RainSoft - Pennsylvania, Downingtown - Is the test fake too?

Sent free water test to Home Depot, so someone came to test water. Looks like our water was gross, so I'm making my 9 month olds food and I say, "should I use the filtered water?" So he pours some in the bowl I mix my baby's rice cereal with. Then it all turned into a sales pitch which we hemmed and hawed over and he was at our house for 5 hours! Ultimately ending in us cancelling, because we read all these reviews and realize we were lied to. Now I'm freaking out - is ANY of the water test real!? Especially the "mini system" he hooked up to my faucet to show how much better their...

After reading some of the complaints on here, I was a little worried about my upcoming installation. However, the man who installed our equipment did a really great job. He took extra time to make sure the installation was done properly and did not cut corners, which we really appreciated. I just want to add thank you and great work....

RainSoft - Illinois, Chicago - We Now Have Great Water

Setting up consultation with the sales rep was fairly simple. They spoke to us, we put our information down, they called us to confirm the appointment, and the gentleman came out to the house. It was nice to see everything firsthand. That helped with the presentation. After having the system installed, the water tastes better, don't use half as much cleaning product as I had to before, cooking with the water is much better, skin is a lot better... Generally the quality has increased tenfold from what it was before. I had a great overall experience. I wish we would have known about them a lot...

I have read the many complaints against Rainsoft and am amazed that people will take these complaints and chose to believe that the whole company is bad. What about the many customers that are satisfied with everything Rainsoft has to offer and does in making sure their customers are taken care of. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world and there are always some that just cannot be satisfied. Also, maybe the whole situation was not entirely the way it was described and human error came into play. One or two apples do not spoil the whole bunch. But, then again, there are those who want to...

RainSoft - Money paid system not fixed

Paid $500 to have system serviced/repaired. Not repaired, still have bad water. This began aug 1, 2013, still not repaired. Rainsoft decided they would test the water, sent water test, just for us to see we would have to pay another 100 to send it back. Rainsoft never returned our calls after that.

We have had the system since we owned our home, over 10 yrs. The system was upgraded and eventually rainsoft lost the service tech in this area. Finally recently they hired one only to have him take 500$ from us and not fix/service the system. We were scheduled for another rainsoft tech/owner...

Wow...seems like I dodged a bullet. I, too did the Home Depot sweepstakes thing & was contacted to have a water test done. I cannot bring myself to label the individual a "Salesman" because he became rude & pushy when I had the nerve to make a couple of copies (i have a small copier in my home) of two pages from his sight seller, question some of the assertions he made without supporting data, and the final straw was when he insisted on talking over me, interrupting me in mid sentence numerous times. I also wanted to research the claims he was making regarding the info on the pages I copied. I don't...

Approached while shopping in Home Depot by a representative of Rainsoft/ possibly one of the employees of the local dealership. I was told I could have them come to my home and do a water test to check for any problems with my water system. I agreed to the in home test, because I had recently moved to Jacksonville, and also since I had just bought a new home. When the representatives came to my home in May, 2011 they proceeded to show me how my water had impurities and the air quality of my system could be improved by their products (the water and air purification systems). I was told I needed to...

Happy! The folks at Professional Water Services have be taking care of my filthy, smelly, rotten water 18 years with out incident. The 2 companies before them couldn't cut it. Thanks Linda, Mark, Pete and the rest of you good people. I normally don't write things online because there is no rules. But when my daughter told me she found something on line that was negative, I felt compelled to speak up. Thanks again...

A & B Marketing d/b/a Rainsoft continually calls my home marketing their product even though I have asked them repeatedly to remove me from their call list. The girl who calls is very pushy, and rude and claims that we have been referred to them by a friend, or by home depot. I have told them that we are on a no call list, and that they should not call us, however, they continue to call....

RainSoft - New Jersey - Salesman lies

If a Rainsoft salesman calls hang up. If you did make an appointment don't let them in the door. I got a phone call that I 'won' two prizes. One was a free water test and the other a gift card from Home Depot. The caller explained she was from Home Depot and the free water test was in order to see what was wrong with the water in the area so they knew what type of chemicals to spend. I told her I didn't want a spiel for a water conditioner company. No no no she said. This test is worth 100's of dollars and is for Home Depot. If you want a water softener they will sell you...

A RAINSOFT salesman came to our house to give us an estimate on a water softener, yesterday. He refused to give my wife a price, saying he could only give it to her if "her husband was home." What is this, the 1930's? OUTRAGEOUS!
This will turn out to be a bad day for RAINSOFT, I assure you.
Ladies, if you want a water softener, don't call RAINSOFT; unless your husband is home. They evidently won't deal with a woman....

RainSoft - former rep's story

I worked for a rainsoft dealer until this past week when the business could no longer sustain itself. I was never paid for my month of service. Usually when I arrived at peoples' homes they had little idea why I was there. Most of the time, by the time I was informed of the appointment it was already 15 to 45 min late. Apparently some customers are told they won a water test, although I wouldn't know for sure as I never met the people making these appointments. Their target market is low income homes with because they are more likely to purchase without really thinking about it. They also...

RainSoft - Kansas, Overland Park - FRAUD!

We purchased the rainsoft system...or shall I say my husband was suckered into purchasing the rainsoft system exactly one year ago. I had concerns as the product cosst 5k for whole house and air purifier system, and because our sales rep who turns out to also be the general manager in our area made it seem like the company was working for us. Needless to say, Robert the GM set up the install before even mentioning anything about us needing to perform maintainence on the product monthly and annually. I tried to return the product after thirty days because I did not feel that it did anything even...

RainSoft - Ohio, Cleveland - Don't Purchase this product

I'm a first time home buyer, and a few weeks after I moved in, I recieved one of the cold calls offering me free gifts for 15 mins of my time in which my water would be tested. I agreed for the water testing. The salesman showed me how dirty my water was and how much better it was with the system. I was told that with this system, when making a bubble bath, I'd have tons of bubbles without using alot of soap. Never happened. The bubbles accumulate the same as they did with the regular city water. My dishes in my dishwasher comes out no differently than they did before I had this system,...

RainSoft - Ripoff

All comparable softeners are basically the same from one company to another with the exception of the control head.
Quality and value is about the same.
To give you an idea of how much over priced a rainsoft conditioner is,
you could buy a contr0l head of equal value from some other company like Fleck for instance and install it in place of a Rainsoft head on your Rainsoft system and you would have a softener that would perform as well as if not better than your softener with a Rainsoft head!

The bonus???? You would have saved yourself roughly $2300!!!

RainSoft - North Carolina - 1 hour 15 minutes I'll never get back

I, like many others got a similar cold call about someone coming out to test my water system. They said that it would take about 15 minutes and that there would even be a fun experiment for my kids to do. They also said that I would receive a $20 gift card to Walmart for agreeing to the test. Last year someone from our town came out to test our water and said it was fine, and it only took 5 minutes. I thought that it was the same people coming to check it again, I was wrong. The guy showed up at 6:30 and didn't start until 6:40. Meanwhile, my kids are fussy, one hasn't finished her homework...

Lets just say never buy a rainsoft water softener.I bought the system about 2 years ago. It stop working 6 months after I got it. It froze up the first winter I had it. A neighbor called me at work one saturday morning to tell me there was water coming out the side of my house and going all down the side of the street. I rushed home and found water shooting out the side of the rainsoft system. I called the company they told me they did not work on weekends and i said I had to cut my water off to stop it from shooting out the system so I dont have any water. They said they can come to my house monday...

About one year ago I had a rainsoft water softener installed in my home . When the salesman came to my house he went on and on to tell me how rainsoft is all about costomer satistfaction and is in such good standing with the bbb showing a great number of endorsements corperations that currently used there product. It seemed like a great investment that would protect my houses plumbing not to mention all the other perks(which are not entirely true)

it was to my great dissapointment that the installation of the reverse osmosis filter under the kitchen sink was very poorly installed in...

In May 2009 we moved from a house in Sanford, Florida to Orlando, Florida . We had to downsize to the economy to a trailer on real property, and it has a well. WE bought our old rainsoft equipment from our house to see if we could fix it work out here. No problem said rainsoft, but they would have to refurbish a few things, and add a carbon tower to the tune of $1, 600.00. with a guarantee of a year . Well it is now December 2009, and we have had at least 8 service calls, 3 pumps, and still no good water. My husband has been out of work for a year and a half, and i am disabled so there is no money...
