Buyer beware!

Complaint Rating:

Dr. Sydney Coleman, founder of Lipostructure has more than 50 complaints against him that have been filed with the DOH in NYC. This doctor has no business calling himself the founder of anything much less fat transfer. His fat grafts do not last at all and he harvests fat from areas without the patients' consent and leaves them with new problem areas. He took an oath to protect the patient, but he destroys their lives. He charges exuberant prices and you end up disfigured. Please do not go to him. You will be making the biggest mistake of your life. I made the mistake and have to live with the consequences daily. He has no conscience nor regard for his actions.

That's very funny that a certain someone should post about Dr. Ellenbogen on a message board all about Coleman.

In a previous post I mentioned a west coast doctor, a general plastic surgeon who does NOT specialize in fat grafting alone, who showed me three of his patients and his receptionist with such natural, beautiful fat grafting to their faces that it made me realize fat grafting was not the problem so much as the fat grafter.

Well what a striking coincidence! That very surgeon with such excellent results... WAS Richard Ellenbogen!

As predicted, unfactual information--downright slander against Coleman's rivals is now being posted---anything to take the heat off of Coleman!

I would suggest that Syd fess up to the fact that he was a resident under Richard Ellenbogen, who was teaching Sydney about fat grafting and that it was Richard Ellenbogen who called it LIPO-RESTRUCTURE years and years ago, but that Sydney took out the "re", trademarked LIPOSTRUCTURE, and claimed that he independently came up with the term after inventing his unique and superior technique.

I think Sydney needs to respect his elders and give credit where credit is due. His aesthetic results on myself and many others look like chopped liver compared to the UNDETECTABLY smooth results of Ellenbogen's happy patients.

I was utterly shocked, disturbed, saddened and incensed when I saw what he did to your beautiful face.

There is nothing that can justify why anyone would do that to a patient who had come in to just plump lips and get crows feet tweaked. Utterly shocking. This is absolutely criminal.

There is not a shadow of doubt in my mind that Sydney Coleman is a psychopath, a very hateful, arrogant, sick psychopath.

What the CBS reporter concluded to me after having spoken to over a dozen victims proved correct.

He said to me, " You--you were VERY LUCKY he didn't do your entire face", after explaining that patients consistently reported they had multiple areas of non-consent done, namely their entire faces.

How wantonly cruel. How unnecessary. As beautiful as you were NO PLASTIC SURGEON in their right mind would have done anything more than tweaks, something that did not require complete sedation for hours and hours.

Again, THIS IS NOT ABOUT PLASTIC SURGERY GONE WRONG.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT POOR SKILL OR DR/PATIENT MISCOMMUNICATION.

THIS IS ABOUT A SICK INDIVIDUAL WHO KNOWINGLY, CONSISTENTLY, AND CRIMINALLY DEFORMS HIS PATIENTS.

NOT ONCE, NOT TWICE. NOT JUST IN THE EARLY PART OF HIS CAREER. TRY AS FAR BACK AS 15 YEARS AGO AND AS RECENTLY AS 2004.

AT THIS POINT, WHAT MOTIVATES HIM TO DO THIS TO THE INNOCENT PUBLIC IS A MUTE POINT, IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MATTER.

HE'S A DANGEROUS MAN, SNEAKY AND COWARDLY, BUT DANGEROUS BECAUSE HE USES LIES AND ANESTHESIA TO GET YOU SMACK DAB UNDER HIS THUMB.

HE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY THE LAW, BY THE BOARDS THAT ACCREDIT HIM, BY HIS PEERS.

Surgeons, please speak out against this man. You are the ones who see the "casualties" who come in for correction. You may not have heard their full stories-----I never dared mention my full story for fear of being turned away, not believed, and pegged as a "difficult patient"------but now you know that behind the physical deformities there could be or are very serious breaches of ethics.

I can tell many of you are already disgusted at what he's doing to people from having met and spoken with some of you.
Was all this pain, suffering, correction---all because of Syd--this complaints board, the patient support website-----------was this all really necessary? NO. I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd rather be concerned with the normal, mundane, banal duties of life.

I have been a patient with Dr coleman for 7 years now, if anyone wants to see my before and after pics please contact me, He is incredible!! wonderful!..and again DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PERSON TELLING YOU THIS!..In any industry u will always get a unhappy person, no matter what! Doctors in michigan all think he is the best! when i was there last year, he had a doctor fly in from france to learn, now let me ask you this question, IF doctor coleman was such a bad doctor why would all these doctors have so much respect for him?? He is a great doctor, i am so happy, i am 38 and people think i am 28..again NO one will ever touch my face but this doctor, I look very natural, no one can even guess i did anything at all!!! my gfs tell me i look better now than when i was in my 20's..whoever is considering having anything done with Dr coleman, i would say GO for it, he is really the greatest doctor ever, Thank you:)

How strange that you would tell people, " DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PERSON TELLING YOU THIS", namely me.

Why would you say that when I've acknowledged that Coleman may be capable of doing good work, when he wants to? If you were satisfied, good. Seriously. That's one less person I have to pep talk, share life stories with, incur outrageous phone bills over, worry about, and feel protective over.

I remember window shopping in NYC for a possible gift for Dr. Coleman after the consultation with him. I was elated, excited to be in NYC, excited that the previously unhappy years of my life would be gone... freshen up my face before embarking on a new phase in my life. Many people desire this.

Dr. Coleman, during the consultation was soft-spoken, astute, relaxed, enthusiastic. I was thoroughly impressed. My gut instincts, which had never failed me before told me he was smart, detail-oriented, thorough, creative and the perfect plastic surgeon for giving people what they wanted: subtle enhancements. The days of people wanting drastic change seem gone. People start earlier instead of waiting until they need major surgery.

My mother is praying for Dr. Coleman. She has the entire church congregation praying for the victims, for me and for him. And in order to protect her I never even told her the half of it. She never saw me at my worst.

There are no winners here. Nothing but an unnecessary tragedy for all.

Forget it Sandy Hanna. People are wise enough, to see your blatant disregard for those maimed by Coleman. If you believe for one moment... the general populous "WOULD TRUST YOU?" Think again!

To be so callous in your feelings, after seeing the graphic mutilations of Coleman victims?? I am more apt to believe that you "ARE" Coleman.

By the way, name "ALL" those supposed doctors in Michigan? And at the same time, you might want to ask of yourself..."How Do All Of Those Corrupt Politicians Get Voted In?" HHMMM? Food for thought! Well i had the best results, and anyone that wants to see them can email me, i am so happy i found this doctor, he will work with you, and NO i am not coleman, i could show you pics of me before and after... trust me anyone that is thinking of anything let me no!!!... He fixed a doctors "no i will not mention other doctors name" i am not that way!!..what is done is done!... but coleman fixed what happened to me, and MOre, i look better now than before any problems!!... again whoever is thinking of surgery with coleman or is reluctant please Contact me thank you.

I think that's an excellent idea.

Sandy, please email me your before and afters and since you're so adamant you're a real patient, if you could send an ID card or medical record indicating you actually had surgery with him.

Please don't forget to comment on what you specifically requested by him.

I do agree that people should hear from BOTH SIDES, good results and bad. I'll await your pictures.

Still waiting for your pictures? I'm very serious about this. Please email me your pictures and a document indicating his facility with your name on it. Or send photos with markings made by him just before you went into the O.R. for surgery. On the side of those photos your name should be indicated with a date.

Just know that you do not have to prove anything to these to patients. You are happy and you are aloud to be. Please do not feel like you should have to send them your medical records to prove you are not Dr. Coleman. It is shame that in an open forum such as this, anyone who has someting to say that is not hateful about Dr. Coleman are all treated so unfairly. Most posters have posted with an alias to protect themselves from something. You should not allow anyone to make you feel like you need records with you name on them and photos of yourself to justify your results. Thank you for putting up with the ridicule and for posting.

You seem to suffer from extreme disorientation...first you email me asking which document I would like to see, then you publicly say you will email to me the information you offered above provingthat Dr. Coleman actually did the work.

Now you're saying the opposite. What a convenient excuse to never prove that those before and after pics are really yours, done by Coleman.

Your schizoid willingness to share pics then unwillingness to share them is not the normal behavior of a real patient, so unfortunately you're officially a phony.

You've just lost all credibility by drastically contradicting yourself, and on a complaints board! How odd you would expect anything other than complaints on a complaints board and on top of that attack the complainants...shows desperation if you ask me.

The reason we ask that she identify herself as a real Coleman patient is because many people feel it's Coleman himself posting as "happy patients" on this board.

Was there ever a sentence indicating you must hate Coleman to post? Earlier, a Julio claimed to be a satisfied patient, but was a rational one who didn't dismiss our complaints as lies.

Was there ever a sentence indicating if you're satisfied with his results, you're not allowed to be? Um, I think I've said over and over and over that if you are, that's great.

TO ALL COLEMAN PATIENTS, BOTH SATISFIED WITH HIS WORK AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN VIOLATED BY HIM:

If you've had good results, I'm glad. If you were violated, it's all too familiar a story and it is absolutely unacceptable.

Everything I've ever posted is the TRUTH. ( Actually, that I have "kids" is only partially true...in the sense that my nephew and neice are practically like my kids, and yes they did suffer as did my entire family).

My harsh words against Dr. Coleman is born of the material harm, the psychological harm, and the domino effects of this harm that infected so many other parts of my life as it did many others. My accusations are NOT slander because they are evidence-based conclusionsof how perfectly he fits the profile of a sociopath, a narcississtic, deluded sociopath.

I am NOT guilty of exaggerating, lying, libel. As a matter of fact, I'm salivating at the opportunity to provide the evidence to back it all up. I would like nothing more than to face Sydney in a court of law and expose all the evidence so that he has to answer to each and every accusation, and subsequently explain away each piece of evidence that supports that accusation.

The question in my mind throughout this entire complaints section is...why have we not heard from Sydney Coleman himself? Why the need to have questionable, anonymous postings supporting him?

Here's a proposition to Sydney Coleman himself: You MUST be aware of this complaints board. Why not answer directly all of these allegations? It would be very interesting to see how you defend yourself, with what information you use to defend yourself.

I think that you were very, very unlucky in having undermined some of your patients. This will be my last posting, but certainly not the time you will hear from me.

sandy, you put yourself in a dangerous situation when you refer a person to a doctor, any doctor. what if someone listens to you, rather than those he harmed? what if the person that listens to you winds up disfigured? how would you live with that? oh i suppose you would do the same as coleman does...this board is intended to warm people of his bad work, and had i read it before my surgery, i would never have had him operate on me. why not start your own site, and leave this on be.
