I took Cox service in 2012 with rental modem. I was been charged 6.99 every month for the same as per plan. In July 2013, I then purchased a modem from third party who was also using cox. I was unable to use that modem on my account as that modem was register to that sellers account. I then had a conference call with Cox (Me, Cox and the seller) who then transferred the ownership of the modem to me by sharing the serial number, MAC, etc and then cox modified the configurations on their side so that i was then able to use the modem. I have been with Cox for a while now and I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in this company. I had recently moved and had my home package transferred and also upgraded it. The technician did the install and ran the cable wire from one outlet, across the hallway and used slitters to the rooms upstairs. First off when I saw how he was running the wires I asked if there was another option because it is a tripping hazard and he told me no. That was the only way to do it. Paying for 50 Mbsp Internet service with wireless capability but only receive half that on wired service and get .98 to 2.20 Mbsp on wireless rendering most of our equipment unable to use the service at all since it's always "loading" or crashes. Been having problems with this for years and no resolution and no real options in Las Vegas to have other providers. "Highway Robbery" is the phrase to best describe Cox Communications. This company should be ashamed of itself! They realize they have a monopoly on their line of business in my area and they charge their Customers huge sums of money. I currently pay $106 per month - and this is at a "special" discounted rate supposedly - so my actual monthly bill would be around $120. I do not have HBO, Showtime, Starz, absolutely no premium movie channels...so what am I getting for $120/$106 per month?? HGTV and the weather channel?? Wow, thanks. An appointment was set up 5 days prior to installation, an appointment was set up from8am to 8pm- missed worked so I can be home for the installer and it came to find out my order was not even in placed, I've wasted all morning because of this!!! On January 2013, I received services from Cox Communication, right away I began receiving Denial of Service attack from Cox Communication. When I investigated the IP address associated with the cyber stalking, I traced the IP address to Cox Communication Security IP address 24.*.*.*. When I complaint about the activity, I was told to contact Cox Abuse. This was in 2013. I followed the instructions provided on the Cox Communication requirements for filing a complaint by sending my firewall log to Cox Abuse. They never responded to my complaint. Instead I began receiving text messages from Cox Abuse....

We are filing complain against Cox Communications for a bait & switch scam to draw customers into plans that were not initially described in the details during the sales sign up session over the phone. We are now discovering after 6 months into the contract. Long story short, we were previous Cox customers and had switched to Direct TV. Direct TV was pulling some of the same tactics that we are experiencing now with Cox, so we sought to return to Cox. This company has got to be the worst company in the world! Two and a half months ago, my wife called Cox to switch our telephone, TV, and Internet services over to them and their "bundle" package deal. A week later a technician came to our house and informed us that there was not a "port" for them to hook to for our house, and they would need to put in a work order to have the cable port installed across our street, then they could hook us up. I said great, lets do it! Two months later, 16 - 20 calls, and at least 20 hours on the telephone waiting while they looked at our account...

This is the 2nd time I have been charged by Cox Communications with supposedly having services which obviously someone opened from an address I lived in 14 years ago and has used all my personal identification to do this.
I got a massive bill in 11/13 and Cox eventually apologized and agreed it was not my debt as i had not lived there for over 14 years and proved by tax bills and my bank statements that I had lived here in my only home since 9/2000 and they agreed and waived all fees.

Had Cox for a few years and it was an ongoing fight to watch their billing as it changed willy nilly on their part. After you sign up for a product package they start taking away TV channels such as Hallmark. Then they try to make you rent more boxes in order for you to continue to get Turner Classic movies on the other remote TVs throughout the house.

We finally said enough is enough is enough is enough and went to Century Link. Far better service, Many more great channels, less cost etc.

Lastly when I called to discontinue, they were to send me a box...

Well it began on Friday night when my mom decided to purchase internet service. We called the sales department and placed an order and paid the 30 dollar install fee. I would NEVER recommend cox to anyone. My service has been terrible since the day my "deal" was up and had to start paying full price for the package. They don't remember anything there... like how my services were supposed to be cancelled on the 15th and it's now the 25 and my bill is full price. This is ridiculous!
I even went thru the whole they are going to offer me more deals because of my wanting to cancel.
I'm outraged with them. I hated the service.
They have just informed me that I have to contact sales to get my service cancelled again......

Visited one evening by door-to-door salesmen telling me that if I signed up for Cox phone service in addition to my Internet service, I could get a free modem upgrade. They insisted that I only had to keep the service for six months and then the modem would be free. They told me the total price of the offer over the six months were less than what it would cost me to buy the modem from Best Buy (which it mostly was.) 3/27/12 First repair response ------- Advised that monthly billing would be reduced from $120. to $92.46 per mo. Replaced splitter
Experienced continued problem with reception momentarily blacking out
4/1/12 Second repair response --------approx 6pm A second splitter (outdoors) replaced and installed lg. black box.
4/5/12 Third repair response --------Experienced continued interference after service call.
4/20/12 Fourth service response------- Finally the problem was resolved....

McLAfee Security Suite provided though DIX is garbage. Apparently unfinished and containing bugs. Mine updates several times a day and a pop-up appears in my lower right corner throughout the day stating "Your Computer is at Risk" Proceeding, I'm further told, "Real Time Scanning is Turned Off". Every attempt to turn it on fails as it turns itself off quickly afterward. MVT is a waste of time. After running it, I'm told I have several unresolved threats and then I'm led to a sales page where I'm offered to purchase their regular security suite. What a joke....

In September my Landlord informed me that beginning December 1 my rent would be increasing by $75 bucks which is something I could not afford nor did I want to as I was already overpaying.
