Coinbase Wallet Crypto stuck on "in progress" for 148 days. support denies that the transaction exists.

I tried sending 13.396 solana from my coinbase wallet to my solflare wallet.

It has been stuck on pending for almost 5 months now.

I already tried talking to support and they said it "reached its destination" which it clearly hasn't. I showed them the screenshots from the app showing the sending wallet was the one I was logged in to & the receiving address was shown, but they said on their side it doesn't show that and that those transactions on my side are "just a glitch".

The support person seemed to have no idea how crypto or the app they were hired to provide support for works. $2,000 gone.

Recommendation: use another wallet

Update by Joe H97

in addition, the people in the support chat on website will go for 5-15 minutes & there's a bot in the chat asking if you're still there. if you don't reply within minutes it will end the chat. the support on phone barely speaks english. for their fees they should hire better support.

Coinbase Wallet Only bc it can’t be rated less!

I verified my account and identity upon establishing account complete with uploading my drivers license. All of a sudden when my account was rising and I wanted to add funds, I received a message to verify identity. This time no matter what I have tried or how many support messages I have sent, I RECEIVE AN ERROR SAYING THAT MY IDENTITY CAN NOT BE VERIFIED. To add insult to injury, this is not the only wallet I have. I have 2 and the other wallet is fully functional and verified in an alias. So just how secure is this ID process if coinbase rejects what is real and factual, which has at this point cost me $300, but they accept what is not real as though it is an actual person? The topper here: there is no one to speak with, no help provided, just a continued lock on my account so that I have “wasted my money and time.” Coinbase wants to be the US wallet. That’s actually how I stumbled into this and the reason I tested the ease of opening an alias. I did not put much into the alias bc I have anticipated issues. In fact, it would have made me feel secure. Instead the only issues are reserved to my actual identity and not until I was actually making money. Secure enough to be the US wallet? I don’t think so - obviously there is a disconnect in this verification process and no REAL PERSON COMMUNICATION to handle issues. Is this app easy? Yes! Probably could be loved if not for this very serious hiccup in the security. Right now it feels much more like a rip-off than a secure wallet.

Coinbase Wallet Nope

I get that miners fees are insane right now, which is no fault of coinbase. However, since there’s 0 fee transferring crypto between coinbase and coinbase pro, it makes me wonder why the fee is so insane to send stuff from the wallet to either of those. Also it begs the question why is there even a coinbase and coinbase pro and why isn’t there just one app with the same functionality? You can avoid most fees by sending crypto to coinbase pro from coinbase before making transactions/exporting to wallets. Thank god I only have like 700$ worth in the wallet which is pretty much dead to me since I’m not paying the 500$+ in fees to get it out. I’ll just hope the July 14 eip upgrade makes the fees reasonable enough to take the crypto out and run.

There are much better wallets that connect to better blockchains with reasonable fees. I suggest looking into them before getting coinbase wallet.

With the amount of new people getting into crypto, coinbase should put huge disclaimers about the fee prices before they allow you to transfer anything the wallet. That would hurt their business model though i am sure.

I haven’t had any other issues that others talk about as far as losing crypto or getting locked out, but to be fair all I put in there was some aave and usdc which is now stuck due to insane fees.

You can set a custom fee limit if you want, but there’s a chance your transaction could get stuck in limbo so I wouldn’t chance it.

It’s a very expensive lesson to learn. Be careful. There are much better wallet options out there.

Coinbase Wallet This APP has horrible security!

Both my father and I download in this and put money into it combines worth of about $9000. Everything was good for a few weeks until yesterday, November 14th…. Somehow somebody hacked into both my Coinbase Wallet and my fathers Coinbase Wallet and cleaned out all of our USDT. If you’re wondering And if you’re wondering how I know that it was one hacker that did it…. Well the I don’t. Oh I know is that my USDT what is transferred out of my wallet without my consent in the middle of the night while I was sleeping (and no I do not sleepwalk). As soon as I figured out that my money was gone the first thing I thought to do was to go check my fathers Coinbase wallet on his phone. I grabbed his phone, had him open it up and login to his Coinbase Wallet and checked his funds……. At first we were relieved because all his friends were there, we looked at each other and side, then looked back down at his wallet five seconds later and see funds were no longer there. When we checked the outgoing payments section to our surprise all of his funds as well were sent to the exact same wallet address as mine were excepted this happen five our eyes without us touching anything when we checked the outgoing payments section to our surprise all of his funds as well were sent to the exact same wallet address as mine were excepted this happen five our eyes without us touching anything….. So do I recommend this Wallet?…… The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! And Coinbase Wallet should refund us the money that was stolen from us since their security protocols were not up to snuff.

Coinbase Wallet Zero integrity or customer support: Run, don’t walk away

I chose this app based on high reviews and what seemed to be secure settings. They advertise only 2% of their crypto is hot at any given time and that they carry massive Insurance policies to avoid any loss.

They have NO peace of mind whatsoever and their security promises are a thin veneer and illusion. On July 1—with no notification of a transaction or confirmation email—around $3000 of my cryptocurrency was sent from this wallet to a Binance account based in Vietnam. I contacted customer support immediately upon seeing the transaction. They sent an automated response that someone was on it, but literally nothing has happened in 3 months.

FaceID was supposed to be used for any transaction, and there was literally no notification given to me of this transaction despite my mobile device NEVER leaving my custody. I received no “new login” notification and so what most likely has happened was someone exploited Coinbase’s security. Likely 2FA with mobile numbers is the downfall here; scammers can easily spoof American numbers and gain access that way. I am severely disappointed that there has been no response from any customer service team. I have the account number of the scammer, the transaction hash on the ledger, but there is no justice or restoration of funds.

What is more disconcerting is that there are pages of reddit threads with people experiencing similar issues with Coinbase Wallet. Worse, every one of those users never got a penny back because Coinbase blames it on the user after their “investigation”.

RUN AWAY and save your money. Do not use this app under any circumstances if you want to hold on to anything you put in there.

Coinbase Wallet Really upset

To be completely up front I did not mind the up front fee’s at first, coinbase was my first app or experience with any type of investing.
The fees for buying and selling were disappointing but understandable, I get it, the company needs money to keep providing and updating this service that helps us make money. However that’s still not my issue, my issue is that even with all those fee’s you still have hidden fee’s. I wouldn’t mind the hidden fee’s so much if you were at least up front about it as I’ve accidentally lost money and would have if I’d of known about your hidden fee’s. The hidden fee I’m referring to is the marginal trading hidden fee. Example— I put a lot of money into Bitcoin let’s say, then I decide three days later after it’s doing really well to trade it to a currency supported by coinbase that tends to maintain a dollar balance, not only does the transaction say “0” in the fee’s section, it’s a flat out lie, you get charged around 2% of everything you transfer, when I transfer 700 dollars I lost about 20 bucks, this happened about four times and I never got a response to my emails to the devs asking for help. Basically no matter what, their is NO free trading on this app, regardless of what you hear or see on the pics or description for this app, their is no free trading no matter what. Which is unfortunate because they don’t allude to that truth. They allude to the idea on the description and app, that you can “free” trade without loosing but that’s just not the case. This app has been kind of scummy on and off but like said I get that it’s a service many people want and appreciate being able to use it. Does seem rather misleading especially to those new to this kind of thing.

Coinbase Wallet STOP

Don’t use, don’t download. They’re corporate crooks who got a jump on crypto. Most of these big name companies are. They charge outrageous gas fees. Imagine playing the slot and being charged $2 for every penny you play. That’s coinbase in a nutshell. You can only lose and they will do anything to assist you. Of course they can give out cash and free crypto when funneling BILLIONS of dollars from people who don’t understand yet. Apple is just as guilty and will not set any terms or conditions on what developers can and can not do, taking advantage of the fact that it’s not regulated. You definitely don’t want a smiling face digging in your bank account while you’re simply trying to capitalize on opportunities. These companies track your every move and have automated systems in place to make trades with the money they charge you at just the right time no matter what window you trade in. It’s gone completely rogue and so have other apps. This is worse than what Wall Street was already doing. There is absolutely no law, so everything you agree to basically is telling you, if you lose your wallet Id, or if you get robbed. No one is accountable. They took big money, big lawyers, paid the most competent crypto developers and it was easy as that. Right before normal people got a chance to get in, ten thousands companies like this one we’re already planning on turning you upside down. Stay away from these apps. Use YouTube to find an honest crypto developer, they usually have gas free or low gas fee trading apps or chart sites available. I made nothing using apps like this. Even when you make a profit somehow the gas fee increases just enough to leave you with a loss. Crypto developer apps, at least $200 daily and I’m trading no more than $10 a day.

Coinbase Wallet This wallet is the biggest scam I have ever seen

They erased my last review and I’m going to keep leaving them until they decide to do something about giving my money back. I had to spend $17 just to put money in my wallet and then I had to buy Ethereum to take the money out of the wallet. If anybody knows Ethereum is not cheap. I bought Ethereum on April 1 it is now May 22 and the $187 stock that I had in my wallet that I tried to send to coin base so I could sell it is now worth $27. I have been dealing with customer service for over a month and they are worthless because all they do is send you links that are bogus and do nothing basically I have lost $150 plus the 17 I had to spend put the token in the wallet plus the money I had to spend on Ethereum just to take the money out of my wallet. Now my worthless stock is still sitting pending in the wallet. I would be advised not to ever use this wallet and use the Ejin wallet. I had several valuable NFTs sent to this wallet and it still says no NFTs yet. This was over a month ago and the company I got the NF tees from told me it would only take 15 days and that was roughly 45 days ago. So not only have I lost two NF tees worth roughly $200 where I have lost $200 worth of stocks because they were not allow me to remove my stocks from my wallet. They are just stuck pending and there is nothing I can do about it. Customer service said there’s nothing they can do about it and I have basically lost close to $500 because I trusted this wallet. Be very leery if you were thinking about using this wallet and do not use coin base because they charge astronomical fees use coinbase pro if you choose to use coin base at all. The only reason I use coin base is because they are a US-based company and not an offshore company. You can erase my review again and I will leave another one.

Coinbase Wallet Scammers

I was introduced to this site by a girl name Sophia a Chinese young lady. Sophia and I would chat over the app Telegram which is a bogus way to communicate because all of your communication can be deleted by an individual. Anyway Sophia told me about this app which does short term trading and she would show me all the money she is making off the site so she could reel me in, needless to say I started to trust her and started sending money to this wallet hundreds of thousands of dollars wit the promise we we’re going to making a lot of money, which we did make a lot of money according to the system on the trades we did.

After all the trading was done I go to withdraw my money from the wins & the site tells me oh you have to pay taxes on your winnings and I’m like I wasn’t made aware of this. Then I was told you have to pay the taxes before a withdraw can be made and I’m like well I would like to withdraw the money I sent to the app which is not taxable because that’s my money I sent you guys. The customer service representative responded and they told me no nothing can be withdrawn until taxes are paid, I replied well take the taxes out of the winnings I made and they told me they can’t because their taxes will be all missed up at tax reporting time. This site is holding over $600,000 of my own money and is not trying to release anything.

I was told I need to pay $600,000 In taxes which is 10% of my $6,000,000 that I won In short term trading and I’m like well take the taxes from the $6,000,000 in winnings and of course I was told they can’t do that, smh.

After I came up wit the money for taxes they come up wit another excuse oh you took to long to pay taxes and tells me they have to fine me $25,000 and I need to pay it before they can release my money. They don’t want to release my money or yours, it’s a scam please stay away.

Coinbase Wallet Does not function as advertised

I came to this app through Coinbase so I assumed once downloaded they would be linked…they were not. No big deal so I start to sign in only to go through a 20 minute verification process of information I’d already given, when suddenly I’m signed out of both apps and asked for login. Pretty annoyed at this point but anyway time to get what I came for right? Once I’ve linked to two accounts I already had cash on my Coinbase account so I assumed I’d be able to purchase using that but that doesn’t seem possible for whatever reason so I thought there was a glitch or something because my wallet was completely empty so I couldn’t purchase the coin I came for. So I transfer about $5 of btc and after a while it shows up in the wallet but couldn’t be traded or used to purchase anything. So I thought I’d been misunderstanding the app and try to transfer usd coin instead but the app said my daily transfer limit had be reached. ONLY 5 DOLLARS WORTH OF BTC HAD BEEN TRANSFERRED. I decided to give up on linking the two apps and just put my banking info in and once again I have to do a verification process… when that’s done I’m signed out once again but this time adding bank information isn’t an option, only debit card. So I put in my info and surprise I have to verify it. I’m supposed to have “temporary charges” to my card and then put in the amount of the charges to verify I actually own the account I guess but on my banking app the charges literally read “0.00” but the app doesn’t give you this option. I refreshed and refreshed closing both apps and even tried to link the card over again but the app says it’s already been linked even tho I cannot make a single purchase. So now I’m left with a little under $5 worth of btc, because there are transfer fees, that I luckily was able to transfer back to coinbase after this waste of time. Not even gonna bother with customer service lol this app isn’t it.

Coinbase Wallet BE WARNED! Your future fee trap scenario explained

Be warned - If your mad and reading this It’s because the following scenario just happened to you. You thought that by using Coinbase & it’s wallet it should be easy & way cheaper than some external non-Coinbase’ wallet right?. Nope! Unless making $5000+ coin value transactions, the coin you sent from coinbase to its coinbase wallet is to be trapped by mid blowing fees. Coinbase DOES NOT TRULY WARN YOU on this! (saying you may be subject to standard fee is a known aspect of transactions as we experience the standard % fee when converting/buying on coinbase.com). So, you think ok..so the fee % difference from coinbase.com to its own coinbase wallet app May be a little more as it’s going from one system to another system (in the same house/company) acceptable? NOPE.

So are getting into crypto and yes coinbase has simplified it in an incredibly simple way! But you are not dumb - So you use the wallet because coinbase has its own wallet app too..cool. You want a hot trending coin not supported on coinbase so you send what you need to exchange for that coin - ETH/BTC/USDC/USDT.
So average person will set it all up transfer a this to (say $100/$200 worth). Then get hit with a 20% fee on the way between two coinbase platforms ..ouch…and why such a fee using the the same company? Ok. Then you go to exchange that, say $150 worth coin on the external exchange that has the hot coin you want - ok - BAM! Your “GAS” fee to do this is $98 in Ether. OK wow so that is not going to work. I’ll just move if it back to my coinbase.com, NOPE! You hit ‘SEND” to your coinbase account and BAM! It’s $30 of ETH to send $150..or $38 to send $50. Now that you have lost 20% just getting it between coinbase apps, you can’t even send it back, to convert say that $150 in the wallet cost the same crazy $98 GAS fee. Now you have trapped, unusable value that you can
So you are not alone, your story is the same for tens of thousands of customers who have gotten trapped. BE WARNED!

Coinbase Wallet 38+ Days - Still No Resolution! Why?

12/10 5:42 pm EST

Problem started on 11/03 and continues unresolved as of this review — no resolution in sight. (I’ve been into digital assets since 2018)

38 Days — Still No Resolution!

The complaint: I am unable to see or access my digital asset: XRP funds, balances, or transaction history’s on any of my 5 Coinbase Wallets because COINBASE WALLET technology team has not fixed the issue/glitch which they have acknowledged to me in emails… vaguely describing a “node problem they are working hard on to fix”

All five (5) of my Coinbase Wallets contains most of my XRP that was Bought on Coinbase ; then I would transfer digital assets to Coinbase Wallet App - seemingly easy (suspiciously glitch did not effect my BTC nor my XLM holdings that are also in same 5 COINBASE WALLETS — for 38 days now I’ve patiently waited for a resolution to no avail! Standard unhelpful responses mostly from Coinbase Support Team.

38 Days — Still No Resolution!

My complaint has been referred to a… “Customer Complaint Officer” whom has not, as yet, responded to any follow-up emails and communications as of this review on 12/10.

Effectively, I have lost the ability to trade or convert my digital asset: XRP on the Coinbase Wallet App… Unacceptable!

This is analogous to going to your local bank, asking the teller to see your dollar balance so you can withdraw money and being told your money balance and transaction history don’t appear in your account - we can’t help you says the bank clerk ; adding, nor can you withdraw any money at this time. When you ask to see a manager, he/she says no one is available to discuss your problem with you —- this scenario has plagued me (I assume many many others) for 38 Days without Resolution as of this review dated 12/10.
Unacceptable!

38 Days — Still No Resolution!

“This should be as unacceptable to you as it is perplexing to me” - my opinion, DO NOT use Coinbase Wallet App as your custody Wallet for XRP.

Beyond frustrated!
You feel helpless!
It’s Criminal!

Coinbase Wallet Avoid this app! Poorly managed platform and support service

I downloaded Coinbase wallet to receive a $10 reward from Compound. I tried to convert my USD coin, Ethereum, and Compound to my main Coinbase account by scanning my QR code on my computer for my Coinbase account. USD coin and Ethereum went through no problem but I had to pay a mining fee that costed way too much money. The miner fee must be paid in Ethereum which makes it challenging to withdrawal anything from the platform since you cannot buy Ethereum on Coinbase wallet. So in order to withdrawal you need to add Ethereum on your main Coinbase account —> transfer to your Coinbase wallet —> transfer different currency —> pay for mining fee with Ethereum —> then transfer the remainder of your Ethereum back (hoping you have enough to cover the mining fee). A unnecessary convoluted path that can easily be avoided by not downloading the app Coinbase wallet and exclusively using the main Coinbase or Coinbase pro platform.

My main problem occurred when trying to transfer over Compound. Followed the same protocol by scanning the QR code and it subtracted the money from my wallet but did not deposit it in my account. This occurred 12/19 and I have still not received the funds. I tried to contact Coinbase support but it is impossible to talk to a representative without them filing that your account is compromised and they will shut down your account. I’m happy that the amount I am transferring over is below $100, but the negligence on Coinbase’s behalf has made me lose trust in Coinbase Wallet platform and diminish the trust for Coinbase as a whole.

In addition, if your currency isn’t supported on the platform you lose all of your money when trying to transfer over a currency. There should be a measure incorporated into the algorithm to avoid this occurrence. This is not the case with Compound, but is what the Coinbase support has relayed to me as a ‘resolution’ for my issue.

I will delete this review after a resolution, but if this comment is still here, you should tread lightly because this reflect the dereliction of Coinbase support in securing your investments.

Coinbase Wallet Feedback for the dev

Writing this to the developer, not really users.

I own some ETH and I like you Coinbase, and I know it’s early, but I’m not going to be a fanboy and give you a shining review when this app is clearly lacking, and starting off on the wrong foot in several areas.

I’m being kind in my review and not mentioning a bug, as directed by your blog.

I don’t see this app lasting long or getting many users unless drastic changes are made. First, it needs yet another new name and a better logo. Other Payment apps that gained traction have names that sound good as a verb. “PayPal me”, “Venmo me”. Token wasn’t that much better. IMO. There’s also another Finance app called Toshi. Give it some thought. Random thoughts:

Main page is sluggish I guess due to all the user lists.

Why can you rate someone you haven’t even had one transaction with? That’s silly.

What are you doing to deal with all the fake accounts? Satoshi Nakamoto, Donald Trump, etc. I don’t even really see the point of showing a list like that, especially on the main page. It just makes the app feel like a game, not a safe place for dealing with money. I’m all for transparency but a little more thought into where that kind of stuff is shown and how it’s shown would be nice. On Venmo you at least have to know the name of the person you want to find. You can see public transactions which is kind of cool, but not that useful.

Make it completely brainless to transfer from Coinbase to this app which is hopefully not called Toshi too much longer. My mom needs to be able to figure it out without help.

Everything being formatted like a text message is going to hold the app back. Also, no one likes being spammed with several messages at once and some of these apps are doing that. And having to go to a page in Safari so you can see the top Ethereum news is no fun. Why can’t it be shown in the app? Because the limiting text message format.

Anyway, love you Coinbase but this one is a bit of a stinker. No wonder you didn’t put your name on it :)

Why isn’t there more Coinbase integration for buying ETH?

I could go on probably but I need to get my day started.

Coinbase Wallet Scam

Hey there, names Tyler I invested 100$ into Coinbase wallet to covert it. They charged me about 20$ to do that cause why not, they then charged me to convert ETH into SHIB. Because I live in one of the “few states” where you can’t just buy SHIB for no miner fee. So whatever, I had a good hunch 100$ into SHIB at the time would be worth almost 17x what I invested. So I went through the process of trying to convert. I went from 100 to 70 before I realized “oh there’s a mining fee” at the time the mining fee was barely 10$ to get 70$ worth of SHIB. So I tried, but these people increase the “fee” each time you click to try and convert regardless of demand, so they scam you out of the conversions and say it’s what they got to pay other to mine. So I continued and went from 70-50 in 10 intervals then stopped. Came back two hours later, checked the amount again and tried, nothing. So I look at my wallet double check the amounts and go, “this isn’t right. At the cost of 50$ worth of SHIB the mining cost is about 15$ why won’t my 100$ worth go through.” So I continue and go from 35$ down to 10$ in 5’s. Still nothing so at this point I’m annoyed they are costing me a lot of money because their app didn’t wanna work. So I say “F it let’s try 1$”, remember how I said they don’t tell you about miner cost until they “figure it out”, yeah they then charged me 65$ to convert 1$ worth of ETH, and refused to refund the money. I then spent a week, arguing with their incompetent staff at customer service who don’t have a phone line or apparently have a third graders ability to read. And walked them through what happened in great detail. They give stupid fixes or apologizes and then end up lying saying “you can choose mining rates so it’s not so fast or expensive” but then later telling me “oh you can’t do that”. Then tell me “we’ll figure out what’s wrong and respond.” They then wait 50ish hours to send a message at 8pm at night to say tell me mining rates can’t be changed, and close the case without solving anything.
The level of incompetence, arrogance and sheer inability to read basic English is the reason for this comment. Don’t use them they are scam artists and owe me 130$.

Coinbase Wallet Horrible business practices

This Exchange is #2 in the world but you would never know it by how they treat their customers! Their automated hellscape they all “support” is a complete nightmare and you will never be in contact with an actual human being. I’ve lost thousands due to their shady practices at this point. Their fees are high but that’s besides the point if you have thousands on their exchange but can’t speak to a human being at all to fix an issue. There are other exchanges out there that are much lower ranked yet you can live chat with a human within 24hrs within the exchanges app. It’s super simple and usually the problems are fixed within a few days. I find it unacceptable that this company doesn’t have at the least this option. They try and claim they do yet it’s an automated hellscape that has yet to help me or the numerous ppl I know who say the same things about this app. This company seems like a huge scam in many ways they have literally stolen thousands of coins I’ve had sent to my wallet because of their own mistakes by not specifying the coins erc-20 or native. Only after thousands of ppl sent and lost probably millions in coins did they update their site yet they didn’t return the coin they have its right in the blockexplorer proving they hold it. That is theft plain and simple. They just think everyone is a [censored] and they don’t know better… since I’ve yet to hear anything from a human in months from this crap company me and all my YouTube friends and there are many will be making videos about this company. We hope to warn others from using it at all. Maybe they’ll want to talk once I start putting out vids to millions of ppl starting with my 360k subs just on YouTube. You guys have had many chances to do the right thing now it’s a campaign to out you. I will also be contacting the FEC and the US state dept and DOJ. There needs to be investigations into the millions these ppl are stealing from ppl.
Update 2/23/22 Coinbase bring it to whoever you want it doesn’t change the fact that you robbed me and probably thousands of others… A none response would have been better than that corporate dribble. What no offer to look at your automated hellscape to see if you could actually give me my crypto that you have taken from me? Or is that asking too much?

Coinbase Wallet Serious app issues. Users beware

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt this one was necessary to warn others. I have found 3 problems with this app: 1) Fees are MUCH too high. 2) Failed transactions still charge said high fees. 3) Customer service, while prompt, was useless. Explanations: 1) I have used many crypto wallets and I tried this one because they are a big name in the business. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that the miner fees they charge are very high in comparison to other wallets. Coinbase says that they are not in charge of the miner fees (and receive nothing), but I have found out through several tests (nearly simultaneous) that the fee for the exact same transaction is much lower on other wallets. I am not a crypto engineer so I don’t know why. I am just stating my research. 2) When I tried to earn interest on the app, I sent my SUSD to AAVE V1 THREE times and all three failed with an “out of gas” error on the blockchain. I did not lose my SUSD but I did lose over $350 in miner fees. I asked for a refund from customer service, but they said no because Coinbase doesn’t receive those fees. 3) I went back and forth with customer service several times over the failed transaction issue. At first, they wouldn’t answer my questions until I used the email I registered on my regular Coinbase exchange account. That is strange because they say on their website that a Coinbase account is not necessary to use Coinbase Wallet. I have a Coinbase account, so I was eventually ok, but what if I didn’t? Would they refuse to answer questions? When they finally answered my questions, the answer was useless. They only said that my fees couldn’t be refunded and directed me to a FAQ link which was wholly unhelpful for my issue. I specifically asked them WHY my transactions failed and how I could prevent that from happening again. They haven’t responded since that email (they *wereanswering daily), so my guess is they have no fix for the issue. That seems plausible because there is no way to change the gas limit on a trx to lend money to earn interest (note that I had enough ETH in my wallet to pay the miner fees). I am certainly not saying to avoid this app, but all potential users should be aware of these serious issues and choose wisely. Happy HODLing!

Update 15Jan’22: Customer service responded to my review but they still refuse to (or are unable to) answer the question which I have repeatedly asked: WHY did my three transactions fail and how can I make sure that doesn’t happen again so I don’t get charged outrageous miner fees for nothing? PLEASE answer this exact question.

Coinbase Wallet BEWARE!

Coinbase Wallet has a problem with Face ID login. It didn’t work on my IPhone iOS 14.7.1. Make sure you perform the 12 phrase ‘seed’ backup in case the Wallet app doesn’t work w Face ID like what happened to me. I setup the Wallet, linked my Coinbase Account, transferred my $3,700 in Ethereum, logged out and never have been able to log back in as Face ID now doesn’t work. Coinbase, very unfortunately, are seemingly trained to push back on their own application issues and try to make it your fault. Very disappointing to say the least. Since I didn’t backup w the 12 phrase seed yet ( I literally just setup the Wallet and was planning on doing later) they want to place the blame on me not doing that as the reason I cannot get my ETH back…Hmmm, well I don’t see how that’s pertinent since your applications Face ID is the problem here. Lesson learned and I’m telling everyone to please BACKUP YOUR APP IMMEDIATELY W 12 PHRASE SEED! This will save you from my dilemma. Oh and SHAME ON YOU COINBASE! Your application has problems. Specifically with Face ID on iPhone and it doesn’t work sometimes. Trying to say it was my fault is just poor business. But hey, you're a publicly traded billion dollar company so what do you care? Sad….

Update: The developers at Coinbase reply with their typical stock BOT answers and STILL take no responsibility for the fact their LOGIN ISNT WORKING CORRECTLY! It’s almost laughable except they are stonewalling me by trying to say it’s my fault. The 12 phrase seed is NOT FOR LOGIN! It’s clearly for LOST OR STOLEN PHONES. You’re telling me to access Coinbase Wallet I need to type a 12 word seed every time to get in the app?!? Really?!? Cmon Coinbase…really?!? Your App will not allow me to login…No Face ID login…this is your faults as developers. Not my fault. Check Reddit sub thread on Coinbase and you will find many like me or even worse…lol. Developer sending me to their Help page where they just regurgitate the same stock answers is par for the course with them…Deflect, say it’s your problem and do nothing to help. That’s why they are currently getting National press on their bad service and are robbing people of their $$. Ohh, and a class action lawsuit res just filed against them as well. I don’t expect them to help as they are obviously trained not to…so all I can do is go thru their formal complaint process and file a small claims court against them to recoup my $. Probably will get nothing but I will not back down! Also, posting here and telling the truth on what they do at least makes me feel better by venting. Sigh, I’m not a Karen, never post or review barely ever but this one is costing me good money….so I will at least be a thorn in their side…they don’t care and I’m resigned of that fact.

Coinbase Wallet Simply can’t afford the fees. Unexplainable losses

I wanted to like CB Wallet. I really did. I have given it every opportunity to be useful, but it just doesn’t work for me. I’ve had two different coins in my wallet for months now. I’ve tried converting them, exchanging them, staking them, and even just moving them from the wallet to Coinbase exchange. I can do none of the options I just mentioned. Moving coin from Coinbase to the wallet was as simple as you can imagine. Didn’t even cost me a fee. That is absolutely not the way it works going the other direction. Try to move coin into coinbase exchange and you’ll get the same exact thing you get trying to stake it or convert it. The miner fees are too high and you simply can’t afford it. So, it just sits there. What’s worse is, I tried to use their Dex browser to exchange, the exchange they recommended (matcha or something) took my ETH as a fee like it was going to exchange my coin, then literally did not make the exchange and told me I needed to deposit more ETH if I wanted to make a swap. Ultimately the exchange took at least $100 of ETH from me as a fee without even swapping. Somehow it ended up leaving me literally with $2 worth of ETH and $8 worth of LEASH. I know for a fact I had $150 worth of ETH and $100 worth of LEASH. Now, the balances are so low I can’t do anything with the weak amounts that are left in the wallet. The wallet doesn’t support LEASH and the ETH isn’t enough to cover even the most minute transaction. All it does is ask me to deposit more ETH while also disclosing that they are not responsible for miner fees. I swear it didn’t used to be like this. I used Coinbase and Coinbase wallet before they went public and I kept Bitcoin and a few others in my coinbase wallet. I could move them in and out without any issues. Never had the problems people seem to be dealing with now. I thought that the bigger CB got, the better they would be about taking care of their customers. Especially the ones like me who’ve been with them well before all of the other exchanges became billion dollar corporations. But it honestly seems like the bigger they’ve gotten, the less they’ve done to protect their customers, and I honestly think it’s sad. I do still use coinbase, but sparingly, and even then there are issues there, too. Their customer service seems to be non existent or too overwhelmed to truly be able to help. Either way, I have to absolutely recommend that you don’t use their wallet unless you want your money taken and then ultimately stuck in their wallet with literally no options on how to exchange it or move it without dumping more of your own personal money into it just to get it out. Sorry Coinbase. I hate to leave a bad review. I never review anything, but this warranted a bad review in my humble opinion. Ill change my review if I notice a fix that lets me move my coin out, but it’s such a small amount now that I wouldn’t even blame you for not concerning yourself with it. Please just read my review if nothing else and recognize the problems with regard to the miner fees and the potential theft in your Dex browser.

Coinbase Wallet Long Time User Turned Enemy

There was a time where I would of argued that Coinbase and their various app/platforms were one of the greatest things to happen to Crypto. This past year or so I have dealt with some a mix of issues on the various Coinbase platforms ranking from minor annoyances all the way to absolutely inexcusable. I don’t want to have to write another novel in order to cover all of these issues so I’ll only explain the most recent one in as short of a way as possible.

Purchased some ETC via Coinbase Wallet through my connected Coinbase account that I was then planning on moving elsewhere immediately. App told me that the transaction could take up to 3 minutes to complete. Yeah so it took almost FOUR WEEKS to complete and become available in my wallet. I have then spent the last TWO MONTHS attempting to move that ETC from my Coinbase Wallet to another wallet of mine. Every time I try it just stays saying “calculating fees”. It doesn’t matter which device I try or where I’m sending it to.

Here’s the best part though. Since the issue with acquiring the ETC up until now I have nonstop attempted to get their support. Sometimes when I reach out and I get a response from their support team and they ask for more info and I take the time yet again to break it all down in detail and then back to nothing from them. Other times I receive nothing at all from them to begin with. A couple times I broke everything down perfectly and provided every single bit of info they could possibly need and even included screenshots with labeling and annotations and everything and their support team would either provide links to irrelevant “support articles” or show such a lack of understanding for crypto and even their own platforms that I’m actually concerned. The concern is because what that showed me was that either Coinbase and/or members of their team are toying with me or that they legitimately lacked that much training/education and support within their own ranks or are into stealing from their users. I have found so many people with almost identical issues and they seem to be recent as well and no one has been able to get help or get it resolved or access the crypto they purchased and legally own. And the amount of people reporting the issue is growing.

I’ve attempted to get help from them using EVERY option I could find. When I say every i mean every. Including constant pings to their social media and even numerous subreddits on Reddit with them tagged (yes their official subreddits as well) to try and get someone’s attention.

With just this issue, the ETC that’s sat there and was never intended to sit there or even remain ETC has lost around 50% of ifs value (that was as of the other day. I haven’t checked it the last couple of days). Each of the other prior issues all resulted in massive losses as well. Fortunes lost. Yes I am aware of investing risk. I’m no novice to this industry or the digital landscape. I founded and run an award winning digital creative agency. I am not some random guy who is fuming because I lost all my money in a meme coin Or because I got scammed by someone who told me they could turn $200 into $10k within 18 hours.

Coinbase Wallet App is useless, LOST MONEY due to poor app quality

Was wanting to use usdc to trade for a new token. $20 would’ve gotten me around 50,000,000 of them if the app was working as it should and wouldn’t cancel my trade and ask me to confirm again and again. Before this had happened the Miner fee kept swapping from $50-100 so I ended up having to put in another $80 on ETC alone in the Coinbase app to then send to my Coinbase Waller app. the first time I thought the swap had went through it had already taken my ETC used for the miner fee and yet never managed to go through, now everytime when I try swapping for that specific token it never asks for a miner fee just to tap confirm, and when I do it doesn’t go through at all. After I emailed the team they apparently had an update coming up so I waited and today it finally updated. So I tried once more to swap, $22 USDC for now around 20,000,000 instead of the 50,000,000 I could’ve gotten but still better than missing out. But nope, still continues to ask me to confirm, when I tap to confirm it looks like it’s swapping until not even a second later asks me to confirm again, and it never goes through.

Coinbase Wallet WARNING: SCAM

THIS IS A SCAM. THEY STEAL YOUR CRYPTO. POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE EITHER BOTS OR FAKE.

According to the app, the miner fees are so high that I can not withdraw any crypto. So unless I pay them more then what’s in my wallet, I’m not allowed to access my money. For one crypto, I need to deposit 60x the crypto to cover the cost. They do allow you to lower the mind by fee but you sacrifice transfer speed. BUT, the transfer button doesn’t show up. This app is a scam and should be removed from the AppStore. They will steal you money. I’m guessing the high ratings are either people who never tried to withdraw or transfer crypto or bots.

Update 9/4

Please look into this scam Apple. They are telling me I need to pay 87,000% of the amount I want to transfer. It’s been months and I’m not allowed to withdraw any of my money because of this blackmail pricing. I have screenshots if Apple wants to contact me as there is no way to contact them.

Update 5/31/22

Still keep trying to get my money that they are holding ransom. Now they are only demanding 2x-11x the cost of the money to transfer it out. Not sure why Apple still allows these scammers to operate on the App Store.

Coinbase Wallet DO NOT TRANSFER YOUR FUNDS TO WALLET

I made the biggest mistake doing this because of the offer from coinbase to earn money if I used wallet. I thought I could earn interest just like I was on coinbase itself- but the ethereum fee was so high for this that I couldn’t even choose this option. I wanted to transfer my funds back to coinbase, but I “didn’t have enough to cover the ethereum fee”. To get my money out I had to literally deplete my bank account to get my funds back, and then when I went below zero, coinbase tried to run through a transaction 3 TIMES which cost me three times a 35 dollar NSF fee with my bank. All because I just did one simple thing and thought I would benefit from this wallet. Don’t even bother getting help from customer service either- I can’t tell you the amount of times I was redirected and had the session ended on me. Maybe what? 5 times? If you dont believe me, I have the transcript to show it. Also- I paid off my ‘insufficient funds’ that I owed to coinbase, GOT THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION FOR IT- AND THEN they charged me AGAIN and said I had another fee to pay- AND TRIED to run another transaction which resulted me in another 35.00 fee! I want my hard earned money back from you coinbase.

Coinbase Wallet The worst trading app ever written

Coinbase is one of the worst trading platforms I’ve ever used! You send a coin to there wallet and then in order to get it out to trade you get charged an exorbitant network fee of $60 or $70Depending on the coin you’re trying to transfer. If you’re going to trade bitcoin then trade through a reputable established trading house like Tastyworks. Coinbase offer absolutely zero meaningful customer support you can’t get a person to speak to about issues. Transferring your coins once trade it into the wallet will incur a very large network fee for a small trader this fee is crippling to your account .
If you are going to trade bitcoin you are far better off trading the micro bitcoin futures I can recommend tastyworks.com! I’m currently in the process of shutting down my coin base account I’ve tried the pro version which I found to be incredibly basic.
I have no idea why they called it the pro version it’s even less sophisticated than the basic coinbase program. You may be able to tell that I have not had a good experience at all with coinbase I’ve traded for 10 years futures, options stock, Forex and I’ve traded bitcoin futures and I’ve never come across a more convoluted program than coinbase!

Coinbase Wallet Scambase

Scambase took my first review down because I was brutally honest about my experience. My account was compromised within 3-4 days of starting it. I had two factor on too. They charged up my debit card $300 from 3am-3:45am until it finally declined. Would have been more if I kept more in that account. I still have every single email to prove it. They kept transferring from one crypto to another charging me about $50 in nonrefundable transfer fees. Then they put the remaining crypto (btc at this point) in a btcvault. But here’s the real kick in the nuts. They locked it with a signature from my email and some random email that’s not from any of the popular email services. I tried customer support with them saying it’s my fault and I’m the one who did all this. Luckily my bank refunded me the money, so I only lost the free sign up money they gave me. Don’t be a fool like me, and trust this joke of an app. I haven’t had a single breach in security before or after coinbase, so it feels kinda fishy. I know they launder money through coinbase. I wouldn’t be surprised if coinbase was selling your info, or flat out hacking accounts from the extra transfer fees. Either way I’d piss my money away before I give it to Scambase again

Coinbase Wallet Not a secure app, and basically no customer service

I made an account on this app about 10 months ago, but I pulled out of the stock market right before stocks fell on their face, and only recently got back into the stocks. When I tried to get back into my wallet account, it asked for a 6 digit passcode. I had my passcode written down in my notebook, so I KNOW it was the correct passcode. But the app would NOT accept the code. I tried getting in touch with the customer service, but they were unable to even find my account. I used this app HEAVILY for several months, I even have a few screen shots while I was using the app. The app would not open to any other screen besides the passcode screen, I spent a lot of time calling and emailing customer service to no avail. After I realized they were going to be NO help, I managed to overload my phone with open apps so that the wallet app ran very slowly, and somehow managed to hit a button before the passcode screen could load up. I used my same email, my same phone number, and the SAME username I had originally. Luckily I only had a few dollars left in my wallet, so I didn’t lose much money. But really, this app is obviously heavily glitched. I would hate for someone else to lose a REAL amount of money. I would suggest using a different wallet app, because this one is just too sketchy.

Coinbase Wallet Don’t send crypto to this wallet

I used coinbase wallet first time, wanted to buy some tokens that are not available on coinbase app, it offered to buy it through coinbase wallet and it was big mistake doing it. It costed 26.6$ only miner fee + coinbase fee to send 120USDC to wallet and when I tryed to exchange it to other crypto it asked for 41$ for another miner fee for exchange. I decided to send back to coinbase app and it costs 97$ now to send it back. Basically soon as coin is in wallet you are trapped. I have no Idea why would someone like this coinbase wallet and ETH. After I saw high fees decided to exchange it anyway and payed 41$ ETH in fees but nothing happened, nothing was exchanged but fee was charged anyways to miner. I wrote to support to understand what happened and this is what they wrote: You are paying for the computation, regardless of whether your transaction succeeds or fails. Even if it fails, the miners must validate and execute your transaction, which takes computational power. You must pay for that computation, just like you would pay for a successful transaction.
There is no warning of all this risks, nobody warns in advance, only after you get in trouble you learn your own lesson.
I will never use this wallet, will never use product that is build in ETH or has anything to do with ETH.

Coinbase Wallet Lost Money. No Responsibility. Lost Trust

Traded the partial Ethereum to be cashed out on Feb 23 and the transaction was declined twice to be deposited. Email alert came the Bank has rejected and how did that happen as bank was linked to withdraw then why issue with deposits. Anyways gave a day to see if it gets sorted out. Next day the entire balance is wiped out and gone. Support chat asked to login to computer and not the App to get Reports, downloaded it and sent along with the screenshots off the App with Balance before and after. They took an hour plus and said support will email. Next day generic email arrive and I again went to support chat and same process. Ultimately they rejected my request and said I have sent it to some other account. How is that possible on the App when nothing was done on my side. If so why nothing on Reports or email alert of such activity.
Then they said I should contact law enforcement and pursue nothing else can be done. Case closed.

Now here the funds are emptied out all the fees charged and left with absolutely 0000.00 Trust and ask all to be careful with this platform.
App is not working as it should and they will never acknowledge or take any responsibility what so ever. You are on your own.

Is that the way to create business and take money. How far will they go…

Quit before you lose all.

Coinbase Wallet Got Millions, Got Servive

Coin base is typically a very reliable service.
And I’m certain this application is as well. However, there are things you need to know before you use it or you might find yourself where I am spending money for nothing.

First of all, Bitcoin seems to be the universal converter, or so I thought…. I came to realize that you cannot use it in coin base wallet. It will not convert to other coins. But I didn’t know that at the time…

So I uploaded my Bitcoin, obviously costing transfer fees, and found I could not converted to any other coin! Fortunately, bitcoin transfer fees are reasonably low.

Upon further research and article reading I found out that you can only use Ethereum or polygon as converters. So, I decided to test it with $31 of Ethereum which got me $27 after transfer.

Step two, I chose to convert it to something else.

I was then notified that I did not have enough for the transfer. Well, how much is it going to be to convert this?

To convert my $27 worth of Etherium was going to cost me $167 worth of Ethereum!
Jaw drop

It’s not worth having this wallet unless you are willing to use tens of thousands of dollars to reduce transaction costs. On a smaller scale, just use a coin service like Binance.US that offers these coins.

I do not recommend this service. If you have coin base or coin base pro this application is pointless.

Coinbase Wallet Logged off and blocked

Coinbase wow it keeps you logged in unless you log out. For whatever reason I was logged out. I put in my 12 word recovery phrase and agree to the new wallet. I put the name of my wallet as the same name plus the number one after it creating a new wallet. When I first open the app it shows the name of both while it’s now. But it will only let me log into the one wallet that has nothing in it.The wallet that I want to get into is bypassed for some reason. It doesn’t let you choose what while you’re gone into and it has my recovery freeze is correct but it will not let me access the original wallet. For some reason this new wallet has $13 in it, my wallet has thousands of dollars in it that I cannot access. Or it is the same wallet and I lost thousands of dollars into the air somehow. I’ve tried to get support and given generic answers seemingly by a robot. My wallet is right there looking at me in my face but it will not let me have the option of logging into that wallet. I bet thisMight be a very easy fix but there’s no way to find out an answer to the simple question. There’s two hours but they’re forcing me into one of them over the other one. That is beyond frustrating. Maybe one day I can figure it out but it shouldn’t be this hard. I might be doing something wrong and if I’m wrong I’ll gladly change my review because it might be use an error.

Coinbase Wallet SCAM, WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY

Hello reader,

For little over a month now I have been trying to send approx $50 worth of bitcoin from my wallet to my Coinbase account. Each time it gives an error and says I don’t have enough in my account to cover fees to send it.

I have reached out to support, and they are extremely unhelpful. They do not read the email body, and have now replied with the same link to a help page on their website that isn’t even about my issue. I have provided many screenshots and have described in depth what my issue is, and there is no help to be found. This morning, I received the first email that was different than the last few. It said that it appears that I am attempting to send bitcoin on the ether blockchain, and as such will need to have ether to cover the fee.

This is false, as I am able to send $0.47 for a fee of $0.80 btc. But, nevertheless I suppose I will try purchasing ether on my Coinbase account, send it to the wallet, and try sending my btc back from there with ether to “cover the fees.” Purchased $10 of ether (.002) and when I attempt to send all of it to my wallet, I am met with an error that says the minimum amount I can send is .001. Note that I am attempting to send DOUBLE THAT AMOUNT.

TLDR: Coinbase support is useless, doesn’t actually read your emails or attempt to solve your problem, and the platform errors out with ridiculous issues any time you attempt to send crypto or cash out. This platform is a joke, DO NOT USE.

Coinbase Wallet Update 10/16

10/16
No change…money is still in the wallet can’t trade or send it. Deleting app once “gas” prices are low enough to transfer the funds.

10/14 Still can’t get that crypto I sent over to wallet because of “gas fees”. 10/13 First of all, everything with Coinbase always has some problem, and that preoblem always has to with accessing your funds once it gets anywhere near the multiverse of Coinbase. It’s like they hijack your crypto in the middle of your daily life when you attempt to do with business with them. That being said, I attempted to use my Coinbase card today, so I sold some crypto, changed it to USDC and sent it to my Coinbase wallet(first mistake because apparently you have to send it to the actual Coinbase app for it to reflect on your card.). Card was declined three times embarrassed. I found out about the aforementioned information while awkwardly waiting on the phone for customer service for about and hour. I looked it up and there was no information about this, I had to deduce it and see if it works. So now I have money I’ve sent to the wallet sitting there with about 5% shaved off. I sell some more crypto, send it to Coinbase. Wait around 30 minutes…oh customer service never answered. The money goes through I pay and voila. I get home to try to access the funds in the wallet to send back to my exchange…. Now Coinbase says I don’t have enough ETH GASS to send my money. I go in try to change the gas fees and it won’t let me… I’m still here…

Coinbase Wallet No assistance

My account was logged out without my knowledge or permission due to an update and I have not been assisted in anyway what so ever. I have attempted on multiple occasions to back up my recovery phrase but the application kept failing to do so, so I was not able to safety store the phrase within my iCloud. As a result I have not been able to successfully get back into my account for over 6 months. I have reached out to the support email, THREE separate occasions, and without any response to any of the emails, they closed my case and told me they simply could not help. The agreement that the users accepts DOES NOT exclusively state that Coinbase wallet does not save your recovery phrase, and I have yet to receive a response… The app is supposed to be fully functional and supportive but it clearly isn’t when you can’t back up your password, or log in to the account using an email and password like MetaMask… I have also read a ton of other reviews where this is an issue for hundreds (if not thousands) of other users, throughout Reddit and other public forums… The app had no indication it would log me out and it is the app developers responsibility to create a reliable app that is user friendly. Only being able to log in with a recovery key is not user friendly, and is a hazard to investors. Logging a user out without their permission, is also a hazard. I am looking forward to hearing a response and resolution in email. DO NOT USE THIS APP UNTIL THEY FIX THIS FUNDAMENTAL ISSUE!

Started using Coinbase and it was going well until I tried withdrawing from my wallet. First, they locked my account for no reason. Reached out to support and i did not get any response. Without the help of 𝔚𝔥𝔦𝔱𝔱𝔞𝔨𝔢𝔯-𝔞𝔰𝔰𝔦𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔢 i wouldn't have been able to get my funds back.

Finally gotten my money back from coinbase with the help of 𝐹𝒾𝒹𝑒𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓇𝑔𝑒𝒷𝒶𝒸𝓀,𝒸𝑜𝓂. I am so happy and grateful to this company, never thought I would have all my investments back. Coinbase is a scam creating company, and being out of their mess is a huge relief."
