I bought some 6.3 liter barrels from BarrelsOnline and followed the instructions to condition them before filling them with my wine and bourbon mixes. Unfortunately, all of them leaked at some point. I contacted the company and they asked for videos, but I didn't have any because I had already emptied the barrels. They said they would take them back, but I haven't heard anything since. I'm really frustrated and considering taking legal action because I feel like they should stand behind their product.

I've had a lifetime of woodworking and wooden boat work, so I'll see what I can get it to do.

However, the package is now coming after Christmas, and I am still waiting for a response to my email.

I was really excited to get my hands on a 5 liter barrel from BarrelsOnline. After waiting for what felt like forever, the package finally arrived. But when I opened it up, I was disappointed to find that the spigot and bung stopper for the fill port were missing. I immediately reached out to the company to let them know what had happened.

At first, they didn't believe me and told me to check the package again. I did, but the missing items were nowhere to be found. I continued to email them every day for three days, trying to get a tracking number for my missing items. Finally, they responded and admitted that they had made a mistake and forgot to ship the missing items with the barrel.

I was relieved to hear that they were going to ship the missing items out that day. But I was also frustrated that it took so long for them to admit their mistake and do something about it. I think they should have expedited the shipping and sent the missing items out for next day delivery to make up for their mistake.

I bought 6 barrels from BarrelsOnline, 2 of them were 10 liters and 4 were 20 liters. At first, they looked pretty good and sealed up nicely within a day or two. However, after about 6 months of aging, two things happened. First, the aging process stopped and the color and flavor of the contents didn't change anymore. Second, the barrels started to leak. The leaks were small, but they cost me about 30% of the contents. I contacted BarrelsOnline and they told me that I should check the barrels often and use barrel wax liberally. I guess it's my fault for not checking them every day.

Anyway, I decided to switch to Redhead barrels and I've been getting much better results. No leaks and the aging process is much faster. As for BarrelsOnline's response to my complaint, they told me that I wasn't even a customer! Can you believe that? I had to remind them of my order history:

I mean, come on. Lying is not an acceptable response to bad customer service. Overall, I would not recommend BarrelsOnline. Their barrels may look good at first, but they don't hold up over time. Save yourself the trouble and go with Redhead instead.

The barrels themselves are pretty nice and the embossing is pretty cool because it's on the barrel and not on a piece of wood glued to the barrel. However, I had some issues with my order. I contacted customer service and they said they would send me a replacement. But it's been two whole months now and I still haven't received it yet. That's a pretty long time to wait for a replacement. Overall, I think BarrelsOnline is a decent website to buy barrels from, but they could definitely improve their shipping and customer service.

So, I decided to get myself a Whisky Advent Calendar from BarrelsOnline. I paid 50 bucks for it, but when I got my package, I was pretty disappointed.
