I departed KL for Haneda last minute due to a family emergency. I bought a "+14 kg" and seat selection. When I got to the airport they insisted the +14 meant a total of 14 and weighed me in advance of security (only time in my 100+ flights that has ever happened to me). I was forced to talk to someone at the gate who started screaming at me and told me it was too late to fix, and I needed to unload 7kg or miss my flight. I unloaded most all my additional possessions and half my clothes and sprinted through the insanely long airport. I arrived dripping sweat and carrying all my things in a post security pile only to be yelled at when I asked to set my things down to get my passport out (3rd time) to show the gate agent. When I got to the plane, I saw the new ticket they had issued me had removed my seating and stuck me in an aisle seat. I am two meters tall, and having paid for the upgrade was furious by this point, and only received flack from the staff when I started to explain. I want a refund for my purchased upgrade, as well as funds for my frustration and additional costs of lost possessions.
