FRAUD and Intentional defamation of my characters company is posting false information e.g. stating multiple criminal records found for my name. There is absolutely no other person with my name on this planet than myself. I am a master special education teacher that requires very high security clearance, I have no criminal records. In addition I ran my friends name through their system the same issue ...they make up false statements stating the person has multiple criminal reports to probably encourage any person doing a preliminary search...to continue forward to pay for a report from this compamy to see their baited and fictional statements that state multiple criminal record found for the person they entered. I want this business shut down. It attempts to ruin people's reputation on false premises in attempt to sell their reports. I want my named cleared...this could impede possible employment if someone sees this false information. Legal counsel needs to further review this companies greedy self interest to make money at the cost of using and abusing people's reputations. This is disgusting disreputable business practices that harms innocent people all for their self serving greedy interests. There is a thing called karma and it's coming their way ten fold.

I had signed up for their so called free trial that was to have lasted for 24 hours. I had barely finished reading the crap they had for my own criminal background check. When I had an alert from my bank come through to me informing me that a company just ran a charge for $29.? So I immediately called the company and asked them why was it that they were charging me the full amount of their so called service when I had only been using it for a little over and hour. The woman on the other end informed me that when I signed up I had selected to Purchase the service and had declined the offer for the free trial. I called her ! I had taken a screen shot of the terms of agreement page. Because I was Leary of this company. Well after I had to threaten them with having my attorney contact them in regards to this matter. They finally agreed to reverse the charges. Which took almost a week to be posted back into my checking account. That was over a month ago. Now just this morning I have a new charge on my account from them for $1.00. So at this point I am going to file a fraudulent charge with my bank. It is the only way to get them blocked from trying to do recurring charges onto your credit/debit account. Just one more thing I don't have the time to fight. Do not use this scam artist. They will try to fleece you out of your money and the Majority of the information that they provide you Is inaccurate.

I searched my name and the website checkpeople.com displays all my personal identifiable information without me permission or a release of information. This website contributes to identity theft 'because it displays past addresses that might be use as a way to verify a person's private information. My rights of privacy have been violated. I have the right of privacy according to VAWA (***). Please remove all my personal information right now. Otherwise, I will seek legal action. PII: Personal Identifiable information that directly identifies an individual. "e.g., name, address, social security number or other identifying number or code, telephone number, email address, etc."dol.gov "Victims may have the right to protect the privacy of personal information, such as their name or identity, address, phone number, and place of employment contained in criminal justice documents, compensation records, and court testimony, as well as contact information provided for notification purposes. After putting in my card information they charged me $29.17 instead of $1.00. I immediately called them and spoke to one of the customer service representatives and he was extremely helpful, apologized for the inconvenience and let me know that it was only pending, and that 6 days from today that my card would THEN be charged $29 if I didn't call them to cancel the subscription/ membership. Which is fine, but they definitely need to include that information as well, not just that it will be $1.00 because then that leaves no room for confusion. He then told me that he could lower the price for me to $19.99 (which I declined) he asked if he could put me on a brief hold, got back on the phone and said that after 6 days IF I chose to that I could accept an offer of the price being $9.99 a month, which I decided to do. The pending charge for $29.17 was canceled within seconds and he and I both verified it on both ends. Overall, great customer service, but a huge scare because even though it's only $29.99 that's still $30.00 that I didn't authorize. However, after the process being explained to me briefly yet informatively I can't be too mad because it was only pending and they hadn't already taken it off. So for the people that are saying they're cards were charged they probably A. Didn't call back before the 6 day limit. Or B. Didn't call at all. Which isn't checkpeoples fault, the ONLY thing that they can be accused of is not giving all the information upfront. Customers shouldn't have to go searching for answers, they should already be readily available.

I think this place is a joke and I'm going to call them back after reading the reviews below. I too read through everything and I too thought about checking with the complaintsboard.com well stupid me I should have did it, because they tell you a dollar from the door nowhere does it say that you have to pay $6 to download it you can't even look at it if you don't pay to download it so it's actually $7 okay and then they say you know and then in 5 days if you don't cancel your membership you'll be billed for the $29.17 or whatever it is, but that too is a fabrication I plan to see criminal charges but I want people to be aware the minute I put that dollar and agreed to that dollar they put a hold on my account for $29 and whatever the odd cents were, it put me into an overdraft. Because the things that were coming I was getting paid the next day so I figured it don't matter so I called the company and I tell him I want my money back and I want it back now they could take it out right away he's like we can't do that I'm telling you you're going to do it I got my money back that night later that night cuz I kept calling and I kept telling him I'm not going to quit I will call the local authorities down there because that is internet fraud, false advertising, and that was unauthorized use of my credit card over state lines which is a federal offense so they want to play around let them keep going I just want people to be aware that is a felony and it is a cross state lines so it is a federal offense punishable by a very long time in jail so I hope they can enjoy themselves because I am contacting the local authorities in their location. So what I got my money back which was 3 days ago today I look on my I'm looking through my bank account now they put a dollar charge on my account and I seen the other gentleman road that they do that every month and they have been for the last year well I'm calling my bank again thank God I have Wells Fargo and I am telling them I want no money to ever be released to them that they are trying to get unauthorized charges from my account. Luckily as soon as I seen it I had called my back and informed them of the situation and I guess my words wrong true and hard because I had just hung up on the gentleman not I don't even want to say gentleman whatever is the POS at check people I just hung up and I said let's see who works out better here cuz I'm calling my bank right now and by the time I called my bank and got to talk to a fraud person they already put my money back oh and guess what it didn't have to sit there and wait for days on end. It was immediately available to me again. Don't use them they are such a scam and they are thieves, they will keep trying to charge you I didn't do nothing on the August 10th, I did that three days ago so what they decide to Bill me now no neighbors supposed to Bill me then I didn't authorize a charge from today so I'm calling my bank again as soon as I finish this review don't do it stay away from it they are horrible and the people just talk talk talk talk over you oh they think they're slick I got something for them I'm looking at the county they're in now cuz I am calling the local authorities down there and I hope they have a great day. LOL
