested her to connect me to her supervisor and she said she will not do so.

Another customer "scare" representative I spoke to on this matter, told me I was doing battmeezi !

I have this airtel number for the last 5-6 years, and I must say that this experience has left a very very bad taste. However great the management of airtel might be, customers get to interact with only these customer "scare" representatives, and after speaking to 4 such representatives in the last 2 days, the only thing I want to do is exit my airtel connection, and take airtel to consumer court for harassment.

While most companies like MTNL, BSNL, Reliance, TATA INDICOM have abolished CLIP charges on their Fixed Line connection, Airtel continues to charge this at Rs 25/= per month.

There is no mention of this charge in the Airtel website in any of the plans. Neither in any brochure it is mentioned. Only when you want to activate this service, Customer Care informs of this charge.

I took the airtel postpaid connection on 2nd of march. One person promised me (hope it was not a joke) it will take 4 to 5 working days to get my std and isd facilities to get activated. Its been 11 days now std is not activated. What a pathetic service!
