Literally the worst furniture purchase we've made in 40 years
Literally the worst furniture purchase we've made in 40 years. Sold to us by a reputable local furniture store we trusted. Within 30 days, there were issues and they continued right up to the 1 year "warranty" mark. Now at 1 year, they are junk. The seats sag, the stuffing is junk, the material cheap. Company doesn't stand behind anything. Yyou'll be calling the store where you bought continually and their hands are tied because manufacturer won't do anything. Save yourself a headache and your money and buy anything ANYTHING else.

Purchased the Best Home Pauley chair in red leather through a local store. Within a few months, the leather on the footrest started wearing away. We have no children or pets, and this chair is only used by me in the evenings. The footrest was replaced twice under warranty, and once the warranty ran out & the problem persisted, I wad told too bad. The chair will be 3 yrs old & looks terrible. The leather is also wearing away on the arms. I have other leather furniture and have never experienced this. Cheap chair at an expensive price!

Just bought from (private used Lift recliner in good shape The remote is most ridiculous location stapled to the middle of seat back so only the curly cord comes up and not far If try and secure on arm falls down and you're sitting on it. This is truly the WORST, most uncomfortable furniture I have ever had! I have a "leather" Brodie sofa and loveseat that I bought in October which is not all leather and is peeling at the seams. The peeling issue is unsightly, making the pieces not worthy of donation. Furthermore, there is a metal bar going across leg area, making it extremely uncomfortable to recline. I do not recommend buying this brand!
Comfortable recliner. Base has broken 4 times on the side of reclining mechanism. Furniture store replaced each time. Now base part that sits in floor for the rocking mechanism has a huge open area one side and the chair will no longer rock. We are debating on tossing the chair and burning it or trying to order another base. The furniture store we purchased from is no longer owned by the same people or they would likely make it right.
We've had our loveseat recliner for about a month. it is not as comfortable as I expected to be. The recliner works fine on the right side but the one on the left make noises and isn't smooth in movement.

I filed this complaint in August . So 4 years for expensive chairs used part time.. I think they should have replaced them at least at coast.

Purchased a power recliner less than a year ago. Chair is a not worth the money. They will not repair the chair or replace. they send me to where I purchased the chair and the place I purchased the chair sends me to them. I have proof of purchase and model number. Serial number of power cord etc. Seems after all that I am missing a tag with the product number, come on the invoice shows the chair the model. The chair doesn't rock without making a clicking noise. When reclining the motor keeps running. The chair leans to the left. Piece of crap. I would not buy another piece of furniture from this company.
I bought a best home Furnishings recliner 2 years ago and the mechanism broke. I weigh 150 lbs, I'm the only one that sits in it. They refused to honor the warranty because a tag was missing from underneath it. There was no evidence there had ever been a tag attached to it. Instead of honoring the lifetime warranty on the mech. They charged me $200 for a replacement I installed my self.
Waited 9 months for order then they sent the wrong corner piece. Box is correct but unit inside is wrong color , wrong style. Store is not helping to get this corrected. Horrible customer service all around. I would never order anything from them again. It was not cheap either. They don't even rate 1 star but that was the lowest I could go

We purchased a lovely wing back chair 3 years ago. A few days ago a spring broke loose. We had a repair person look at the chair & we discovered when making the chair the piece of wood used for the frame was warped. Therefore the spring broke loose. The store we purchased it from is closed. I believe most North American made furniture has a 5 year warranty on the frame (without purchasing a extended warranty). Best Home Furnishing will not cover the cost of repair even though they used damaged wood when making the chair. Disappointed to see that a North American Company will not live up to a standard of higher quality.

I purchased a leather sectional from a furniture store nearby almost a month ago and after 3 weeks of use, 3 legs on two different pieces have collapsed. I started looking at the construction and these legs are held on using staples and some brad nails! Literally nothing behind the legs to even support the legs either! The construction of this sectional is terrible and we paid $4k for it! The store I purchased from is coming out to look at it tomorrow but judging by how I've read they handled other situations like this, I'm not hopeful for a satisfactory outcome. Do not buy furniture from this manufacturer.

On March 3 I ordered and paid one yard of material through a Canadian Retail Store. This material had to be ordered from the South Carolina manufacturer to match the two custom chairs that we bought from same store. This was two full weeks before Canadian-US borders were shut down due to Covid. The Best Furniture company returned to work the first week of May. Couriers between Canada-US have not stopped. Since then the supplier here in Canada cannot get any response as where and when this order will be delivered. Twelve weeks, five of which the supplier has been open for production. It is one yard of material that could be here in two days by courier. Customer service to the retailer and the customer disgusting.

In 2016 we bought a leather couch and love seat
In 2016 we bought a leather couch and love seat. The love seat has held up well because it is not used. Within the first 2 years, one seat had to be replaced and padding had to be added after the put in the new one. One motor had to be replaced on the other side. After replacing the seat they said they would not do any more to fix the couch. Since then and less than four years the fake leather is pealing in different places. I did call and they told me to call the place I bought it. They have been out of business now for over a year. We bought Best furniture because it is supposed to be made in the US. The quality is worse than any I have bought from anywhere else. I am in the market for new furniture and will never consider anything made by this company.

Do not, under any circumstance, buy any furniture made by this company. We bought a loveseat in 2015 in *** Florida, where we winter for 6 months. Tag said leather. Within 2 seasons (1 yr. of use) by the 2 of us the "leather" peeled off like thin paper. I started to search online & found out the dual recliner loveseat we bought was NOT leather at all. It had many complaints, none of which were settled by this company. I called to speak & they said "sorry".
Any furniture store I go into I warn store managers & shoppers not to buy. They have more models that look just like that now. We paid $1400 for junk. Got no satisfaction. I share my personal experience with every shopper I can. I am a proud Indiana resident, but this company is an embarrassment. Buy from the furniture stores in *** Indiana.
Best brand is absolute worst
Best brand is absolute worst. After less than 2 years, mechanism that reclines broke. Took almost 6 months from filing claim to repair. Two months after repair it broke again. We used recliner maybe 10 times. Now they are declining second claim saying our warranty only covers one replacement of a part. We can't even sell the furniture because it is not only broken. The leather on the back of the pillows is all cracked and peeling. Customer service department is so difficult, you'd better take a day off to get through to them. You call, stay on hold 20-30 minutes and then they transfer you to someone who will help you, but that's another 20-30minutes. That's their standard opening procedure. It's probably to frustrate you so you give up. I called the store where I purchased from but they said , that's how it is. They have to go through the same BS. Stay away. Don't buy b

I purchased a recliner made by Best Home Furnishings from a store called The *** in *** Michigan. The chair came in a box. We assembled the chair and the stuffing in the chair was flatter on one side of the seat, and the back of the chair feels twisted when you sit in it. The *** would not take the chair back or exchang it. They only wanted to talk us through how to add more padding ourselves or we could bring it back to the store and they would see if they could fix it. After a lengthy phone call of getting no help I sent a message to Best Home Furnishings. They responded as if they never even read my complaint. They said I had to resolve the issue of the defective chair through the store of purchase. Now I am stuck with a $508.00 chair that we are not comfortable sitting in. I haven't seen such poor customer service ever. I was reaching out for help and received none. No one apologized or even justified my complaint. They both basically said we have your money, now go away.

(That original sofa purchased in June had issues itself with seems not matching and upholstery tried to fix ) They took the sofa purchased in June back on October after we ordered second sofa of another brand. The second sofa was delivered around March 4 21 and sofa began to break down within days. The seat cushions are sagging and the back is also breaking down. Sent text after 7 days after delivery to saleswoman Cheri who sent out service. Who then sent out an upholsterer who said they were breaking down. He replaced stuffing in the back. He told us he could put in a cushion in the seats for about 450 dollars. He indicated Fish would not pay for that. We already paid approximately 1500 for the sofa! After he left I called Ray the mgr at Fish who listened and then called back and stated they couldn't pay for cushions. I want them to pay for the fix of the sofa. They claim to be a quality furniture store and stand behind their furniture. We started this purchase in June and still have a substandard sofa.

We purchased a matching pair of power recliners which were described as "wall away" but are more really "wall savers" in Aug. 2018. We have to keep them at least 10" from the wall which makes them farther out in the room wasting valuable space. After a few months, the padding in one was basically compressed to the point of the backrest having no lumbar support and the bottom cushion leaving me sitting on the seat frame rail. I complained to the local manager and his solution was to give me a bag of stuffing for me to do myself. I am a senior so that won't happen. After a long and aggravating inquiry, and several emails and calls, I finally got someone at the factory customer service to agree to send an agent to fix the problem at my home. When he arrived, he stuffed padding and fluff in the weak points, and forced me to sign a paper stating a one time visit. It is now a couple months later and back to the original problem. I am 205# but my wife, who weighs more than that, hasn't had the same issues with hers. As soon as the pandemic threat is over, my chair will go and I'll go back to the place where I bought my previous one that lasted 20 years but cost more.

They are the worst recliners we have bought. We had two lazy boy recliners for 17 years. Infact they are still being used. These chairs are awful to sit in. infact I have to put a pillow in my chair to sit in it. I went to the furniture store I bought them at. I wanted them to come and get the chairs and give my money-back. The store sales person told me. THAT YOU DONT DO THAT. I have been trying to get something done for months now. I was told they were getting stuffing that I could put in myself. I told them we haven't even had them for a year and I am not putting the stuffing in myself. I finally called again a couple of weeks ago and was told that this is normal wear and tear. And that we have had them for a year. I told them when we started trying to get something done it hadn't been a year. Then I got a call back a little later that day and amazing they finally got the stuffing for my chairs. Was told material has-been on back order. Which is probably true. When I use my foot rest my legs are on wood. I want to buy things made on America. But, I feel that the manufacturer should stand behind their products. Doesn't deserve a star rating if you don't do anything about the bad products.

I purchased a sectional on 09/05 that should have been two end power recliners, two armless chairs, one wedge, and one armless recliner. I received 5 recliners and a wedge after a 17 week wait receiving the couch 12/31. To top it off the fit and finish is terrible and this has to be the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. I am am disabled and after 10 to 15 minutes of sitting the hot spots caused are unbearable. With the couch having 5 recliners there are steel bars at every seat which makes laying down impossible due to the steel bars digging into your side. There's stuffing stuck in the headrest zipper, no safety pins for the sectional were provided, and one of the power recliners seat backs arrived damaged. This has been the absolute worst purchase of my life and that's saying a lot. I have tried to contact Best Home Furnishings and they simply throw it back to the retailer. I am now stuck sitting on an old chair looking a couch that I didn't order and is entirely too uncomfortable to sit on. I only wish I had read all the reviews here prior to my purchase and I could have saved my money, time, sanity, and most importantly my constant aggravation at a couch configuration I did not order and can't use because it is terribly uncomfortable. I would like my money returned and Best Home Furnishings can do whatever they please will with this horrendous set of recliners that has been passed off as a couch. Dissatisfied and disappointed is a monumental understatement. This is sad because I expect more from a company claiming to have built something with "pride" one the United States. This is far from the case.

I too purchased 2 Petite Electric Costilla Recliners in Sept 2017 from J.C.Penney online after really doing alot of research on the chairs.(ID # [protected].002 dated 9/18- Fabric # 28599-U Taupe) It was with enormous disappointment that this past October we noticed that the faux leather is peeling on both chairs! This is obviously a textile problem, because I was told by customer service that in Dec. 2017 the material used on my chairs was discontinued. Our problem may have taken longer to show because we had not been living in our apt full time since March due to the Covid virus putting us in Quarantine. I know that I do not stand alone, having read all of these complaints. I'm quite frankly surprised that Best would allow Barbara to say over and over again that the chair is past warranty with this identical kind of problem. Or better yet we should have taken the extended warranty-Which doesn't cover this problem! I thought I was buying a quality product from a family owned company. At the very least to build brand trust and keep customers, you should be standing behind your name and offered all of these customers some form of compensation - Whether it be in the form of a credit or replacements. Consumers when purchasing expensive furniture do not plan on it lasting less than 3 years. Generally they expect with normal use and maintenance that it should last at least 5-10 yrs. I had no idea I was purchasing "Disposable furniture". Although my main market is office furniture, where I sell high quality furniture, I could never imagine not making every effort to keep a customer! As I said at the beginning of this review. I did alot of research to find the chairs I bought for size, style and comfort. I love the chairs and would even consider reupholstering them with a quality material except that reupholstery is not inexpensive. Even Ikea sends out recalls on product defects! You should have used your I.D. reference system to reach out to customers when you realized there was a problem with the material. Or when someone called and complained, should have had "ready" your offer for compensation. I'm left with 2 chairs, tattered in my living room and I'll have to dispose of them. I'd written to this company via email and I've never gotten a response. I know it reached them because I got a notification when they opened the email. I gave them an opportunity to come back to me offering some kind of compemsation before I go viral on social media and reach out to the American Home Furnishings Association that inducted their founder Clem Lange into their Hall of Fame. Obviously they do not care.

l purchased a leather recliner from Best Furniture. Mechanism and seat cushion were not assembled correctly. The mechanism for the foot rest was assembled incorrectly and the seat cushion is lopsided. The furniture store adjusted the mechanism and it now works. The cushion could only be fixed by a contractor and l would have to pay for it. The chair could not be replaced with another one and l could not get my money back so l am writing to complain about the service from the manufacturer. Cost of chair $699, times l had to bring it back to the furniture store twice. Purchase date:8/13. Wall hugger *** XXXXX-L steel. Payment: cash. *** Furniture store *** NC. American Craftsmanship? Bought this chair from Carolina Furniture on [protected] L V XXXXXL GREY $640.93 On Sept 1 2020 i noticed arms were working lose further inspection i seen holes in the leather from wood pushing against leather. Because arms of frame worked lose which caused damage to chair Best Home Furnishings warranty varies depending on the product type. Recliners Limited lifetime warranty of the frame against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser Limited lifetime warranty of the reclining mechanisms against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser 1 year warranty on the foam, padding, sinuous wires and coil springs 5 year warranty on encased spring foam cushions. Note lifetime warranty on frame but deny to repair leather the frame caused. This is from Best I have received a response from Best, the manufacturer, and they have let me know that, unfortunately, the manufacturer's warranty expired on your chair on 1/23 so there is nothing more we can do. So which is it the frame is life time that caused the tears the leather did not tear it self and or caused by any other source other than lifetime frame defective.

When it was first delivered, it was a rocker, so they returned it to be refitted to a regular recliner. At that time, I questioned if it was the correct chair. Then the chair was brought to me again and the footrest did not remain up when the chair was reclined. When the technician came to repair it, it did not correct the problem.Here is the issue. Being handicapped, I am extremely particular as to what I will sit on. In deciding on a chair when I was in the showroom, I measured the chair first for the seat height and then checked the arm rests for stability. I was able to comfortably sit in the chair and get up from it easily. After the chair was delivered, I noticed right away that the chair was not as the one in the showroom. I told them I would come in and check out the chair to see what was different. Unfortunately, they sold that chair off the showroom floor so I could not check it out. In trying to settle, they offered me three choices (one was a chair lift that I would need to pay $500 more, a rocker which I cannot sit on, and another chair that was not a recliner). Obviously, the chair is not to the same specifications as the one I sat in on my initial visit. The seat sits lower and the armrests are very padded and do not offer me the support I need to get up. Even when the technician came to the house to fix the footrest, I asked why would I select a chair that I could not recline in or get out of and he agreed.As they are unable to get me a chair I can sit on, I would like to have the chair picked up and my money refunded. After taking delivery of 2 Leather recliners in August, they immediately began to show undue wear. The chairs were special ordered to be covered in the finest quality leather that was possible and I trusted them to last years. I emailed the company and sent them pictures and told them that the covering was inferior to my expectation and was told they turn warranty issues over to the dealers individually. I contacted the dealer and was given an opportunity to purchase 2 more chairs at cost. I had the dealer come to my home and view the chairs and he agreed they were falling apart in an unreasonable amount of time. He also took pictures. He contacted the Best company salesman and was told the warranty was up and there was no recourse for me. The initial charge for the 2 recliners was 1700.00 so I was offered 2 more chairs at a cost of 500.00 each. This would be an additional 1000.00 which was unacceptable. The fabric on these chairs is flaking off daily and even has developed holes where the mechanics of the chair are. In my opinion I did not receive the quality of covering that I paid for and I feel the company is unfair in not standing behind their products. Everyday that goes by more fabric deteriorates, even in places that no bodily parts touch, it just powders off. I once again contacted the dealer and asked him to contact Best again and once again I was offered to have 2 more chairs sold to me at cost. Unacceptable I feel, so I again contacted the dealer and asked if perhaps these 2 could be recovered. I received a message from dealer that stated that may be an option and he would get back to me. That last contact was on April 28 of 2020 and I have not heard further. Each day that goes by these chairs get older and more despicable in condition. I have been fighting this battle for over a year and have no resolve as of yet. I ask for help in solving this issue and at this time I would like a 50 per cent refund. Don't waste your money! Paid for five year warranty in 2015, which has now expired and leather couch is now splitting along front of couch. Five star repair shop said it would be a waste of my money to fix the one small tear, as it is breaking along the seam and is actually vinyl - not leather. Called the store that we purchased from and they can do nothing. They were under the impression that vinyl was only used where it wouldn't be touched.
Just got my 2 recliners and I looked them over and they are just fine, great seats,comfortable and made in America thank God. First new furniture we have ever bought.
Ordered a recliner in early April and it still hasn't arrived. Have called/emailed to attempt to get additional details with no luck. Very disappointing to say the least.
