Midas - Auto repair

I had my '71 F100 towed over to the shop in Greenville, SC to have them do a brake job. What should have been a $400 bill was magically converted into an $1800+ bill when they started the "that's where the truck is taking us" routine. They found an issue with the rear differential, and I authorized the repair. Then I get a call from them saying that my battery is completely dead, and my charging system is bad. At this point I know they're full of it, because I had disconnected the negative terminal about a month prior while I was working on the truck. There was no draw on the battery. My assumption is that they tried to start the truck without looking at the connections, and just went down the charging system rabbit-hole. Regardless, I authorized them to replace the battery, and tighten the drive belt if required. On the day I go to pick up the truck, I open the door and notice that the brake and clutch pedal pads have been removed, and are laying in the floorboard...why?!? None of the services had anything to do with anything inside the cab. I didn't think much of it at the time, and put the pads back on the pedals myself. Then I start the truck...and the fun starts. It sounds like there are animals actively fighting for their survival under the hood. The reason? They decided to go ahead and replace the drive belt anyway, but didn't bother tightening it up. There was nothing wrong with the charging system prior to taking it to Midas. I have a voltage meter in the truck, and it was happily tells me that the alternator is delivering 13.7V to the battery, so that shouldn't have been touched. The belt alone added another $166.43 to the bill. They somewhat tightened the belt to allow me to drive the truck home, and that's when I noticed that the switch/plunger for the cargo light had been removed. It's nothing fancy, but its an OEM part from a 52-year-old truck, and now I just have a bulb sticking out of my dash. Who was screwing around in my truck, Midas? Why were they screwing around in my truck, Midas? On top of that, they charged me for two master cylinders. Last time I checked, there's only one in the truck.

* Extra master cylinder - $132.13

* Belt - Part = $81.99, Labor = 84.44, Total = $166.43

* Brake fluid - $24.99 -- one bottle should have been sufficient, especially at $25/bottle

* Battery - Part = $172.73, Labor = $50.66

Subtotal: $546.94

6% tax: $32.82

Total: $579.76

Desired outcome: Midas needs to refund my payment for the unnecessary/unauthorized services, and either retrieve it from whoever took it out of the truck, or start hunting for an OEM replacement.
