Thrifty Vet pet-i-supply.com

I just ordered Braveto for my dog from this company that I thought was Canadian. The product was delivered from Edinburgh, Suite 13 Mitchell House.

The Bravecto looks legit, but my vet said the fakes are very real looking, so I need to check the source. How do I determine where the product was manufactured and by whom?

I appreciate any information or advice.

Thrifty Vet Seller needs only money and no delivery of the order

I placed the order on the website www.thriftyvet.com couple of days ago, but still no delivery and info as well. As well as the seller didn’t reply to my emails. I haven’t received any confirmation, so I have no idea about the status of my order. I was really disappointed in this company. So be careful if you use this website or leave comments if you have horrible experience with this seller.

Thrifty Vet SCAM

In May 2012 I ordered a years supply of frontline for 2 cats and 1 dog...I never received a receipt for my purchase.
It arrived in a timely manner and began applying it to the animals each month as directed.
We have such a flea infestation in our home...this stuff DOES NOT work. My husband brought the pacakge
to our vet..and they told him we have been SCAMMED, the vet tech showed my husband the difference
in packaging between the real frontline product and what we purchased from Thrifty Vet sold as "frontline".
$272 later, I supposeI am thankful that whatever crap we put on them...didn't kill them...though my dogs hair is
starting to fall out..(the vet tech told us to give him a bath with dawn dish detergent to get this supposed "frontline"
off him. I sent an email into Thrifty Vet...and they just sent me some standard form letter of a response...DON'T BUY
FROM THEM!
VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!

Dear Customer,

I cannot locate any orders from Harrington TN or find you from the anonymous information posted, do you have an order number? The flea control products are applied directly to your pet and will not kill fleas before they come into contact with your animals. It sounds like an infestation happened near your home environment which contain many other animals that are not normally treated with flea control and can continue to breed fleas. (mice, possums, etc)

Thank you,
ThriftyVet

Thrifty Vet False Advertising

I ordered 12 month supply of Frontline Plus for Medium Dogs. Website did say they are out of Canada. To be fair, I DID receive the product, just not the exact product that was advertised. The issue is that it is the European product and not the product approved for sale in the US. I contacted the company that makes Frontline (Merial LTD) and they said that I had been sent "foreign label" product and should not use it on my pet. Merial was kind enough to stand behind it and provide me with info to send in my purchases and they are going to send me the US approved product instead for no charge. This is part of their ONE time satisfaction guarantee. Thriftyvet DID reply to my email questioning this switch of product and basically stated that it is all made in France and just repackaged for the US and it is the same. Merial confirmed that the product is indeed all made in France, but I don't understand why Merial would go to the trouble and expense to switch the product if all is the same. I would have appreciated it if Thiftyvet had explained this on their website - they did not. All the pictures of the products are of the US labels and not of the UK labels. I want to save money but not at the possible expense of harming my pet. Clearly I should have read this complaint site first and just not ordered from them in the first place. Now I know.

I'm glad we found Thrifty Vet before reading these reviews, Merial makes their Frontline for markets all around the world and Thriftyvet is able to acquire it in bulk at the lowest cost. If Merial truly had an issue with them Merial would never provide the Frontline.

The Frontline we bought arrived within 1 week and works good!

Thrifty Vet Scam

I USUALLY ORDER FRONTLINE FLEA PREVENTION FOR YEARS FROM "PET SHED" AND THEY ARE WONDERFUL. I DECIDED TO DO A PRICE CHECK AND FOUND A WEBSITE THAT WOULD SAVE ME ABOUT $30.00. THEY HAD A 45 DAY GUARANTEE AND ONLY ACCEPTED PAYPAL; SO, THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND THE TESTIMONIALS ON THE SITE LOOKED AUTHENTIC. I PAID $52.99 ON JUNE 4TH AND TODAY IS JULY 7TH, 2010 AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THIS SELLER "LLOYD MCKINNEY" EXCEPT EMAIL. HE WROTE ME BACK SAYING IT WAS COMING FROM LEEDS, ENGLAND AND I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED IT. I OPENED A DISPUTE WITH PAYPAL AND HE SENT ME AN EMAIL STATING THAT I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED IT; UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO TRACKING. I HAVE NOW ESCALATED THIS TO A FORMAL DISPUTE REVIEW WITH PAYPAL. IN THE INTERIM, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ONE TO BE ON A CONSUMER ALERT, BUT, AFTER NOW PERFORMING DUE DILIGENCE, I AM NOT THE ONLY CONSUMER THAT HAS BEEN RIPPED OFF. PLEASE...PLEASE...BEWARE. I WILL ONLY DO BUSINESS WITH PET SHED FROM THIS DAY FORWARD. PET SHED IS LOCATED IN AUSTRAILIA AND I USUALLY RECEIVE MY PRODUCT WITHIN 7 DAYS AT THE LONGEST. I WAS A LEGAL ASSISTANT FOR 15 YEARS AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I WAS NEGLIGENT IN PROPERLY CHECKING OUT THIS COMPANY FIRST...DON'T YOU BE DUPED.

I was told by my vet to use that Frontline on my cat for skin allergies. The vet gave me some, after examining my cat, and now my cat is dead! She was fine until I used that s***! I am devastated. I would rather have lived with her on steroids than be poisoned by frontline. I miss her every day, and it does NOT get easier with time. I will never put poison on any animal ever again. I hope these greedy jerks go out of business!

Thrifty Vet product not received; won't provide refund

I ordered flea medication for my cats on 11/19/10 and still haven't received anything. I have contacted Thrifty Vet via email 7 times to request a refund since I had to purchase the flea medicine locally and never received their shipment. Not only were they unable to provide me with a tracking number for the package which they claimed shipped on 11/22/10 stating that there's "no tracking available" (highly suspicious because all packages shipped in the US have tracking numbers) and they also promised to "replace at no cost" if it wasn't delivered "within a reasonable time." When I contacted them on 12/17/10 they replied with the excuse that "mail has been stuck in the postal system due to extreme weather conditions (snow/ice) but is being sorted and delivered as soon as they can." They did nothing to address the fact that I had already purchased the medication elsewhere and wanted the $69.99 that I paid for this back. All of my emails after that have been completely ignored and I'm just trying to get my money back for a product that I did not receive. I requested a phone number to contact them at, but haven't received a response. On the PayPal receipt, the merchant's name is listed as: Lloyd McKinney. If anyone has information as to how to contact this person or how to obtain a refund from this company, please post the information. And like many others who have posted on here, I wish I would've read the reviews prior to purchasing anything from this company since they seem to have scammed a large number of people. Their "45 day money back guarantee" is completely false and I would advise anyone purchasing flea medication to buy it from a local pet store or vet's office. It may cost more, but at least you will actually receive the product!

I contacted paypal 11 days ago, they said within five days I should have my money credited to my account, if they have the funds...
which I will not hold my breath, I am sure they will keep limited funds or none to credit anybody..., .they have no phone to call, no person to speak to, and no shipping number, besides that they are excellent...

I've got the same problem with an order I placed 12/23/10 and got the same answers from Loyd McKinney while inquiring about my order. ThriftyVet is located in England and uses PayPal for money transactions. PayPal should be able to get you a refund. I'm from Illinois and ordered from him in October and received my order in less than a week, I guess I lucked out on that order. My sister and girlfriend are also experiencing the same problems. My advice would be to stay away from ThriftyVet.

Thrifty Vet &Foreign Transaction Fees& apply, are not properly disclosed

Watch out! If you place an order with Thrifty Vet (a Canadian merchant) from the U.S.A., in addition to lengthy delivery intervals (2 weeks or more), you will likely be hit with a "Foreign Transaction Fee" if you paid by credit card. This applies even if you paid through PayPal if your PayPal account is linked to your credit card.
I ended up getting hit by my credit card issuer with what amounted to a 3% fee, beyond the final checkout total.
Others have commented on how Thrifty Vet does a lousy job disclosing they're a Canadian merchant, and this is yet another reason not to do business with them.

A flea infestation cannot be eliminated within a few days.

Once treatment has begun it can take three to eight weeks (occasionally longer) before the flea infestation is eliminated.
– This is because the home and/or yard are infested with flea eggs, larvae, pupae and adults emerging daily.
– Remember, the fleas you see on your pet today came from flea eggs laid three to eight weeks ago.

This website seems legitimate but after 35 days I still have not received my product. When contacted they told me it was the weather, 14 days later they told me the mail was being held up at the border by homeland security, they even took the time to send me what looked like a bulletin from the Canadian Postal Service. I think this guy does this to delay anyone filing a dispute through paypal which can only be done within the first 45 days. So buyer beware.

Thrifty Vet Took Payment of $267.97 Never Shipped Product

Lloyd McKinney / [protected]@thriftyvet.com received my payment of $267.97 on August 23, 2009. I purchased Frontline for three dogs and 2 cats. I ordered directly from their website, and used Paypal, because Paypal is his business associate. When you see Paypal it makes a business look more legitimate. By September 3rd I had not received any information nor product, so I complained to Paypal stating that I had not received my product. They requested information, from thriftyvet.com and they quickly supplied a tracking number from USPS. When I checked that number I found out that it has been issued, but was never used because the package was never put into the mail and that tracking number had not been activated. Item was not shipped and Paypal is enabling this company by continuing to be affiliated with them. They hide behind Paypal and pretend they are a professional business. I wish other people would have filed complaints. I looked before I order but could not find any complaints. I hope everyone who is thinking about doing business with this company sees this and purchased any of their products from another company.

Thriftyvet is scamming me out of giving me my money back. Their website screams of customer satisfaction and full refunds or exchanges, but I can't get them to give me their return address. It is not listed anywhere on their website or the package they send. I emailed them explaining that their Frontline does not work and I wanted to exchange it for Advantage. They emailed back immediately and explained how Frontline worked and said I could get a full refund if I would send back the product, but they gave no address or procedure about returning it. Now I know they are getting my emails. I emailed back the same day and asked for their return address so that I could return the product. They will not email me back at all. I have emailed them almost every single day. THEIR FRONTLINE DOES NOT WORK! After 1 week of using their product, my cat was diagnosed as ANEMIC from having so many FLEAS on him. THRIFTYVET does NOT honor their guarantee. Please do not purchase anything from them unless you want a useless product and to be out of a lot of money. I ordered a one year supply that I am now stuck with.

Sick pets need to be treated by a veterinarian immediately, if your cat has so many fleas that he becomes anemic there is surely an infestation not only on the cat but in your home and surrounding outdoor areas. The fact you had only used Frontline for 1 week yet the cat had thousands of fleas implies that your home had been infested long before you even considered purchasing the flea products.

Topical flea control products only protect one variable in the equation and the fleas also need to jump from the environment onto your cat before they can be killed by the Frontline. It is recommended to treat all pet-related areas of the home by vacuuming and a natural flea preventative. Heated flea traps are also an excellent way to lure fleas onto them instead of your pet during the infestation treatment.

Bottom line is you shouldn't blame others for your own negligence and lack of due diligence.

I ordered from Thrifty Vet and received the order in about 10 business days as promised by the company. I'll order form them again.

Here's additional background:
I was going to order a 6-months supply of Frontline Plus from Thrifty Vet but after reading mixed reviews decided to order only a 3-months pack. I figured the deal was too good to pass and decided that my world won't crash if I end up losing 30 bucks :)

I placed an order and payed with PayPal. PayPal emailed me a confirmation. Also please note that PayPal advises a merchant NOT to ship any goods until a payment is cleared. So it's not a delay on Thrifty Vet's end; it's just a good business practice.

Also, I created an account with Thrifty Vet and was able to check my order's status whenever I wanted.

As soon as my PayPal payment cleared, which took 3 business days, my order was shipped. I received the package several days later. I'm a happy customer and my cat is flea-free.

I bought medicine for my dog from the website www.thriftyvet.com. The seller provided all confirmation info, as well as he told me that I would need to wait about 5 days. I waited 15 days and my order was still somewhere. The seller only told me to calm down and wait for the delivery. I ordered a box of advantage for dogs over 55 pounds for 35.00, it has four tubes in it which i thought was a good deal. My home is infested with fleas, I thought it was working at first because they were not itching but i was wrong, way wrong! My whole house and my dogs are infested with fleas. The product says it would take a half hour and would kill all fleas and larvae. I can almost bet that this is a big scam. A product well known as ADVANTAGE would work like it says. I am a very upset customer and would greatly appreciate my money back.

These guys are apparently a scam. Ordered flea product from them Dec 2010, they said it was shipped on 28 Dec 2010, now is is Feb 8, 2011 and still no product. Sent 7 emails to them, they responded with 2, and they said they even reshipped item after second time but both times they said it was held up due to bad weather. Item was paid through Paypal to Lloyd McKinney, have submitted claim to Paypal for refund of money because I don't believe these items were ever shipped, especially after supposedly being shipped twice. I hope someone nails these guys and stops this fraud. phoenixburner

Update: I finally received my shipment on 1/28/11 (29 business days/44 calendar days after 12/15/10 shipment). Have called both MasterCard and PayPal to cancel my dispute of charges. Apologize for thinking Thrifty Vet was crooked, but still think 29 business days is excessive, even for December overseas orders. I would be willing to pay extra for option to ship with a tracking number.

I am also a victim of Thrifty Vet. Ordered Frontline Plus for Cats 12/14/10. Supposedly shipped 12/15/10. Product not received after one month (20 business days). Feel stupid not having investigated them before I ordered. Fortunately, MasterCard is crediting back my money, including Foreign Transaction Fee. Good example of why using credit card is important. I ordered a 1 yr supppy of Front Line on 11/14/10. Still have not rec'd it. I have emailed them several times...they do not have a phone number. They responded with the same email to my first 2 emails...they stated that it was shipped from another location and that I should expect deliverly shortly (no tracking # could be provided). They also stated in the email that they would reship if not rec'd. Today 12/24/10 still NO product. I agree this is a SCAM. My cc company taking care of reversing the charge.

If thrifty vets wants to compete in the business world more options for payment is needed. Business could double with payments from credit and the various debit cards. A lot of people are using the credit/debit cards purchased in stores that are loadable and are of no risk to thrifty vet as the money is waiting to be extracted!
