Great experience at LAX
My recent trip to Los Angeles was made incredibly smooth thanks to Wisecars. As someone who typically stresses about travel logistics, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and hassle-free the entire car rental process was.
Their website was intuitive and straightforward, making it simple to find the perfect vehicle for my needs. What really set them apart, though, was their exceptional customer support. I had a few questions about my reservation, and Bilol from their support team was quick to respond and incredibly helpful. Their professionalism and attentiveness made me feel confident and at ease before my trip even began.

Easy and fast booking
Simple, fast booking and cheaper than other sites. I rented a car for my family vacation through Wisecars.
It was my first time renting a car so I wanted to make sure I have all the correct documents and know all the insurance requirements. Their support was incredibly helpful in answering all my questions. They even contacted the supplier to make sure my insurance would be valid.

Stole $265 dollars from me. Told me I could cancel up to 48 hours prior but didn't give me a voucher until 48 hours before my trip. I couldn't use the vehicle bc I would be traveling to another state. I didn't know that until I had the voucher information but now it was too late to cancel. Complete scam!

Would give zero stars if I could. I booked my rental with Wisecars to pick up a rental in San Antonio with Fox Rent A Car. Fox did not have what we needed so the cancelled our reservation and said that we should call WiseCars and WiseCars would refund us. I called WiseCars and for a week they kept saying, “oh the necessary documentation isn’t in blah blah blah to process your refund. After a week of this they said that they never refund in these situations. So not only did they not refund me, they never intended to, and wasted hours more of my time calling in. In the end, it was less than $250 for me but I will never rent from these crooks again and advise everyone else to steer clear. Even if the rental car place cancels your reservation, they will not refund your money.

If zero stars were an option, that would be more appropriate. You took over $200 from me for a rental car to be picked up on October 11th at *** in which my husband would be the driver. I was encouraged to put the reservation in his name since he would be the driver. I still owed $60ish. Upon my arrival, I tried to pay with the SAME credit card you took the $200 from. I was told I could not pay that way bc the card was in my name not the driver. I offered cash, he offered his debit card, but none of that suited. Therefore, we were **** miles from home and anyone we knew. I called your office only to be told "too bad". I called back after I arrived home days later only to be told "too bad". This company has stolen from me. You took my money and the only thing i got in return was stress and panic of being stranded with literally no one to help me. I'd like my money back. There is no amount of money that you can pay me to repair the amount of stress you caused me, but you can return the $200 that you literally stole from me.

Avoid these liars
Without doubt the worst customer experience possible. I booked a hire car with these guys for a holiday. A completely different class of vehicle was provided on the day than I’d paid for which meant I had to pay the actual provider again for the car I needed.
I then tried to get a refund from wisecars for the original booking which was refused. I tried to do a chargeback with my credit card provider and wisecars lied to them to avoid the chargeback.
The only way I got my money back after nearly six months of complaining was to commence legal proceedings. Avoid at all costs

I would like to share my unfortunate experience with this farce of a service. I am autistic and not very good at these kinds of things but needed a way to get around while I visited my daughter in Phoenix. I was drawn in by the too-good-to-be-true pricing and happily paid for a reservation with Fox rent a car through the wisecars site. I intended to use a visa debit with line of credit at pickup since it said credit only and those are typically accepted as such.
Fox was awful…I tried to call them 3 times before they closed as my flight was arriving near the time they shut down at 12:30am. They never bothered to answer and nobody was at the desk when I arrived just moments late. I patiently waited until they were to open at 4am and nobody showed up. About 15 minutes later I called wisecars who were unable to help or contact anyone from Fox including the location manager. Eventually at 4:25 I finally found an agent wandering the parking garage and attempted to retrieve my reservation. The agent was impatient and rudely threw the debit card back at me without even asking if it had line of credit and unkindly told me they were unable to help. I was now stuck in Phoenix with no way around and a large part of my funds tied up. All in I was up for 40 hours dealing with this thanks to uncaring companies who view people only as numbers.
I contacted wisecars and told them of the situation. They contacted Fox who lied about my calls and claims. I showed wisecars photo evidence to back up my claims. They were unwilling to offer reasonable satisfaction and hid behind a dubious justification in their terms that only worked if they ignored my claims about how Fox handled the situation. They ignored my evidence and needs and stole from a struggling family by hiding behind "procedure" rather than having true consideration for a situation.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! AT THE VERY LEAST GO DIRECT AND SHOW THEM A SCREENSHOT OF WISECARS PRICE…THEY WILL MOST LIKELY MEET OR EVEN BEAT IT TO KEEP THE MONEY THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO WISECARS IN FEES.

Hello, recently for a trip to the United States I used the Wisecar application to rent a car.
Once I had chosen the car at a cost of €1,000 for 20 days, I paid and received a confirmation email.
About a week later I get an email saying:
* Your rental agreement may require you to have mandatory local insurance which may cause additional costs when picking up the car. We ask that you first check if you have insurance that you can use during your rental and if you also have the correct documentation confirming your insurance. Otherwise you will have to buy it when you pick up the car.
In this email, do not write an insurance price range, but say that there may be something to pay for the insurance.
Once in Los Angeles, I go to the agency to pick up the car and find out that the insurance costs $1,600, more than the cost of renting the car.
Since Wisecar is an intermediary between the rental company and the user… therefore in practice it offers the same service that a site like BOOKING could offer, it should communicate the cost of insurance before charging the rental and not after, because honestly if had I known in advance that the cost would have been 1000€ + 1600$, I would have + not rented the car and I would have opted for another choice.
Why are you behaving this way?
Because by not communicating the price of the insurance they are able to compete with serious rental agencies that communicate the price in advance.
Among other things, the agency that was proposed to us by WISECAR is called Rental Fox.
Trying to rent directly from rental Fox you will be notified of the cost of the insurance and it will be communicated before payment and not after.
After writing to the assistance service, I received a terrible answer stating that they had sent me the email where they wrote that there could be an insurance cost. But without communicating even a RANGE!
And to think your company is based in San Francisco, so let's just say they should know how insurance works in the US.
In any case I'm proceeding both on TrustPilot, and I'm proceeding with the application deletion request both on the Apple Store and on Google Play.
You will also be contacted shortly by the Italian Other Consumer portal to proceed against you.
I've already written to the assistance service, who has the courage to answer me that I had to call to find out the price of the insurance.
But which company are you? On the site you don't even dare to put the surname of the founders of the company.
But don't be ashamed to do these TRICKS to be able to compete with the serious rental companies that communicate the final price before the purchase, but you don't communicate it afterwards either.

Don’t do it!
Expect for Wisecars to keep your money and be refused a car. I rented a car through Wisecars only to be told at day of pickup that the vendor would not issue a car to me because I was traveling from Texas to Colorado and Colorado was outside their limit of travel. The car rental guy snidely told me I probably shouldn’t trust third party vendors because they don’t tell you all the rules. He said he marked my reservation as denied and to get with Wisecars for a refund.
I then had to go to another company in the airport and pay double to continue with my planned trip.
I contacted Wisecars and they told me there were no refunds and it’s clearly stated on their contract, but they would make an “exception” for me and refund 75% instead of the full amount because they still had expenses to cover in “processing” my reservation and refund. I rebutted this decision but they again shot me down in flames. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Un-Wisecars. I don’t want this happening to anyone else.
Bottom line: go with a reputable first line company that doesn’t expect payment until you actually pick up the vehicle, and DO NOT deal with third party, bottom feeding, sweatshop boiler rooms. There are no free lunches.

Horrible company!
Horrible company! After booking a car and paying for it online, I was unable to pick up at designated time due to having no transportation to begin with. I called the company 1 hour after booking to let them know I'd be another hour picking up car. No problem. Within 45 minutes, I had a friend offer me use of their car, so I called and told Wisecars I didn't need the car after all. All in all, less than 2 hours elapsed between rental and my 2 calls. Wisecars refused to cancel the booking, saying that they had been charged by the rental company. When I spoke with the rental company directly, they said they had not, in fact, charged Wisecars at all. Wisecars has still refused to credit me for a service (and I use that term generously) I never received, and when I have attempted to call them, I have been on hold for over an hour with no answer of my calls. AVOID THEM AT ANY COST!
They are awful. They advertise as 'NO HIDDEN FEES' send you a receipt after paying saying 'NO CHARGE AT PICK UP' and if you message them say 'NO FURTHER CHARGES'. Got to *** and the rental company demanded *** a hidden fee. Ruined our trip and put is in financial difficulty. We had a handicapped lady with us in a wheelchair who was in tears over this. They refuse to do anything about it now and just ignore my complaints. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY They are now ignoring my complaint about the vehicle being not up to scratch. Wisecars is the worst rental company I have ever used. They charged an initial rental fee of $206. Once you arrived at your destination in my case "***" GreenMotion car and *** was the external company that Wisecars assigned to us. Below is a copy of my receipt and the amount I agreed to pay. However, I was hit by GreenMotiom car and van rental with a $427 charge when we picked up the car.RECEIPT You have paid for these items. Price of the car $ *** Amount paid $ *** PAY AT PICK UP You will pay for these items at the counter. Price of the car $ *** Amount due at the time of collection $ *** I think that the two companies should have been clearer in their communications and warned customers of the great scam they are committing.
I found Wisecars through Kayak
I found Wisecars through Kayak. I selected an option on-line and then prepaid for that rental. It was something like $823 for the 13 days that I needed the car. Several days later, I got an email saying that the price had gone up even though I had prepaid. Ive never heard of preparing for something and then being told that the price was higher. I asked about this and was told that was the only option. I then said OK, I need the car, so lets just move ahead at the high price. Then I received an email back saying that the car I had prepaid to rent was no longer available at $853 and now would be something like $1.100. This was for the same size car that I had original prepaid at $823. That is when I cancellled. I learned this new price on the day I was to travel. Just an outrageous bait and switch. Never again, and I will tell everyone I know directly and on line, never to rent through Wisecars.
I had bad experience . My plane arrived late in Rome. My car reservation canceled due to know show on time. I had to rent a car from others. When i asked for refund it was denied. They did not pay rental place for car and kept all my money . The car company said they cancel do to no show and return money to wisecars. i did not read the fine print. just be aware if your on a plane and don't notify them you will not get a refund. i paid in full months before pick up. thinking that the rental was paid for and secure. they paid the car company zero and kept all my money including the protection fee. Jus t be aware . Honestly best to go direct through car rental place not this third party.
I had a similar experience to many, thought I booked 5 days but ended up with 4, and at a higher rate than what I saw on Kayak. I was then charged double the higher daily rate by dollar for the extra day. I will steer clear of wisecars in the future.

I give them one star because there is no zero star option. We booked an SUV on a one week rental for a ski trip, total cost $938.86. They arranged a car through Fox Rentals. Our flight was an hour late and we called the number that Wisecars provided well ahead of time to let Fox know that our flight was running late. When we arrived, there were no SUVs available. None. All they had was two-wheel drive sedans, which would no way get us where we were going. And of course the Wisecars help line closes at 6 pm Eastern, which is 4 pm, so that option is completely worthless.
We found an SUV at Hertz, to the tune of $3,000/week, which was two grand+ more than the rate we had contracted for. We called Wisecars today for a refund, and were told that they "would look into it." I wouldn't rent a car again through this company if you held a loaded gun to my head.

Supply is tight and rental prices are through the roof, however Wisecars rate was very reasonable. The website gave us an upfront price, plus a clear indication of what would be due when we arrived to pick up the car in Kauai (taxes, fees, etc). I must admit I was nervous after reading these reviews (after I had already booked, oops) but the whole thing was quick and smooth. Due to the flights, we were an hour late showing up at the car rental office. No problems, no questions, they had our car waiting for us as expected. We, of course, got the upgrade sales pitch from the rental company (Thrifty), but that's pretty common, especially in ***. There was no problem turning it all down and sticking with what we had booked. The car was fine, drove it for a week, and on return we were billed exactly what we were told we would be billed when we made the booking through Wisecars. All in all, we got an adequate car at a reasonable rate and all expectations were met. I know things go wrong sometimes, but our experience was a good one and I felt it fair to share! Cheers!

On the day before I was scheduled to pick up the car, I had not hear from them so I sent email, they responded back stating that they did not have a record of my reservation. This was extremely frustrating because I badly needed a rental to accommodate company coming to town. I immediately contacted my credit card company and asked them to cancel my $257 payment to them. Thought everything was done, about two months later Im looking at my credit card statement and the $257 *** is back on my credit card ***. Contacted credit card company (chase) and apparently wisecars told them they disputed my cancellation of payment. Chase apparently accepted their claim and made the payment. Now trying to get my payment cancelled again a couple months after the fact. Wisecars appear to be some kind of scam operation, and chase appears to be assisting them with this scam.
A typical bait and switch company. They require some amount of prepay and then by the time they notify you of which car rental company will be supplying the car, it is too late to cancel. I booked through them in Phoenix recently. They told me Dollar would have my vehicle. When I got to Dollar, the counter was closed and everyone was directed to Thrifty. The line at Thrifty was easily more than 50 parties long (wrapped around the entire inside of the Phoenix car rental complex) and not moving. I waited for about an hour with little progress and eventually went to National. It did not even appear to me that Dollar had cars on their lot. I have contacted Wisecars directly, but they have not been particularly helpful in refunding the money.
Do not rent a car from these scammers! They taken 490 for a car that we never used! *** sent us to collect a car in the middle of nowhere to then be told they couldnt rent us the car because of our credit card! We went back to *** to be refunded. Surprise surprise they are saying no! When asked to speak to a manager they said the managers dont take calls. I mean how ridiculous! The agent was called *** who has no customer service skills What so ever and just kept repeating the same thing over and over. Will never use this company again! Stay clear. Ignore the good reviews as I feel these are fake to get good ratings.

Learn from my mistake. I love supporting new companies, and thought I would give these folks a try. As is their policy I paid in advance knowing I would have more fees on the other end, all spelled out nicely. Two days before I leave I get my voucher for Thrifty. All is well. When I found out my flight would be later than planned I called Thrifty, as instructed by Wisecars, to let them know. They would not put a note on my reservation because I had booked through Wisecars. Wisecars phone doesn't seem to exist, at least not on my paperwork, so I went ahead figuring people and companies understand flight delays and things would be fine. I arrive at the Thrifty counter to find they had not only given my car away, but had no more economy cars. Because I paid so much in advance that I would not get back I went ahead and let them "upgrade" me for $20 per day plus fees and taxes. So overall, a 10 day rental that was supposed to cost under $700 turned out to be over $1K. I hate writing negative reviews, but I want to help people be smarter than I was.

Never again. Warning- dont book through 3rd parties. You cannot resolve issues if you dont deal directly with the car rental company. The price is appealing but be wary.I was unable to complete my rental at arrival, I didnt have the correct credit card with me to complete the rental deposit (had already paid the rental fee). We switched renters. So even though it was booked as refundable, I was within 2 hours so they would not refund the payment. So I paid, and my boyfriend paid, for one car rental. Nu Car Rental assured me, although they were unable to process the refund as I had gone through a third party, that Wisecars should provide a refund. That did not happen.We did still rent a car, we only had to switch the renter, so its not as if they had less car rentals that day.I did not cancel, it was unable to be completed due to the deposit requirement. Absolutely awful experience with WiseCars. I originally booked a car for a trip that was cancelled due to weather issues but had signed up for free cancellation. Instead of a refund they gave me a rental credit. It was supposed to be a refund to my credit card but I thought, well that is too bad but I will just use the credit. I rebooked for a different trip months later. They cancelled my reservation 2 days before my trip saying I hadn't updated my payment information but I had used the credit to book and the booking said I owed no money when I booked. I rebooked against my better judgement using my rental credit and paying some out of pocket since the rate had doubled. The new booking was at the wrong location. I called the customer assistance number multiple times but this was a non-working number. We ended up having to pay for an entirely new rental at the counter. Their customer assistance number they sent me multiple times in e-mails for assistance says "The patient is not available at this time, try again later". What is that? I tried e-mailing for a refund or credit which they refused. Very shady company.

This company didn’t hold the EU law of notifying customer, charged the rent amount for service that never find place and at customer service escalation center I get useless replies regarding the company’s policy that disregards the law of EU.
They explaining that they did the action, but they can’t prove it.
Even with the proof on my hands that they broke the law, they refuse to refund me back.
It is not about amount I lost, but more likely amount I infest into a wrong company with the wrong culture, value and missions. The companies like this should not be allowed to make business!

Reservation cancelled from the service provider but Wisecar company refuses to make a refund
A car reservation was made through Wisecar website, and the car rental provider cancelled the reservation because i don't have a credit card, knowing that it was mentioned on Wisecar website that they accept Debit and Credit cards, and now they refuse to refund my money knowing that i have a printed note from Fox company (the rental car office) asking the website to issue a refund for me because they are the one who can cancelled the reservation not me.

They told me to contact Budget rental car that they had already paid Budget rental car then budget told me to contact wisecars because they cannot issue a refund I've been given the runaround and I am completely dissatisfied and have not received a refund the amount was $384 I would like resolution immediately either a full credit or a refund to my credit card which I can show proof of I was unable to rent a vehicle because of a credit check when I arrived at Budget Rental Car at the airport location
Date of transaction: 11/21 There was no available customer service in order to change the renter name on the agreement so I do not incur extra charges - but no one from the company's customer service was available. I had to bear an extra $150.00 while waiting in a foreign country for over an hour with my 4 children who were tired and hungry from a long trip. After the fact, the company doesn't take any responsibility for its lack of customer service. This company needs to be reported for its unprofessional service.

I reserved a car rental for my husband to be picked up in Atlanta airport (ATL). He followed the instruction from the confirmation email explicitly with voucher in hand. Dollar car rentals did not honor the voucher and he was left WITHOUT a rental. In order to secure a rental it would cost us significantly more and it was unplanned - Undue stress as a result of this unpleasant situation. This is horrible customer service, deceptive practices when the car rental companies aren't partnered to accept these transactions, false advertisement as the product paid for upfront was not received. This scenario causes added stress to an already stressful situation of traveling.
We paid for car pick up at 9am. We arrived on time to pick up the car but was told that All cars are overbooked. As of now 2 hours later we are still waiting for a car I spoke to customer service at Wisecare and they are unable to escalate to a manager and said this is the vendor (Thriftys) fault. I rented a car through Wisecars.They charged about 30% at advance and then sent me a confirmation.Although verifying twice with their customer service that the booking was confirmed, upon arriving to the rental office, the desk worker said he has no reservation for my name at all!Moreover he said it always happens with that site (which charges at advance and not making any reservation!)To make things worse, there were no other available cars for the last minute (tried some more agencies) and my vacation was basically ruined.All the hotels outside town were already booked, as well as tickets to the castles,museums and so on.I lost amount of time and money, and all the customer service suggested was a refund (which I shouldn't even been charged for at the first place, and not even sure ill get as it still wasn't processed).

Company is a broker for rental cars. Booked a car with them. Paid up front & they sent a confirmation email that stated "you can relax, you're guaranteed a car upon your arrival." We arrived in the city we traveled to & we had an email from Wisecars instructing us to go to a specific rental agency. We waited in line for almost 2 hrs. where we were informed there was no car for us...unless we paid to upgrade to a higher level vehicle for an additional $90 plus tax. After 6 or so emails back & forth with a Wisecars customer rep, they basically refused to even attempt to make things right. Several excuses were given & blame was placed on everyone else even though our initial agreement is with Wisecars. I want a $110.59 refund from them for the upgrade plus tax we were forced to pay because the car they "guaranteed" us was not there. Broken promises, lies & excuses is all we received from Wisecars.
Thanks to Wisecars, I had a smooth and hassle-free rental experience. I would book here again.
