I just opened my account with them. Today I look at my acct online and see they had charged me 2 overdraft fees of $35 each in the last week. But they declined both charges. So mu understanding first off was when I opened my acct I told her I didn’t want overdraft fees. Just decline charges if not enough money. Little did I know if they have to decline a charge they still charge $35 as if they covered the charge! One charge was $20 and they declined it yet turned around and charged me $35. Thrn when I call customer service they was rude and horrible and won’t refund at least one of the bogus charges. They stole my money and acted like they didn’t do anything wrong. This is the absolute worst bank I have ever in my life dealt with. I will be telling the whole world how absolutely awful they are. I’m a single mom just trying to survive and they just stole my money right before Xmas. And don’t even care. CROOKS. DO NOT BANK HERE!

I was charged an overdraft fee by Cobalt Credit Union, which my previous bank never did. Even though I have overdraft protection, they still won't refund my fee. They really should give me back my overdraft fee because I do have overdraft protection, and that's absolutely true.

I had a problem with Cobalt Credit Union. They closed my account without any warning. They told me there was a charge off on my account, but I had money in it. I never saw any negative charges, and they didn't send me a letter about closing my account or about the negative balance. It was really frustrating.

I set my loan up for payment through automatic funds. Because of Cobalt's error, a payment wasn't withdrawn. 2 weeks and 15 phone calls later, nobody could explain why this happened or fix it. To make matters worse, Cobalt reported the late payment on my credit report and won't do anything to fix it, even though it was their mistake.

Here's my problem. They kept sending me letters sayin' I don't got auto insurance, but my *** agent confirmed it three times. I even went to the bank myself and gave 'em all the insurance info. But today, I got another letter sayin' I still don't got auto insurance and they gonna add Collateral insurance to my loan. I wanna know my rights and if I can get a lawyer involved. I'm also gonna file a complaint with the state of ***. Thanks.

The overdraft fees at Cobalt Credit Union are way too high. I've been with them since they were SAC, and I've been struggling because of the pandemic. I reached out to them for help with the fees, but they didn't offer any solutions or show any real concern about my situation. Instead, they said they would transfer me to collections because I couldn't make a payment that day to bring my account up to date. This just made my situation even worse. I've lost hundreds of dollars to them while trying to pay my bills during this tough time.

I had an issue with Cobalt Credit Union when they changed my Automatic withdrawal and I missed payments as a result. To make matters worse, they charged me multiple times in one month for these "missed payments" that were actually caused by their mistake. This error on their part ended up affecting my credit report, which was completely unfair since it wasn't my fault. When I contacted the bank to resolve the issue and clear my credit report, they informed me that there was nothing they could do, even though I had already paid off the loan ahead of time.

Excessive Overdraft fees in the middle of a pandemic. I've reached out multiple times requesting the overdraft fees be reconsidered or reversed as I'm financially struggling to get through the Corona virus pandemic. They haven't offered any solutions and continue to charge me fees that are only making my situation worse. I've banked here since they were SAC and never came across the issue with them until they became Cobalt. I've heard of other institutions reversing fees and providing assistance to their customers, that just doesn't seem to be the case with Cobalt. I'm starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

I tried to open a checking account with Cobalt Credit Union online on 10/03. They sent me an email asking for more information to confirm my identity. On 10/06, I talked to a banker who asked me to upload a copy of my driver's license. They then said they couldn't open an account because there was an alert on my *** report suggesting potential identity theft. So, I got my *** report and there was no alert like that. They also said I would get a notice about the denial, but I haven't received it yet.

I used my federal stimulus payment to pay off a balance on a checking account that was closed and charged off. Unfortunately, I don't have access to this account anymore. Like many Americans, I've been struggling to survive during this pandemic. My checking account was charged off because of an overdraft. My stimulus payment was supposed to help me pay for a place to live, but the bank took it to cover the balance on an account that has always been charged off and that I can't access. I have been a customer at this bank for many years, and I still have a savings account there where the payment could have been deposited. It could have been returned to me so that I could use it for its intended purpose. I believe this is very unethical, and I feel sorry for others who are experiencing the same situation.

Cobalt Credit Union is a total mess! They have a terrible way of keeping track of their members. I just wanted some help with a question about a bank loan, so I talked to the Assistant Manager, Annie, to see if there were any notes about my previous conversations. She told me that the only notes they had were about a suspicious money order. I was worried and asked her what suspicious activity they were talking about. And you know what she said? "Oops! Those are probably just our secret notes about you that you're not supposed to see." Can you believe that? I felt so confused! So, because I bought a $money order instead of going to the grocery store and getting the same thing for ., I'm suddenly a suspicious person? And they actually pay their employees to keep tabs on loyal customers like me for almost *** years? This is definitely not the way I wanted to start my morning. Thanks a lot, Cobalt! I can't help but wonder if they keep secret notes on other people too.

On Friday, 9/23/2022, I wrote a check for $*** and deposited it into a *** account that I thought was my son's joint account with his wife. Within 10 minutes of doing this, my son called me and told me that I had deposited the check into the wrong account and asked that I put a stop-payment on the check as soon as possible. I immediately went over to the branch on *** in *** and asked them to put a Stop Payment on the $*** check. The person I spoke with (ended up being the branch manager) confirmed that the check had not yet processed through my Cobalt account, so she said there'd be no problem stopping payment on it. She repeated the check information back to me (check#, amount, who it was made out to, etc.) several times to confirm the information was correct, and then I was charged the $*** for this service. Since that day, I checked my account daily, just to ensure the check wouldn't clear. This morning (9/27/2022) I checked the account and saw that the check that was supposed to be stopped was actually processed and cleared yesterday, 9/26/2022. By doing so, this put my account into the negative and automatically subjected me to a $*** NSF Fee. I called the 1-800 CS line and the person I spoke with told me that the check had cleared because the check number that had been keyed into the Stop Payment had been keyed incorrectly. He also said that the only person who could address the issue was the person who keyed the Stop Payment at the branch I had been at (on ***). So I went there right away to speak with them. When I got there, I spoke with Mary Lou. She wasn't the one who I originally dealt with on the Stop Payment on Friday (the manager), but she said the best they could do was refund me the NSF Fee and MAYBE the Stop Payment Fee, but there was nothing they could do about refunding the $*** from my account, even though it was their error. The best they could do was an apology.
