Checkpeople Mixed Experiences with Checkpeople, LLC

As someone who has explored the services offered by Checkpeople, LLC, I must say that my experience has been quite mixed. On one hand, the platform provides a convenient way to access public records and conduct background checks, which can be useful for various purposes. However, there are significant concerns regarding the transparency and billing practices of the company. Some users have reported unexpected charges, difficulties in canceling subscriptions, and issues with the accuracy and timeliness of the information provided. It is essential to approach the services offered by Checkpeople, LLC with caution and carefully review the terms and conditions before engaging with the platform.

Checkpeople Wonderful marketplace

I started my own small business of buying and reselling items on Facebook marketplace. I browse online for good items and when I know I can resell it at a better price I turn to Check People to look up this individual first before reaching out to set up an in person meeting. It lets me know in advance that this person is legitimate and honest before even contacting them. Then if the negotiations go through, I don't even need to hesitate to go and meet them or worry about my safety because I've already used Check People to come up with the important information I needed in advance about that person.

Checkpeople I found someone so dear to me through this service!

I found someone so dear to me through this service! We hadn't been in touch since high school, and I thought I would just look online to see if I could find him, and checkpeople helped me to narrow down the search and pinpoint the exact person I was looking for. Although I was hesitant to use the site at first, I read some reviews and decided to take a leap of faith and try my luck. So happy I did. I don't think I would have been able to find this person without using checkpeople. If you're hesitating at all, take my word for it, it works! Now I'm going to look up all my old dear friends and try to reconnect.

Checkpeople First delivery

I'm new to this campus and I'm staying with a friend for now but am going to start interviewing possible roommates soon. I'm always about meeting up with a stranger at Starbucks, so I started to use Check People to search the person first to be sure I knew all I could find out about them in advance. I always look them up n Facebook or Instagram first, but Check People gives you so much more information in advance that I can filter out anyone I don't need to go meet. Saves me a lot of time and wasted energy meeting up with people I could have ignored based on their results. Would suggest this site to anyone looking up anyone.

Checkpeople Great customer service

I was recently looking for someone close to me whom I lost touch with many years back. I came across Check People through a simple google search and had some questions about their services. I had to call the customer service line and was promptly greeted by a young friendly lady who took her time answering my questions and addressing my concerns. Although I was originally reluctant to sign up and try the site, I ended up giving it a go. It was very easy to use and I was able to find the individual I was looking for very fast. The site offered extra information which was all correct to my knowledge as well. Great results and great service!

Checkpeople Truthful

This site is very easy to navigate and use. I've tried different websites and this is really want sets it apart. I use this site often because I buy and sell second hand cars. Sometimes the deals I find are too good to be true so I use Check People to be sure the person I'm dealing with is legit and everything he or she says is truthful. The results give me the peace of mind I look for in determining if the sale is going to be worth it or not to meet up with people ahead of time. Both buyers and sellers can be looked up and I'm definitely going to be keeping this account due to the ease of their site as well as the accurate and quick results it provides.

Checkpeople Amazing Service

From a user experience level, this site is extremely efficient and easy to use. It is straightforward and the results are clear and concise. They are clear about what the results will read and the billing associate to the different subscription options. If you have any questions, just call their toll free number and they're pretty helpful. I only came across one run in which I needed to address with someone and it was very easy to rectify. They answered my call right away and were knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend upgraded to the premium option depending on your needs and use of their system. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience using this website.

Checkpeople Great Customer Service

I was getting ready to send my wedding invites and noticed my fianc? was really slacking on getting his portions of the addresses. He felt awkward asking friends and family for their addresses and even more weird asking colleagues who he didn't know THAT well but still wanted them at the wedding. I read on a wedding blog that another bride used check people for this reason and I thought HOW BRILLIANT! You know their names and cities where they leave, save the awkward conversation and find the address information yourself! I was able to find everyone I was looking for and got all the information and address information needed to send my invites without hassling my finance or guests! Really smart and I'll be sure to share this with other soon to be brides.

Checkpeople Other reviews scared me, but I had a great experience

My husband and I used this site to check out his fathers very shady past. We were nervous at first, and during!, because our credit card company gave us an alert asking if it was us... meaning its a flagged site by credit card companies. When we finished looking through the information, I sat down with the phone and prepared myself to wait on hold for 7 hours and finally battle out a cancellation with someone in another country. I went into complete shock when a total sweetheart answered with her thick southern accent and quickly helped me cancel my account in less than 5 minutes. At this time I am not sure if my account was charged extra fees or not, but so far everything seems okay! I will update my review if my credit card ends up getting hacked/scammed!

Checkpeople Best

Here is an honest review of the tool. First, from a customer experience standpoint, the site is extremely easy to use and efficient. From the moment you land on their site, everything is quite clear. The search functionality is very easy to use and extremely efficient. Results are accurate and well presented. Originally I didn't understand the billing system (maybe that could be slightly clearer) however if you read it through a few times, you get it. I took the basic subscription, however after using it quite a few times and having a need to use it more frequently, I'm considering upgrading. I plan to call in to get a better understanding of what's included in the premium subscription, however I think that with my use it will make more sense for me. All in all, I'm happy with the product and its results. Would refer it.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Overcharged and Poor Customer Service

I wouldn't recommend using Check People for background searches. I had a bad experience with them on November 24th when I tried to do a background search on a potential roommate. They charged me twice, once for $7.00 and again for $29.16, which was an overcharge of $28.00. When I called to dispute the charge, the first representative I spoke to couldn't find my order. I called back the next day and spoke to a different representative who found my order and acknowledged the mistake. They claimed that there was a problem with their billing system.

I had already filed a claim with PayPal by this point. The representative from Check People told me that I needed to close the claim and that they would refund me the money once they were notified by PayPal. It's been over a week now, and I closed the claim with PayPal. I received notice that the dispute had been closed from PayPal.

I just got off the phone with a representative named Tianti (rep # ***) in the California office. She claimed that I now needed to get PayPal to call them to say that the dispute had been closed. However, PayPal considers the matter closed because I closed the dispute.

In my opinion, this company is a rip-off and I wouldn't recommend using them.

Checkpeople Disappointing Experience with Check People: Outdated Info and Terrible Customer Service

I signed up for Check People in January of 2022 and was excited to start searching for some old friends and relatives. I used the service for a couple of months but then forgot about it and didn't use it for a while. When I saw the charge on my bank statement in April, I decided to cancel my subscription.

I called customer service to cancel and was offered a couple of other subscriptions for different prices, but I declined because I found the information to be extremely outdated. The gentleman on the phone canceled my subscription and told me I would have access until May 8th.

A few days later, a friend came over and was looking for a phone number for one of their friends. I went to the Check People website to look it up, but I didn't have access. I called customer service again and they told me I had to email the service department for assistance. I did as they instructed and received a response saying that I had been banned for breaking the rules!

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked them to explain how I broke the rules and they gave me some BS reason. I told them that it was funny that I didn't have a single issue until I canceled the service. Eventually, they processed a refund for the full amount, but I'm still waiting to hear how I broke the rules.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Check People. The information was outdated and the customer service was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone and I will never use it again.

Checkpeople Check People Background Check Review: Limited Information and Inaccuracies

So, I was curious about what kind of information a background check would reveal about me, and I decided to give Check People a try. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the results.

First off, they did have my full name, which was a good start. However, they didn't have my phone number, which was a bit surprising. Instead, they had my mother's email listed as my own, which was definitely incorrect.

They did have my current and previous addresses, which was accurate, but they didn't know much else about me. They didn't have my date of birth, height, gender, hair or eye color, race, or language. This was a bit concerning, as I would expect a background check to have at least some of this basic information.

They did list one speeding ticket from 2012, which was accurate, but they didn't know anything about my job history or education history. They also didn't know anything about vehicles I've owned in the past or present, which was surprising.

One thing that was a bit odd was that they listed social media friends and family members of social media friends as "possible associates". For example, they listed the dad of an Xbox Live friend as a possible associate, even though I don't know him at all.

Overall, I didn't feel like I learned much from the background check. They didn't know anything about my social media profiles or usernames, and they didn't have any information about my business affiliates or certifications. They also didn't know anything about licenses, whether they be driver's licenses or other types.

The only real piece of information that I found useful was the speeding ticket from 2012 that was still on my record. Other than that, I didn't feel like I gained much insight from the background check.

Checkpeople Check People: The Ultimate Background Check Resource for Informed Decisions

I gotta say, this website is a lifesaver for me. I use it all the time for my job to check out potential employees. The reports they give are pretty detailed, with all sorts of info like names, family members, cities, and even some criminal history. It's really helpful to have all that info in one place so I can get a good idea of who I'm dealing with.

What's really great about this site is how easy it is to use. I just type in the name of the person I'm interested in and the city they're from (if I know it). The site does the rest and gives me all the info I need. If I don't know the city, I can still find the person I'm looking for by browsing through the list.

Overall, I think Check People is a fantastic resource for anyone who needs to do a background check. It's quick, easy, and gives you all the info you need to make informed decisions. I highly recommend it!

Checkpeople Captivating and Heartfelt: A Review of The Kite Runner

Don't get scammed like many others. I was helping a find who wanted to run a background on her new boyfriend. We found checkpeople and thought that $1 was good. When I got my statement from the bank I was charged $29.17 and didn't say anything because I figured we missed something. I will be the first to admit I do not look closely at my statements but will now. I done this check in May and have been charged $29.17 for the last 7 months and I had no idea. I never went back to the site. I called immediately when I noticed this on my cards and can say they got me. I went back to the site and couldn't find where this says its a monthly subscription but it is buried in a hyperlink below the very very small writing below where you put your credit card info. The link says "BILLING TERMS" and is in blue. When you click on the hyper-link it actually comes up in normal size that a human can actually read unlike the writing that tells you how to get this information. BEWARE! I ask for a refund and it was denied. Yes, I accept that this was partly my fault that I didn't check my account but this is dishonest! I tried to attach a picture showing where to find this info but the photo is too large. When you get to the screen where you put your credit card info below is a box that you must check that says "By clicking "VIEW MY REPORT". Go to the second to last sentence and you will see "BILLING TERMS" which is in blue. Click on this which will take you to the terms that says this is a monthly subscription of $29.17 per month. BE CAREFUL AND DON"T FALL VICTIM!

Checkpeople Beware of Check People: My Frustrating Experience with Their Pricing and Policies

I recently stumbled upon Check People, which was ranked as the number one site by Google for 2022. Intrigued, I decided to sign up for their 5-day free trial, which only cost me a dollar. However, as I hit the "continue" button, I noticed a $6.99 charge, which I tried to back out of, but it was too late. Despite the unexpected charge, I figured it was only $7.99, and the site promised that it would be the only charge I would ever have to pay.

But then, to my surprise, my account was suspended for allegedly violating one of their rules. I was confused because I was simply trying to check myself out, and I had provided all the necessary information, including my name, email, and credit card details. I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong.

To make matters worse, I checked my bank account and saw that Check People had charged me $6.99 and an additional $29.15. However, they had reversed the $6.99 charge and the $29.15 charge was not their regular monthly subscription fee. I immediately called my bank, and they told me that they had declined the $6.99 charge and automatically reversed the $29.15 charge.

After this experience, I decided that I never wanted to use Check People again. I was disappointed that they had advertised a $1 trial, but then tried to charge me more than $29.15. I felt like they were trying to scam me, and I didn't want to risk any more unexpected charges.

I also wondered who had recommended Check People as the number one site for 2022. I was skeptical of their ranking and didn't want to trust any future recommendations from them or Consumer Reports.

Overall, my experience with Check People was frustrating and disappointing. I would caution others to be wary of their pricing and policies.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Hidden Costs and Subscription Model Disappointing

I recently used Check People to get a report on one person. The website advertised that it would only cost me $1, which seemed like a fair price. However, when I checked my bank account later, I saw that I had been charged $6.99. I was confused and thought it might be for a subscription, even though I never saw anything about a subscription on the website. I wasn't too worried at first and planned to call customer service to find out more.

But then, when I checked my account again, I saw that I had been charged an additional $29 by Check People. In just two days, my total charges had gone from $1 to $40. I knew I needed to call customer service right away to stop any more charges from happening.

The person I spoke to at customer service was helpful and was able to refund the $29 charge. However, he told me that the $6.99 charge was not refundable because it was for a PDF option that I had apparently agreed to. I was confused because I never saw anything about an extra charge for a PDF option. The customer service representative told me that I must have missed it, but I know I didn't.

To make matters worse, it turns out that I had inadvertently signed up for a subscription, even though I never saw anything about it on the website. I couldn't find any information on my account about the subscription or how to cancel it, so I had to ask the customer service representative to cancel it for me.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Check People. The website was not transparent about its costs or its subscription model, and I ended up spending much more than I had intended. Additionally, the information I received from the report wasn't even very good. If someone isn't secretive, you could more than likely find the same information on social media for free.

In conclusion, I would not recommend Check People to anyone. The company needs to be more honest about its service and its costs, and it should make it easier for customers to cancel subscriptions if they no longer want them.

Checkpeople Check People Review: False Information and Sneaky Charges

So, I was on Check People's website and it said I had 10 minutes to use a coupon to view a full background check for only $1. I was excited because I wanted to find out what convictions were on my boyfriend's record so he could inform his employer. But, after waiting for 5 minutes for the website to load, I was a little skeptical. I scrolled up and down to try to see the fine print or the catch and/or terms, but I couldn't find anything. I assumed it was probably for the first month only, so I decided to go for it and make sure I cancelled it before it renewed at full price. I pressed okay and gave my card info. But, to my surprise, I was instantly charged $29.17. And then, when I looked at the PDF to view the actual report I wanted to see, it charged me another $6.99. I was not happy about that.

A few days later, I finally got a chance to cancel the account. But, you can't just cancel online, you have to call and sit on hold for 10 minutes to be able to cancel the subscription. When I finally got through, I was told that I had 3 days to cancel it or I'd be charged the full amount. And then, I was told if I wanted to view the PDF of the report, I had to pay for that convenience also. They said I could've just gone to the courthouse and got that information if I wanted to. I was so frustrated. I just wanted to do one background check, and now I was being charged all this money for false information.

The charges that this website showed on my boyfriend's background check were false. Half of them were charges that had nothing to do with him. They said these reports are an educated guess based on computer algorithms when provided a name and date of birth. So, the whole thing was a waste of time and money. They didn't refund me any of my money, all they did was try to talk me into keeping my subscription but for a lower monthly rate. I would never use this site again. There are plenty of other websites that provide the same service and clearly tell you what you're going to be charged and why. It's the sneakiness that pisses me off. Tell me what you're going to charge me up front and let me decide if I want to spend that.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Limited Information, Hidden Charges, Not Worth the Money

So, I signed up for the "unlimited" search and report trial on Check People (checkpeople.com) for $4.99, which seemed like a reasonable price. However, I quickly realized that if I wanted to use any of the supposedly included features, I would have to pay additional charges. This was a bit frustrating, as I thought I was getting a good deal.

Another issue I had with Check People was that they didn't seem to have access to much basic information that I needed for my investigation. I was hoping to find criminal history and current social media profiles, but instead, I only got lists of potential email addresses and sex offenders in the area. While this information wasn't completely useless, I could have found it for free on other sites.

It seems like Check People makes most of their profit from the first 24 hours of the "unlimited" trial, as they charge for additional services that aren't actually included. I admit that I didn't read the fine print carefully enough, but it would have been nice if they were more upfront about these charges.

When I contacted customer service about the issue, they seemed embarrassed and admitted that the pertinent information "doesn't always show for the customers." While I appreciated their honesty, it was frustrating to have wasted my time and money on a service that didn't deliver what it promised.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Check People to anyone looking for a comprehensive background check. While their website looks flashy and impressive, it's really just smoke and mirrors. Save your money and look elsewhere for a more reliable service.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Limited Access and Hidden Charges

So, I decided to give Check People a try and signed up for their "unlimited" search and report trial for $4.99. Seemed reasonable, right? Well, let me tell you, I was in for a surprise. As soon as I tried to use any of the features that were supposed to be included, I was hit with additional charges. Not cool, Check People, not cool.

But that's not even the worst part. Unlike other background check sites, Check People has very limited access to basic and publicly available information like criminal history and social media. I mean, come on, that's the kind of stuff you need to make informed decisions about the people you're investigating. Instead, all I got were lists of potential email addresses and a list of sex offenders in the area. Sure, that information might be somewhat useful, but you can get it for free from other sites.

I guess I could use the email addresses to search for more information on other background check sites, but why bother when Check People is clearly just trying to make a quick buck off of unsuspecting customers? I'm pretty sure they make most of their profit from people accidentally purchasing additional services that they think are included in the "unlimited" trial. And don't even get me started on the fine print buried in the Terms of Service. I skimmed it twice before checking the box, but apparently, that wasn't enough to avoid the extra charges.

The customer service reps at least had the decency to sound embarrassed about it, but even they admitted that the pertinent information "doesn't always show for the customers." Um, excuse me? That's kind of a big deal, don't you think? I didn't even bother trying to get my $12 back for the useless reports I pulled up in the first 20 minutes of using the trial. Lesson learned, I guess. Don't be fooled by the flashy graphics and status bars on Check People's site. They won't give you anything except a bigger debit from your payment method.

Checkpeople Terrible Experience with Check People: Misleading Information, Overcharging, and Spam Mail

My experience with Check People was absolutely terrible and I'm still paying for it. I was looking for information on a specific person and I found them on Check People's website. The website claimed that the person had two criminal charges, so I decided to sign up for the $1 intro offer to see the full report. However, when I opened the report, there were no criminal charges listed for this person. I felt like I had been tricked into signing up for the service.

To make matters worse, I was charged $27 instead of the $1 that was advertised. On top of that, I was charged an additional $6.99 for a PDF of the report. I was not happy about this at all.

But the worst part of my experience with Check People was the spam mail that I started receiving within hours of giving them my information. I haven't received this kind of spam mail in years, and it was really disgusting. I reached out to Check People to ask them to remove my email from their list and to stop selling my information, but it's been over a month and I'm still receiving spam mail.

Overall, I would not recommend Check People to anyone. The website is misleading and the service is not worth the money. Plus, the spam mail is just a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and look for information elsewhere.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Inaccurate Information and Fraudulent Charges

I decided to give Check People a try to find out if my business associate has a criminal record. I paid $4.99 with my credit card and received some information. I'm not sure if it's accurate or not, but I do know that they charged my card without my permission!

The next day, my credit card company alerted me about a suspicious international charge. I tried to contact Check People's customer service for almost an hour. Finally, I got through and gave them a piece of my mind. The representative had the nerve to ask me if I wanted a discount on the fraudulent charge! Are you kidding me? How about you refund the $49.99 you stole from me before I call the police? I had to close my credit card account and report the incident to my bank. If they don't refund my money soon, I will file fraud charges against them. I'm so sick of these online scammers!

Checkpeople Check People Review: Deceptive Pricing and Questionable Information

and I'm not the only one. Many people have fallen victim to Check People's deceptive pricing tactics. It's important to read the fine print and be aware of what you're signing up for before entering any payment information.

Aside from their pricing practices, the information provided in the reports is also questionable. Some of the information is outdated or inaccurate, and there have been cases where people have found false information about themselves on the site. It's important to take any information found on Check People with a grain of salt and verify it through other sources.

Overall, I would not recommend using Check People. Their pricing practices are deceptive and the information provided in the reports is not always reliable. It's better to use a more reputable and transparent background check service.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Hidden Charges, Inaccurate Information, and Poor Customer Service

I recently tried out Check People and I have to say, I was disappointed. There were hidden charges that I wasn't aware of and the information I received was often incorrect. In fact, some of the information about me was completely false, which could potentially harm my reputation if someone were to use their service to look me up.

Furthermore, the service was missing a lot of important information about the people I searched for. I gave them a chance and tried looking up other people, but the same issues persisted. I decided to cancel my subscription a few days later and requested a refund, but they ignored my messages.

After several days, I was finally able to get in touch with someone named Steve. He was nice, but unfortunately, he couldn't do anything to help me. Even worse, they only offered me a 50% refund because I had kept the service for a few days. I was frustrated and told him that I would be leaving negative reviews on every site I could find because I felt like I had been scammed.

Overall, I would not recommend Check People. They seem more interested in taking your money than providing accurate information. If you're looking for a legitimate background check service, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Checkpeople Check People Review: False Promises, Hidden Fees, and Fraudulent Charges

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Check People. They promised free public information, but as soon as I signed up, they asked for my credit card info. I thought I was only paying a $1 sign up fee, but then my bank texted me about fraud. Check People had tried to transfer $7 out of my account without my permission! What the heck? They didn't even explain why they were taking money from me. I looked up some reviews on BBB and apparently it gets even worse. They try to keep you from cancelling your account so they can charge you almost $50 every month for services you didn't even want! I reported them to the BBB and I'm blocking them from any further charges. Don't waste your time or money on Check People.

Checkpeople Misleading Charges and Difficult Refunds: A Review of Check People

The charge for Check People is not presented clearly, which can be frustrating for users. The charge is hidden in small text towards the bottom of the page, which can be easily missed. The gold block that contains the charge is not a common color associated with warning or alarm, which can be confusing for users. Gold is often associated with wealth or luxury, which can be misleading.

The clickable link that charges users is a large, green button that does not mention anything about a charge. This can be misleading for users who are not aware of the charge. Clicking the button does not give users the option to allow their card to be charged, which can be frustrating.

Requesting a refund can be difficult and exposes some concerning matters about the charging process. The website claims that users have to accept the $6.99 charge, but the button reads "CONTINUE? YES, I WANT PDF REPORT ACCESS!" in large, readable letters. This can be misleading for users who think they are agreeing to access the report, not agreeing to pay for it. The button assumes that users are agreeing to pay for the report, which can be frustrating for users who did not intend to pay for it.

Multiple calls for a refund have not been successful, which can be frustrating for users who feel they have been misled. It is important for websites to be transparent about charges and to make it clear to users what they are agreeing to pay for. Users should not have to go through a difficult process to request a refund, especially if they feel they have been misled.

Overall, Check People can be a frustrating experience for users who are not aware of the charges. It is important for websites to be transparent about charges and to make it clear to users what they are agreeing to pay for. Checkpeople Check People Review: Fraudulent Company with Inaccurate Information and Hidden Fees

These guys are really bad news. They promised me a trial for just 4.99, which sounded like a great deal for unlimited reports. But then they went and charged me 7.00 just to download the PDFs. What a rip-off!

And the information they provide is just plain wrong. They claim to have current addresses and phone numbers for people who have been dead for years. And they list complete strangers as "associates." It's like they're just making stuff up!

To make matters worse, they make it really hard to cancel your subscription. And even when you do manage to cancel, they still charge you for another month. I cancelled on June 23rd, but they still charged me 49.99 on the same day. When I complained, they tried to convince me to keep the service at a discount. But I said no way! I don't want anything to do with their fraudulent company.

I had to notify my bank and cancel my card just to get the charge stopped. It's been a real hassle.

So take my advice and stay far away from Check People. They're nothing but crooks and con artists.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Fraudulent Billing Practices for a Junk Service

So, we decided to give Check People a try for a background search. We thought we were only paying for a one-time use, but boy were we wrong. The report we received was terrible and didn't tell us anything we couldn't find on a basic Google search. We only looked at the report once and never visited the website again. Little did we know, when you pay for one report, they automatically sign you up for monthly drafts of $29.16.

I called their customer service and spoke to a representative who told me that the information about the monthly drafts was in the terms and agreements that we agreed to. When I asked him to send me the terms and agreement that I signed and agreed to, he told me that he couldn't send them to me. He said that because he had my email address, that was "enough proof" that I had agreed to terms that he couldn't even provide to me.

While I was on the phone with the representative, I could hear another representative in the background giving the same bogus response to another unhappy customer. It's clear that Check People has fraudulent billing practices for a junk service. We will never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone.

Checkpeople Check People Review: False Advertising and Overcharging Customers

So, I heard about Check People and decided to give it a try. They promised me that if I signed up, I would get access to any search in just 10 minutes. And if I didn't cancel, it would cost me $29.16 per month. Sounded like a good deal to me, so I agreed and pressed submit. But guess what? They didn't take $1 from my account, they took $29.16! I was so disappointed. They said in about 10 different places, including their billing terms, that only $1 would be deducted. But they were obviously lying.

I was going to get paid later that day, but I had only $5 on my card, so I thought I would try it out. However, my card kept getting declined. So, I pulled up my bank info and found out that they were trying to deduct $29.16. Thank goodness it was declined! That's such crap. I would not recommend doing business with them. Who knows what else they will lie to you about and charge you with?

But then, I decided to read the terms of service, and I found out that they actually charge you with more than one service fee when you sign up. So, I guess they do tell you in the fine print. But regardless, they still false advertise when they tell you that only $1 will be deducted from your card.

Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience with Check People. They promised me one thing and delivered another. I would not recommend using their services.

Checkpeople Check People Review: Deceptive Charges and Poor Customer Service

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience on Check People. I thought I was getting a great deal when I signed up for just a dollar, but boy was I wrong. Next thing I know, I've got a charge for 30 bucks on my account! I was pretty ticked off, so I decided to give them a call and see what was going on.

When I finally got through to someone, there was a baby crying in the background and it was hard to hear what the woman was saying. I told her that I thought what they were doing was dishonest and that I wanted my money back and my account cancelled. After some back and forth, she finally agreed to refund my money, but not before trying to offer me all sorts of discounts and deals. I mean, come on, if I don't trust you enough to give you my money in the first place, what makes you think I'm going to change my mind now?

Anyway, I got my refund and thought that was the end of it. But a few days later, I saw another charge from them on my account for a dollar. I was pretty annoyed, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of calling them again. So I replied to the account confirmation email and put in a support ticket. It took them a full 24 hours to get back to me, which was pretty frustrating.

If you're thinking about using Check People, just be aware that it might not be as great as it seems. And if you do end up having issues, make sure you know about their secret email address (***@checkpeople.com) because it might be the only way to get in touch with them.

Checkpeople They took money from my check acct

They took money from my check acct.without my permission. They took $ 34.48 & they were to take $1.00. They refund $29.16 but it should be $33.48. I emailed them to try to locate someone. I was told that I was going to cost $1.00 for the search. At no time was there mentioning of any other money. I paid with my debit card. I called my bank after getting off the phone with them Tuesday night 5/12 and that is when I fought out they took $ 2.33 ,$ 2.99 & $ 29.16. When I called them back I was told that they would refund $29.16 but not the $ 5.32. They never took the $ 1.00 out that I was told they were going to take out. This to me is unethical & I told the woman I spoke to that. She had the nerve to ask if I wanted to continue the search. I told her I wanted nothing to ever do with this company. Every since 5/13 around 1:32 am is when I called back they have been sending me text messages to continue the search. I have not responded to any of their texts & I never will. They still have $ 4.32 of my money & want it back. Nobody has the right to just take money from them without there permission. This is about principle to me. Should they decide not to refund my money I will go to social media to let other people know about this company how they treat people. I was not given a acct with them. I had never contacted them before. They were absolutely no help at all. They had that person address listed when they lived there in 1980's or 1990's. My bank is*** BANK.

The site claims the charge will be $1, but I received an additional, unexplained, charge of $29.17. There is no way to see on their website what this charge was for, if it will repeat, cancel my account (I did not agree to a subscription), or remove my credit card information from the website. This is theft, plain and simple.

Checkpeople Hidden Subscription It's exactly the scam you assume it is

Hidden Subscription It's exactly the scam you assume it is. They tell you it's only X amount for a single background check and 4 days later they hit your account again for another larger price and claim you agreed to a subscription. I didn't give them my name. I didn't give them my real email address. I didn't create an account. I have no way to login or cancel. I declined the one extra fee they did disclose, $8 in order to download a PDF. I paid $4.99 for a background check to help family in a divorce from her abusive spouse. Four days later I get an email from PayPal that CheckPeople has charged me $29.16 out of the blue. Mind you, CheckPeople offers no information on their pricing upfront. That's an inherent admission that far more people would browse away w/o making any purchase if they knew to expect a followup subscription charge. And from my searching, I don't think CheckPeople even offers a $4.99 + $29.16 plan. I had used PayPal *becauseI know these companies are sleaze and believed PayPal would side with me if there were shenanigans like this. They've denied my dispute because CheckPeople insists I agreed to the subscription. I should have known better because PayPal has a similar scam with their credit card. It's a minor holiday, so my bank isn't open at present. I'll be contacting them again tomorrow and closing my PayPal account. I hope the people behind these scams enjoy the $29.16 while it lasts. What a cheap price at which to sell your integrity. Thanks for piling onto a family in crisis.

Used this website once for 1 free search then they started charging my credit card 29.17 per month for a subscription I never subscribed to. I called [protected] to cancel they assured me I would be credited, but they continue to charge me monthly. I have requested my credit card to block any further charges and disputed the March 15th, and April 15th 2022 charges. This place make unauthorized charges and it's an ongoing scam

I made one purchase from this company on 23 Sept 2020 for $6.99. It was a "one-time access fee" so I could see why this company had my personal information (which I do not consent to them selling). Unbeknownst to me, they continued to charge my credit card with a $29.17/month charge for a "subscription" despite them not providing me with any receipts or payment confirmations, totaling $554.19 before I caught it. They agreed to refund me $204.19 but they still got $350 from me. They've refused to refund any more.

Checkpeople My situation is very similar to all the other complaints I read, but with a twist

My situation is very similar to all the other complaints I read, but with a twist. According to what the web page told me I was paying a 1-time fee of $6.99 for one report. I got my report in .pdf form only to find a document with dozens of metrics that were all 0s. I literally got nothing but a bunch of 0s for my money. This I could handle, but then it got even more ridiculous when I found two charges of $4.99 and $29.17, in addition to the initial charge of $6.99, for a total of $41.15 charged to my account - for a blank document! For these reasons I feel I deserve a full refund of $41.15. In addition to all that, by reading Complaintsboard.com complaints, I found out that the site pirates your personal information and adds it to their database, and I would like any of my information they might have completely removed from their site. As I said, this is ridiculous at best, and criminal at worst. I am getting really tired of people that run websites taking money they don't deserve under false pretenses, and with the amount of complaints this company has, I think, since this happens to me on an almost monthly basis, that they should be forced out of business and charged for misuse of their customer's financial information. There are far too many sites that cry "glitch" or "mistake" when this happens, which begs the question, when are too many "glitchs" or "mistakes" enough to warrant criminal charges of theft being filed? It's getting so I don't want to do anything involving money online. Sites such as Checkpeople are ruining the internet.

I would like for my personal information to be removed immediately from this site. There is an invalid felony criminal charge which is attached to my profile. I have not given authority to post my name; my maiden name; our current address; previous addresses; or phone numbers which are non-listed number. All of this has been carried out without my permission. Not only is this dangerous and highly irresponsible, this charge is a libel act against my character. This tarnishes my personal name, it possibly has impacted my business. I have been violated; my information has been compromised; and I see this as defamation of character. Their website indicates "CheckPeople is a reseller of the reports obtained through the Service and, as such, cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information therein, particularly criminal record information." As such, if they cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information, they should not post it to their site. This, in itself, is criminal. Please advise how this matter will be resolved, immediately.

I purchased their 3 day trial period on 4/24. On 4/27, first thing in morning I got a charge for $29.15 for the next month without contacting me. I feel that I had through 4/27 before cancelling or renewing the next month. I contacted Checkpeople and they said they wouldn't refund the next month's subscription.

Checkpeople I supposedly had a trial background check with this organization and they have been billing my credit card for 11 months with no services

I supposedly had a trial background check with this organization and they have been billing my credit card for 11 months with no services rendered. In April, I supposedly had a $1 trial period for this company. I have no memory of this transaction and certainly would not have signed up for this service. I have been charged monthly $44.85 and totally $493.35 for eleven months. I certainly have not used this service at any time during the past 11 months. I spoke to a representative at the company and she refunded 3 months of the total charges. The representative also told me I should have received an email notification at the beginning of my transaction and monthly after that. I admit that I was careless in not monitoring my credit card statement more carefully but during that period I had been traveling extensively. The billing was noted as Bgchk and I just overlooked it. This month I noticed the change in my billing as Check People which I knew I had not purchased anything from this company. I am seeking a refund of 358.80, the remainder of the total that I was charged. I believe this company uses deceptive practices and has certainly failed to adequately inform me of the monthly billing for services I was supposedly using. Any other business that I have ever had a transaction with sends a statement outlining the charges. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide in a resolution of this matter. I live on a fixed income and this charge is a lot for me considering I received nothing in return. Thank you for your consideration

I used this online service for one month and after trying to cancel the service three times I'm still be billed by them. I believe I have been scammed, and they are milking it. I tried to stop it in 10-2021, again in 1-2022, and I have found that they are still billing me to this date. I contacted them again they responded with the same*** email and a conformation number. Information: web site- peoplecheck, com state Orlando, Florida number they sent, *** with a phone number*** I would like my money back, but that is most likely gone. it' around 280 dollars. Checkpeople I signed up for a $1 trial and canceled the next day

I signed up for a $1 trial and canceled the next day. I was overcharged so I called and the agent said I got a different service and it was no refunds I signed up for a $1 three day trial. I used the service and viewed the documents and canceled the next day. I was later charged 2 separate charges of $2.33 & $3.33. I did not authorize any additional charges. I called to see why I was overcharged and the agent Laquana G td me I got a different service. She said while smacking and snacking in my ear that I had gotten a pdf service which is not what I wanted or signed up for! She then said if I didn't click no thanks that I was charged for this service. This to me sounds like a tactic to get over on people because the selection had to already have been made on my behalf and that's not right! That's a form of entrapment! If I want additional services I know how to elect them when they are presented as an option! I don't need someone trying to swindle people by trying to think on their behalfs! These tactics allow them to overcharge 1,000s or more people for services they didn't even choose! This has to be illegal! When I went back to look at the sight again I still do not see where this particular option is. I know it seems like a small amount of money but it's the principle of it! They can't just dip into people's accounts and take whatever they want and say oh well it's nonrefundable because you didn't tell us no thanks! Well I didn't tell you yes thanks either! They need to be stopped bc those little fees thousands of times definitely add up!

Checkpeople This is the second time in months that I have requested my name be removed from this website

This is the second time in months that I have requested my name be removed from this website. Please allow this communication to serve as an official complaint being filed again against Checkpeople.com for publishing my personal information on their website WITHOUT my knowledge or consent. I am respectfully requesting for the complaintsboard.com to contact Checkpeople on my behalf and demand that my personal information be deleted from their website and any of their subsidiaries/partnering sites immediately. I have made this same request back in May , to no avail. While I understand websites like this may or may not be doing anything unethical by sharing my information on these databases. Check People should consider the impact of how they are compiling data and sharing data resulting in violation of an individual's privacy/damaging ones online footprint, possibility of information being used for identity theft, and even more importantly the risk of subjecting me to danger/victim of an assault as a result of adverting my address, phone number age etc. due to all of this identifiable data being advertised for all of the world to see. If I wanted my personal information to be made public or shared I would have social media which I do not.Should all of the information under my name not be deleted immediately, I will be filing a petition with Federal Trade Commission against Check People as this is the second time I have requested my name be deleted and is violation of my privacy, a safety issue, and is diluting my online footprint. In closing thank you in advance for all of your assistance.

Checkpeople Charged me again after I called to cancel my subscription

Charged me again after I called to cancel my subscription. I setup a 3 day trial for 4.99 - i called and cancelled it right after. Charged me again after I called to cancel my subscription. I setup a 3 day trial for 4.99 - i called and cancelled it right after. I setup a 3-day trial for $4.99 on July 26,2020. After I used the product for about an hour I was unhappy with it - the info was extremely inaccurate contrary to what the service claimed. Cancellation order # ***. My account / member ID is*** So I called their support as per their FAQ to cancel: "Cancellation is simple -- just call our customer service team at [protected] any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we'll cancel your plan so you don't get billed past your desired date. For whatever length of plan you choose, you'll receive unlimited searches." I talked to a lady on the phone who was VERY pushy about not cancelling. Kept offering other deals - eventually i got her to confirm that she cancelled the subscription on my card. Fast forward to today (July 26th ...not even three days later like the trial claimed?) I got a text from bank claiming fraud. I checked the charges (attached) and noticed i was charged TWO more times - again for $2.33 on july 26 and again just now on July 28th for $6.99. Again, I cancelled my subscription via their phone hotline. My bank terminated the charges and locked my account. I am now being sent a new card which is a pain in its self. Here is what the new charges prove about checkpeople.com: - They illegally charged me after "cancelling" my subscription - Even after cancelling they stored my credit card information so they could reuse it

Checkpeople Checkpeople.com has failed to respect my rights to have my information removed from their listings

Checkpeople.com has failed to respect my rights to have my information removed from their listings. 1.) I have never purchased services from CheckPeople.com in any way shape or form. 2.) CP.com is listing my information without my consent and has failed to respect my request to remove my data as afforded to me in their opt-out statement "As a courtesy, we provide the opportunity for individuals to opt out of the CheckPeople.com people search results. Please use the form below and provide a valid and working email address to process your request. Please allow 5-7 business days for your request to be processed." 3.) On 1/24, I initiated my opt-out request using CP.com's online opt-out mechanisms to have my information removed (see attached pdf). 4.) On 1/24, I received a "CP Opt Out Request Confirmation" email which I satisfied by clicking the "Confirm Request" button. 5.) On 2/05, I received a "rejection" email from CP.com support. The email suggested I had not confirmed my identity yet there was no additional information offered on how that might be rectified. 6.) On 2/05, I called the support line phone number (spoke with "Elvis") and was told I had to sort out the issue via email; no phone support was provided for my goals. 7.) On 2/06, I emailed support requesting additional information on how to verify my identity. I have yet to receive a response (see pdf attached). 8.) On 2/08, I filed a complaint with the FTC (case number: ***) 9.) On 2/10, I filed a complaint with the FBI 10.) On 2/10, I submitted a story idea to both CNN and Fox News specifically citing CP.com practices 11.) On 2/14 (today), I am now filing a complaint with the Complaintsboard.com

Checkpeople I used checkpeople.com to look up one or two reports on 1/8/22 for $4.99 total and paid with my debit card

I used checkpeople.com to look up one or two reports on 1/8/22 for $4.99 total and paid with my debit card. I've attached a photo of that initial charge as it appears on my statement. I never authorized a $29.16 charge that appeared on my debit card statement today, on 2/10/22. As you can see, the $29.16 charge is listed as a "point of sale" transaction which is impossible as I never gave them my debit card PIN. Not only that - I logged back into the website to check the dashboard and settings areas to see if there was any information about this charge, or billing, listed. There isn't. There is no area when logged into the website that lists any purchases made, pricing (including in their FAQs), any subscriptions, any debit or credit card information, any information about an existing or expired trial if there was one. I also then tried to find where I can cancel the account altogether - that's not an option on the website either! And there's no language anywhere stating how to do so. I've attached photos of the charges on my statement and also screenshots of the account dashboard/settings when logged into the website to show the lack of information available. In seeing the other billing complaints listed here with the Complaintsboard.com I'm gathering that checkpeople.com expects users to call a phone number to attempt to cancel or dispute a charge. I never would have known this based solely on the information the website itself provides, and I believe it's clear this hurdle of communication is made in bad faith on the company's part. I'd like confirmation my debit card was refunded for $29.16, that my card details have been removed from their system as I cannot do that myself, and confirmation that my account has been deleted fully.
