Adjuster’s Flooring Measurements and Cost Settlement review: Claim dn786538

We have been with AAA for over 20 years, and this is the first major damage claim we have filed. We are very disappointed with the proposed settlement.

The square footage of flooring listed on the claim estimate is incorrect. There are some missing areas and errors in measurement. I contacted the Adjuster by email and sent sketches and photos of the missing areas. I also advised her of discrepancies in the basement.

We have been very careful in our measurements of the missing areas, and I can and have clearly shown 3 missed areas. Of course, the only measurements that really count are the ones from the contractors doing the restoration for which we are paying. We obtained 2 estimates, and which clearly exceed the area listed by the Adjuster. Both estimates also greatly exceed the value/cost of the restoration. We have accepted the lower of the 2 estimates but in so doing we have had to settle for lower quality product than what we are replacing.

There is also some personal property damage discovered after the adjuster’s visit, and Servpro advised us to keep our electric bills for the current, preceding and following months to identify the additional cost attributable to the heaters used for drying.
