Alan's Factory Outlet What a bad company

What a bad company. I placed my order at the end of June and here it is Oct. 13th, 2020, and I still don't have my 20x21 carport. I sent a ton of emails and tried very hard to make it work. But here we are around 14 weeks later and still no carport. The scheduler "Carolina Carports" called several times and they no-showed for about 2 weeks. I would highly suggest not doing business with them. I could have purchased local or just build a carport and still would have been done 3 months ago.

Ordering was easy as usual, waiting on delivery. This is my 3rd carport from Alan's, only issue I've had, is the installers didn't call the morning of installation for directions, and they were fixing to put it in my neighbors concrete slab. Luckily I knew they were coming that day, but they was supposed to call again to follow me to the installation site, so I didn't go to work awaiting their call. They went by GPS, this particular site was at my camp, and GPS coordinates are wrong, but I heard them at my neighbors and went down the rd and advised them they were at the wrong spot. This 3rd one is also going to the camp, but all they have is my home address to avoid any confusion, they can come here, and they can follow me. All in all, I am very pleased with the product.

Alan's Factory Outlet Alan's Factory Outlet doesn't even deserve one star!

Alan's Factory Outlet doesn't even deserve one star! When they say 30-90 days they truly mean 90 days! And now, it's not even being installed by them. It's being handled by Carolina Carports. My install date was scheduled then the truck broke down and now due to weather and lack of truck they can't even give me an estimate! Worst company ever! I tried to cancel and get my deposit back but they won't do that until after the 90 days! I will never use this company or recommend them to anyone! BEWARE!

The ordering process was very straight forward. I did have to call to have a lean to added to the structure as the 3D builder is not able to do that yet. They were very helpful on the phone. Can't wait to get my concrete poured so we can get this structure up!

Alan's Factory Outlet I ordered a 20X20 shed in December to match the other buildings on our property

I ordered a 20X20 shed in December to match the other buildings on our property. I was told that it would probably be March before it was delivered. The purchase process was very easy and communication was excellent. I got a call at the end of January that they were going to install. Had to cancel once but got me in a week later. The crew came onsite at 4:00PM and worked until it was completed. Excellent product and service and the installation crew was very thorough, courteous and organized. Would highly recommend.

We purchased a carport a couple of years ago. the process was smooth. User friendly on the website, and punctual. We were in Hurricane Ian (direct hit) and it was a devastating Hurricane! After 22 hours, we were able to go outside and access the damages. Our carport was STILL STANDING! Not a dent on it! Did not move! I am so pleased with the quality and stability of their product! I recommend anyone needing carports, garages, ect to check Alan's Factory Outlet out!

Alan's Factory Outlet Carport is nice, though not actually sold or installed by Allan's

Carport is nice, though not actually sold or installed by Allan's. They are just a broker. Bigger problem is my neighbors don't like it and turned me in to the city. Turns out I need a building permit for the Carport after being told I don't. Pretty sure I can get the permit, but it's going to be a hassle. Plus their scheduling totally sucked, and not because of the Covid 19, lots of miscommunication with the installers. Check with your municipality before having it installed. The fine print in their contract says all permits are the buyers responsibility-sigh.

I ordered the 22x36 carport on 4/20 with the deposit the sub-contractor failed to show after 2 install dates then after two months of waiting, alans factory give me the number to call the sub-contractor they hired to install the carport, I didn't call told them its not my job its there responsibility , they will tell you more excuses, so DONT DO BUSSINESS WITH THEM this is from a 1 time buyer hire a local dealer in your state, Because they don't care about you as a Customer ,, like dealing with F-TROOP ,so think before you step in this pile ! the song take the Money & RUN ,,,,,,,,, SHOULD BE alans THEME SONG .. Alan's Factory Outlet Your website made it easy to get an idea of what it would cost to replace my damaged carport

Your website made it easy to get an idea of what it would cost to replace my damaged carport. I enjoyed using your create your own model. Seeing what it would look like, mix and matching colors of sides and roof metal and getting a price total as I went through the different options was great. I spent hours trying to find metal carports and made several calls to local companies and never got a call back. Your price was right in line with the insurance company replacement estimate with the added bonus of free delivery and installation. The only contractor I could get to come out and do an estimate wanted $10,000 to replace the carport, way over insurance coverage. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Alan's Factory Outlet I purchased a metal building from Alan's in August and they contracted the install with another company which was installed in September,

I purchased a metal building from Alan's in August and they contracted the install with another company which was installed in September . Well, it finally started to rain in January and the building leaks. I contacted Suzie at Alan's and she said the warranty was only good for 3 months but said she would contact the installing company and have them contact me. It's been almost a month and I have not heard from ANYONE. The building quality is poor and the installation was terrible. When the building was being installed I asked why they didn't seal the seals and I was told it wasn't needed. Now it leaks. Terrible service! I will be adding another building but it won't be from Alan's! If you need a building go with some one that stands behind their product and installation NOT Alan's!.

Alan's Factory Outlet I ordered a boat shed back in August 13

I ordered a boat shed back in August 13. It is now January 4 and I'm still waiting for my shed to be delivered. It has been almost 6 months (1/2 a year) and still nothing. Wondering why this is because I am a returning customer and never had this issue before. Mind you I did take into account that we are in a pandemic but i work in a mill where we have over 400 plus employees and still manage to get job done. I am very displeased and dissatisfied with the performance and service i have received. And yet again the only response I have received from them is when I had to contact and ask if and when i would receive my order. And i get a response back that it may take another month or more due to weather . Would no longer recommend that anyone does business or purchases anything from this business. They do not honor or keep their end of agreement. Sad that they treat people in this manner. Take your money and then treat you like your inconveniencing them by trying to get what you paid for. Alan's Factory Outlet Absolutely horrible and disgraceful

Absolutely horrible and disgraceful. Ordered a garage on 8/17 hoping for a spring installation. We revised the shed in April and knew that they would not schedule us before foundation was completed. We had to get proper approvals on location and permit requirements then Covid hit. We kept ALANS GARAGES updated on our progress. In October we had approval and our site was ready and ALANS GARAGES notified. ALANS GARAGES had taken our deposit in 2018 and was always polite when we spoke. We waited through the winter of 2020 until in April we received a call from Carolina Carports that they had a date of install for us. Since the location of the garage is not our primary residence I tried to make arrangements to get there but was only given a couple days notice. When I called Carolina Carports back the woman "Gloria" rudely expressed they had to move on and give our date away. I told her that since this was not our primary residence we needed a little notice for installation, when asked when the next date of installation would be she told me she could not tell me. Its now November and we have no garage and no expected date of installation, just the answer "When they get back in your area they will call". I tried calling Alan's Garages but the answer I receive is we are only sales you ordered your garage through Carolina Carports. I ordered my garage from ALANS GARAGES and have my receipt to show this. I have noticed that on Carolina Carports put up message on their website they do not serve New York area anymore but will honor all orders made before this change in policy. Here's my message for both ALANS GARAGES and Carolina Carports, get my garage installed I am not cancelling and will continue to put these reviews in ComplaintsBoard.com until I have my garage. I placed my carport order Dec. 26, 2020 against my better judgment after reading reviews on ComplaintsBoard.com. Prices were better than others, & I told myself surely these were isolated cases. Back then, prices were affordable. I understood I live in Kansas so didn't expect to see delivery anytime soon. But by May 25 I was wondering, so emailed Alan's, since calling gets you nowhere. Response said I could expect it late summer/early fall, since they were 120-180 days out & they didn't even count winter months, which I had no idea about. I remained patient, even after purchasing another vehicle & having nowhere to store it. By Oct. 4 I had lost that patience, & sold that vehicle. I emailed again, told them I knew they were waiting me out because prices had gone up & they would now be losing money. A reply stated it was possible Carolina Carports lost my order. What a strange thing to say. So I was not shocked when later in the day I received an email stating yes, Carolina Carports lost my order. I waited yet another month & never received a phone call as promised in Oct. The next reply to my email on Nov. 8 was to offer me a refund. I waited until Dec. 17 to email I wanted to cancel. I still felt like the company would make good and deliver what was promised, and what I'd signed a contract for. They couldn't respond fast enough to write me a check to return my full refund. Imagine my surprise when on Jan. 26 I got a voicemail from Carolina Carports stating they had my carport loaded on the trailer & would be at my house on Jan. 31 to install! In the middle of winter no less. I can't tell you how tempting it was to let them come, but I'm an honest person. I called them back, and aghast she asked me, "who told you we lost your order?" I said Alan's did, plus it's been 13 months since I ordered! I have received my refund, & don't expect anything from this company (though a simple apology would have been nice) but feel others should be aware. Companies can not blame Covid forever!

Alan's Factory Outlet I had signed a contract July 1st to have a carport installed within 6-8 weeks

I had signed a contract July 1st to have a carport installed within 6-8 weeks. It is now November 11 and have yet to receive a phone call from this company. Any time I call them I'm being told "I'm sorry were having delays, it will be next month possibly ". I've heard that the last 3 months. This company has the worst service I've ever had to deal with. I've never even considered filing a complaint until dealing with this company.

Purchased a garage. Garage was built with damaged 10X10 roll up door. Have contacted the company twice, who in turn scheduled the door to be replaced twice. On both occasions, the company did not show to perform the work, although marked the job completed. I have taken two days off of work (I'm a nurse) and lost two days wages. My door is still broken and the company is no responsive to my concerns.

Ordered in November .. still have no garage. Have called several times and were told they were months behind and rep was rude when asked to give an approximate time for delivery. Last time we contacted them was around first of May and was told we were next on schedule and they would contact us end of the month. Its now almost mid June and we still have not heard from them.

Alan's Factory Outlet On 3/13, I attempted to purchase a product from Alan's Factory

On 3/13, I attempted to purchase a product from Alan's Factory. I was able to complete my design but was unable to pay due to an issue with the company's website. On 3/13, an email was sent to me from Alan's to try and complete the order but I was still unable to via the email. On 3/15, I call Alan's to complete the purchase via phone and was told that the product was now $$2000 more than originally priced. I explained to different customer service rep my issue and both said that even with my email record they will not honor the original price quoted. Because the was an issue with the company's website with did not allow me to pay at the time of my original attempt to purchase, having me pay a surcharge is unethical.

Hi, I ordered a shed that was to cost about $8300 which includes materials and construction and sent a deposit for $1440 around October 14. Then I had to provide photos that my shed foundation was complete and sent those in November. They told me they would schedule the build, but never returned a call. About March 15 of this year I called again and they said they would try to have the garage built around June or July which seems extremely excessive. I've left a message at [protected] (their scheduling department) and just tried calling it again and now it just rings and I can't even leave a message to find out the status.

Alan's Factory Outlet My husband and I placed an order for a 24 x 36 Garage on September 24

My husband and I placed an order for a 24 x 36 Garage on September 24. We paid a deposit of $1,632.00 and were told that our shed would be delivered in January. We are located in Illinois so we assumed that the delivery date would be pushed back due to the winter weather. It is now May 4 ... 222 days after we placed our order. We have sent numerous emails and made many phone calls to only be told that it will be "delivered soon" or to be sent to a voicemail box that obviously is never followed up on. We have been told weekly since March that we will be receiving a call to set up a delivery date and time and that call never comes. Hopefully filing this complaint will spark some sort of communication and lead to quick resolution.

Alan's Factory Outlet We ordered a carport in July and they charged our **** $1,500

We ordered a carport in July and they charged our *** $1,500. They scheduled a delivery date 9/28 but then THEY canceled. Now they are saying they can't give us a new date for delivery and might not be until February . I learned after ordering the carport this must be an issue with most orders because in their reviews there are multiple complaints. This is really poor business and customer service. If I cancel, I lose a portion of the down payment and feel helpless. Other consumers need to know that their commitment to deliver is very poor and the lead time of receiving an order is 6 months to a year. I'm not asking to help my situation but to inform others that they over promise on delivering and don't expect a delivery date they commit to.

I purchased a 30x31 carport and upgraded the carport to reflect PA winters, according to the representative, and paid an upcharge for the upgrades. The carport collapsed under the weight of a snowfall and damaged my camper. I contacted Alan's Factory Outlet for a replacement, since it was well under the one year warranty period and was told there's nothing they can do since the carport wasn't rated for that much snow. The representative from Alan's also told me to turn it in to my insurance company since it should be covered. The carport was delivered and set up by a contractor from Alan's Factory Outlet on Memorial Day weekend 2020 and it collapsed in February . I was charged an extra $150 for installation, above what I paid to install over a camper...something I wasn't told by the company. The total came to $6300.

Alan's Factory Outlet I ordered a garage from Alans in August

I ordered a garage from Alans in August . It is mid-May and I am dealing with their subcontractor ***, who will only tell me, rudely, "we'll call you 3-5 business days in advance". Not what month, or even what year. I feel like a hostage at this point. At no point did Alans staff mention "oh hey, you realize you're looking at nearly a year to get your garage right?" I'm not ignorant and didn't expect it delivered in the winter but exactly no one has been straight with me and still aren't. I lost $4k on the pad built to their specs, value on the classic car I bought it to house and just want done with both companies. And my deposit back. I know what the contract says. I also know staff and the website (since tweaked) misrepresented Alan's services. I don't think I should be on hook for $1100 for being BS'd, embarrassed, spinning my wheels and losing value & money.

Alan's Factory Outlet On January 21 we ordered a carport garage metal building from Allans factory outlet

On January 21 we ordered a carport garage metal building from Allans factory outlet. We put a deposit of $928. We were told that we would have the carport between 90 and 120 days. It has now been over that. We have sent emails and repeatedly tried to contact them. They have no delivery date insight. We asked specifically to have it by June 29 because my daughter got married on that day. They still have no delivery in sight.Is there any way that we can get the building delivered within the next two weeks or get a refund of our $928 deposit. We are getting nowhere with Allens factory outlet. Attached I will show you the contract and apparently *** is who they are going to use to assemble the building, but the building hasn't even left the outlet. It has been well over 120 days and we are tired of waiting . AlsoWe paid for a permit and that permit has an expiration date.

Like the product/concept but not the installers! They finished my unfinished fully enclosed building with vapor barrier 3/18. They left me tape to finish their job so they could go home. They did not tape one seam and left me two rolls short or it would be done by now and we wouldn't be here. I communicated with CCI that I would do it and insisted we did not want that crew back (hardly speak English, inept and defecated in our woods). I bought tape I thought would work and tried to tape the seams and failed because their tape is proprietary. Trying to get tape from CCI and they said the only way it was going to get done is to send the same crew back out (without a date) and get it done. Really? Why on God's green earth would we want this crew back to finish their job. Who is CC trying to punish, the contractor or US? Get a new crew out here NOW or send me the TAPE NOW! I am confined to 1000 characters but I could go on and on.

I had ordered a barn from Alans factory outlet in July, after 2 cancelations, the crew was supposed to show up on the 4th of December, they then canceled again after I had taken off work again! They finally showed up at noon on the 5th of December. They did not bring the correct color of metal and it is only half completed the building. I was told I would be notified on monday the 7th about rescheduling the finished job. On the 8th I had not heard anything, So i called Alans. they said that they did not know about the issue. They said that they would have Carolina carports call me. I still have not heard from them. I called the Monday of prior to Christmas and they said they would not be able to finish it till after mid January. I asked for a manager. they said they couldn't do anything about it. Asked for a discount - they said they don't do discounts. I called Alans. The girl Christie was the nicest person I have talked with. But still Carolina carports has not contacted me.

Alan's Factory Outlet I ordered a garage from Alan's Factory Outlet and have been left with a unusable, leaking, and incomplete building which they have just pulled

I ordered a garage from Alan's Factory Outlet and have been left with a unusable, leaking, and incomplete building which they have just pulled out the remaining payment for as if its finished. The problems with the building include the wrong garage door was installed which also the lock wont latch on because it doesn't line up. Also all 5 windows that were installed are severely leaking allowing water penetration on 3 sides of the building making it unusable, anything put in the building would either get wet from the leaking and destroyed or mold from the water infiltration. I have tried reaching out to the manufacturer and haven't gotten a response to my messages. I have also reached out to Alan's Factory outlet, sent photos of the incorrect garage door and video of the leaking and haven't received any indication on when or if the building will be completed and made usable. But they just took the rest of the money out of my account as if its complete and left me a unusable building.

Alan's Factory Outlet I ordered two metal buildings July 30th

I ordered two metal buildings July 30th. Delivery time was not quoted as end of Oct., at that time or I would never have ordered from them. Deposit was paid of $2394.60. About a week later, I received a call from Carolina Carports (DBA for Alan's Factory Outlet) asking me to send photos of my cement pads for buildings. After several attempts to contact them via email and telephone, we were finally told buildings *may arrivearound Oct. 29th. This delivery time if totally unacceptable, as we have decided to list the property for sale. We phoned to cancel the order and were told by Christy in Customer Service they would have to keep our entire deposit. Since nothing has been done since we placed the order, this seems totally unreasonable! This message was left on voice mail 1 minute prior to their closing time. I immediately hit redial to call back and the phones were rolled over to a recording. We have made several attempts to email and phone and have not been able to get a resolution. We would have NEVER placed this order had we known the lead time was several months.

Alan's Factory Outlet I purchased a carport and a garage from Alan's Factory outlet on 4/23

I purchased a carport and a garage from Alan's Factory outlet on 4/23. With the car port all went well. The garage was delivered the first week of June. The workers showed up early evening and finished the job at approximately 10:45 at night. When it became dark they worked with small headlamps. I could not inspect the building after completion because of the darkness and I left early next morning to go back to work in Seguin. I was not able to inspect the building till about a week later. I found areas around the bottom rails were very jagged and the sheet metal sides in some areas did not even meet the concrete slab by as much as a half inch. During the 2nd and 3rd weeks of September we had severe weather so I went back to Eldorado to check out the buildings. When I went into the garage there was water all around the floor that was coming from around the sides of the structure. I took pictures and called Alan's Factory Outlet. I spoke to Melissa L and explained everything. Melissa told me to send her pictures so she could send them to the scheduler to get a work order written up. I sent he the pictures and the next day I had an e-mail from *** telling me that I could buy aftermarket sealant. I told her that the sheet metal had been cut jagged did not meet the concrete and in spots it went as high as 1/2 an inch up the side of the base rail. Her response to me was that she "was so very sorry. This is the standard for our installs." I told her I had payed for a professional job not bad craftsmanship.

Alan's Factory Outlet On 8/18, I contacted the Alan's Factory Outlet and spoke with a customer service rep, Christie

On 8/18, I contacted the Alan's Factory Outlet and spoke with a customer service rep, Christie. We spoke and she answered several questions about a 24 ft by 21 ft Metal Carport I wanted to order. She answered my questions and asked me to confirm if the location of the carport was level within 3 inches. I asked if she could call me back, allowing me to confirm and complete my order. I went to their online website, which allows the user to build and order a custom carport. The first question is state, which I answered. I made my selection for the carport and received a price of $1695.00. I completed my order and paid the required deposit. The site properly calculated the sales tax for Pennsylvania. I received email confirming my order. I was informed I would be receiving a document I need to sign to complete the order within 24 hrs. Around 11:45, Christie from Alan's called me and saw that I placed my order. She informed me that I was good to go. On 8/19, I received email from Elizabeth G informing me that i would be receiving my documents shortly and provided me delivery information. At the very end, Elizabeth informed me the cost of the Carport would be an additional $700. At that point, I contacted the company and canceled the order. I reached out and spoke with Suzie R. She informed me the reason for the change in price was that I did not select the correct state. Apparently, they charge different rates for the same product based on state. I informed Suzie that her statement was not accurate and showed her the receipt showing i selected the correct state. It interesting that I was told i did not select a state for the order but yet the company was able to properly calculate my sales tax of 8%. This is clearly a price bait and switch.
