Bluegreen Resorts - Lies and Misrepresentation

Complaint Rating: 60 % with 5 votes
What ever you do DON'T buy anything from Bluegreen Resorts!!! Not only will you be in depth with a horrible cheap product, your credit will be destroyed. The sales representative are allowed to lie to you, so do not be fooled when they say they never would or couldn't. I have proof they do, and it doesn't even matter I am still stuck with my crappy timeshare and endless rising Maintenance Fees. Oh and if they try to say the fees will never go up or only by a little, laugh in their face. Again, they will lie to you and are told to do whatever it takes to make a sell. Oh and the whole...

Bluegreen Resorts - Tennessee - Sales Pitch

Complaint Rating: 89 % with 9 votes
We were contacted by phone by someone offering a 4 day 3 night vacation in Pigeon Forge for $129.00 and all we had
to do is attend a 90 to 120 minute sales presentation. Sounded like a good idea and we had been through this before
with them and it wasn't so bad. They said it would be ok as long as it was more than 15 months since we had done
it. Well, the presentation alone lasted 2 hours. Then we were taken individually to tables with a sales person. Right off
the bat they produced a $12, 500.00 contract for us to sign. Payments were nearly $600.00 a month. We...

Bluegreen Resorts - South Carolina, Charleston - Not being completely truthful in their gift offers for spending two hours listening to sales pith fr timeshare

We were solicited by a phone call inviting us to come to a timeshare presentation (1 1/2-2 hours )and two day vacation At their resort. In return we were promised a 100.00 gift Visa and another land vacation for four nights / three days, or a cruise for the family for the same duration.
All of this was or a cost of $189.00. We were up front with the solicitor, from the beginning, telling him that we were not interested in buying a timeshare package because of a very bad experience years ago. But, we were going to be vacationing in the Charleston, SC the city where we would listen to the two...

Bluegreen Resorts - South Carolina, Charleston - Rude/pushy sales tactics

We were approached by a salesman at Bass Pro Shops in Concord, NC for a vacation getaway for a discounted price, with the award of BassPro gift cards before & after the vacation, if we would sit through a 2 hour tour, supposedly non pressured sales tactics, on the timeshare vacation of Bluegreen resorts. So, we signed up for a Charleston SC tour, since I had never been & thought it a good idea. Overall, it was. But, we did our part & went to the sales pitch. This is where it went very rudely wrong! The salesmans name was Scott, presented on 9-10-12. When we first met him & talked to him he seemed...

Bluegreen Resorts - Tennessee - getting out of contract

Complaint Rating: 92 % with 12 votes
We were suckered into "purchasing" a weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN at Bass Pro Shops for 100.00 if we listened to a sales pitch one morning of our two day stay. First, the motel we stayed at was a dive in Pigeon Forge (guess that is so that their presentation and going thru their models look so much better)...then we spent not one, not two, but 4 plus hours listening to a sales pitch and ended up purchasing a 7000 point time...which we PAID IN FULL on that day to tune of over 10, 000.00. Then we were ushered into another office to sign more papers and be recorded. We immediately regretted...

My husband and I were told alot of things during the process of us becoming timeshare owners, that this company did not live up to. We were told that they would buy back the timeshare in the event that we coluld no longer afford to make payments, not so. We were quoted one price for yearly dues and the price was double what was quoted. We just want out and want to forget Bluegreen Resorts even exists....

Bluegreen Resorts - Georgia, Savannah - Lies, Lies, Lies!

I took a tour/sales pitch and I did sign up for a sampler package which gave me 9, 000 points that cannot be used during any major holidays, June, July nor August. Once I got home I did my research and found countless complaints on this company. My experiece was just like everyone else's. My rep was new and there was a supervisor who could make things happen and twist the numbers around. No matter what was my reply they had a cheaper points plan I could get into which made me leary. I am happy I did not sign up as an "owner" because it appears that's where the real games start....

Bluegreen Resorts - Nevada, Las Vegas - High Pressure "Soft Sale"

Complaint Rating: 100 % with 8 votes
We just returned from Bluegreen Club 36 in Las Vegas. We knew it was a timeshare pitch when we signed up. We had the privilege of staying on the property. My husband and I loved the room. It was beautifully set-up with a living room, dining area, mini kitchen and large bathroom. The people that worked the front desk were friendly and inviting. The only downfall came when we attended the 90 minute presentation which lasted 3 hrs and 45 mins. They started off with a comedian who was very funny and informative (best part of the presentation). We were given a young man who said he was new (which according...

Bluegreen Resorts - VERY Shady Operators

We attended a Bluegreen presentation in Myrtle Beach SC. The initial presenter and the sales staff were very personable. We own three weeks of timeshare, and decided for a couple of reasons to add a fourth. Big mistake.

Upon returning to our condo, I decided for the sake of safety to research some of the claims made by their staff. The had lied in the presentation on at least two important points. Based on that, we cancelled the purchase. I just received our refund check today, and guess what, it was $65 short of the the correct amount.

I should have been more wary...

Bluegreen Resorts - Lied to us in order sell points

Posted: 2011-05-06 by    Patty Sears
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 3 votes
In July of 2008, we took our grandkids to Laurel Crest, a Bluegreen Resort. We had 15, 000 points for every 2 years. On July 8th, 2008, we met with Ken and Jeannie, two Bluegreen representatives selling additional points. Both Jeannie and Ken promised us that if we bought into 12, 000 points for every year, the first year we would also carry over our 15, 000 as they were getting ready to renew August 1st. They lied to us. We did not get the 15, 000 points. We paid $10k for the 12k annual points. In a phone call to Ken in September, he even acknowledged that he probably did tell us that but he was...

We were shopping at Bass Pro and was approached by a gentleman to buy a weekend package to Big Cedar in Branson. That sounded good until we tried to book and found out this was for during the week and not the weekend. Also the folks you call do not tell you that until you have called and booked a couple of two or three times. Not a reputable company in my opinion. BAD BUSINESS.The folks are friendly but they will not tell you the truth until you ask them for a refund. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY....

Bluegreen Resorts - Florida - Take mine, please

My husband and I bought into the Bluegreen resorts in 2005. For the first couple of years, it was nice. We actually upgraded our ownership to the Gold status, 30, 000 points a year. After that it has been all downhill. Maintenance fees have more than tripled. Resort quality has declined drastically. One example, we spent time in Orlando last summer, theoven in condo did not work correctly, electric sockets did not work, no cooking appliances/utensils in kitchen to speak of, not even a frying pan. They are giving free weeks to anyone who wants one, hence all kinds of riff raff in the pool area to...

Bluegreen at Club La Pension New Orleans, LA expecting Maintenance fees based on budget sent out in October 2010--Due January 1, 2011. On January 5, 2011 (after maintenance fees due) received letter saying were closing the resort down for a year and were going to charge a special assessment of $1584 per week. No billing for the special assessment and not budget.

Resort will be closed and have not issued a true budget for the maintenance fees just said the special assessment would be larger if they did not charge the maintenance fees. Charged another special assessment a few years...

My husband and I went to Peigon Forge for our Blue Green presentation. First of all we had to drive for miles to get to the Vistor Center to pick up our paper work. We got our paper work and I was excited to find out we were staying at Laurel Crest. This was until we open the front door to the room. Entered into the front door to find a double bed (I'm 6' tall and my husband is 6'3) with a window for everyone that walks by to look staight in. The bedding looked like something out of a Motel 6. The bathroom was so small that we had to take turns getting dressed (only the one mirrow...

I have been a Blue Green Member for about 8 years. We have used and enjoed the accomadations successfuly. However, I lost my job a year and a half ago. We still continued to struggle and pay the monthly payment. We have now gotten to a point where we can't afford it and also live day to day. So after two phone calls and a letter I was informed that they did not offer any help to modify or refinance the mortgage. Iask the Non-customer service rep what my choices were, and they said stop pamking the payments and it will foreclose on you. Now if and when I do stop the payments it will ruin my...

Bluegreen Resorts - Fraud & Deceptive Sales Practices

Complaint Rating: 100 % with 11 votes
In August 2006, my husband was approached in a Bass Pro Shop sporting goods store in Orlando, FL about a wonderful vacation opportunity. We would just have to sit through a 90 minute sales pitch for the best timeshare in the world; he had to pay $59 (reservation fee), but we would get that back (if we called within 30 days to make reservation) and they would give us a $25 Bass Pro gift card, coupons and accommodations at a Bluegreen preferred partner hotel (supposedly valued at up to $175/night).
They gave us a list of resorts where we could go to hear the sales presentation and we chose...

Bluegreen Resorts - Florida, Orlando - Fraudulent Business Practices

Greg Thomas, Marketing Director, for the Vacation Package Sales Department entirely misrepresented the profitability of entering an agreement with Bluegreen to sell their vacation package. Bluegreen was supposed to get qualified tours for their Fountains Resorts Sales Department and we were supposed to be able to make a profit on the sale of the vacation package. Mr. Thomas made promises about the potenial earnings that were false, more directly he lied about the quality of the phone leads that Bluegreen provided as a client base for contact to sell the package to. Bluegreen Resorts - 5 day cooling off

My family went to a timeshare meeting at Christmas Mtn in Wisc Dells. Everything sounded great, we bought a 10, 000 point package, but after we got back to the hotel room, something just bothered me all night about getting excited and signing without even thinking about our decision. I, like many others, checked online and looked at some of the reviews, which were mostly negative. We decided to send a certified and registered letter (we sent both, just in case) stating we want to cancel our contract and wanted a refund 2 days later.

I have to admit I was very nervous during the next...
