Walgreens - Denied purchase

I Attempted to purchase several health products at the Brooklyn Avenue U store 11229 that we're clearly labeled OTC I also had my Walgreen card for discounts after several tries I was declined and told to call number on the back of OTC card So I did I found out that my card & funds where fine there wasn't any issue And the card was in very good condition. Manager Brad had no answers for me why this 87 dollar purchase could not be completed the problem was clearly on Walgreens system I also gave the store an opportunity to resolve the issue and got no answers or resolve. I really like that the OTC products are labeled in Walgreens but if your Denied at checkout what's the sense of that. I believe there is some discrimination going on at this location 3082 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11229 ·

Walgreens - Racial profiling

On December 12/1/21 at approximately 1500 hrs, I entered the Walgreens located at 3082 Avenue U to purchase cough syrup. Upon entering, the employee who was at the registration used the phone to make an announcement stating "security walk the floor". When I got to the aisle to get the medicine, another employee asked me if I need help and I stated no. He stood there behind my back looking at me as I searched for the medicine and pretended like he was straightening items on the selves. The store was crowded with customers compared to the times I previously shopped there. I got on the long line and once I arrived at the register, the same employee at the register that called for security to walk the floor kept looking over at me and at one point walked over to the register that I was at. The reason why I was racially profiled is because I am Hispanic and when I entered the store, he immediately called for security to walk the floor. The employee that approached me and would not leave the aisle I was at did not approach any other customers in the store. Most customers are older white people that shop at this store. I have a professional job which pays extremely well and there is no reason that I would have to steal. Never stolen anything in my life and never will. This employee can be described as a little heavy set not sure what his race is but he was at the register closest to the phone near the exit. All I ask is that employees get training about racial profiling and stop assuming cause they see someone of a certain race and dressed a certain way that they entering the store to steal. I warn that if this happens again that I will not be a nice person like I was the day I was racially profiled. Nobody should not be subjected to race profiling when shopping and spending money. However, before someone sues walgreens and the employees for racial profiling, I strongly recommend that the practice stops immediately and train your employees. Hope this don't ever happen again so I won't have to take further action into this matter.

Desired outcome: Train the employee and stop the practice of racial profiling.

We are all starting a class action lawsuit, this is nor how you treat and degrade customers who use.
E.B.T benefits. The cashier has a wonky eye, he can't be missed.

This topic i think the mods should close. i get you all feel slighted by the list of warning signs they are trained to look for. if they see those signs they will keep watch on the one who appears to match the signs.

as for the cashier it sounds more like you are profiling because he has a lazy eye it sounds like. each location has specific instructions from corporate, regional manager, and their specific manager on what is approved and not. you might have fallen shy of that locations approved list.

At Walgreens I had a similar incident where the really dumb-looking night clerk followed me from aisle to aisle not realizing I was sizing up the prices so I could make a certain amount to use a Walgreens coupon. I said "Are you following me?" and she said "Yes" without telling me why when I asked. I no longer go to Walgreens and am telling everyone not to. I think they are biased, stupid, incompetent, unprofessional, arrogant and did I say stupid? Their corporation is a joke. Do not take their surveys or give them any information not necessary because they might try to use this against you. Walgreens is not worthy of you as a customer or your money. Spend it at their competitors and maybe they'll finally be put out of business. I am much better off where I now shop to get my needs taken care of by professionals who are competent. Who needs Walgreens, yuck?!

from what i recall a friend told me [they used to work at Walgreens]. they have behind the counter a Be on the look out list with pictures. they are supposed to discreetly monitor if they suspect a known shoplifter is in the store. once confirmed it is a shoplifter to discreetly call loss prevention and security right away.

she may have saw a picture that looked like you, went to make double sure [in a obvious way it seems] she wasn't mistaken. you caught her and she i guess wasn't trained as to what to do if caught.
