These guys really know how to handle business, except for making sure you're fed.

I believe I fell for their scam. After everything went through, my insurance has decided to not renew my policy which is bad and listed me as high risk. CRG finally sent me a check, but guess what its not validated! Now none of the emails work or their phone doesnt even work. I can't believe this... Im sure they ran away with what they got and just decide to send me bogus check.

I had the company process my claim. My insurance paid them but they won't pay me.

I used California Recovery Group, *** to help with a claim for smoke damage. We have an agreement that will get 50% of what they will recover for me. The 1st payment they took my deductible from my share ($1500.00). The deductible was not paid out to them from the insurance company. They put that amount in their pocket. I made many calls to them about it. When they agreed to pay it back to me, they only sent $750.00. I have called them on this too many times to only get the run around. They still have not finished my claim and have not sent me the rest of my money. I feel I need your help in this matter.

I've been trying to stop getting those postcard mails for a while now. They keep sending them to Ms *** at this place. I don't want these cards and they've been coming every three weeks for the past two years. I thought about getting a lawyer involved, but instead I decided to send each one back to them with a cover letter. I update the letter with the date of each mailing. I have no clue where Ms Brown is. She moved out a long time ago. I'm not interested in their *** service or anything like that. I'm just tired of their junk and I keep sending it back. I heard Ms *** has a shady background and I want nothing to do with this company.

This thing happened on 8/28. Some dude was going door to door in my neighborhood and talked to my wife (80) and me (78) while we were doing yard work. He was offering $*** to file an insurance claim for smoke damage to our house from the CA fires. I asked him a bunch of questions, but his answers didn't convince me. I went inside to take a phone call I was expecting, and when I came back, he had convinced my wife to sign a paper and then left in a hurry. On 8/30, I told my insurance agent about what happened, and he said not to worry, it's just a scam. Later that day, I got an email about a claim (dated in July) for smoke damage. I called the state farm adjuster, and they said I had to call CA Recovery Group to get them to send a Termination letter. I've called them twice, but they keep putting me off. I think they've taken advantage of us, being older folks.

On July 22, I called California Recovery Group to tell them I got a check for a smoke damage claim from the fires in September . I talked to *** and they said someone would pick up the check. The check was made out to California Recovery Group and me, ***. I was supposed to get 50% of the check, which is $***. They said I would get my check in 3 weeks. I called during the week of August 9 and they said my check would be mailed on Friday, August 13. I never got it. I called again and they said there was a mistake on the checks and they would be mailed the next Friday, August 20. Still no check. I called today, August 25, at 10:49 am. I talked to *** and he put me on hold. When he came back, he said they were behind and there were errors to fix. He said I would get my check by the end of the month. *** and *** haven't returned my calls.

This smoke damage insurance case, ya know? I signed a contract with CA Recovery Group for a contingency thing. So, I waited like 9 months for my settlement, even though they said it would only take 2 to 3 months. Finally, I got a payment of some amount from the settlement, but it was way less than what they promised. They said the claim settlement is some amount minus my insurance deductible and their fee. But they got it all wrong, man! The amount they're talking about is just an estimate, not the actual settlement amount. I tried reaching out to them multiple times, but they never called me back. It's like they're purposely trying to mess things up, you know? They're supposed to be a legit company, but they're failing big time. I just wanna sort this out without any drama, ya know? Hopefully, your Bureau can help me out so I don't have to go through the hassle of taking legal action. Thanks, dude.

I got this flyer from California Recovery Group *** and they said they can help me get money from my home insurance company because of the 2021 wildfires. So, I hired them and signed a contract. The contract is simple, they get half of the money they recover (minus the deductible). In my case, my insurance company settled on an amount, then they took out the deductible and gave me a check. The rest of the money was supposed to be split between California Recovery Group and me. But California Recovery Group only gave me half of my deductible. They said they had to take out the deductible (even though the insurance company already did that). At first, I thought it was a mistake. But after arguing with a manager about basic math and the manager promising to refund the missing money but never doing it, I think they purposely took more of my deductible. It's been 10 months and still no check. Every time I call, I can't talk to a manager and they never call back like they say they will. My Insurance *** settled on *** but took out the deductible of *** so they gave me a check for *** That check should be split equally between both parties *** But California Recovery Group only paid me *** They shorted me *** On their summary sheet, they divide the total settlement amount by two, then subtract the deductible (even though *** already did that). So, they end up with more money. THEY CHEAT PEOPLE LIKE THIS.
