I have a 4 month old Toshiba DVR player/recorder. After visiting 3 web sites and making 5 calls to different phone numbers still can't get help on telling me how to get closed caption when playing a rented DVD. TV has closed caption and when I record can get closed caption but can't get it when playing a DVD that has been rented or bought. I bought a Toshiba DVR recorder. Have gone from cover to cover and called 5 different phone numbers and visited 2 different web sites to find out how to get closed caption to show when viewing a rented DVD. All they did was send me from one web site to another and one phone number to another and got nowhere. Either the phone numbers I called referred me to the web sites, I already visited or they handled ONLY computers and accessories. My tv has closed caption and when recording from the tv get closed caption but nothing when watching a rented DVD. As far as I am concerned I will NEVER buy another...

I bought a 42 inch Toshiba Television from Robinson's in Dumaguete. Just over two years ago


and the warrenty had run out. After being given a address by the store to get it repaired, I paid for the part, but have waited for over six months for the repair to be done. Toshiba is a disgrace. never again.

It seems Toshiba could not care less.

I called Geeks on Site to recover some deleted files that got deleted from my recycle bin. As soon as the tech got to my house, (he barely spoke English) he told me that what he needed to do was going to take about 3 hours or more and that I had 15 minutes to upgrade to the 4-hour block at $297 or it was going to be $99 per hour. As soon as I upgraded and got off of the phone, he told me that he could not recover the data from my recycle bin. Immediately she noticed that the notebook was rather difficult to open and shut, but assumed that it was normal and continued to use the computer. okay I cracked my tablet screen on accident and i was looking at general prices of screen replacements and they were around $160 but i look on the Toshiba repair web site and they did not have the price listed. So i tried to call tech support and they gave me another number to call and it was past their work hours two hours before. and i waited a day called then got hung up on two times and the third time they FINALLY gave me an answer and it was the same price to get a screen replacement as a brand new tablet. RIDICULOUS! Toshiba is retarded....

My husband and I purchased my mother-in-law her first laptop as a Christmas present, much to our surprise it was not working. Unfortunately she did not let us know and once we found out she was having problems we tried to bring it back since it was only less than 6 weeks old. I'm posting this on every available website so that other consumers will not make the mistake I did by buying a Toshiba laptop.

I purchased a Satellite P845t-S4310 as a birthday present for my daughter. Right out of the sealed box, the touchscreen did not work. I called their technical support number and was first told that the laptop was NOT touchscreen capable. I pointed out that the specs on their website said it was and there was a sticker on the laptop saying it was a touchscreen.

After a couple of different calls, I was able to get them to agree to fix it...

I purchased a Toshiba 46′ TV from Best Buy on 11/4/11. Shortly afterwards I had to leave town due to a prolonged family member’s illness. Upon returning, I noticed the sound kept getting lower and lower until I had to turn it all the way up to 100 to barely hear it. It has a 1 yr mfg warranty on it and repair was set up.

Days after the warranty expired my hard drive began alerting me that it was about to die. I replaced the hard drive but my recovery disks did not work. So I purchased new recovery disks from Toshiba. Got alerts that 6 of the drivers didn't work -were "unsigned" or something. My Toshiba Portege Notebook computer has a defective hinge on the cover. The hinge broke when I opened it, rendering the computer almost unusable. Toshiba refused it repair it, even though it is still under warranty - claiming the broken hinge is "physical damage" and not covered under their warranty.

When you think about it, many of the problems with a notebook can be classified as "physical damage." Sticking keys, broken hinges, loose parts, etc. I would recommend that you stay away from Toshiba Notebooks, and in particular the Portege line - I believe they are...

Toshiba has the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

I use my Satellite L650 laptop only for my evening graduate school classes. After about 6 months, the E key came loose and now doesn't function properly.

I called Toshiba and they told me to purchase a box for $25 to send the laptop to their repair center. I purchased the box, sent in the computer, and asked them to fix the E key.
