Club Lime Membership

I was in a weekly membership at Club Lime and then stopped using Club Lime service since August 2023. I chose to pay my membership by week, despite that it would be cheaper to do it by month/year, because it promises greater flexibility. Yet it was only an illusion that Club Lime used to rip off its customers. When you want to exercise your right to terminate your weekly membership plan, you would find an absurd 4 week notice is required by Club Lime. Then in which way this is a weekly plan? It turns out absolutely a monthly plan disguised as a weekly one to charge a higher prices. What's more, even with the 4 week notice the cancellation has to be through an application that requires extra time to be processed. At Club Lime, the customer lost their right to make consumption decision freely at the moment they start the membership.

Even worse, unlike a monthly membership at Ubereats or Spotify membership, where if you pay for a month you get to enjoy the service for a month, at Club Lime, they stopped offering customer access to gym gate as soon as there is a balance in the account, yet they do not cancel one's membership in order to quietly double and triple exponentially the balance WITHOUT giving any services. The is how they charged me 300 Australian dollars without giving me access to gym over the last 6 months while I am not even in Australia. And cases like this happen at Club Lime everyday, I request them to change their policies and stop grabbing money from customers.

Club Lime Absolute worst gym membership - avoid at all costs

I signed up to this gym in 2022.

The buzzer never worked whenever I attended the gym and it was impossible to call anyone to rectify the situation outside business hours. Due to the lack of access, I could not attend the gym without the assistance of a friend. It eventually became such an issue that I stopped going to the gym and asked for my membership to be cancelled.

Despite my cancellation request and all my complaints, money continued to be debited from my card. So I cancelled my direct debit with the gym.

However, they continued to email me and message constantly with "outstanding fee" requests and it kept on increasing until it reached almost $800. In addition to all this they charged me several "dishonour fees" each time they sought a fortnightly payment, even though I couldnt even use the gym membership in line with what I paid for.

After several attempts to receive help, the online chat and the customer service people told me that nothing could be done other than put a temporary suspension on my membership.

I eventually just capitulated to the constant bombardment of emails and paid the full $800 just to get out of this terrible membership.

But it didn't end there!

They then told me that there was a "cancellation period" during which I would still have to pay normal membership fees! Absolutely disgusting! This is in circumstances where I had not used the gym for over a year and constantly asked for cancellation and suspension. They even had the audacity to say to me that unless I am "physically incapacitated" I would have to pay continuous fees until the cancellation period was done.

This gym makes it absolutely impossible to cancel memberships. They will suck you dry and they are completely inflexible. Avoid this gym at all costs.

Club Lime Gym membership

I signed up to lime gym 29th of May 2023 and there was a 3 week free offer.

Every time I went in the access wasn’t working, when I mentioned this to the staff they just buzzed me in. In addition to that I asked when my 3 weeks free would kick in but unfortunately no one could help.

With access not working it meant I couldn’t access gym outside of staffed hours.

Access not being registered also means that they have no record of me attending classes and should there be an emergency/accident I would not be accounted for.

After several attempts to receive help I put a hold on my back card in an attempt to have someone reach out. I have since spoke. To the online chat and the customer service is absolutely disgusting. I keep being told someone will contact me from Five Dock branch and no one does. I asked that membership be put on hold till issue is rectified and I have been directed to the member portal as they do not accept requests in writing. I have attempted to get on the blind portal with no success and have also notified them.

In addition to all this they have charged me a dishonour fee of about $10 for not making payment although I can’t use the gym membership in line with what I have paid for.

Further to this I’m expected to pay $2.50 to have the membership put on hold and till now still can’t get on the portal.

So essentially I’m paying for a membership I can’t use and receiving no help to rectify this.

I have since googled like gym reviews only to find that there are 100’s of people with complaints in regards to service, taking money without providing a service, unclean locations and making people pay by making it impossible to cancel memberships.

Desired outcome: Initially I wanted to just fix the issue and continue my membership. But as this goes on it’s just getting worse. After reading reviews and realising how many people are being scammed I want nothing to do with this gym.
